Enable WOL on HP Pavilion G6 1210tx in BIOS

Q: Enable WOL on HP Pavilion G6 1210tx in BIOS

I know this is an older laptop, but with the "Realtek PCIe GBE family" controller, I can see in Windows 10 that WOL is supported by this controller. In the BIOS however (firmware version F.66), there isn't a clear "Enable WOL" option. Does my notebook support WOL?

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

It runs windows 7 smoothly everything works fine except Video Grphics and Bluetooth.   i Need Your Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A:Re: I Need Windows 7 64 bit drivers for HP ENVY m6-1210tx

Hi: You need this graphics driver... This package provides the driver that enables the Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. If high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) video output is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver. http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp56501-57000/sp56947.exe If you let me know what model wireless network adapter your notebook has, I will then post the link to the bluetooth driver you need. If you don't know what model wlan adapter your notebook has, go to the device manager, click to expand the Network Adapters device manager category, and there you will find the name and model number of the wireless network adapter. The bluetooth radio is part of the wireless card.

Hello. I am trying to install 64-bit version of Ubuntu through Virtual Box, however, VT-X is required for the 64-bit support. Reading the documentation, it seems that the processor supports the VT-X, however, I can't find the option in the BIOS to enable this feature. How can I enable it the other way? Or is there an update to a BIOS that has this feature as an option?

A:HP PAVILION CTO H8-1070T- Onboard Graphics- Enable

Hi: You should be fine. My 8200 Elite PC had the ports blocked too. That is probably because our PC's came with add on video cards, and HP probably didn't want hundreds of phone calls from folks saying their video doesn't work (since they hooked the monitor up to the wrong video port). If you still have graphics, first uninstall the graphics adapter and driver in the device manager (under the display adapters device manager category), uninstall any related grahics programs in the control panel>programs menu. Do not restart the PC as prompted.  Instead, shut it down, unplug it, remove the graphics card. Remove the covers to the O/B graphics ports (mine were plastic). Connect your monitor to the applicable port (DVI or VGA). Plug in and turn on the PC and the BIOS should automatically have switched to the O/B graphics. Then install the driver you need for the Intel graphics adapter.

From what I can tell it should already be enabled, but they simply don't have an option in the BIOS to toggle it.

Are you getting an error that its not enabled by a hypervisor/virtualization software?

Double check it using these method: https://www.shaileshjha.com/how-to-...windows-8-windows-vista-or-windows-7-machine/

Also some AV programs can disable access to it such as Avast.

Normally, your USB BIOS would only be required to allow BOOTing a USB HD.

Your Belkin USB is not accessed at BOOT time, so stop fussing with BIOS.

If you have modem-->router setup, then the drivers are not required at all!

Use the Modem->Router using Ethernet cable and from the router->pcs as well.

Otherwise, modem-->pc(USB connected) requires a driver.

Does this clarify/help?

Can you guys show me the way to enable wireless at BIOS?

A:How can I enable wireless at BIOS

Ngoctraiden9x, welcome to the windows 7 forum.

The bios is where the hardware is turned on/off/configured in most cases. For your computer to use the wireless, you have to have the hardware drivers installed and the software to control the wireless adapter.

Normally, when you turn your machine on the bios recognizes your hardware devices and then as your Operating system loads, it load all the drivers for your devices and at that time your wireless would become active.

Is this what you meant when you said enable wireless at bios?

Some bios screens will allow you to turn on and off devices. If this is what you mean, then by entering bios, go thru the screens and look for the wireless. Some machines have a physical wireless switch or a function key toggle.

Hi there guys - any help will be much appreciated

I had a bit of a problem with Malware which led me to reinstall windows 8. I had also at the time been trying to install Linux to dual boot beside it. However, upon reinstalling I got the annoying watermark saying "Secureboot isn't configured correctly."
Having decided I would rather remove the watermark and having gone back into the BIOS (with a reinstall) and trying to enable secure boot I get a message - "CSM is Loaded! Disable the CSM via Setup and repeat operation after Restart".
However there is, as far a I can see no option to disable the CSM in my bios - I've tried disabling anything related to Legacy and reinstalling both Ubuntu and Windows 8 as well as wiping the drive and jumping the CMOS as well as updating the BIOS.

Am very much at a loss and feel I've tried every permutation in the BIOS. Could possibly be an incompatibility with graphics card, but wouldn't know where to start on that end if it is.

Many thanks for your time!

I am trying to setup up my home computer to work with WOL. I have selected the "Allow this device to being the computer out of standby" in the Device Manager under Network Adapters. After doing a google search, I have also discovered that I need to enable WOL in my computer BIOS settings. I have reached the BIOS settings, but I cannot find any selection to enable WOL. I think the computer is new enough (2 years old) to be WOL compatible, though. How do I turn it on in BIOS? There appears to be no manual for this motherboard, and there is nothing about it in the Dell XPS 400 Owner's Manual.
