I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I love my Macbook Pro, smooth, simple, quick and high quality.  But when you need a windows machine for work purposes what better than opting for a Lenovo? I bought this Yoga 500 just over a week ago and the mouse pointer keeps disappearing on me, if I don't reboot to get it back, it decisdes eventually to make an appearance, this is annoying enough because while I am ok using a touch screen, I'd rather not for many applications and just use my mouse. Let's not talk about the painful operation of the mouse "buttons" at the bottom of the touch pad, lets instead wonder how the mouse pointer could be so jerky around the screen? Should I now be cursing the day I decided to buy this Lenovo? Is there a fix for these issues and if so when will they come or indeed is there anyone with similar problems that may have already fixed these? Thanks

I have an X1 Yoga (1st generation) laptop. Whenever I flip the screen around to use it as a tablet, and then flip it back to resume using it as a laptop, the mouse pointer disappears. The touch screen continues to function, but the touchpad fails to work. I can get it back by closing the computer and then waking it up again, but it is quite annoying to do this. Is this a known problem?

Hello everyone, I've been reading several posts related to mouse pointer issues, but none of them has been helpful so far. Every 5 minutes, my mouse pointer randomly disappears while I'm using it; it's not completely invisible though as some parts of the background such as buttons, tabs or scroll bars darken as I scroll over them, as if they were being selected by the pointer. To bring it back, I usually move the mouse around (or my finger on the touchpad) randomly for approximately 5-10 seconds. That usually does the trick. That problem occurs on a regular basis, when using the touchpad or the mouse, and for no particular reason. My computer is brand-new, and I've been having that problem since day one; it's become really tiresome because it keeps interrupting whatever I'm doing.  I'd be really grateful if anyone could help me with this; thank you for your thoughts.

Hello, my name is Daniel Demtrio and this is my first post on this forum. Recently i bought a Lenovo Yoga 710 14IKB. I absolutely love the laptop, and meanwhile i had some problems with the fan noise that i did manage to resolve using de Notebook Fan Control that was recomended on the forum, i still have other problem. My mouse pointer is constantly dissapering and reapearing, or just changes to a low resolution appearence. I've updated all the drivers, i tried all options of the mouse, i've seen a lot of tutorials or solutions, but still i got this problem.I don't think that the problem is related to the mouse or touchpad driver, i think is something related with the graphics card or something related. But i've made all the updates, and i also tried to reverse the updates, but still i it made no difference, i still have the problem.Anyone are having the same problem? Thanks a lot,Daniel Demtrio

When I do a windows shortcut (Ctrl+C) for example then immediately try to move the mouse the mouse will remain stuck in place and after about one second it will then move. This same problem occurs for Ctrl+A and even using the volume keys in Windows 10. I cannot for the life of me figure it out but it is very annoying as I use shortcuts all the time.

A:do you have to use Sim card in Lenovo yoga c630 to use the device?

No. You don't need to have a SIM card for the Lenovo Yoga c630 to be able to use it. The SIM card slot is used on the laptop if you want to have a cellular data connection to be able to access the internet if there isn't a Wi-Fi connection available. You will need to have a data plan on the SIM card that you are going to use. Cheers

I'm not sure this issue will get to who it needs to, but I have found a couple of issues with the Yoga C630 WOS Firmware version 1.33. First is that it no longer boots off of USB keys that are larger than 32GB without a little... help...  If you put 2 USB keys that are larger than 32GB in (so 1 in each USB port), then the one on the left side (sim card, power led) will show up as "UEFI: USB Hard Drive", whereas the one on the right (headphone jack, power button) will show up as "UEFI: USB USB Hard Drive" and it will boot from the device in the left port.If only 1 USB key larger than 32GB is plugged in, it shows up as "UEFI: USB USB Hard Drive" and will not boot from it, even when selecting it with the boot prompt.  It simply boots into Windows.  Booting from a 128GB or even 256GB USB key was possible without the hoops of connecting multiple devices on the 1.23 firmware, so it would be nice if whatever change was made that makes this not work, could be reverted? The second (possible) issue is that virtualization support isn't turned on.  This is unfortunate as it means that WSL2 (Windows Subsystem for Linux version2) is not supported on the Lenovo Yoga C630 WOS device, whereas the Samsung Galaxybook2 which has a firmware dated the same DOES have the support turned on, and WSL2 works on it.  It would be nice if the developers behind the firmware could enable the support.  I'm not sure if this is the correct forum, or how to get these... My Intellimouse pointer disappears from time to time in my windows 98 second edtiton.

A:Mouse pointer disappears

Do you have the Intellipoint software installed? Has the mouse always done this? If not, when did it start? What programs/hardware were installed when this started? Is it only when typing (that's a feature in MS's Intellipoint software!)? If you have the Intellipoint software installed: Uninstall and reinstall it. If not, goto control panel->system->device manager and uninstall the mouse and reboot.

Dear Friends:

Sometimes for no apparent reason my mouse pointer disappears. It usually happens on the Internet but once I go off it continues off line as well. Its really weird, you can see the mouse pointer and then as you pass over certain areas on the page it seems to go behind certain things on the page and then come out on the other side of them. An example is when youre on a site and go to click on a link of some kind as soon as the pointer gets to it, it disappears and if you continue to move it, it come out on the other side. I also notice that if I go to write on a word document, the pointer is only seen on the tool bars and totally disappears on the page. Please help me if you can, it drives me crazy. The only thing I can do is turn off the computer, turn it back on and work until it decides to do it again.
God Bless

Hi unclebob, Welcome to TSG !!
What Operating System are you using?
Try going to start, settings, controlpanel. Click on the Mouse applet. Go to pointer settings. Move the slider to the left one notch at a time to see if that works. Hit apply after each time. Try Unchecking pointer trails.

Hello, I have a Dell laptop 15R 2nd Gen i-5 processor running Windows 7 Home 64bit.

The problem I am having is this: Mouse disappears on right side of screen. The entire right side of screen (not just in the lower corner). If I move the mouse 6 inches to the right off screen, then I would have to move it 6 inches to the left again until it re-appears. If I moved the pointer 1 foot to the right, I would have to move it 1 foot to the left until the pointer re-appeared again.

It's as if the pointer kept going on to a hidden screen??

Looks like a mismatch between physical resolution and the larger virtual desktop resolution. Should that be the case, a few users prefer the larger space to work with and can navigate and bring into view the unseen parts as needed.

Hi all:I hope that this is the right board for this problem, even though it may not be primarily a "Touch" issue.  My problem is that I keep losing my pointer/cursor on my HP laptop. Here are my specs and details of the problem based on a set of questions that I found on another thread: What make / model computer? HP Pavilion 15-n216us What operating system? Windows 10 64bit upgraded from Win 8. Does the mouse left alone disappear or are you clicking on something and then it just disappears? It only (and always) happens when I touch the screen. The cursor disappears instantaneously when I touch the screen. It happens whether I have a USB mouse plugged in or not. How do you normally resolve the issue? Except for restarting the laptop, the only way that I can get the cursor back is to go to Personalize/Themes/Mouse Pointer settings. I then have to close the Mouse Pointer settings windows (clicking OK) while shaking the mouse. How is your mouse connected to your computer? Wireless but as stated above, it also happens when the mouse is not plugged in. One screen or two screens? If one, have you ever used two? One screen, never two. More information:1) The cursor is not set to disappear when typing.2) I read that this could be a problem with the Touchpad, so I downloaded the Synaptics Pointing Device driver for my laptop from the HP website. When I attempted to install it, I got a message that I already have a newer driver than the... Read more

That pretty much says it. The app/game can run quite well but drives me insane trying to use the pointer to click on hotspots. Sometimes the pointer is only visible when it rolls over a hotpiont and lights it up. Otherwise, the application runs quite well. Examples this week are CIV 4 COLONIZATION (but not CIV IV), GUILD WARS (prob the worst). Earlier games like AGE OF WONDERS 3 seem to work fine. I do see this mostly in games.

The other issue I have a lot is that I can install and run a game from the CD/DVD but then the game will not play as it cannot see the disk it just booted from and claims it is not in the DVD drive.

What is causing these and can anything be done? I have tried all the usual compatibility fixes. I have even run them on a VMPlayer XP emulator with no success.

It reminds me of the issues with DOOM TRILOGY on WIN XP. That was dos driver issue for the mouse. However, this problem occured right out of the box before and after updates installed.

I had similar problems with my home HP laptop a while back. What do they have in common? The Synaptics pointer driver. I uninstalled it on my new Dell Precision 5510, and all is well again.
You lose gestures and have a basic mouse, but it's far better than dealing with the annoyance. Maybe Dell has the clout to get the driver fixed finally?
In the meantime, I'm happy to be gesture free.

My mouse pointer disappears whenever it goes on top of text in XP MS word, outlook, IE, etc.
Not sure why. And can not find setting or option to correct it.

A:Mouse pointer disappears whenever it goes on top of text in MS word, outlook, IE, etc

Your pointer should disappear over words. It should change to an I BAR.

I am using W98 so XP may vary - but first I would go into CONTROL PANEL and MOUSE and look at the POINTERS tab and see what you have listed for TEXT SELECT. It is usually one of the "Beams". If it is blank (and I don't think it is allowed to be blank) then you need to select one. XP might let you choose a color which may have it look missing.

Go look and see if that helps and if not get back to us.

Hi there,

I've Googled this problem, and searched these forums, but it seems that no one has come up with a solution as yet. Apparently this problem has been persistent all the way back to XP (from the reports I've seen from XP users in 2006).

History: I purchased a new HP DV2210US laptop in March preloaded with Vista Home Premium. Then, a week ago I purchased a 22" Westinghouse LCD monitor. Setup was effortless, and the additional real estate has been great. However, there's a problem.

Whenever my laptop goes to sleep/hibernate and I resume the session, the mouse pointer has disappeared (on the 22" external monitor). The mouse pointer is still fine and present on the laptop. Heck, I believe this happens even if ten minutes pass and the screen goes to sleep (but not the whole computer). Additionally, it doesn't seem to matter which monitor (laptop of 22" external) is the #1 Monitor or #2 Monitor or the primary monitor. Every configuration I've tried has had the same problem.

Reports of XP users in 2006 suggest that the issue might be the nVidia drivers? Or is it Windows?

Does anyone know of a solution for this problem?

Regards,

Abe

Mouse Pointer Disappears in IE when trying to add Google as Default Search Engine and Completely in Chrome. Solutions require IE Performance Troubleshooter which is missing in MS10
Mouse pointer started disappearing in Chrome and no solutions have worked. It appears there is a driver update to MS10 from wch.cn - Ports which I can not roll back without a full restore of MS10 to previous date. At first, changing Chrome:Settings
(turning off hardware acceleration) worked, for about an hour. Giving up on Chrome, started using IE10, but I want to use Google search engine. Cannot add the Google add on so that I can change the default search engine. Symptoms include the mouse pointer
disappearing on any Google page or related page and even using the touch screen, Google add on will not add. This bug (or virus) pretty much prevents use of Google and Chrome and how there is not a solution for this as of yet, by either MS or Google, is beyond
me.

During use of a variety of applications my mouse pointer will intermittently 'stick' when I'm manuevering it on the screen.  For as long as I keep trying to move it it remains stuck.  If I pause any movement attempt for a few seconds it will again start working.  This happens randomly - but as often as several times a minute.  I don't recall this happening until a couple of weeks ago.   I keep thinking (hoping) a new driver update will fix the issue - but so far nothing has helped. I've got all Windows updates.  And the Lenovo Companion System Update doesn't find anyting needed either. One clue I saw online related to it possibly being a Display Driver issue.  When I went to the Intel site and found a newer Intel UHD Display Driver (ver 24.xxxxx) I thought maybe I had found the problem.  My Display Driver shows ver 23.xxxxxxx.  But after downloading the updated driver and attempting to install - my effort is thwarted by a message that this driver is not intended for my operating system.  I have the very latest Windows 10 update (April, 2018) and I cannot find any further update. Any suggestions?

Then using the PC is a nightmare.  I have updated all the drivers and I have even made a complete format but the problem continues.Any solution or someone who has the same problem?I'm desperate. The 8GB/128GB model is usually available on the website and is also available at most Best Buy locations. The 4GB/128GB is sometimes available on the website. Last year I had the laptop sent to Lenovo to replace my screen because my brightness would not change. Since then, the wifi adapter would "disappear*" randomly, though not often, sand I would have to reinstall the intel WLAN drivers to fix it. I though it wasn't going to be a problem. However, in the past two days, the wifi driver would disappear every time I turn on the laptop. Reinstallation did not bring it back and repairs did not work. I had to resort to using an external wireless adapter. The volume down button seems to be stuck down, not physically but more like it was "stickied".*disappear- the drivers would be missing, not disabled. Device manager does not show a wifi adapter existing.

I am experiencing strange mouse pointer behaviour after my laptop has been running for a while and a program is working in the background. The mouse pointer is displayed in a very low resolution, while jumping up to another part of the screen. So usually, the mouse cursor looks like this:  But when the problem occurs, it looks like this (and jumps up to another part of the screen):  As mentioned, the problem only occurs after my laptop has been running for a while (this may take a day, but sometimes only an hour) but when it does, it keeps occuring untill I restart. This has been happening since I bought the system about two months ago. System: Lenovo ideapad 510S14ISKOperating system: Windows 10 I already tried:- updating my drivers (using Lenovo Companion)- reinstalling windows (while keeping my files)- uninstalling Lenovo System Interface Foundation as recommended here- unchecking the box "enhance pointer precision", also as recommended here The problem occurs both with my external mouse plugged in and plugged off. Any ideas what might be causing this problem?

Maybe related to this issue, maybe not: I also noticed a strange resolution in a few other places. For example, in the image below you can see that the text in the left box is displayed much sharper than that in the right box.  This occurs also after my laptop has just restarted and is of course much less anoying. Nonetheless, I thought it would be interesting to mention as the two issues might be related.

I've been through a number of threads, much older, and haven't found a solution, hoping someone can help.   I recently bought a Yoga C740, 500GB SSHD, 12GB RAM.  64 bit Windows 10 OS.  Intel Core i7 10th gen processor. Also purchased the Wireless YOGA optical mouse that has both USB and Bluetooth connectivity.   Problem - that YOGA mouse freezes up for 5-30 seconds completely randomly.  It'll do it after it has sat for a minute, or right in the middle of active use, so it doesn't seem to be a power/sleep setting.  It's not powering off, it's just not reacting in any way with the PC. Eventually, it just starts working again, maybe for 20 minutes, maybe for 30 seconds.   I initially thought it was a Bluetooth issue, but discovered the same thing happens when connected via USB dongle, no improvement at all. I have other Bluetooth and USB keyboards, mice, no issues with any of them, they all work normally. I've disabled/uninstalled/reinstalled/updated every driver I can think of, no improvement.   With all that considered, it seems to be specific to this YOGA optical mouse, and I'm struggling to identify/correct the issue.  Has anyone encountered this, any suggestions for fixing it?  Hoping maybe I'm just missing a buried setting somewhere specific to this mouse.  Thanks
