Unable to Install Windows7 on a Brand New PC

Q: Unable to Install Windows7 on a Brand New PC

Hi,I just bought a new PC From HP : an ENVY 750-124 with the following config :Motherboard : Odense (Pegatron)Processor : Intel Core i7-6700RAM : 8GB (DDR3-1600)Video : NVIDIA GeFORCE GTX 970Network : Realtek RTL8161 - 1000 Base-T Ethernet The PC is delivred with Windows 10 installed on a 1 TB SATA III 7200 rpm I replaced the installed Disk by a New SSD SANDisk Ultra II 240 GB (SATA III) I Booted on the Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium X64 SP1 DVD, using the USB HP Keyboard and mouse delivred with the PC. The operating system is loading well and when appear the bitmap screen asking wich language , which keyboard to select, my mouse is not working (but the red light is working underneath) nor my keyboard and I am unable to continue the installation.I have tried with a USB logitech keyboard+mouse K330 : Same issue. I have tried also with the "System Recovery" 4*CDROM made by HP in 2012 (Windows 7 recovery media for Windows 7 product for HP 64bit PC, HP 685931-DW1 Build ID: 12WE1MRW603) : Same issue ! (The bitmap screen is not the same, it is asking wich language to select, but I can't press on the continue buttom on the screen). Does anyone has a clue how to have the mouse and the keyboard recognised by the Windows7 ? I have to say that the keyboard is working well at the boot stage (F1, F8 and F10 Bios menu). The drivers for windows7 for this PC are on the HP web support. A girl from the level1 team support told me that it means that the engineering team has tested this PC with Windows7, but it is not officially supported by HP since they provide Windows 10 with this machine. Many many thanks for your help, because I am not ready to use Windows10 for the moment!

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

For the past 18+ days I've been unable to download and install updates on Windows7 x64. I've tried all the trouble shooters and the update readiness tool, I've sought and received advice from windows answers to no avail, 14 days ago it did allow some updates but now its insists that IE9 on IE is not downloaded when I can see it is and all the time I keep getting Error Codes 80073712 and 9C48 , I've attempted and failed on at least 21 times now and every time it looks like it may make it but then it fails. Please if anyone has any info please let me know as the the response from Windows is pathetic.

Hi Nigel,

Have you installed Service Pack 1 for Windows 7? Also, could you please try the following, if you haven't already done so:

Fix the problem with Microsoft Windows Update that is not working

Also, could please post you full system specifications using this tool:

Hi
As i am installing a fresh copy of windows 7 , but it is taking a long time to boot. After selecting the drive for OS than the it moving very very slow in installation & expanding the file . Why this problem, is this problem the laptop are with OS

A:Unable to install Windows7 Home Basic 64-bit

You didn't say why you were installing a fresh copy, but if it because Windows has slowed down to a crawl on your PC, that's a strong indication of drive hardware failure -- and if that is the case, installing a fresh copy is not going to help at all.

I have done a new, clean install of Win XP Pro on a brand new hard drive. When I try to log in, I get the error message:
"The System Could not log you on because: The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted"
When I set up Windows I did not enter any user or password information. I did not have a network cable plugged in.
It is impossible to get beyond the login screen. There are no passwords to be reset.
I am not the only one that has encountered this. I have seen the same issue come up numerous times from others on the net. So far have not seen any help or fix for it.
At this point I am afraid that another clean install will come up with the same result.
Thanks for any help!

Hey everyone,

I've reinstalled windows a couple of days ago and after installing all my drivers and files and applications, I decided to run sfc /scannow just to be sure everything went right. It found some corrupted files, and was unable to fix them. Rather than try to diagnose the problem, I decided to just reinstall again. So I did, and right after I reinstalled windows I ran sfc /scannow again. Again it found corrupted files! I have no idea where they're coming from, since the install is completely fresh. It's even installed on a new SSD I bought a couple of days ago.

I tried running DISM, but that failed as well. Here's the output from Command Prompt:

You need the Install.wim which can be obtained by downloading the ISO from Tech Bench.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/techbench
Once you have the iso downloaded, right click at the ISO > click Mount > leave it there.
Then open the elevated command prompt and copy and paste this................

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:wim:H:\sources\install.wim:1 /limitaccess

Note : H is the drive where the iso is mounted. Change it if your driver letter is different.

When it is completed, you should get the report that the operation is successful.
Now run the sfc /scannow again. It should be ok this time.

Hello, I recently purchased a new computing system and I am unable to install Xp home edition. I have searched other places on the net but was unable to find an answer.
This is the new parts:
Asus P5GD1 Motherboard
Pentium 4 2.66
Maxtor 80 gig (master)
Kinsgton 512 X2

old Parts
Western digital 160 gig
benq DVD+-

I set the boot order to the benq reader, Insert the windows setup disc and it goes through the procedure up loading all the files, then enters the stop error screen where it displays error 0000007b, Describing such things as check for viruses (I am using brand new master Hard drive), check configuration, remove and new controllers etc.

I tried removing the old 160 gig thinking that it has a chance of a virus, and checked connections on the mother board and elsewhere. Anybody have any tips for completing this installation? This is getting to be very annoying.

A:Unable to install xp home on brand new system

Hi,

Might look a couple of places to start:

First of all, I would download the maxtor utility from their website and prepare your disk from this utility previous to setting up the OS. This utility is free (or if a retail version, came with your new drive) and can partition and format your drive and have it ready to go.

Second, your boot order needs to be:

CD/Dvd - 1st
floppy - 2nd
Maxtor Hard Drive

Don't forget to save before you exit.

Third, make sure you have turned off the raid feature in the BIOS setup menu for your IDE drives to keep it from searching for a raid drive. Don't forget to save before you exit if you change the BIOS setup menu.

Put the Maxtor drive on IDE #1 on the end of the ribbon cable with the jumpers set to master, the CD/DVD in the middle of the ribbon cable with jumpers set to slave.

If everything else is set correctly, you should be able to put the OS disk in the drive, boot up and let it load the OS.

Let us know where you are on this process.

mobo is a gigabyte 7VT600P-RZ

it posts fine.. I just really have no clue on how to install windows XP, I set first drive to boot in the bios as the CDROM and put in the windows XP disk, it goes to a blue screen with white text on the bottom saying it's loading stuff.. Then it says "Loading Windows XP" for about 10 seconds, then I get a 2 tone alarm (2 beeps each, like "beep boop beep boop" and the computer shuts down. I don't think it's a heat issue as I can let the computer run all day in dos and it won't shut down, but once it gets to Loading windows Xp it goes downhill...

Here's my short story...

I wanted to reinstall Windows 7 to my two years old PC and improve performance a little bit by changing one of my two disks by a SSD.

My pc is a laptop with two hard discs. So I started with creating the recovery disk (6 needed) from my originial HD. After, I removed the two HD and install the brand new SSD.

I would not impose the inferior bloated factory preinstall on a new SSD.

Instead get a superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 with the Product Key on COA sticker.

Everything needed is in the blue link.

Reset BIOS to defaults. Set SATA controller to AHCI to try install.

Hello, I have recently bought my daughter her first laptop as a gift and have been racking my brains as to why Windows 7 won't install. We get an error message of which I attach a screenshot (well a photo of the screen).
I am well versed with PC's, after all I am able to get the USB Flash drive recognized and started. It isn't until just after "Starting Windows" does the screen go blue with said verbage.

Now to put things into context my daughter wanted a computer like mine, which is Asus X75VC, of which I have no issues running Windows 7.
Her new Asus X540s struggles with Win10, regardless, we don't want Win 10, but will keep it as the main C partition for now. Am also waiting on Linux Mint 18, but today I need Windows 7 so please help!

Have spent the past few days scouring these forums, but have yet to find a solution to this "modern" problem. Computers these days seem to be going backwards, with less customizeability freely available at our disposal.

I have an HP Compaq dx2000mt desktop that has windows7 32bit enterprise installed on it. I tried to install windows7 home 32bit to replace the enterprise OS. As I was installing it stated the old OS would be marked, XXX.old and it went forward, then came to a point where there were booting errors. and it stopped installing. Now I am left with a half install, and a full OS the boot section now in its own drive named disk 0 system reserved.
I partioned the C drive and allocated 20gb and tried to install there. I received the same errors seems that my boot.ini is stuck in the system reserved and I cant figure out how to incorporate disk 0 over to disk C, so that my boot is in the same disk drive.
I have really messed this one up. I have installed an operating system before and never had so much trouble.
Any advice would be helpful.
And please if you have an answer, something for me to do, it needs to be A.B.C.'d out step by step as Im not an expert. But I guess I already proved that...
Thank you in advance.

Hi,

I recently have posted aboutan issue with recovering from a partition whichwent fine.

So I went through to do a clean re-install of windows 7 with a boot USB to get rid of factory bloatware and when I do. it gets to the option to write to a partition it sayscan't write to a GPT partition. Which is not really a big issue as plenty of tuts to.change to MBR which I have read.

But also if it dont make it to the option to write to a partition I get an error where windows says cannot find the device drivers installation. I have spent a day trying to find a way to get drivers on there. And I dont want to convert to MBR and still get the same driver error.

I have wrote the bo0t USB using different programs and still get either of those errors.

Hi guys apologies if this is in the wrong forum.

This morning I turned on my Lenovo G580 laptop running windows 7 and it was running fine, I've had no previous problems at all. It suddenly froze for seemingly no reason and half an hour later was still frozen so I turned it off and on again. It was unable to boot windows 7 and the repair system option that appears ever time I try to boot it now takes me to a screen with a blue background that looks like it should be a login screen but there is no login option available.

I have attempted the one key recovery system installed on my laptop but that too seems to freeze up before I can do anything. I do not have a windows 7 disk available as it came pre installed However I made a system repair disk using a windows 10 desktop but this also seems to be of no use as it will also freeze or simply not boot whenever I try to do something.

I was able to boot into a Ubuntu disk which let me see into my windows files without needing to repair any drive, however there were files there I'd deleted long ago aswell as files that should've been there even back then that were missing.

Willing to provide any mor information that might help if anyone has any ideas? Or could move this to the appropriate forum.

Thanks for any and all help.

Originally I set it to install and walked away came back hours later so I wasn't at the pc watching things. Anyways I managed to damage some files or something and for whatever reasons i could not figure out how to repair them. The microsoft forum was a bust no even one person tried to help me so I got sick of waiting and deleted the partition on the drive and made a new one and formatted it within the installer loaded from boot of the vista CD. That part went fine and quick. However when arriving at the step where its expanding files it took almost an hour before it spun up the CD and began increasing beyond 0%. From there up to 5% at best increases (avg 3%) then the CD spins down and idles for at least several minutes and then spins up gets a little farther and repeat. Basically the amount of time its just sitting there is probably 20 times or more longer than the time its actually progressing. Why is this? Is it supposed to do that? It seems odd to me that it wouldn't just keep spinning the CD and continuously progressing. Especially on a system with a dual core 3.2 ghz and 2GB of ram installs should zip through no time at all. I'm sure the install will be done before anyone replies but i thought I would check here in case its something I should be concerned about as a possible problem with my system.

No, not during installation. The Windows 7 DVD normally has all drivers on it. When you have completed the install, it will search the internet for drivers and DL if needed. You should be OK.

But it runs great in windows 7 no problems whatsoever.

Don't have specific solution but the conventional wisdom is to always install the oldest version of Windows first then the newer version should be settable for the boot choices.

Also installed Avast, since no virus protection was present. Upon restarting, after the Windows7 welcome screen, only a black screen..no Windows. After waiting several minutes, restarted system with same result. Restarted in safe-mode with networking, launch Avast, I get a message saying, "The Avast program has stopped running or is an inconsistent state" There's a "Fix It" button but the program doesn't seem to be able to "fix" itself when I use the "Fix It" button. I go into Services, and try to restart the Avast service, however I get error msg that service cannot start. I start a full system scan. While scan is running, launch Google Chrome to search for solutions, keep getting redirected to strange websites selling items that have no relation to what I'm searching for. Hi Guys,

I am unable to connect to my network devices since I upgrade to Windows7 Pro with a new laptop. I am using a peer to peer connection, meaning just my laptop and the device with a static IP address set on my laptop (192.168.2.40) and a static ip address set on the device (192.168.2.47). I am using a CAT5 network cable to connect to the device (I have tried both straight and cross cable - both failed).

My local area network adaptor will show unidentified network, under properties -> status, it states No Network Access. There is no issue to connect to the internet. Just that my job requires me to often do a peer to peer connection with the device.

I didnt have this problem with windows xp.

Anyone can help? Thanks.

A:Unable to connect to network devices with Windows7

Hi Guys,

Please ignore the thread. I have tested that even though the network adaptor shows no network access, I am still able to web into the device. Initially I presumed that it couldn't as the network daptor icon shows an exclaimation mark.
That exclaimation mark was actually referring to internet connection issue.

Thanks.

I am unable to find a suitable driver for my computer. I have a Compaq Presario R3000AP 3.2 GHz 2.5GB Ram and have upgraded to windows 7 with SP1.
I did a clean install and all the windows 7 drivers were installed and are compatible except for the Realtek AC'97 audio driver.

I downloaded and installed the Realtek AC'97 Codecs from the Realtek website, but unfortunately this was unsuccessful . Then I downloaded and installed the SP29586 Realtek AC'97 Driver version 6.0.1.6305 from the HP website and this was also unsuccessful. Finally I downloaded from the Microsoft website the same Audio Driver version 6.0.1.6305 and installed it but unfortunately again this was unsuccessful.

In the Device manager under Sound, video and game controllers it show below "Realtek AC'97 Audio device", version 6.0.1.6305 but in properties is shows "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

Windows 7 does recognize the sound device, but is unable to completely install it, even though under the "driver file details tab" it show drivers installed in the windows directory.

I understand that Microsoft does not support the Realtek driver, but there must be some kind of fix or even someone out there that is able to rewrite the driver somehow.

Seems a shame to have to get a new computer because of this, as it is very fast with windows 7 even though it is only a Pentium 4.

I have no more options and I am asking for help. PLEASE!
Danny

I've been going crazy the past week about this error. I've searched every post out there for a solution to this problem but every step I take to solve it seems to fail at one point also most of the other posts seem to have slightly different problems.

It all started about a week ago when I was trying to run Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 when it gave me that error. I tried uninstalling but it would give me an error as well. I noticed that the main error I'm complaining about only appears with most of the programs/games I use but not all of them.

For example the following programs/games don't work anymore and show me that error( Windows media player classic/VLC/Assassins Creed/Max Payne/ PES 2012/2013 and so much more)

Although some other programs/games did work such as (Google chrome/Windows media player/ccleaner).

I also noticed that when I try to download anything from google chrome it would be blocked and fail.

What I tried to do:
============

1- I ran a full system scan via Microsoft security essentials and I was free of any viruses/malware/trojans.

2- Downloaded ccleaner and fixed all registry errors.

3- I ran windows diagnostics to check for faulty Ram or HD and both were good.

4- Tried installing malwarebytes which was successful but every time I would run the program it wouldn't open giving me a (malwarebytes error 339 ieframe.dll)

5- Combofix also wasn't able to run by the (0xc0000005) error.

6- I also tried to boot up in safe mood ... Read more

It sounds like you are getting Access Denied. Usually indicates a UAC error or that the program needs to be run As Administrator. You don't indicate the state of your UAC. Also please see below:

Hi,
I have this weird problem. I have until now installed a countless number of windows on any given computer but this is the first time I stumble upon this kind of problem. This is an HP laptop infected with a lot of viruses and i can barely turn windows on. That's why I decided I do a format and clean install, but every time I try to boot it from cd it gives me the white blinking line and after a few seconds it continues loading the old version of windows(it's like its not even reading the disc even though I can hear the disc spining) and when i try to boot it from the usb it just keeps displaying the white blinking line. I should mention that I tried both the usb and cd on another computer and they work fine. Thank you

A:Can't install windows7

Is the computer set to boot from the disk first in the bios? I am sure that even if you reinstall Win 7 the first copy of Windows will be put into a folder called Windows.old which will mean the viruses will still be there. I would wipe the disk clean before installing Windows again.

Welcome Fastdrive to the windows 7 forums.

It would help to know what kind of laptop you have. You evidently have an oem version of windows 7. Most laptop vendors will send you a set of re-install disks for a small fee. Other people's windows 7 disks most likely will not allow you to install using your laptops product key.

Can I use that to install Windows 7 on the new computer?

No. If your 5559 didn't come with Windows, you can't install it without purchasing a license.

I recently installed Ubuntu 9 onto a USB HDD and I took out my Windows HDD and put in my old backup HDD and did the install that way now I can either have the linux HDD either plugged into the USB or inside the laptop itself.

I tried to put my Windows HDD into the USB caddy and boot from there and it did not work it got to the splash screen where the four parts of the window comes together then a blue screen of death flashes for a fraction of a second then it restarts the system and it never gets past that point. Is there a way I can get it to work via the USB route? It has nothing to do with the hardware compatibility of USB caddy because my Windows HDD is the original HDD that came with the caddy. I swapped my original drive with that one because it was larger. So is there anyway I can accomplish this without having to reinstall Win7 onto the drive as reinstalling all my software too is a pain in the behind so if that can be avoided then that is what I would like to do.

Thanks

A:How can I install windows7 onto a USB HDD?

You can't install Win7 on an external USB device. What blocks it is the USB controller. The same external or flash drive would work if it is plugged via IDE/SATA cable.

MS tries hard to keep this from being possible as otherwise you could carry WIn7 around in your pocket to any machine.

A few claim they have done it but admit it runs horribly slow.

I am trying to do a clean install Windows7 in place of an existing XP Pro operating system. I have followed Windows Easy - Transfer to & from Computers procedure. All backed up to external drive K - I have tried this once but for some reason instead of installing on the C drive it went to another drive D. I did not see during the installation and options saying the drive to install to. I expect I will need to format D to get rid of it. Having done that is it best to disconnect D so this does not happen again? Should I also switch off the external drive K till the installation is complete?

Help will be greatly appreciated.

Like Firefox, VLC, and many other softwares at download.com.

Actually softwares are getting installed.

Is the windows xp and windows7 same inside.
I am having windows7 ultimate on my laptop.

asking this Just for information.

Thanks and regards

A:Can I install XP softwares on windows7

It depends on the software. Most software that installs on XP will install on W7 also, though there are a few incompatible programs. Some programs will require running in compatibility mode. With Ultimate, it is also possible to use XP Mode, if you hardware supports it...although I don't know how useful that would be on a laptop.

Am wanting to do fresh install of W7. After placing DVD disc into DVD player and then restarting and pressing Delete key to enter BIOS I get two different choices to boot from DVD. One says DVD and the other says DVD UEFI.

Which one do I pick?
Would both choices ensure I have a bootable OS?
If I install using DVD UEFI choice will that install allow me to clone my OS which I would do with Acronis True Image 2014?
Does my current installation have some way of knowing how my current OS install was done..either DVD or DVD UEFI

My motherboard is an Asus Z87C and the BIOS screen has the words Asus UEFI in top left corner.

I have never done an install of OS so please help as I do not want to do the wrong type of install. Thanks Gary

A:Install Windows7 from DVD or DVD UEFI?

Neither method would be considered wrong. Just choose boot from DVD, let us know what heppens.

Could you please post a shot of Disk Managenent now, before you start.

Disk Management - Post a Screen Capture Image

You do not have to go into the bios to make a choice, just use the 1 time Boot Menu key, ususally F8 then choose boot from dvd drive.

You should really research the subject before even attempting this.
