Hey all!I bought a Lenovo Ideapad Y700 15ISK Laptop (touch version) exactly a month ago through a seller, since I live in Pakistan & as far I know Lenovo doesn't officially function here. Other details: Windows 10; core i7; 16gb; 512gb memory. About a week ago i clicked on the wrong link and got a terrible virus because of which i had to reformat my hard drive by reloading my Windows 10 (through that full/all disk reset option). What that resulted in was a simple windows 10 (without the preloaded software which I kinda want back), and a heck of a lot of problems. Firstly, is there any way to get back that preloaded software? I've tried searching everywhere but can't really find it; found the nvidia and reltek stuff but that's it. Secondly, the black screen of death; this was something that happened to me the very first time i opened the laptop, and the second time after i reloaded it. It hasn't happened since, but was wondering if there's a way to fix without physically doing anything to the laptop. Thirdly, ever since I've reloaded windows, the on-screen indicators for caps lock and num lock do not show up, and I really want those because i'm still adjusting to this keyboard. I've tried looking for it here on the forum, but all the instructions are for windows 7 or maybe 8, nothing for windows 10 (the instructions for windows 7 can't apply to windows 10 because the options aren't the same). ALSO, the on screen indicator for when i turn off the trackpad also isn't showing up. Fourthly (yes this is a long list i'm so sorry for making you read all this), ever since I've reloaded, the speakers occasionally/regularly make a loud pop or tsk sound whenever i click something or i'm about to start an audio/video. I have tried installing the latest audio drivers by going to the support site, but for some reason it doesn't work. And i have tried installing multiple times, it still won't go away. Everytime i scan, it tells me to upgrade to version 10, despite my having done so multiple times -_- Fifthly (ha!) the notifications banners that show up on the side aren't showing up properly. Nothign shows up, with a exception of a really thin, black, cursor like line at the right border of where the photo/app icon is supposed to be within the banner area. If i have to click something in the area of the notification banner, i can't do so until it goes away. Sixthly, fn+f5, which is supposed to be airplane mode, only worked the very first time i opened this laptop, and has not worked since, not even after the reload. And lastly, spellcheck doesn't work in my firefox, despite my turning on spellcheck in both firefox settings and windows settings; it has been this way since the start, and has not changed even after reloading. I'm sorry for the extremely long post (and any mispellings). Ever since this stuff started happening to me, i realised by exploring the forum here that Lenovo has a lot of issues with the firmware and drivers, especially in this model. That makes me incredibly sad because this laptop was a big investment for me as a design student in university, and i was pretty happy with it until this happened; now i'm stuck because i can't return it or anything. So if the community has any solutions or ideas or anything, please do let me know. The shop i bought it from wrote one year international warranty on the receipt, but when i checked my laptop on the support site it says that the warranty is out of date :/ And i've tried searching the forum, some of the problems i have aren't mentioned anywhere (not even on youtube). As far as i know, my windows 10 is supposed to be genuine (has the sticker at the bottom), though when i bought the laptop i saw one of the stickers on the bottom (the serial numer one) was fading and coming off. The seller said it happens due to customs checking, and i went with it since i'd already paid and didn't have a choice. Anyhoo... again i'm sorry for making this even longer. Thank you for reading! And for any solutions!
I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system
It's worked out well for many of us in the past.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hey guys. I have the y700 touch screen version, and recently I've noticed that the laptop lags when opening files or when I'm using chrome or word. I have 16 gbs of ram, and there seems to be no issue with task manager. Sometimes the disk reads at 100% activity, but most of the time it's a Lenovo or Microsoft service that is causing it. Other times there is no abnormal activity within task manager and it still lags. Even when I select various icons in the desktop there is a noticeable lag. Also, the laptop gets hot quickly when I'm not even playing games or running heavy programs. I've been told by different Lenovo representatives that it could be a software issue and that I should try a factory reset, but I've also been told that it can be an issue with the cooling system, as it gets hot very quickly. This is a very recent issue, and it is quite annoying as I basically burn my hands while doing my work. I've scanned for viruses and malware, and there is no problem what's so ever. Can anyone help me out? It would be greatly appreciated.Read other answers

Even in the course of work, happens, he rebooting. What I did:- Use Lenovo Recovery System with fabric Windows 10- Update all Programm Software and Drivers and Windows 10 from Lenovo- Install Clear Windows 10 with unlenovo drivers- Use drivers for M385X and just M385- Update to latest BIOS Logs don't know about this reboots. Just they said about Systeam Failure. The problem remains. Only the frequency of events differs. And after reset the laptop goes to cyclic loading. What do you think about this?
I think, problem in USB or Graphic Adapters. :/Read other 1 answers

I decided to invest in a new laptop as my other one had fallen on the ground, and lately for the past two month's all I've been having with it was troubles. Ther first problem I had was with the external microphone I used (Blue Yeti) It wouldn't detect or something and eventually made my speakers and microphone stop working all together. With no clue on how to fix it I ended up factory resetting my product. Everything's been fine with this problem, but if you have a fix to it if it arrises again then that'd be helpful.
Just yesterday I had a problem with my laptop where I was using it and the screen suddenly went black, I restarted it and the LENOVO loading screen came up only to have it stuck on the screen with a loading symbol and my curser. I contacted a live agent who told me to factory reset my laptop which brings me onto what happens when I do that below;
I have also had a problem where It would update from windows 8.1 to windows 10 & "Windows Explorer" would continue to crash and refresh every second thus making the laptop un-useable in this state unless I open a program through "Task Manager". Due to this problem I had to factory reset my laptop about five times as I cannot resolve it and it continues to arrise if I set a background to my laptop - I have tried everything, from updating drivers to much more and have yet to find a fix t... I recently bought a Lenovo Ideapad Y700 and I was wondering 3 things. The first is many sockets do the RAM and the SSD have? Also, am I able to have a SSD and a Hardrive together? The second thing is what is the max RAM and storage the laptop can have? Lastly, will upgrading the RAM and SSD void my warranty? Thank you to anyone who can help.

Lastly, will upgrading the RAM and SSD void my warranty? The "Hardware Maintenance Manual" (HMM) contains the specifications of your laptop (plus other information). You can download it from the Lenovo web site. Scroll to the bottom of this page and click "Manuals" in the "Support" column. I have an Ideapad 700-15ISK (not a Y700-15ISK), but I think that the answers to your questions are: (1) Two RAM sockets. My 700 also has two RAM sockets, and the maximum RAM supported is 32 GB, but the Y700 might have a maximum of only 16 GB. Look in the HMM to find out. (2) One M.2 SSD socket. Note: not all brands and models of SSD are supported; you have to purchase an SSD that is on the list of supported SSDs (if you buy something else, there is no guarantee that it will work in the Y700). Look in the HMM to see what SSD models are supported. (3) You can use an M.2 SSD with the HDD. Alternatively, you could remove the HDD and replace it with a 2.5 inch SATA SSD. (4) I think (not sure) that the RAM, SSD, and HDD are regarded as "user replaceable parts", so you can change them without voiding your warranty. But it needs someone from Lenovo to confirm... Hi, I am going to buy a used Lenovo IdeaPad Y700 15.6". The modelnr is 80NV00JWMX It has the following spesifications: Intel Core i5-6300HQ, Nvidia GTX 960M 2GB, 8 GB DDR4 RAM, 1 TB HDD (maybe a 8 GB flash drive). I have never owned a Lenovo, just several other brands. Will it be possible to upgrade this model with a SSD, and still have the 1 TB HDD? I am thinking of a M.2 Solid State Drive. I am going to pick up the Lenovo later today. I just wanted to clarify this before I am picking it up.Read other answers

When I flipped the laptop I was surprised by the huge amounts of pet hair piling up on the fan. It never crossed my mind that this would happen. I want to know if the fan is supported by a dust filter mesh? And is it possible that the hair got through to the components inside? Should I haved checked and cleaned from the inside? Hello everybody! I am interested in buying the new Gaming Laptop Lenovo ideapad Y700-15ACZ in the TOP version with FX-8800P and 4GB R9-M385X. As I have seen, first offers come only having the 1TB WD slim hdd. So time to find out which will be the best M.2 SSD to add nearby. For this need to clarify first if the M.2 port is connected to the SATA III of the FX-8800P's internal southbridge only or if it has connection to PCIe lanes. The HMM https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/ideapad_y700-15acz_hmm_201508.pdf tells on page 26 there is PCI Express Gen3 and SATA Gen3. For the hdd is written SATA III as note and for the ssd it is NGFF which means the same like you write M.2, so it is unclear. Btw - there are NO DDR4 ports on that model yet. On page 64 you find some oem M.2 ssd models that Lenovo offers to add. Those are SATA3 models like LiteOn CV-1 and Samsung PM871 with keys for "B+M". But this also doesn't mean anything more than might be badder choices. Have a look at the mainboard on page 48. You can see that the M.2 connector has only key M (right side) which means PCIe 3.0 (cpu) + SATA whereas key B (left side) would mean PCIe 2.0 (southbridge) + SATA. That M key port would allow to put in ssd cards like the Samsung SM951MZ-HPV (AHCI) model which might be the fastest using AHCI+PCIe or even the newest model Samsung SSD 950 pro which uses PCIe 3.0+NVMe only. But if there exists only a SATA III connection, the key should be "B only" instea... Read more

I'm having some lag with my touchpad, about every 3 seconds. Searched around about this problem and did some updates on the driver.
Even did a factory reset, but same problem.
Anyone having similar problem and fixed it?
Read somewhere that it may have something to do with the Realtek HD audio software/driver??
Using external mouse for the most, but would be nice to have the option to use a functional touchpad from time to time.

Have you seen this thread?http://www.tenforums.com/drivers-hardware/14107-windows-10-mouse-lagging.htmlThis guy claims that disabling start at boot of Realtek application called FMAPP.exe solved the problem. I recently bought a M.2 SSD and I want to use it as a cache drive. Intels RST requires AHCI mode, I was under the assumption that I was already in AHCI mode but my inability to create any raid volumes through the disk management or have my drives recognized by the RST app says otherwise. There is no option to change my mode from IDE to AHCI in BIOS due to it being locked. How can I work around this?
Look in the device manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller, it should say Intel(R) 100 Series/C230 Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller. For your second part of your question, you need at least 2 disk with unallocated areas to make a RAID array. You would need to Order the reinstall DVD for the default OS from Lenovo. If you're planning on Win 10 then ask for that set of media. Only this way will it read the MS code in the bios for activation. Any other ISO download would require you still buy an upgrade OS for the key. If you search around in the Windows support area and/or post their someone may point you where to call. You could try the support Chat to a rep but you'll have to buy the upgrade media which is not expective at all and the simplist way to get all the drivers etc for a working image.

Hello all, I purchased a Lenovo Ideapad Y700-17ISK part # 80Q00011US, and according to case manager assigned to my case, 100 days ago. The notebook was mis-represented by a sales rep, and when I got the machine and it didn't have the second hard drive bay in rear of machine, which I was told the 80Q00011US had. The machine also had a mild display issue, but rather than report it and spend 2+ weeks without a machine, I ignore the issue. It didn't affect daily usage anyways. So 10 days ago, the machine dies during a reboot. Seems the MB fried. I have been fighting and waiting (mostly waiting) for over a week for a case manager (Crystal) to contact me, which finally happen @ 7:30 AM PST yesterday. The case manager was not customer friendly, refused the replacement or refund options I requested, stated they would ONLY repair the system. Her cause for "rejecting" those options was because I didn't report the display issue in the first 30 days (I have enough exp. (35 Yrs.) in computers to know a bad spot in display is NOT going to fried a MB). Conservation got heated. I refuse the repair option because I know what they will do is replace MB & Display, and return other parts back to the machine (parts that very well could have been damaged when MB died, leaving me with a US$1,300 refurbished machine). I then requested to speak with her supervisor since I was tired of being BS-ed, only for her to claim there was no-one higher to speak to, and her actually hang... Read moreRead other answers
