I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I am getting a message on start-up saying the computer has recovered from a serious error (event?) I send the error report as requested and then a window starts to open to Microsoft but doesn't finish opening. After about 5 minutes I close the window and continue doing whatever I was doing.

When I shut the computer down I am (~50% of the time) getting a program not responding message telling me the computer is shutting down something called "...centinel VXD". I can't find a program in add/remove by that name.

Is this some kind of bug?

Hello everybody. I was recently having a problem with the Antimalware Doctor virus, but I believe I've gotten that problem sorted out. I updated all of my antispyware programs, ran the scans, etc. Now, I've got myself a new dilemma. I'm getting an error message everytime I start Windows after I shut down or restart my computer. It reads:

Error loading gersp.dll
The specified module could not be found.

I'll be honest and admit that I haven't the slightest clue to what this means. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all in advance!

Hey guys and gals,

i'm getting this error message on my screen everytime i start windows (see attachment). i typed it into google but i couldn't get a result. does anyone know what it is and how i can resolve the problem?

background info: a few weeks ago i did a system update and it made my computer go completely retarded. i had to turn off my anti-virus program and then shit really hit the fan. i was getting blue screens with error messages, the computer would start up then shut itself down etc. after hours of too-ing and fro-ing i was finally able to start windows normally and turn the anti-virus software back on.

once it was back on there wasn't so many issues, just the error message that i keep getting after start up and the whole system is actually running slower.

Can anyone offer some suggestion on how to rectify the problem?

Thanks for your help,

I have a computer that is getting an error when starting Windows Explorer. The error message reads:

The instruction at "0x77c46fa3" referenced memory at "0x03769000". The memory could not be "written".

Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program.

Clicking on either button does pretty much the same thing. It results in a series of similar messages being displayed and never letting you get to the browser.

This is an XP machine with Service Pack 2 installed.

I am using Firefox to post to this thread. Let me know if you need anymore info.

I still have this problem and not sure or feel experienced enough with a computer to try to fix it myself. I have this error message that comes up, the first time it showed it recovered and the second time it hangs, turns blue with a lot of numbers etc and says that the display driver has stopped working and windows has shut down to prevent damage to work on computer. it says to check newly installed programs which I don't have or drivers and when I go to device manager and check the drivers it says all are correct . I found this site and it shows you may have to correct registry and I know that I would mess this up but it also says you can go and click on fix it for me. I am sending it to you. when I shut the computer down and start it back up I can work normally until it happens again which I noticed has started to happen more. /can you help me. is that fix it for me button ok? I don't have enough knowledge on the computer to do large detailed tasks so that is out. is there somewhere on the computer that keeps track of when problems arise so you can go back to it.

I have WIN XP Internet Explorer 7 A few months ago, I updated to Service pack 3 (had been waiting because I'd heard there were problems at the start and finally decide to do it) I don't think this has anything to do with the error, since it just started a few days ago.

Lately, when WIN comes on, I get an error message box saying

ERROR LOADING C\WINDOWS\WMPRAuil.dll. The specified module could not be found.

I click okay and it still works. Sometimes a box comes up saying Internet Explorer has an error and must close, I click this to close it and it continues on loading.

I have put this in search and looked in the WIN dll files and can't find anything that has that name. Or anything close to that name. Thinking it might be Win Media Player (WMP) I downloaded and reinstalled this again, but it still does it. I tried having it restore to an earlier date and it still does it.

I've looked on sites that have dll files to download and replace, and can't find anything with that name.

One day, after running SuperAntiSpyware I noticed it said a reg problem, broken string. Took it out along with the latest spyware.

Anyone have any ideas, what this is, and how do I fix it? It doesn't seem to be effecting anything, at least too much, that I notice, but I'm now curious as to what it is.

A:Error message when starting IE

I think the fault is likely caused by SwagBucks, which uses the Prodege toolbar (the .DLL reporting the error). To confirm this, you could un-install the SwagBucks toolbar, and see if the error goes away. If it does, and you really don't mind the toolbar reporting your surfing activities, you can re-install it, hopefully without the error.

The first thing you need to do is replace the coin shaped CMOS battery that is responsible for holding those settings, its likely dead. Then you need to enter the BIOS, enter the correct time/date, and all other settings, save and exit.

You may try updating your video drivers. You could also check your startup folder to see if the error appears inside it and remove the check mark next to it to keep it from loading at startup.

Could be remnants of malware that were left in the startup folder (partially removed)

Click Start >type Run in the search and open > in the run box type msconfig > click OK > click the Startup tab > look for the file and uncheck it.

This should stop the error at startup if the .dll file is listed.

I recommend that you take care of the malware issue.

You can probably disable it from starting up automatically in the program itself. Or, go to Start>Run..., type in msconfig and press ENTER. Go to the "startup" tab and find and uncheck the entry, click OK. Restart your PC and confirm the changes (you'll get a message box)

You can boot into msdos (hit f8 and select safe mode) boot into windows goto control panel click on "Add\Remove programs" find the program that she installed, select the button called unistalled or change follow the setup intructions to remove the application.

If that does not work you will have to restore a backup of the regstry. Boot into Msdos Mode (hit F8 after boot) at the command prompt type "scanreg" and select a date before the install of the application.

It looks like something would be corrupt in your user account.
Did you try to repair the OS or to clean the registry using CCleaner?

CCleaner is a free tool which cleans the registry and removes garbage from the HDD.
Try this.

Otherwise you can check the msconfig -> Startup tab.
There you should search for some entries containing the imagusud.dll file and could disable or remove this?

Good luck

Have you already tried reinstalling the webcam driver? You can download it on official Toshiba website:

Before you install it: Remove the current webcam driver and restart your computer. Then try a registry cleaner like Ccleaner and restart again. Now you can install the latest webcam driver.

I hope it works! :)

Hi - was wondering if anyone has any knowledge about this error message when opening outlook 2007:

"Cannot open your default e-mail folders. File access is denied. You do not have the permission required to access the file C:\documents and settings\HP_Administrator\Local Settings\Application> Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst."

I am logged on as the administrator, have ownership of all files/folders in question, and I have all permissions checked - full control, read and write on all folders/files in question, and yet I'm still getting that error message when attempting to start Outlook 2007. I also can no longer sync my windows-mobile based PDA with Outlook 2007 either.

This just started happening after I turned off simple file sharing yesterday and then enabled sharing on several folders on my main system on my home network, including the one that has my outlook PST file. Since that change I'm getting the above error whenever I attempt to open outlook - obviously not good.

I also notice that the folders in question appear to be lighter in color - that transparent color of windows folders that.

Does this have anything to do with marking folders/files private?

If anyone has any guidance, would greatly appreciate any ideas on this one.

I have bought The Sims 2. Installation seemed fine, but every time I try to play, I get a blank error message window, which contains the red cross error icon, and an 'OK' button. And nothing else! I have seen that someone else here had the same problem, but she was using a crack copy so she was advised to buy the real thing...I must confess I had previously tried to run a crack copy. It didn't work, and anyway, I saw the error of my ways and felt so much happier when I got my proper version. Before I installed the legal version, I did some tidying (CCleaner, Eusing) and a restart. I ignored the bit about doing a defrag, although did analyse and was not told it was necessary.

After having searched through some forums, it seems the only people experiencing this error are the ones who are trying to make a crack work...and so I wonder if there is a remnant of the crack which I have missed which is causing this problem? If so, I guess that's Karma . I am also experiencing a problem with Body Shop which gives this message when I try to start it "Direct 3D returned an error: D3DERR_INVALIDCALL!" and says the application will now terminate...although it never does.

I have run dxdiag and updated relevant drivers, cleaned the CD, checked the different file shortcuts, rerun maintenance programs, uninstalled and reinstalled TS2...
Oh please help, I know I have been a naughty girl for trying to use cracked software and I feel so ashamed!

Hi, I am trying to update my display driver and an error message came up saying that... "The software you are installing for this hardware: Nvidia GeForce4 MX Integrated GPU has not passed windows Logo testing to verify its compatability with Windows XP.
Continuing your installation may impair or destabilize the correct operation of your system either immediately or in the future. Microsoft strongly reccomends that you stop this installation now and contact the hardware vendor for software that has passed Windows Logo Testing."
Ok, what should I do now? How do I contact the hardware vendor for software that has passed Windows Logo Testing? Help would be appreciated. Thanks

I ran Spybot on my PC to kill Virtual bouncer. I think that spybot did a good job atleast as of now. But as and when i log on, an error message comes up(The OS is windows 2000) saying that virtual bouncer.lnk is missing. Shortcut not found ... check if there is enough space on the hard drive and if the disk is properly installed ....something of that kind, though the exact words are different. If you guy have had such problems, plz advise !

most likely there is a shortcut to it under your start up. Type in MSCONFIG under the run command on the start menu and check to see if it is listed under the startup command if it is take the checkmark out of the box beside it.

Hi all,
everytime i boot my laptop I get this error message display.
I check my battery and it say 7% of chage and it display that is not charging. Everything is plugged correctely. This let me know that is a software problem.

Now if i use the DellSupportAssist App, to check the battery iit found that the Bios need an upgrade.

When i want to update the BIOS, it remains me that my battery is lower than 10% and cannot execute the software.

Here is my current battery and the charger:

The issue is with the AC adapter, not the battery. The AC adapter isn't detected in the BIOS, therefore the battery won't charge. The adapter is the original one that came with the computer when purchased? Or the adapter was purchase at a third party website? In the meantime, try some of the troubleshooting steps in the link below:

A:Cannot display desktop (error message:UPSInt.exe)

hi, so you get a blue screen and then after 10 minutes you get an error and pc restart or doesn;t work.
try this first
chkdsk /p.

can you get in windows itself if so click start then run and type
sfc /scannow.
have you checked your system for viruses spyware etc. reply back see what happens.
the reason i say this is because it might be a virus.
