How do I remove Lenovo HD Audio Manager?

Q: How do I remove Lenovo HD Audio Manager?

I just purchased a Lenovo Ideacenter 330K desktop and I have run into a problem with the audio manager.

The system is using a standard Realtek Audio chipset and it has front and real audio jacks but the problem I keep running into is that unlike other realtek control panels, the Lenovo doesn't allow me to split the front and rear audio jacks.

The only advanced option that it gives me is to disable detection of the front jack.

There is no reason for this functionality to even exist. Realtek allows to split the two devices with it's audio manager but I can't find the files I need to remove and I have already tried to update the files which is supposed to uninstall the old driver package and install the new drivers but the audio manager is untouched.

Any help would be appreciated.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: How do I remove Lenovo HD Audio Manager?

Generally, the vendor supplied drivers are the best to use as each vendor customizes the software to how they implement the hardware. If you use non-Lenovo drivers there is a possibility that everything will not work correctly with the RealTek - this isn't with every vendor but most.

Hello,

I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and I have a problem with sound. When I plug my speakers in front panel I have output audio, but in back panel I don't.

My Audio Manager looks like this, but front panel is enabled and back panel is disabled. It does not recognize back (ANALOG) jack.

I tried with settings in this manager but without success, I cheked Control Panel > Sound and followed instructions but still no sound if speakers is in back panel. What to do?

P.S
Sorry for bad english

Hi,
Recently, I started getting problems with my audio on my alienware X51 R2 (I'm on windows 10). After a long time of searching for solutions all over the internet like on forums, I've come to the point where the only possible solution to my problem is using the realtek hd audio manager. The problem is: I can't access it on my alienware device since it is completely replaced by your poor version of it "Alienware Audio" wich does not have any of the options I need. How could I restore the original version of this software or at least disable the alienware audio version?

I was looking in my Device Manager the other day, when I noticed something odd: there were two devices related to Lenovo Power Management.   I looked at the properties of both of them and this is what I found:  The first one, "Lenovo PM Driver", is the one that shows up for download on the support page for the Lenovo T430 as it matches the version number. I have no idea what the second one "Lenovo Power Manager" is, at nothing with its version number appears on the website at all. Does anyone know what the second one is and if should it be there?

A:Lenovo PM Device vs. Lenovo Power Manager

I do not know if it SHOULD be there or not BUT I show the same 2 drivers with the same 2 version numbers on my X1Y3.  By the way Lenovo Power Manager was installed by windows 10 Update not through Lenovo Vantage for me.  Looking at windows drivers update on my laptop I traced it to the below link.

A:No 2.1 Audio option in Realtek HD AUdio Manager

A 2.1 speaker system uses "Stereo". There is no specific setup for 2.1.

A 2.1 speaker system only uses the Green speaker jack, which is 2 channel (stereo). Other systems such as 5.1 or 7.1 use more than just the Green speaker jack and have setups for those.

I just bought a notebook Lenovo G450 and I had drivers not found problem. My OS is Windows XP SP2. In Device Manager, there are four "Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus" device with exclamation mark. Below is the link to the screenshot of my device manager (pardon me, you have copy-paste the link manually since my post count is still below 5 so I cannot post link/image here):

There is no sound problem since I had successfully installed the sound driver from lenovo (The name is "Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221" as you can see on the screenshot above) and the sound is working without problem. I also had installed Microsoft UAA Bus Driver before installing the sound driver.

I had tried installing realtek and nvidia high definition audio driver and all required drivers from lenovo (http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_list.aspx?CategoryID=370748), but still no avail. The four yellow exclamation marks is still exist.

So I need help to identify what actually are the devices that shown as "Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus"? And where can I get the driver for that devices?

These are the device IDs:

Lenovo Yoga 3 11 - model 80J8:  out of warrantyI have done several searches and it seems there is a fairly common problem with some Yoga machines and audio.  All of a sudden a few months ago, the internal speakers went silent.  I did not notice it because I don't use it much for streaming audio, but when I do, I connect it to external speakers.  Audio to an external source functions fine, but internal speakers are silent.  Control panel and Device Manager show speakers functioning properly.I have read previous postings back to 2015 and it seems there is no real Lenovo reply or fix for this problem.  I have already tried to update the Realtek driver and that had no effect.  I am not willing to restore to factory default, since this machine shipped with Windows 8 and I upgraded to Windows 10 a few years ago.  The audio worked fine after the Windows 10 upgrade.  Respectfully, please only respond if you have factual data, rather than speculation.  This problem is well documented in the forums and elsewhere, but I have yet to find something concrete.I thought it may help to add a thread on the subject, as I expect others with the problem are frustrated, especially since there does not seem to be a formal response from Lenovo (that I can find)..  Thank you in advance!

On my lenovo T61 I just installed windows xp and there are quite a few drivers missing that i am looking for. I found what I thought was the solution to the audio problem here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/si...cid=MIGR-67816
but it didn't seem to work. Since I don't have internet on the computer i just switched to xp, I downloaded what was on that website onto a usb drive and then installed it on the computer I'm trying to fix. It still says that I am missing the "audio device on high definition audio bus". Shouldn't the file at the above link take care of the problem? Anyone know where I could find the driver I need?

A:audio device on high definition audio bus missing for xp pro on lenovo t61 pc

bad thing about IBM's website is they sometimes post more than one driver. Look through the list to see if there are anymore audio drivers for Xp listed.

I could look, but IBM's site needs the unit type in order to look for drivers/manuals. 4 diget number on the white sticker on bottom of the laptop. for example

- ThinkPad R61(type):
- 7732, 7733, 7735, 7736, 7737, 7738, 7742
- 7743, 7751, 7753, 7754, 7755
- 8914, 8918, 8919, 8920, 8927, 8928, 8929
- 8942, 8943, 8944, 8945, 8947, 8948, 8949

those are laptop types that IBM uses, am sure you noticed that on the page you linked :)

Hello, I have a Lenovo Yoga 710 15 80V50000U laptop and I am trying to add memory. I have opened the back but there seems to be a metal box/cover around the ram that I can't figure out how to remove. There are several groups (of 2) clips around each side of the metal cover and also many holes on the top/sides. Do I remove it by prying the clips and/or removing screws? If there are screws, I don't see them, could they be inside those little holes (and if so which holes)?  Thank you, Jan

Looks like you'll need a wedge tool to pry open the cover. I suggest starting on one corner, then the next. If you don't have a wedge tool, try using a ruler carefully.

Lenovo Gen 4(20FC) Carbon loses audio after Lenovo System Update We have several of the Gen 4 X1 Carbons here at work and they work fine until Lenovo system updates gets run. We have had 4 people run the system updates and now the system has no audio. If you click the audio icon in the try, windows begins diagnosing the system. If you try to install a different driver, it fails with code 1. No matter if you uninstall, reinstall, different versions of the driver....nothing seems to restore the audio. I finally did a system restore to before lenovo system update was run and the audio returned to working. It seems to be a software problem but I would really like to know if there is some way to get it working without having to restore every time someone runs lenovo system update.

I have a Lenovo G510 running Windows 10, upgraded from 8.1 long ago.  I'm not sure if there was a recent update that caused this problem, but one evening everythings was fine, and I know because I fell asleep with the "Simply noise" website playing white noise, and when I woke up, there was no sound.  I tried all the normal fixes (reinstalled drivers in device manager, downloaded latest drivers directly from Lenovo website and tried them, restarted Audio Endpoint and Audiosrv in taskmanager, even went into regedit and checked that the value for the audio endpoint was correct, but made no registry changes) all to no avail.I was beginning to think that there was a wiring problem and was getting ready to open it up and look around, but decided to try something else first.  I put in my ubuntu live cd and restarted without installing ubuntu.  All audio works in Ubuntu. Speakers, headphone and mic jacks, and I even tried my usb>headphones/mic adapter and everything works.  I'm planning to dualboot ubuntu while waiting to find a fix in windows, but I've never had a dedicated Linux machine so I'd like to still be able to turn to Windows since I'm about to go back to school in a few weeks. Please let me know if there's a fix out there for this that I haven't tried, or if I need to post more information to check for other problems that may have caused this.  Thanks in advance! -Tronk

This happened today: I was watching a TV show on my computer and the sound was ok.I unplugged my headphones and the audio symbol in the taskbar had a cross. It said "no audio output device is installed".No audio would come out of the PC.Apparently, the audio drivers were uninstalled, probably by some Windows 10 update. I downloaded the drivers from Lenovo's site and, when I installed them, the sound quality was awful and sound would take exactly 6 seconds after I hit play on Spotify or YouTube for the sound to actually come out, ie, I'd miss the first 6 seconds.I called support and they uninstalled the drivers and proceeded to do what I had done before: download the drivers again and re-install them. The audio quality improved but the 6 seconds with no audio remained and here I am now. Since they couldn't find the solution and told me to to a factory reset. But I'm looking into an alternate solution before factory resetting the laptop. Dows anyone have an idea of what could be wrong?

I have an ASUS M5A88-M motherboard with Realtek HD onboard audio. I rebuilt the machine bringing it back to Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and now have no audio. All indications show that audio is playing meaning the green bar shows movement when audio is happening. The default sound device is set to speakers

Here's what I've done so far to try to fix:Updated the motherboard BIOS to the latest version
Updated the latest Realtek drivers
Uninstalled the Realtek drivers and rebooted
Confirmed onboard audio is enabled in the BIOS
Confirmed the speakers and headphones are working on other computers

Control Panel / Sound shows the Speakers as the DEFAULT device and as mentioned when I play something I can see the green indicator bar moving up and down but no sound.

I've attached images of Device Manager, Control Panel-Sound and the Speaker volumne.

I don't know what else to try here as I've already spent hours trying to fix this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have five speakers and one subwoofer connected to a Samsung HT-Z310 DVD-player, and then connect that to my MacBook using AUX 2.

(I have no idea what AUX 2 is, but that's what the tiny display on the DVD-player says.)

The problem is that the Mac only plays stereo on them.

When I open Realtek HD Audio Manager, in the "Speakers" tab, and the "Speaker Configuration" subtab, "Speaker Configuration" is set to "Stereo" by default. And it's grayed out, so I can't change it.

Further than that, I only have two options: "Full-range Speakers" - "Front left and right" and "Headphone Virtualization".

I have also tried "Control Panel", "Hardware and Sound", "Sound", marking the speakers and clicking "Configure", but the only option displayed in the list is "Stereo".

I have no idea what's wrong. The rear speakers work, but play the same sound as the front speakers.

audio settings in win10 will need checking to see if all is set correctly. this page has a guide and steps to follow to ensure all is ready and correct.

http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/no-sound-7-tips-fix-audio-issues-windows-10/

if not, the following links will direct you to driver reinstall and the manufacturers site for potential driver updates. the full id of the machine is required when searching the Asus site:

try this, Open Start, enter Device Manager, and select it from the list of results. Under Sound, video and game controllers, select your sound card, open it, select the Driver tab, and select Update Driver. If Windows doesn?t find a new driver, look for one on the device manufacturer?s website and follow their instructions
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-10/fix-sound-problems#v1h=tab01

see if there are any latest updates for win10 on the Asus site.

Realtek HD Audio Manager is a software driver used on Windows computers. It handles recording and playback of audio programs. It is required for many audio programs to operate.

While Realtek HD Audio Drivers is a tool that allows you to listen to audio in HD on your PC.

Stereo Mix is used to transfer audio that the PC is playing to recording software such as Audacity, so that you can record what you?re hearing.

When one upgrade their OS like in your case from XP to Win7 with the same motherboard and sound card it is always advised & recommended to download the latest soundcard driver, because the only thing that had changed was the operating system.

The advice is not to go to windows for it, but to go to the motherboard manufacturer, because it would be specialised for the system rather than ... Read more

If I uninstall the Realtek driver, how am i supposed to get online? I know I need a hardware driver, and based on the test results, it would appear there is an issue with upload quality, as the readme suggested.

I'm only concerned with getting the best upload connection I can, whether that means removing the s/w or leaving it....

I know I have it because it's opened right now. But the reason it opened was because I plugged in an audio device. So where do I open it manually? There's nothing in the Program Files folder.

Hi there everyone,
I have a bit of an annoying problem with the Realtek HD Audio Manager.
When i have left my computer turned on and i've been away from it for an hour or two, My screen is set to go into a standby mode but the computer will stay on.

When i wiggle the mouse to have the display turn back on, Realtek HD Audio manager is always opened up and displayed in the middle of the screen. Does anyone know how i can stop this doing it or why its doing it? I haven't opened it or anything but it seems to just randomly open upon itself.

Thank you for any help.

Having some issues. My friend just downloaded it onto my computer that he made for me, and I've never used it before.

It's not letting me have a headphone. I'll plug in the headphone and microphone jacks but it still plays through the main speakers and I can not figure out how to get my mic to work and how to get it to go to do the headsets.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi there

Someone pleeeeease help me. This is driving me nuts! I have an Acer TravelMate 2480 Notebook running Windows XP Professional. It came pre-installed with the Realtek HD Audio Manager. For the first few months all was well and then I started having problems with sound. The on board speakers work well but intermittently I would experience problems when plugging either the headphones or external speakers in. Sometimes it would work, sometimes it wouldn’t. The on board speakers do cut out (mute) when externals are plugged in which is correct but no sound is heard from them (externals). If I then unplug the jack the on board speakers work. Initially I thought it was a hardware problem with the actual headphone socket but too many people in forums scattered around the net have had the same problem that I seem to feel it’s a software issue. I followed a lengthy piece of advice this afternoon which involved completely uninstalling the Realtek program and drivers from the system (including the registry) and re-installing the latest version which I downloaded but I am still experiencing the same problem. Is this problem familiar to anyone and does anyone know of a solution? I need good quality sound for the work I am doing and the on board speakers are not sufficient.

Thanks

v 1607 just installed
it has placed an icon in the system tray for realtek audio
I cannot see the way to remove it from system tray
How do I do that

A:realtek audio manager

Open the Realtek HD Audio Manager. Click on the "I" on the lower right of the screen just above OK. It will bring up another panel and the option for the tray is in that panel. See my screenshot.

You could try updating your sound card drivers, and software. Also make sure you havn't messed with your media players equalizer.

couple of problems seem to be occuring with this programme. firstly the front mic port is highlighted pink even when no mic is connected. is this normal?

mic and headphones work fine but every now and then. in particular if i have speakers switched on it will pop up saying i have either connected or disconnected a device. can this be resolved?

finally, i'm guessing i should keep my drivers up to date. is there anyway i can check if it is the latest version and if not where do i go to get an update? motherboard website or realtek.

thanks in advance

Easiest place for the drivers,

http://www.vistax64.com/sound-audio/...er-update.html

You don't list your motherboard, but I would assume you will need the HD Codec driver and not the AC97 one.

As for you other question you'll have to wait for someone that uses their Realtek onboard sound.

So basically my Mic aint working...

This has something to do with the wonderful invention that is Realtek Sound Manager.

but I dont know what.. or how to fix it...

and it's driving me nuts.. this comp is like 3 months old, a bit early for it to start acting up...

Thr problem is that when I use the push to talk button in either counter strike source, teamspeak or messenger, it just relays my computer sound from the speakers threw the mic (or something like that) so instead of my jammering the other players only hear Game sound or themself.

Can anyone help me??

So yeah, I know that Acer displays the Realtek HD Audio Manager as ACER's.

I have no problems with the name being different. The problem is, after 4 successive times of uninstalling the driver and installing the new one, the HD Audio Manager does not update. Its stuck at one version. So can anyone help me update the HD Audio Manager? My dumb guess is that Acer is not updating the HD Audio Manager as it'll be changed to Realtek.. I have tried downloading and installing the Driver from Acer's website but its still the same.. Help is much appreciated.

Welcome to the Vista Forums zafz,

....and before I go any further I recommend that you forget all about Acer to source your driver updates - they are notoriously slow at getting up-to-date with the latest from Realtek.

I suggest that you go straight to the Sound & Audio Forum Sticky Note at the top of the page here , and always update from there.

But first of all, make sure that you read the notes that Brink has written to the heading of the post at Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version, and because you also have an Acer, have a good read of the Posts from #430 [My post] right through to #446 [Brinks Post]. This will give you some idea of what I went through when updating my Audio driver, and how it all worked out. At the moment you find yourself in a situation much as I was at that time.

Pay particular heed to the advice to save the Installation File to your desk... Read more

I have spent a lot of time browsing around the threads here. I have found
a lot of very similar threads, but not what I am looking for. If there is one,
I would be happy if someone pointed me in the right direction.

I am using Vista Ultimate x64. I have a Gigabyte M57SLI-S4 Rev. 2.0 Motherboard.
It has integrated Realtek HD Audio Chipset ALC883.

I would like to know if I can get Realtek HD Audio Manager running on Vista x64 again.
I was using XP x64 in the past but ever since I have moved to vista it is not there. Now, yes I am aware that without installing the driver (because I am using the one built into windows) the Realtek Audio Manager is not going to be there, I am more wondering if there is anyone who has gotten this to successfully work. I have tried the driver from Gigabyte's Website with no success. However, I have not tried any directly from Realtek.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.
More Information: (Not Necessary)
I would like to have my computer do a few things that it used to do in XP where it asks what I just plugged in to the slot instead of assuming I only have 1 speaker and 1 Microphone. I would also like the ability to record from what is sometimes called "Stereo Mix" or "Wave Mix". Basically record without a Mic. I have gone into the vista control panel and selected "Show Disabled" and "Show Disconnected" but with no avail. Again Thanks.

A:Realtek Audio Manager (Yes Again)

Hi, bretzero, and welcome to the forums.

Use the Realtek driver. It works well in Vista x64.

They just released 2.10 a couple of days ago.

I built my rig in April, and my eVGA mobo has the same one, I believe....I am in Windows 7 and haven't tried installing the drivers for it in here yet so I cannot be 100% sure....

A:Realtek Audio Manager, where have you gone!

Hi Jon and welcome to Vista Forums

Vista only has a basic audio driver included. To obtain full functionality, including the audio manager, you need to install the latest Realtek driver. See Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version for details on the latest release and Device Manager - Install Driver for my recommended method of installation.
