I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system
It's worked out well for many of us in the past.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)
I have recently bought a Thinkpad Yoga 460 with Thinkpad Pen Pro. I leave it in the laptop slot for charging for more than a day and it gives me only a few minutes of usage. As per the user guide, it should be 80% charge in 15 seconds and 100% after 5 minutes. But it runs out of charge very soon. It shows me the low battery level indicator as soon as I use it on the screen. First day of usage (appox 4 days ago) it gave me about 30 - 45 minutes of continuous. But after that not more than 5 minutes. Please let me know if this is an issue with the Pen or Laptop charging port. Is there any way I can troubleshoot it?Please also let me know the average usage time for the pen, if you are continuously using it.

Welcome to the forums.
I do not have that kind of pen, but I think is the one that has some "bronce contacts" at the top of the pen. I had read some other post about it, just in case check that "contacts" to make sure they are touching with the charger when you put the pen into it's holder. Sometimes the contacts may move.
I am hhaving difficulty finding an acceptable scaling mix between resolution, system scaling, and edge scaling. At 1080p, 125%, 125%, os navigation is mostly fine, but edge text is way too large. At 1080p, 125%, 100%, edge text is way too small. At all combinations text is inflated (but crisp) in certain elements while fuzzy in others. What scaling combinations work best for you? I am considering returning this to Best Buy and upgrading to a Pro 4 / Book, or even a Mac. The scaling is ruining an otherwise great experience.Read other answers
I just bought a Thinkpad Yoga from Best Buy and upon opening, found that the pen pro included does not work. I'm on the most updated version of all the drivers, and the touch screen and multitouch with my hands still work. After taking an multimeter to measure the voltage of the pen, I found that the pen just wasn't charging. I'm a bit hesitant to check the voltage of the charging silo itself but my suspicion is that the pen is dead. Could this be a software problem? Has anyone encountered a similar problem? Should I return to pen and the laptop to bestbuy or just the pen? Or should this issue be brought to Lenovo instead?
I don't have a 460, but I do have a 260, which is a smaller, but VERY similar machine. I had the same problem and I believe it is not the pen. Before you do anything, you need to unplug the machine and disable the internal battery. You do that by going into the BIOS and under the config tab, look under power. There will be an option to disable the battery. When this is selected, the machine will turn off. The battery is re-enabled the next time you plug it in. IF THE BATTERY IS NOT DISCONNECTED, YOU WILL CREATE A SHORT AND BLOW A IRREPLACEABLE FUSE ON THE MOTHERBOARD. Remove the pen and look inside, where you will see 2 contacts. My guess is that one or both got pushed back into the housing during manufacturing process. You can take something fine and sharp like a needle and gently free them so they will pop back out. Once I popped mine out, the pen charged very quickly and I never had another problem with it.Read other 4 answers
I have two staff members with different Yoga models, but with the same pen issue. Say, for instance, OneNote is open. The pen doesn't draw or write, but it can select and still be recognized. When I try using an old stylus from an HP Elitebook, it works TOTALLY fine - even the button on the pen functions properly. This suddenly started after months of the Lenovo pens working fine. I thought maybe it was a driver issue, but it can't be as the HP pen works.... I'm thinking it's the pen itself just getting worn down? It looks okay though but may be just a little loose... Any help / direction would be greatly appreciated!Read other answers

Hi, I have 3 problems with my Yoga 460: 1. (this should be easy):Where do I get a backup image for my system from? I did not find any links on the support page. 2. I tried to download the bios update to version 1.18 from the website. If I click on the windows installer file, there is always the message "file not found". If I try to download the iso file (which is indeed working), I receive an error message about wrong format when trying to mount it to a usb drive. 3. This is the most important issue for me at the moment:As soon as I try to update my system with Lenovo Companion software, I always get the message that I would have to upgrade my Lenovo System Interface Driver. If I hit ok to install this app, I get a download link. I tried installing it several times. After having restarted the system, the same error appears again (with the same download link). I would really appreciate if anyone of you could help me on these topics! Greetings from Germany, Simon

Maybe it can help your 3) point by installing "Lenovo Application Interface Driver for Windows 10".
Download it from here:
Check if after installing it, it will work with Lenovo Companion.
Hello all I was wondering if anyone knew if the pen that comes with the yoga 460 has a set of changeable tips that you can buy separately? I bought mine through best buy but I noticed that the tip of the pen screws off and allows the stylus tip to be removed. I can't seem to find anywhere that sells different tips for that pen tho. My 2 days old yoga 260 makes a ticking noise in the right hinge always when I open the notebook or move the screen open a little bit. It is irritating and I am concerned about the build quality of the hinge. What to do?

My hinges are quiet and smooth, but they are tight and sturdy so that the screen is stable in any orientation. I'm sorry, but without hearing or feeling yourem there is no way for me to say if yours are "normal", but it is common for a tight hinge to make a little noise when it begins a motion.Read other 7 answers

Hi there,I received my Thinkpad P40 Yoga roughly 6 months ago and have not had many issues, however, for the past few weeks I've noticed my fan at times pulses with a very annoying sound. At times when my fan runs, it sounds like it is pulsing. Sometimes it's constant, while other times it pulses and I'm not entirely sure why. I looked around and read a few posts stating that sometimes a BIOS update is required. I got software from the Lenovo website to automatically update it, but the sound remains. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!Read other answers

I recently acquired a Thinkpad yoga 15 laptop and while playing with the options I realised it completely lacked Bluetooth functionality. I have tried updating the Intel PROSet Bluetooth software, updating the network adapter drivers, disabling the adapter altogether and reenabling it through the BIOS. I don't know if the Bluetooth adapter is supposed to appear as a different adapter in the Device Manager or if only the Intel Dual-Band AC 7265 is supposed to show up (under the Advanced tab, Bluetooth is labeled as Active). No bluetooth option is present in the PC and devices options menu... I even reset to factory settings in case it was an issue with a third party program, but even there, same situation. Am I missing something? Please help me to get this feature working!
I had the same problem as well, i fixed mine by going to the intel site and downloading the update software. downloading the driver didnt work for me. as soon as i used the update software the bluetooth driver turned on and i was good to gohttps://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/84178/Intel-Wireless-N-7265Read other 4 answers

Hello,I'm having trouble since I recieved my LENOVO ThinkPad Yoga 14 two months ago.It is on guarantee.I've noticed that the master fan keeps starting even if the computer is not working at full capacity. Sometimes, it starts right after windows as finished booting! And it's a brand new computer, Intel i7 CPU and 8GO of RAM!The fan keeps working then even if I'm only surfing on the internet or working on word. It's REALLY annoying. I feel like this is already an old computer by it's blowing. My old computer, a 5 years old Toshiba Satellite, doesn't blow so much.I've searched over the web and found that LENOVO had released a new UEFI Bios that was suposed to fix this problem. I've installed it and nothing changed! The fan kept on turning on for nothing else than a gmail home page.I've already asked about another problem on the ThinkPad Yoga 14. It's about a background noise on the built in speakers. Here's the link: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Background-noise-on-ThinkPad-Yoga-14-bu...I'm not having a good experience with this Yoga 14. I was looking for professional quality and it is not.Can someone tell me if they have the same problems? What LENOVO is going to do about it?Thanks.Ludovic.
Hi ludovicfd Can you please post the full model number of you machine and which Windows version are you using?. For example my TP Yoga 14 is "20DM008UUS" and I didn't experienced those issues. I'm guessing that your machine fan is blowing too much and making huge noise. In my case I can feel more the hard drive noise than the fan, it is not like the HDD is "that loud", but when you are on a quiet enviroment you can feel it "scrattching". Do you want to try first updating any firmware / BIOS on your machine at the latest level ? After that another alternative will be to try to update the driver for the chipset and power. The basic thing for me is to try to update the drivers and firmware this way:- Windows Update- Lenovo System Update- Lenovo Companionand after that search manually for updates on the Lenovo Support site with your specific model number. Sorry, it is trial and error to see if a driver can fix your issue. If after updating the drivers, you think it is hardware issue you should try to contact Lenovo's Customer Support site RegardsRead other 2 answers

Hi, I completely reinstalled windows 8.1 pro on my ThinkPad Yoga. After that I installed all drivers including updates provided by Microsoft and Lenovo (using Lenovo system updater 5). Hi, After working out that my laptop (Thinkpad Yoga S1) most likely has a digitizer, I purchased a pen for it. However, since I wasn't 100% sure, I bought a cheaper, off-brand pen that people said was compatible, the listing for which can be found here. I received it today, but my computer seems unresponsive when I try to use it. When I went to Wacom Pen or Pen and Touch Input, the pen calibration screens were either blank (Wacom) or didn't load (Input). Is there something else I have to do to make my pen work? Did I purchase the wrong pen? If it helps, the pen slot on my computer is still plugged; I was going to unplug it, but to do so I'd have to remove the back paneling, and one of the screws keeping it in place has been stripped. The thread confirming that my laptop has a digitizer is here. Thanks!
Please notice that this is my personal opinon and it does not mean I'm 100% right, this is based on my experience.
I think that the "Digitizer PEN for Lenovo ThinkPad X60 X61 X200 X201" is for older Thinkpad models. I have a Thinkpad Yoga 14 (Similar to S1) (20DM008UUS) and it has a digitizer screen, but it requires an "active pen" (with batteries inside) to be able to work with the digitizer.
I have the Thinkpad Pen Pro and it works fine with my model. I still think you have a digitizer on your laptop but I think it is the wrong pen.
Here it also some more info about the pen that Amy wrote.
Got Thinkpad Yoga 260 delivered today. Haven't turned it on yet and was checking it out. Lifting it up and slightly shaking produces rattling noice around the right hand side hinge. It's either hinge itself making that sound or inside the laptop around top right corner. Any ideas on what that might be and how to possibly fix it? Should I just consider sending it back to get fixed instead? Thanks. Edit: I suspect it could actually be a right bottom corner of the LCD right over Yoga 260 imprint where the rattle is. There is nothing I can do to fix that. So much for a brand new laptop...
Looks like it'll need to be replaced instead of repaired. At least I'm not stuck with it. Seems like a QA issue to me.Read other 4 answers

I purchased a refurbished ThinkPad S1 Yoga (20CD-00BYUS) a month ago, from eBay (US-based shop) with guarantee active up to April 2015. Everything was fine and satisfying until yesterday. After a normal shutdown the night before, it won't power on anymore. The battery was still about 50% on the last shut down. If I press the power button (normal press or even more than 5 sec press), the "red i dot" will light for about 4 sec and then off. No noise, no other sound. I tried to push the emergergency reset button as instructed on the manual, but it didn't work.I tried also making bootable USB, but also didn't work.Anyone have idea what I have to do before the ultimate option = send it to the customer service for repair? I read some similar problem in this forum and it seems useful to check the MB cable. Is it true? Will it affect the guarantee? Thank you for your help.

no. i was the one that provided the MB cable solution. From your description, it does not fit the problem. If the MB cable is disconnected, the led should not even lightup when you press the power button. the laptop should be totally unreponsive, except when the power adapter is unplugged then plugged back in.Read other 6 answers
I had to send my X1 Yoga (20FQ) back for service as it reported a hardware fault. Sounds like it was due to a corrupt driver reporting a false positive. They had to reimage the laptop, so when I got it back I was starting from scratch. When I opened the Lenovo Companion App (I'm on Win 10 Pro 64), the home page (under the big "Optimise Your Thinkpad" button had this: Thinkpad X1 Carbon 4th This got me thinking - did they put the correct image on there? I hadn't noticed it when I first got it a month ago, so don't know what it said then. I didn't want to rebuild my system only to find it needed to be reimaged again. I called the repair centre, and they seemed to think it was correct - that that profile was the correct one for my serial number. They put me through to technical support, who thought I was correct - it was the wrong image. They sent me out a recover USB to try again. I've just done that (reimaged) and the Lenovo Companion App says the same thing. Given I got conflicting reports from Lenovo support I thought I'd try the forum here first - to see what other X1 Yoga owners have in their Lenovo Companion App. What does yours say? Maybe the X1 Yoga and X1 Carbon are so similar they can use the same image? Much AppreciatedRead other answers

When I am at work I plug my Thinkpad Yoga into the Onelink Pro to connect all the peripherals, inlcuding mouse, keyboard, printer, and two monitors. The Onelink Pro also has my ethernet connection to the office network. I have had this setup for 2 1/2 years and it has always worked great. This morning, however, when I connected to the Onelink everything worked normally except the ethernet network connection. I could not connect to my office network, and I got messages like "Cannot find a valid network"; so I ran the Lenovo diagnostics. It told me there was an invalid IP configuration. I have unplugged and reset both the Onelink and the computer; but nothing had fixed the problem. I have also checked for the latest drivers, and everything seems to be up to date. Does anyone have any suggestions to get me reconnected to my ethernet network, or is my Onelink starting to go bad?Read other answers

Hello, I just received my new shiny TPY (again). The first time I got it, the digitizer wasn't working. After a bit of research I realized that it probably was a hardware issue (No digitizer, pen or wacom device in device-manager). So I send it back. The mainboard got replaced and today I have my machine back. It was all working fine including the digitizer. But from one minute to the other it stopped working and I can't find any wacom or digitizer devices in the device-manager.Now my first thought was, that the Windows updates messed something up, so I've done a rollback but it's still not working.Am I doing something wrong or is it a hardware issue again? Thanks for advance.Robinhuett
Hello. It isn't a Hardware Problem. It seems to be a software problem after Windows 8.1 Update. I have the same problem :-( When I start the PC it works perfect, until I used it as Tablet. After that the Digitizer Pen didn't work. So I reinstalled all drivers. After that the pen worked.. so I tested it again as Tablet, after that. the Digitizer Pen didn't work. Now I installed all drivers again but the Pen didn't worked. It is a big problem at Lenovo, because Lenovo has problems with the pen software a long time. It is soooo sad because I love the Thinkpad Yoga but with this Problem the price isn't acceptable. So I am going to send it back and wait for the Surface Pro 3. Because Thinkpad stands for the perfect Business Notebook and now... Lenovo has with the digitizer pen more problems than all others. And this is very sad :-(Read other 3 answers
