windows 7 ie8 crashes when loading site

Q: windows 7 ie8 crashes when loading site

have an issue only on 1 site where ie freezes/crashes when going to the site, tried compatability view, disabled add ons, geek squad tried fixing for 3 hrs unsuccessfully, its a work website i have to be able to view it, any suggestions? the website has an activex add-on

Preferred Solution: windows 7 ie8 crashes when loading site

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Welcome to TSF....

Repair Installation:

Perform a Repair Installation
This needs to be addressed
Since IE7 is now and has been out, we need this information posted when we suggest a Repair Install. You can use either one:

You cannot perform a repair installation of Windows XP if Internet Explorer 7 is installed. If you do, Internet Explorer will not work because the repair installation does not restore the earlier version files in the %ProgramFiles%\Internet Explorer folder resulting in an incompatibility with the Internet Explorer 6 files that the repair placed in the %SystemRoot%\System32 folder.
To uninstall Internet Explorer 7:
1. Start / Run / appwiz.cpl / OK.
2. Select Internet Explorer 7 and press Remove. If you can't find Internet Explorer 7:
A. Install the Recovery Console.
B. Restart you computer and start the Recovery Console.
C. Type CD ie7\spuninst and press Enter.
D. Type batch spuninst.txt and press Enter.

Before you perform a repair installation of Windows XP, you must uninstall Internet Explorer 7. If you do not uninstall Internet Explorer 7 in this situation, Internet Explorer will no longer work after the repair installation is completed. Specifically, the repair installation does not restore earlier versions of the files in the Program File... Read more

Windows Xp crashs during windows loading screen and reboots. Displays a blue screen with no errors on it only the stop information, 0x00000024 (0x001902FE, 0xBA52F380, 0xBA52f07c,0x8AD5980F). This blue screen stays up for less than a second, needed to video record it to get the numbers. Windows doesn't load in normal mode, or any of the safe modes. I have tried chkdsk /r and /p. Bootcfg /scan fails, and /rebuild also fails. I have also cleared Cmos on my motherboard, which didn't work either. I also tested the ram, tried booting with 1 of 3 sticks in 3 times rotating the sticks, I wouldn't think all 3 would fail at the same time. The HD does show serial numbers tho and appears to be working. This all started when i was running a virus scanner, it crashed, and the problems started. Any help is appreciated, I have yet to try fixmbr, and a repair install. The fixmbr says it could cause a problem with the HD, that is the reason I haven't tried it yet. Any suggestions or help is appreciated. Thanks

I had recently done some modification to my wife's computer and now it will no longer load up. It goes through the hardware screen for the motherboard, begins to show the Windows 7 icon, but suddenly stops and restarts itself as the icon begins to come together.

Today, I swapped out her motherboard, processor, and graphics card with new ones. All of the cables are hooked up correctly, but I'm unsure what the problem could be. Below are the parts I have put in it now:
Sapphire Radeon R7 250 (graphics card)
ASUS M5A78-M LX Plus (motherboard)
AMD FX 6-Core 3.5 GHZ 14.0 MB (processor)
If there's more that's needed to be posted, I will look it up, but that's what was put into it today.

So my Hard Drive crashed today, and I thought of using the HDD from my laptop which I hardly ever use. When I connected it, my computer started up as normal, but once the loading screen appears it shuts down and restarts.

I have run the Repair tool several times, but it doesn't fix my problem.. Any ideas why Windows refuses to start? Is it a hardware problem? I believe, last time I checked it worked fine in my laptop.

The HDD that I'm using from my laptop is a WD Scorpio Blue WD3200BE

Any input is appreciated!

So I accidently kicked my PC, and since it is missing a leg, hit the side of my desk. Well now it will POST but whenever loading Windows it will just crash right away. The HDD is fine and works on my brothers computer. Also western digital software says it is good. My CPU and HDD and RAM are being detected so what's going on?

A:PC POSTs but crashes when loading Windows

Any number of things;
1 You knocked loose the hsf or cooler
2 A pw connection is loose ie atx or aux plugs
3 Ram was knocked loose, etc, etc

The only way you are going to find out is to test in a systematic manner;
1 System OFF, open the case and reseat ALL pw connectors ie atx, aux, hard disk, etc
2 Reseat ram. Be sure the ram is fully seated in the slot
3 Reseat your video card [if you are using a real video card]
4 If the system still will not boot into windows, boot the system with a linux live usb. If the system runs ok under linux, then your hardware is probably ok. Look at clean installing windows

Just wondering, did you do ALL tests on the WD drive ie long and short tests?

Looks like your hard disk is not detected. Please enter in to BIOS setup and verify if the HDD is detected or not. You can enter in to the BIOS setup by pressing F2 during powering on.
Here is an example BIOS screen . If the HDD is none, it is not detected.

I have been having problems with my family computer where Windows gets to the laoding screen and crashes, which it does in a loop and then occasioanlly turns on. I had this problem a while back but a change of hard drive and a clean install of Windows 7 (it was previously XP) seemed to of cured it. But last night the problem returned, there was a BSOD out of no where and then it returned into its looping process.

I switched out the current hard drive, RAM and CPU with my other gaming computer and it also caused that to crash. So I first took out the hard drive and it still crashed but swithing the RAM again seemed to of cured the problem. However, when I put different RAM in the computer with the initial problems it still came up with the same problem.

Hi guys, I need help, I am running windows 7 64, I think I got a virus, so in safe mode I have run avg, then super antispywar, then I ran sfc / scan now and it is telling me that it couldn't change some of the files, so I have looked at the report and it tells me the following, imjpuexc.exe, imjputyc.dll, micross.ttf, times.ttf, timesbi.ttf, sylvan.ttf, amd64\if1371e3.ppd, aren't able to be repaired.
I haven't got the original win7 disk because it was factory installed. What is interesting, is that it crashes in safe mode with networking as well. Have tried to use the restore point nil luck,

I can get into the homepage and it seems one minute later it freezes and I need to do a hard reboot every time.
Not sure what to do?....

Hi all,

I have a problem with my new computer. I am also new to windows 7 and am still getting used to everything. On the first start up of the day windows crashes to a BSOD just after the loading screen. I start windows repair on the restart and let it do its thing, then windows starts up fine. I doubt that windows repair did anything as no messages came up on startup or during the repair.

I don't have any information of the BSOD, my motherboard restarts after the crash and I don' get a chance to read the problem, I will post the problem when I have worked out how to stop it automatically restarting.

The computer runs fine after it is "warmed up" so to speak, and I am guessing thats why it starts after Start up Recovery has done its thing which appears to be nothing

I have attached 2 minidump files from previous crashes, windows didn't make one of the most recent.

Anywho, any help would be greatly appreciated, it's not really a problem but more of a nuisance.

A:Windows Crashes to BSOD after loading screen

ok, heres an update.

I stopped windows restarting after a crash and I could write down some info about the BSOD that came up most recently. It had the stop codes 0x0000008e (0XC0000005, 0x82CD9A8A, 0x8C7936A4, 0x00000000) with an error with NTFS.SYS PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA.

Windows didn't just start up this time, I had to run startup recovery, and this time it said that it couldn't fix the problem and sent up an error in the system file integrity check part of the test with a code of 0x490.

I told windows to make a full dump file, so I cant send it my bad. I have changed but any help would be greatly appreciated.

3/10/2012, I was going to play the chapter The Fall on Portal 2, but after it loaded Windows became unstable, the clock, status and date showed up and then windows crashed. Please help me.

A:Windows 8 becomes unstable and crashes after loading a map in Portal 2

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible. If you are overclocking STOP You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking. To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder. The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine. * Zip up the copy. * Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button. *If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter. * Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button. * Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked. * Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies). * Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump. * OK your way out. * Reboot if changes have been made.

Ok, I have basically no computer knowledge, but I will describe my problem to the best of my ability. The other day my cousin came over for a barbeque, he is supposably the family computer genius so I let him on my computer. He started editing the registry, saying he was removing so called "viruses". I have no knowledge of what he added/removed to/from the registry during this time but when I next went on the computer after he had left (all he did after editing the registry was exit the registry editer) I was unable to click on any of my desktop short cuts or the buttons on the menu bar such as start. I then rebooted by holding the power button thinking everything would be fine but the computer froze after the windows xp loading screen, showing the screen where you login to your account, except with only a windows xp logo in the middle of the screen, no login tabs. I tried rebooting numerous times but the problem persisted. I have no idea where to go from here. If any extremely smart and computerly talented people have any ideas about solving my problem, please explain in full detail, as I have only basic computer knowledge. I may not be able to answer any questions you have for several days as I can only do this at a friend?s house now. Thanks for reading this and I apologise for any bad spelling/grammar. I am only fourteen years old.

After I decided to install Windows 7 on my computer, it worked fine until the system restarted twice (it was recommended by Windows 7 setup installation), then when it was at "Completing Installation" the system got a blue screen, I was pissed a little, but when it said: SETUP IS STARTING SERVICES and after 5 seconds the setup of Windows 7 told me to restart the system to resume installation. After I clicked "OK" the system restarted and it was the same story: SETUP IS STARTING SERVICES and the error popped, AGAIN. What should I do?

Thanks in advance,

-EDIT- Here is the error, I forgot to put it:

"The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation"

A:Windows 7 crashes after loading Setup is starting services

When it fails, try removing the installer and restart.

Try entering Device Manager during install to uninstall any devices in error - normally Display driver - to see if installation will complete, then update device driver from desktop via optional Updates. Device Manager - Access During Windows 7 Installation

If that doesn't work reset the BIOS to defaults, set SATA controller to AHCI: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

Then wipe the HD with Diskpart Clean Command from DVD Command Line DISKPART At PC Startup

Greetings BleepingComputer,
I am having issue with my machine playing games. Here are the circumstances of the crashes:
Whenever I open up any game (it didnt used to be this way) once I get to the main menu and/or the exact moment I reach 100% of loading a level, the machine crashes and instantly reboots (no BSOD just a brief shut down into a restart). You should also know that this is a fresh HDD, right off the shelf with a fresh install of EVERYTHING.
Some of the procedures I have done: I have uninstalled and reinstalled my graphics drivers. Installed older versions of graphics drivers. Uninstalled and reinstalled games. Reseated my video card and RAM. Run any and all programs as administrator. Run any and all programs in compatibility mode for windows 7.
Some procedures I have failed to accomplish: I have tried using the program "WhoCrashed" to get the dump files of crashes but I/it is unable to obtain them. I am unsure what I am doing wrong and hopfully you can point me in the right direction, should you need those files... which I imagine you will.
Hopfully what I have described to you is an adequate starting point, although I am certain I am missing details. Below you will find reports from the various programs that this site has recommended I provide to help diagnose the problem. You will also find attached reports that come from the BSOD Pinned Thread. Portege A200 Windows XP;

Before windows is fully loaded a blue screen appears and the machine shuts down. Prior to this the machine was intermittenlty switching off for no apparent reason. The last thing I did before this happened was to update to IE 7. Ran scandisk but did not fix anything.

Can start in safemode but cannot uninstall IE7 in safemode. Selected option to load windows from last config that worked option, but windows crashes before finishing loading. Used system restore to take it back to January 08 but still same problem.

Any advice would be appreciated.

In such cases I really recommend you to make clean OS installation. As you can see nothing helps. I really do not know what you can try but I really do not believe you will be able to do anything.

Back up all your important data and make clean OS installation. I know it is pretty radical solution but, believe me, the best one.

fairly sure it is a hard drive issue i don't no much about this topic. i know there is 320GB of storage. 2x 160GB SATA hard drives using some sort or RAID drivers or something to combine them? not to sure here. in the bois there was an option to select between RAID and ATA it was on RAID and i tried to run the windows install with ATA selected also

Hello wolf, and welcome to Sevenforums!

Perhaps your hardware isn't working. I'd start with the memory. Remove all but 2 GB of RAM from the computer and see if it boots. If it doesn't, replace the RAM with the RAM you have removed. If it boots, check each RAM using MEMtest: RAM - Test with Memtest86+ - created by Jonathan_King

Remove the bad RAM.

Let me know how this goes.

If you can't download anything at the moment, use the built in windows Memory diagnostics: Memory Diagnostics Tool - created by Brink

My desktop pc has recently started to not load up / boot when I turn it on.

When it manages to turn itself on it all works ok. However oftentimes I have to turn it on and turn it off repeatedly until it finally starts to function.

After going through the same problem today, the pc finally turned on properly and I got into Windows. A few moments after that, the electricity was cut.

Now the pc manages to load up until the Windows XP logo and then crashes. At the loading screen the pc makes three grinding sounds (don't know how to call this... my pc is purring at me ). A blue screen appears for a split second and the pc reboots. No matter what option I select, be it to load in safe mode, last good configuration, and so on, the pc always resets at the XP loading process.

I believe it has something to do with hardware because of the issue with the pc intermittently not even booting up.

I am not too savvy when it comes to pc's, can someone suggest what may be wrong?

Whenever I try to access the site hxxp://iro.ragnarokonline.com it just keeps saying that the server took too long to answer. On the same day it started happening, I visited a humor site, and AVG allerted me it was a Trojan, whenever I browsed through the site. I've runned AVG scans 2 - 3 times in that day, just to make sure it wasn't infected. I need to be sure AVG erased this virus though...I appreciate the help.

A:Having problems with loading a site

Also, some of my friends have asked me to ping the site - but from the 4 tries, all failed. Is it some kind of connection problem, or is it a virus that's keeping me from accessing the site?

This is a very strange one...

I run a web site, www.burntheedge.com and forum /forums and I've been unable to connect to either going on about 6 hours now. All other web sites connect fine, but not my site. My friends are able to connect to it no problem. I've run a ping and traceroute, they look fine. I've looked in to my router config, nothing out of the ordinary. I've rebooted all compuers, including the DSL modem, still nothing.
I'm able to log in to my web providers site (lunarpages.com), but when I try to access the contol panel it hangs and then gives a "page can not be displayed".
The only thing I can think of is that either my ISP or web provider has a block on my IP address??? I don't know why or how but it's all I got. Neither one of them admit this is the case.

My main comptuer dual boots XP / Vista, and both OS'es have IE and Firefox installed, neither one will load the page.
I hooked up my notebook computer, it will not connect either.

I just don't know where to go from here. 2 computers running 3 OS's and 2 different browsers will not connect ONLY to my web site.

I don't know if a hijack log will help, but here's one in advace...

THANKS VERY MUCH for any help

I have been having a problem with the disney.com site. I am a member and have 2 items in my shoppin g cart. The other day I wanted to remove 1 item and continue with checkout. For some reason it takes me to the checkout page but it does not load all of the info. I have the updated IE and have flash. It loads everything else from the site but not the checkout. I also cannot remove the 1 item. Anybody have any ideas what might be wrong? I did contact Disney but they said there was no problem on their end. Thanks for any help.

I wonder if someone would kindly look into the slowness of this site. http://www.racingpost.co.uk

They have updated the site but the new site hangs a lot when loading. I think it may have something to do with the enormous amount of javascript they are using in the code - especially for loading images.

I have used both Firefox and IE but the problem occurs with both browsers.

Is there any technical help anyone can offer if it is just my computer having these problems.

Very Best Wishes

A:Site loading slowly

I just went to that link in Firefox with a DSL connection and it loaded in a blink of an eye. One of two things I can think of for you; 1. Your internet connection at the time is just really sluggish, 2. Your computer is just really slow - maybe too many programs open and running at the same time.

I rarely have any problems with my computer. I try to keep it adware free and I never install things I know will give me unwanted software.

Any sites that have AdSense ads on them load very slow or not at all. Google loads rarely and If I do get it to laod its only for one page load. As if it were cached. I've cleared my cache, my cookies, cleared spyware and adware and even flushed my dns. Anyone else have suggestions? :blackeye:

No matter what browser I use (and I have tried IE, Foxfire, and Opera), the Netflix website does not work properly. On all browsers it has problems loading images, including the buttons needed to make selections. The worst is on IE, which hangs up trying to load images, then goes to a blank red screen and freezes totally. The only way to exit the site then is to end task in Task Manager. The other two browsers are more functional, but Netflix requires IE for its "watch instantly" feature.

Here is what I have already done:

1. Called Netflix. They say they have made no changes to their webpage so it must be my problem.

2. Done a VERY extensive scan for viruses (using multiple programs) culminating in a HJT log that shows no problems according to another tech support forum.

3. Cleared history and cookies, etc. more than once.

I am stumped. The only website that I am having this problem with is Netflix. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

A:Problem ONLY with Netflix site loading

I have been having the same problem with all 3 browsers. Opera functions the best but none of them function correctly. I also called netflix and they told me the problem was probably "java" in my computer. I reinstalled Java with no success. While I was in the process of doing a system restore to see if that might have changed anything or not i decided to hook up another computer that has not been in use. Well guess what Netflix does the same thing on this machine with firefox. I do not have opera on this machine at present. I am going to download it and try it along with IE. I'll let you know what happens.

I have the same problems with Opera and IE as with Firefox. Opera seem to load the fastest of the three but is totally unacceptable and cant be used for instant viewing. Time to call netflix again!

I called netflix and they had me unplug the power to my dsl modem and my router and the site loads perfectly. I hope this helps you.

I can get to most internet but many pages won't load including microsoft, windows update, sony, etc.

Any Ideas why this has occurred?

Hi Sheeter. Welcome to SevenForums

A quick glance at your attached picture shows that the Yahoo site at least, is the mobile version of their Website. (signified by the "m" before the www prefix)

Try accessing the browser based pages and see if there is an improvement.

Hope this helps.

This is not totally a Firefox issue but, since it it the recommended browser, it seemed the best place to post. I have one site only (DadnDaves.net) that has stopped loading correctly. Once I log in, the member page is about 100 pages wide. The top logo is a dark blue box and the account info shows as light blue bars. The links are available in admin. notes but the links to navigate the site are missing. I have had 2 days in the past week where it finally loaded normally. I have tried MSN browser, AM browser, and IE but they only load the blue box for the logo and one line of text. I have done a system restore (Windows XP) to before the problem occurred with no luck. I have entered from my favorites, typing the address, and link from search with the same results. I have no problems with any other site. I am totally stumped. Can anyone help?

A:Page not loading correctly, one site only

Sounds like a website problem rather than a browser problem.

I had a quick look at the site but can't get any further than the first page - Private, members Only!

Anyway, from what I did see it rendered ok for me.

My Internet Explorer is not loading one particular site but another browser is.  The site in question was once a part of Kaspersky's Smart Money list and is a bank.  It has been deleted and that software was recently upgraded to a newer product (Total Security).  I do not know if the a/v is the issue or not.  What I do know is that when I try to load the web page, the browser comes back VERY quickly and states that the address is wrong or my connection to the Internet is down.  Neither is true, of course.
I need some assistance to trouble shoot and try to find out a way to fix this.
System is a HP ENVY, Windows 8.1 x64, IE 11. All MS updates are current.
Enclosed: Screenshot.

A:Internet Explorer not loading one particular site

Try resetting Internet explorer settings to default. Open the run box by holding down the Windows key and pressing "R".  Next Copy and past the following command and click RESET.

RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ResetIEtoDefaults

ESPN3 has stopped loading correctly. There should be a large clickable picture at the top of the screen as well as a list of 'featured events' down the right side that are not appearing. The 'remote access', 'watch now', 'upcoming' and 'replay' buttons do not work, they are clickable but nothing happens when I click them. I am running Windows 7. I have the same result regardless of browser. The site loads properly on my laptop (connected wirelessly) but not on my desktop. I have updated everything I can think of, cleared caches and cookies, reset the router, reset internet settings, disabled add-ons, ran Firefox in safe mode, tried a different user profile and nothing has worked. Help please! Here is a pic of how the site is appearing for me.

A:ESPN3 site not loading properly

I think your major determining factors here would be 1) your Adobe Flash Player and 2) your video card's drivers. Have you updated both of those?

Using either Chrome or IE7 - some web sites just take forever to load, ("waiting for static.techguy,org..............)
It just started yesterday- and it really only happens on a few sites- this site (my favorite) especially.
I have tried system restore successfully- but din't help this problem. I have done a junk file cleanup, I did not clean the registry, I have done a sweep with Malwares Anti Malwares- nothing found. I cleaned my internet cache, not the cookies. Tested my speed at www.speedtest.net and it smokes.
As I type this the page has still not fully loaded-( I type slow too) and the little wheel is just a spinning still?

A:Solved: Web page just keeps on loading (this site especially)

If it's only certain sites, I'd be inclined to suspect server maintenance on a day when the administrators reckon on low traffic. It would depend how many stops your connection makes on the route to the utimate destination.

TSG is working well for me which could just mean I take a different road but it might be worth scanning with some other malware trackers or download HijackThis and post a log back here.

Hey there.

This doesn't happen every time I open a new tab, but on certain occasions. It seems really random, so I'm not sure if there's a specific trigger for it, but when I click on a link that opens in another tab, it'll lock the whole laptop for about a minute and then beep two or three times after that minute and start working again. Sometimes it happens even when it's just loading a website by typing it in via the search bar.

Is there any reason for this happening? I'm pretty sure I have the latest version of Chrome as I've checked, and I've also cleaned my cache, history etc.

If anyone's got any advice, that'd be great!

A:Chrome freezes for a minute when loading a site in new tab

Hello Microserfs,

Do you have many addons installed? You can check them by copying " chrome://extensions/ " in a new tab.

And when you go to the Windows Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete -> Start Task Manager) and right-click Chrome and select Go to process, how much Memory (fourth column) is it using?

Also, when you leave a browser like Chrome and FireFox running for a long time, it will become very slow and it will do as you described, so do you leave Chrome running for a long time? If so, restart it once in a while to speed it up.

Good luck and keep us posted,

I'm having a v/difficult time trying to bring up the Big Fish site. It sits 'loading' without 99% of the time doing so.
When I do bring up the site and am able to download games for trial, after trial period and wishing to purchase the games, when it comes time to Sign In I have exactly the same problem with 'processing the acceptance of it.

I've got a Dell Dimension 5100 which operates on Windows P SP3 and am using IE 8.

I have done the usual - emptying cache, do not save encrypted pages to disk, allowing bigfishgames.com on both Privacy and Security in Internet Options. I have tried to connect to the Big Fish site via IE, search links to Big Fish and through the "Buy Now" button - all without success.

As I am in an area where I only have dial-up access you can imagine my frustration with these delays to connect as I have no option but to wait for it to load since sometimes dial-up is slow to do so even on other sites - but mostly those not accessed before. However in the main, connection with almost every site my computer recognises as safe is quite quick, but for some irritating reason I am yet to fathom, is loathe to behave likewise with Big Fish even though It's URL pastes as safe (as IE displays it now with 'a tick').

I have Rising Sun anti-virus and have instructed it to white list each Big Fish game I have downloaded. I would like to know how to tell RS to ignore the Big Fish site itself but I don'... Read more

Hope this is not considered impatient, but it's been nearly a week since my initial post, so I thought I might just bump it up a bit. Hey I've been trying to access oasisactive.com the last few days but it does not load properly, resulting in me not being able to login to the site.
