I have an important question of a great update in IE.

Q: I have an important question of a great update in IE.

What about make it possible to when fans are opened, one can have undelying fans too for each fans if one like. I find it very usefull if one is trying to study lets say wikipedia, where you need to find underlying facts about the fact you are reading about.
Let me give an example..

Atom
-----
Proton, and fan next to it maybe could be neutron and so on. <--under here is the underlying fan of the first top fan.
Or a fan under a fan under a fan and so on. Would make it much easier if one is searching and reading the undelying things about the top thing you are studying.
Reason for underlying fans is to make it easier and not confusing when going back and forth in what you read.
And on the next fan you can have other underlying fans for the next topic of choosing that also ofc.

Is it possible to get this update?

Thx in advance.

Preferred Solution: I have an important question of a great update in IE.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I realize that a lot of things make up a good home network with great speeds, i.e., nic card or wireless network adapter, fast browser choice, router speeds, mbps you sign up for with your ISP, and many other factors I have probably missed.

Saying all the above, how important is the computer itself, i.e., processor speed, memory, graphics card.

Hi guys,

I'm wondering why this security patch for a zero day flaw in IE 11 is not checked by default? Surely it should be.

Here's another tricky one.
This important security update will not update. It is only 606Kb.
Microsoft says it is caused by a virus problem. I have Norton 360 installed. Norton say it is not a virus.
Microsoft say pay us $120 to fix it. I say I can't afford to pay that for something when I have no way of knowing exactly what the problem really is.
This has been going on since November 2014. All the other updates are installed immediately but not this one.

At the first time I bought my P52. It comes with no problem. But after I update it, it has many problem such as 3 times boot, IM software can't found and etc. Then I found the solution from this community (thank you so much) and my loved P52 come back again. Now everything has no problem. so when lenovo or Microsoft releases any update. I am very hesitant to update my P52 and also not sure I'll miss any important update or not. >< How about you guys?

A:I am very hesitant to update my P52 and also not sure I'll miss any important update or not. ><

I'm still a subscriber to the theory "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Whether it's OS updates for my iPhone or software updates for my computers, I tend to wait. Been burned too many times. In fact, I'm a bit annoyed with Windows 10 in that you can't stop the updates. I rarely update my Windows 7 machines in that everything works just fine. I'll wait until an update has been in the wind for months before applying it just to make sure.

Security updates are pretty important. Driver updates, not so much unless you're experiencing an issue.  BIOS updates are almost always a good thing, but still worth investigating before applying.

I hope this helps.

Hello all

When executing Windows Update, I experienced that one important update is not automatically selected to download and install.

I like to understand why this is?

Also I like to understand if I should always install all important updates, even the ones not by default selected?

In this example, the not selected update refers to MS09-054 security update. Is this a manual installed security update?
Does it not apply to me?

Thanks a lot in advance!

A:Windows Update, important update not selected

Not all users experience the issue that this update resolves. MS is providing you the oportunity to use the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" logic.

I applied the update even though I have no evidence that I need it. Yet.

Some updates will adversely affect some users. Not applying updates may adversely affect you.

What can you do? My advice - apply all updates. Unless you have a good reason not to.

See this tutorial:

Advanced Boot Options
Do the part that turns on Boot Logging.

Then after you boot your system, read the log.
You will likely see the system waiting for device drivers or other things to load.
Sometimes if you uninstall something like Norton AV, it doesn't remove the stuff from the registry and the machine sits waiting for a driver or other software to load, that no longer exists on the system.

It should give some clue. Post the log when you get it(make sure it doesn't have any text with your real name or any of that before posting.)

edit: btw if you did uninstall a Norton or Nero software, you need to download a removal or cleanup tool to get everything off.

If ever I back-up a file in CD (.exe, .rar .scr) with Virus like
Win32.Virtub.Gen.12 = reader_s.exe

and copy-paste it again to new/fresh copy of Windows XP.
Do I get infected by copying it only?

What I mean is, if the file (.exe) is infected as long as you never accessed it or install it you will never be get infected again?

And if it is .HTML, as long as you never open it with Internet you will never get infected again?

I'm asking it because, I'm in the process of getting back my back-up to my computer.

Upgraded to win 10 from win 7pro. In device manager it shows a problem. (Dell Latitude E6420). My device manager opened up the cd/dvd device and reads "hl-dt-st dvd rom dv30n". I assume i'm missing a driver. Any ideas? Anyone aware what this is about?

A:Greetings all. Newbie here. Great site! Question on cd/dvd problem.

Consider reinstalling win 7. Your model is not approved for upgrading by Dell and might not have suitable win 10 drivers. Wait to get win 10 on a new computer.
You can try Device Manager, right click on cd drive, Update driver to let windows find a win 10 driver.

Greetings

I love that site. Actually, if you had looked in our directory under WindowsNT ( http://www.helponthe.net/links/Operating_Systems/Windows_NT/ ) you would have seen that it is the top link, which I added the day after the directory went live

As for your missing icon, it is unlikely that Win2K needs a quickres feature as you can easily rightclick on the desktop, select properties and make the change there without the need for a reboot, as some versions of Win95 needed.

If you want it there for convinience, then there might be an option for it in it's setup program, which you will likely find in the control panel.

Cheers

Hello, this is my first post on the Tech Support Forums. Greetings!

Anyway, my machine was brought in to be cleaned up and everything just the other day due to a cacophony of reasons. An error box popped up stating that; "Windows will shut dstart...." the text went on. I was freaked out about the shut dstart bit as it was an obvious typo and I instantly thought 'Trojan virus' regarding my system. Obviously I could have been completely incorrect, but that was my first assumption during a panic. My laptop also once shut down of its own accord whilst I was away from it. It stated that it had shut down to a power issue despite being fully charged and always being plugged in. I never plug out the charger.

I will get to the point now, apologies. After getting my laptop back AVG was installed on it and I ran a few scans over the first two days without much issue on my comp. Had minor issues such as "file signed with incorrect digital signature." Tonight, however, I ticked a few boxes concerning the system scan in an attempt to make it more thorough. It scanned over a million objects and detected 27 problems, 26 of which were tracking cookies which I assumed just accrued from sites I visited. However, there was one issue found titled; Virus found Hosts. Its severity rating was High and, even after a couple of Google searches, found almost no useful information about it.

Could anybody help me out, or put my mind at ease? It's kind of put the frighteners ... Read more

A:IMPORTANT new question from a newbie

Why not use this old drive as your D: or whatever, and just use the new one for your operating system?

Only way that I know of to keep everything and keep it runing lik eit is now, is to Ghost it. What that does is copies EVERYTHING from that hard drive to your new hard drive INCLUDING the errors.

Why not post a HiJack log on here and see if someone here can walk you through fixing your problems? That way you will be free of your problems.

Microsoft released quality improvements to the servicing stack for all Windows 10 versions, the component designed to allow users to receive and install Windows updates.

Microsoft states that this critical servicing stack update "addressed an issue in which adding vulnerable boot level components to the Secure Boot disallow list (dbx) may cause the system not to start."

All Windows 10 customers are advised to first update the Windows 10 servicing stack to the latest version before trying to install the KB4515384 and the KB4512578 cumulative updates. Click to expand...

Microsoft states in the servicing stack support document that:

I'm planning on doing clean install of Windows 10 for my PC this weekend. Currently I'm also using W10. I am going to install onto the same hard drive (SSD) as it is currently installed. It will put the older version of W10 into a Windows.old folder which I'm going to back it up to an external hard drive if I ever going to need files from it. Now after that I'll launch a Disk Clean-up to remove previous Windows installations (aka Windows.old) and then I'll remove the older version of W10 from dual boot (if it will be there ofcourse). My question is: are my previously mentioned steps enough to uninstall my older version of W10 and replace it with the new one or will I still have to do something?

Windows will not "uninstall" itself. A clean install will wipe everything from the HDD so be sure to have copied anything you don't want to lose to a different drive. You may also need to save the drivers for devices if you installed any hardware after the initial install of Win10, may have them in the Downloads Folder, that's where mine are.

I know an administrator account is very important as thru this you can do everything. A guest account is limited. Right now Im logged in as the computer administrator. No, that's not true, just make sure that the Windows updates are always done, you have a decent internet security package running and never leave your PC alone logged on as an administrator.

Hello all....I use an email blasting software for my clients and newsletter and this is what happened: I was at my mother's house and accidentally used the wrong server (I do my marketing on a diff. smtp server) and after I did that when I sent emails to my mother's email address (with the isp she is with) she would not receive my emails. I called my domain's company and they said there was no problem on their end as I did tests and my emails went through. I called my mom's isp service and they said there was nothing wrong but to email this email address for "blocked" accounts and they never responded but the weird thing is when I send my mother email's, they go through if I send it from the "online backend" of godaddy rather through my MS Outlook.

To make things worse...I have a client who uses TimeWarner and he doesn't get my emails now either! Again...it works if I log-in on the backend but not through my outlook. Is there a port being blocked? I appreciate the responses as I don't know what to do and I need my main email address to send to clients. Thanks so much for your help and I appreciate everyone's feedback!

btw, it shows up as going through on my side but the other end never receives it and I never get any "rejected" response! Again, it goes through when I email it with GoDaddy's backend....thanks again in advance for the help and time with this!

Hi theshiningeagle,

You can't double your speed, but you can route your traffic.

Effectively, you can tell certain IP ranges to use your Ethernet, and others to use your Wireless.

Microsoft may need a refresher course on what constitutes good software support.

Almost a week after some Windows 10 PCs got trapped in reboot hell, Microsoft finally issued a patch ? make that ?a kludge of a script? ? to finally enable affected Windows 10 users to get their machines working again.
The fix, ?Windows 10 1607 Script fix to unblock update for Windows Insiders,? doesn?t explain what?s going on. It does work, however.

Hey

Sorry if this sounds like a really amateur question, but on some websites I see links to update your drivers via a download, and since you're not installing any new hardware, what's the significance of downloading something onto one of your drivers? How does your computer run better after updating? When do you know to replace the driver you have with a new one?

hi
today i did check for new update
and the windows 8.1 updater found an important update
western digital techologies-other hardware-wd ses device

but i haven't western digital hard drivers ..it'a laptop with a ssd installed

did you notice such upate?

thanks

A:wd ses device in the important update

I didn't get one. Did you install the SSD or did it come with your PC? If you installed it, it could be that the drivers from your old(possibly a WD?) and any registry keys are picked up by Windows update. I've noticed with Ccleaner, it shows a program that is already uninstalled sometimes in Cleaner Applications tab. I then have to go into the registry and do a recursive search for left over keys so it will stop showing up.
Or are you using an USB HDD?

I have Secunia on my Acer Windows 8 laptop. According to latest scan today it's telling me I need an update for Microsoft XML Core Services (MSXML) 4.x That I don't understand since I've updated the laptop every time updates have been offered unless Microsoft failed to send it. (However, I haven't undated to Windows 8.1 yet -- I always hang back on that kind of major update to see what happens with everybody else.) I might be savy about a heck of a lot of things to do with computers but I don't know anything about that particular program. I started to read some stuff on it on the net, however, there's so much disagreement on it I gave up trying to figure out what to do. I hope I can get some good advice on that issue here. HELP!

A:Might Be Missing An Update That Could Be Important

Microsoft only publishes new updates for Windows on Tuesdays at 3am but unless if you don't install those updates those updates will be offered to you later if you choose to do so manually. Windows by default installs security important updates by automatically. To see if that update was installed go to the control panel select "Windows Update" then select "View Update History" Windows is great at managing updates on it's own you can also select not to automatically install Windows updates, and choose which ones to update and install. There is no need for 3rd party software to do this for you.

Hello,
I'am downloading very important files but I'm afraid that my computer might switch off because windows update gave me a notice that the computer will switch off after an update and the maximum amount of time you can postpone the computer to switch off is 4 hours (That's what I done). I will not be able to use the computer for more than 4 hours.
So this is what I did>> I think I turned windows update off by choosing the option of 'Never check for update (not recommended).

Now the question is> Will my computer switch off within 4 hours after I leave it?
If it will, then how can I make it not switch off.

PLEASE NOTE: The download is NOT resumable.
EDIT: I'm using Windows 7.

Thank you for reading.

A:[IMPORTANT] Windows Update

In my experience if you are still using the computer at the end of that 4 hours it will give you another warning and you will be able to postpone it again for another 4 hours. Then repeat process until the download is done. I am not sure if turning updates off will have stopped the countdown.

Hi everyone, I have been having problems installing the kb976932 update for weeks now. I feel like I tried everything. Im about ready to take a sledge hammer to this thing!

My main question, is this really that important?

I am mainly trying to install a printer to my computer which is unsuccessful and one of the troubleshooting suggestion by the printer manufacturer is to make sure the Windows updates are installed. Idk if this could be the problem or not.

A:Is the kb976932 update really that important?

This is Service Pack 1, so it very well could be the answer. I'm not saying that it is because I can't know.

Here's an official Microsoft website for Service Pack 1:

Hello everyone,

I have an problem with my Windows 7 Professional 64 bit system. My problem is similar to this thread but since it's old and one poster mentioned "do not necro-post" I decided to make a new thread.

OK, so I have a problem. When prompt to install an important update, I want to know what I am installing. So I click onto details. This image pops up.
. This problem occurs on other system also but I have rule out the Internet as an issue. I have tried with mobile broadband, direct connection to the modem, tethering with my iPhone (I got it when I worked for Apple sex months) and my Android (sorry, no Windows phone yet, they are too expensive considering my needs)

I am running a Windows 7 Professional 64 bit operating system on a home-built system that has this specification.
Motherboard:
ASRock G41M-GS3
CPU:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 2MB Cache 1 860 MHz X2 FSB @ 1066 MHz
RAM:
8 GB DDR2
GPU:
AMD Radeon HD 5450 or 6350 (the box says 5450 and the AMD update says 6350)

Any thoughts on troubleshooting?

Kind regards
Winky7

It's seems my picture did not work that well from SkyDrive. Here is a link from my Dropbox instead.

Windows Update has often put my system in some interesting situations, and I truly never want to update ever again. I recently reinstalled my system and the last time I did updates, my system prompted me to restart and was instead left hanging on the "shutting down" message for an hour, forcing me to shut it down improperly.

Truth is, I don't use any Microsoft apps except Windows Explorer.. and I only browse sites that I know are generally safe. Instead of using Internet Explorer I use Firefox with NoScript, Ghostery, WOT, Adblock Plus, and I've even updated the main plugins (Java, etc). I also have Malwarebytes and Norton as well.

I've also never understood the importance of driver updates either, my system seems to run the same with or without them. I'm even beginning to think that updating is causing my system to work harder in the background, rather than when it was in factory condition.. but is this true? So many questions...

A:Is Windows Update important?

You have some good anti-malware software and keep Java updated, yet you fail to see the significance of keeping the operating system updated........??????

Fact : your system is more secure and runs better if the OS is updated.

An important windows update keeps popping up in system tray as stated in title. Is there a way to eliminate this crap from Windows update. I really don't think it is important. Can one delete this thing so it does not pop up in system tray as an important update?
