I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

My Windows 7 basically blew up and is no longer working. I tried a one-key recovery as well which utterly failed. As a last resort I tried using Windows 7 recovery disks sent by Lenovo. There are 4 disks 1,2,3, and an additional disk. Everything seemed to be going somewhat smoothly, although slow up until disk 3. The screen shows

"Current Item: ApplyOs" "Recover process is running please don't remove your power adapter."

It's been like this for days. The blue bar load bar under it seems to still be running. Tried again, this time with 4 different disks sent by Lenovo. The first 3 disks went a bit faster, but the end result was still the same, getting stuck on "ApplyOs". Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Hello all.  I have a lenovo ideapad z560 with win7 home premium.

Around 1 -2 years back I upgraded it to win 10 home insider preview.

Everything was fine until 5 months before....  it wasn't intercepting internet connection..... after much hassle I called in the technician and the problem solved but not fully..... sometime it would persist then I used internet forums to solve it temporarily.

Last week same internet problem surfaced.....  shoes as connected but no pages loaded in any browser.....

Did a system reset successfully....  then after few minutes it was a blue screen showing that all processes died....

Did a reset again but it said reset failed....

And the system hanged....  I switched it off....  and tried to restart but it shows a black screen after lenovo logo screen.....

Tried hardware unplugging.... draining out power supply.... all f1 -f10 buttons don't work.... no safe mode options available.... one key recovery doesn't work for win 10 .... pressing power button for 30 mins.... etc etc etc....

But the system keeps rebooting every few minutes with blank window after lenovo logo....

Calling technician isn't option cos I can't afford it now....  purchased in Oct 2011....  dunno if it still lies in warranty....

Please help.  Thanks in advance.

Hello, yesterday I've bought a laptop Lenovo Ideapad 310-15ISK however, i'm not able to properly install Windows 10.I've burned Windows on USB stick using Windows Media Creation tool.I've launched installation on my new laptop and actually everything was OK.After reset (after 1st part of the installation), I've received the blue screen with an error "inaccessible boot device".I've tried to do it few times, but nothing helped (e.x. I used GPT, EFI, disabled hot-keys, disabled secure boot, disabled fast boot).Hardware is definitely OK (I installed later Ubuntu and it works perfectly). Probably sth is wrong with Windows drivers to this disk (ADATA SU800 SATA). How can I install Windows 10?

I am having issues with onekey recovery because I am trying to factory reset my laptop. I have used it before without issues, but I believe it may have happened after I tried out Windows 10 but then reverted back to Windows 7. If I try to use OneKey recovery through the program, when I select the option to reformat, it just restarts my computer normally. If I try to use the onekey recovery key on the keyboard, it just turns on my computer normally. Any solutions to this issue?

If you mean the factory recovery files try Lenovo for a recovery disc set if available. If you mean for the OS alone just download the MEDIA CREATION TOOL from microsoft which you will use to download the OS installer. As to drivers go to the download site for your unit to download them.

So, long story short. I accidentally deleted my recovery partition and now it seems like the only thing that will get my laptop up and running normally again is a recovery disc from Lenovo. I just got off the phone with customer service and they informed me that recovery discs can not be ordered in USB form.  This is where my main issue is. My Lenovo Ideapad Y500 laptop did not come with a CD-ROM Drive. With that being said, I do not want to spend $69 on a recovery disc that will require me to purchase an external CD-ROM drive that potentially won't even work... When I asked customer support if I could return and get a refund for the disc if it will not boot through an external CD-ROM drive, they said no. Has anyone been able to run a recovery disc from an external cd-rom drive successfully? Any suggestions? I'm at my wit's end with this thing...

Hi avraham123 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

This is the main guideline  (click highlighted link for full article) regarding corrupted partition.

If the Hidden Partition is destroyed:
If the hidden partition is destroyed or replaced hard drive, you won't be able to restore the system through Lenovo OneKey Recovery software. You need to utilize the Recovery DVD, read more from below related articles:How to recover the system to Factory settings with Recovery DiscsHow can I get a system recovery CD, DVD or USB from Lenovo
Note:
If you accidentally uninstall OneKey Recovery, you may go to D drive. Find the folder named as Drivers. Open it to find out OneKey_Recovery folder --> find setup.exe. Click on it and follow the on-screen instructions. OneKey Recovery will be reinstalled.
If you are unable to reinstall OneKey Recovery, you are recommended to contact local service provider or read How can I get a system recovery CD, DVD or USB from Lenovo for more information to get recovery media

As discussed here are suggested steps that you can also try if repair failed .
1) Make sure that recovery partition is there or not. As I said, go to Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Disk Management and check.
2) Second, When the laptop is shutdown, try pressing the NOVO button and see if the laptop starts in the recovery mode.

Hello Please help. Lenovo IdeaPad p580 - Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit edition. Today my system hung. So I waited for it to get normal but it did not for 15 minutes or so. Then forced shutdown it. Restarted and it stayed jammed for 30 mins or more on Starting Windows screen. After that tried Safe Mode with Networking (Displayed cursor only and did not display anything else for very long time), SafeMode with Command prompt (did not move after CLASSPNP.SYS file), tried using recovery disk it gave me first screen to select language and country then on second screen gave Startup Recovery/Repair thing but did not allow to do anything as cursor kept in spinning mode. Waited for more than one hour. After that tried to use ONEKEY Recovery and before that backed up my data via portable linux drive which I alway keep handy. OneKey Recovery failed (Note- I have not resized or deleted or tempered that partition so there is no chance for it to fail). Turned off the system clicked on OneKey Recovery and it gave me a screen with a wallpaper and cursor only. Did not give anything else. Tried getting an ISO from microsoft but they said my key is an OEM so contact the manufacturer. Here on Lenovo website they say my product is out of warranty. When I want to use that OneKey Recovery it is not working just wow there goes my magic wand which I have saved to use in dry days. I know I can always FORMAT my system and reinstall it. I've had my ideapad (flex 15 20309) for about 2 years and was working fine. Around 5 months ago I noticed my touchscreen wouldn't work any more. Sometimes after a reboot it would seem to come back to life but now I can't figure out what is going on. I seem to have Microsoft Windows 10 home as the operating system. I can't find any setting or keystroke or anything that can get my touchscreen back to life. Help! My touchpad (mousepad) works fine and I'm using a USB mouse as well because I don't like using the mousepad. The only thing I think has changed in the last 5 or 6 months was probably windows 10 and the regular updates that are done via windows 10.

I tried installing Ubuntu on the laptop, and there I got multitouch scrolling even without drivers, so I don't really think the touchpad can't support scrolling.I'm running latest Windows 10 with latest drivers from Lenovo support page. Why is this problem? Is it the Windows or the official drivers for Windows are bugged?(It won't work with 7/8.1 either, tried them all)

Seems like the problem is that Lenovo thought this would be acceptable place to cut costs (not having any touchpad scrolling).  They are very very wrong, this thing is going right back to the store.

Hi iShkilenok ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

You can try to uninstall energy management and the reinstall it back from the support site .
Restart the pc and test.

If same issue , you may have to physically open the cover and inspect the fan if it would be able spin.
While turned of try to test if the fan will smoothly move by pushing it with a small stick.
Check if there are clogged materials preventing it to spin like strands of fibers and dust.
Use a blower as needed .

If you don't have the tools or experience on doing this best that you have a service technician in your location do it for you.  Herewith are the hardware manual for review and guide.

My computer had a few freezes last week and I had to simply turn it off, which may have scrambled its brains.  It only boots into System Recovery, which doesn't work.
I've tried all the various options, including changing drive letter designations from the command prompt, but nothing helps.
There were two Recovery volumes, one on C:.  I deleted that volume thru DiskPart, and then the oS moved to D:
I can boot from the Windows setup disk, but it only offers a reinstall - not a repair.  I don't really want to do a reinstall because the computer is now 5 years old.
I just ordered a new one, but would like to be able to use this one until the other arrives.
I've backed up my data (before the problem developed).
How can I change the OS drive back to C:?  OR How can I boot to what is now the OS drive, which oddly is D:?
Thank you.

A:OS is now on E: instead of C:; Recovery doesn't work

Do you get the Advanced Boot Options when you tap F8 at boot? If you do then you should be able to select Repair Computer from the options and then do a Startup Repair.

I just bought a recovery USB, I want to reset my computer to factory settings and reinstall the operating system. I started up the process and got into the Recovery Manager. It let me start the process for the recovery preparation. It looks like that portion is about to finish, then gives the error "Windows cannot find 'D:\System.sav\Util\Rstone.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." If I click OK to get past the error, it tells me "Recovery preparation is complete" and prompts me to reboot, then sends me through a loop, ending in that error. The packet that came with the USB only says to Contact HP Support at www.hp.com/support in the event of errors...but when I try to contact support it tells me that my laptop is out of warranty. Which I'm sure is true, but I JUST paid over $50 for a USB recovery drive that doesn't seem to work, and I never even got any sort of email confirmation on the purchase. HP has provided no way for me to reach out beyond these forums. Can anyone help? Either with the OS installation or with how to get a refund on a recovery USB that seems to be missing a file?

Computer's off, it's been off since morning, and I can't get this thing to work! The power button isn't lit, nothing. I press it, and it doesn't turn on the computer at all... I've tried doing these things: -use battery only-use charger only-remove charger and battery, hold button for 30+ seconds, and try again.... none of those work... is my laptop fried? it sucks because i JUST bought this thing a month ago.
