Preferred Solution: Solved: Need help with Adobe Flash CS4. Can't edit certain aspects of flash file!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Are all five buttons an instance of one library resource ? Are you trying to change their content through Actionscript or the Flash IDE ?

We have IE 6. Say a user goes to MSN.com. The ad on the right is a Flash object. Some of our users will see that object flickering when scrolling up or down on the page or when hovering their mouse over it. It's quite annoying. Almost all users are running Adobe Flash Player 9, but I think I've seen this happen on systems with Macromedia Flash Player 8 as well. Other systems don't have the problem. I've seen this happen on one system and not another while both seemed to have the same Flash objects installed.

Uninstalling all Flash players using Adobe's prescribed Flash Player uninstall tool seems to work at first, but users later complain again. Note that they just about always end up installing Flash Player 9 again, because sites ask for it. I don't believe I've seen this on any XP systems at all, including my own, but most of our users have Win2K.

Does anybody know why this happens or how to permanently fix it?

Thanks,
Hotshot309

A:Ie 6 - Flash Objects Flickering - Using Adobe Flash Player 9 Activex R28 (shockwave Flash Object V. 9.0.28.0)

More info: Adobe Flash Player 9, Macromedia Flash Player 8, and Macromedia Flash Player 10 all produce the same result--Flash objects that flicker when you put your mouse over any part of them. Moving Flash objects will flicker constantly while moving and stop flickering when the animation is done. SWF files (at least the one at www.stormwerks.com/linked/stuf/AYB2.swf) work without a problem when using Adobe Flash Player 9.

If I don't have Adobe Flash Player 9 installed, the Win2K machines prompt me to install them for almost any site that uses Flash (I guess most recent Flash objects cannot be viewed with the older Macromedia Flash Players).

Any suggestions?

Hi,

My friend recently asked me to help her download some music video flv files from the website MTVIggy. I normally use Orbit Downloader for saving flv's I like from youtube but it doesn't seem to work on this site. I've tried a program called Replay Media Catcher but ut also doesn't work. Does anyone know of a program/tool that is actually capable of downloading the flv files from MTVIggy?

Thank you for your help. It is greatly appreciated.

A:How to record rtmp:// flash video .flv stream from embedded Adobe Flash Player

As the site is owned by Viacom/MTV, my guess is that it is DRM (Digital Rights Management) protected and videos can't be downloaded. I normally use Real Player when I need to download embedded videos but I don't think it will work and I'm not aware of a free product that will download DRM protected videos.

I uninstalled Adobe Flash with their uninstall tool because I read somewhere you needed to update it because of major security flaw. I went over to the Adobe website to try and find an update, as well as a tutorial on how to update, as I had no idea what version I had. Their website is a mess unless you want to purchase something, and then you can find whatever your want. Since I had no idea what version of player, I just DL their uninstall tool, then DLed their new flash. I used their uninstall tool, and then reinstalled the new Adobe Flash Player. The only PU that came up was that it couldn't install in Opera. I went looking to try and configure it, then I read in the post below, you had to go to the link, http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/ for shockwave, and figured it would lead me to flash and all that crap. I remembered what a PIA it was. I went over there, and it says flash works, but I still don't know if it's the latest flash or not. On the right it says I need to install "other sw", but that probably because I don't have shockwave installed. BTW, when I used their uninstaller from an administrator account, it completely wiped out my FX profile in the limited user account for some reason. It didn't do anything to the FX profiles in the administrator's accounts. I keep an updated copy of the limited user account's FX profile, and just reinstalled it, but I'm sick and tired of adobe flash and all the BS your have ... Read more

A:Adobe Flash uninstall tool,& is there a better/safer flash player w/o the hassles?

The flash player for IE and Firefox is in C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash. The IE one is called Flash9f.ocx and for Firefox its NPSWF32.dll.

You can view current version, by going to a page with a flash object on the web page, right click on the Flash object and select About Adobe Flash Player 9 and it will take you to Adobe site and display version.
You can also get version from the files about on the Version or Details tab of its properties.

As for removal, just either use the Uninstall tool in the same folder (See above) or delete all the files in the folder to remove it.

Hello,

I uninstalled Flash from a MacBook Air (Mavericks) because I suspected it of causing problems (long story, and I hope now resolved).

When I try to install it again I get: 'hdiutil attach failed - no mountable file systems'. Lots of people on the Adobe forums have written about this problem. Some of them solved it by getting rid of a specific file associated with a thumb drive, but I don't have that drive. The others have not received answers beyond 'you might have a corrupt dmg'. But I've now downloaded a lot of dmgs, and all give the same result. Maybe something is preventing them downloading properly, but what? Or perhaps they're intact but something is missing from my Adobe files? It's possible that I butchered the Flash folders somehow while trying to uninstall Flash in the first place

I'm attaching a screen shot.

What's the big difference if any between shockwave player and flash player? I see both in the control panel.

However, one says I have flash player 10, but I have just now downloaded their newest version 10.1. And that's been the second time at least for the same update. ??

The other says I have shockwave player 11.5. Both are Adobe.

By the way, in the control panel and over on the right side, there's a column that lists how often used and also where you can delete a program. But with the new version, altho it's listed as loaded on the left side, the right is blank except for the word delete. In other words, no listing for size like all the other programs.

I am having problems with Adobe Flash 11. When I try to run a program that needs Flash, it says Adobe Flash needs updating or installing. I go through the recommended procedure and then get a screen to say that Flash has been installed successfully. When I try to run my original program I again get a message to say that Adobe Flash needs updating. I'm using the latest version of Firefox running on Windows 7 64 bit. This problem has only started a few days ago and I have made no changes that could account for this.
Any suggestions.

The original program that needs Adobe Flash runs OK under IE 64 bit, so the problem seems to be with FF.

I hope this is the correct forum for this problem.
About one week ago, unsure of the exact timing, I began getting a window opening when I attempt to access numerous sites, such as the news videos on my home page. The window has a gray back ground with a Lego type image in the center with the message to click on the image to view what I have selected. Clicking on the image opens a block which appears from the upper left of the screen with the message that the program or site I am trying to access wants that site to allow Adobe Flash to open it. My choices are "allow" or "always allow".
What did I do to require this? Is Adobe Flash necessary for the operation of my system? This is a frustrating situation and I would like to remove Flash if possible.
Thanks in advance,
Jim

Are you referring to a video from email attachments or links?

What's the format for the videos? .flv?
If the videos are indeed from email attachments, and the format is .flv, you'll need a player capable of opening this type of file on your hard drive, not in streaming, in which case the Adobe Flash Player would work.

If you wish to play the videos on Windows Media Player, then you'll need the proper codec to play .flv videos.

Otherwise, many players will play that video format specifically, but if you're gonna download a player, might as well be the best, which can play just about everything, VLC Media Player.

No responses....I'm wondering if there isn't an answer, or do I have a computer plague you don't want to catch, lol.

Some things I have learned.....This problem doesn't happen on IE8, and seems specific to Firefox. I spend some time in the guitar discussion forums, and earlier today I received a drop-down message that took over the top half of the screen and said "Firefox has prevented the unsafe plugin Adobe Flash from running on www.strat-talk.com".

I'm guessing this is some incompatibility between the current version of Firefox and Adobe Flash. Would switching to an earlier version of Firefox help, or am I over-simplifying it? .....I wonder if somehow I inadvertently deleted something that's important to the compatibility between browser and plugin. ( I recently got rid of some old downloads, such as installers, and old electronics PDF's that I had to download to access. I don't recall deleting anything that appeared to be programming related)

I've been having difficulty updating Adobe Flash so I uninstalled it, saved the download to my desktop, closed my browser and tried installing Flash. However, I keep getting the following Adobe Flash Error popup:

"Only a single instance of this application can run"

I look in the Services utility and the Adobe Acrobat Udate Service status is: "Started" and start up type is "manual"

Not knowing whether or not it would help, I stopped the service to see if this was the problem and apparently it is not so I started it again.

Where is this "other" instance running from?

I've ran Adwcleaner, Superantispyware (free), Malwarebytes (free) and no malware seems to be infecting my system.

Any suggestion would be appreciated. thank you.

Hello, I have been trying to get adobe flash to install on my puter but everytime I do the next time I use an application that requires flash it tells me to update flash. I have installed it about 5 times now. I visited the adobe support pages but did not find help. Any help at all would be appreciated. I have windows vista home premium and ie7 and mozilla.

Thank you all,

try uninstalling flash plugin and firefox, then reinstall firefox, then re download and install flash plugin from the adobe site directly (it will be an exe file), then run it.

Please someone help me!
Over the last few months I have become increasingly frustrated while trying to watch videos on You Tube.

Every time I click on to watch I get a screen saying I need to install the latest version of Flashplayer to view the film.

So far I estimate I've downloaded it at least 10 times with the same result.
NOTHING HAPPENS. NOTHING PLAYS.

I have uninstalled all copies, then reinstalled direct from the Adobe site.Then contacted Adobe twice to try and get some help, with the same result;
Zero answer! NO Help!

As you know from previous questions, I run Windows7 64bit.

There must be a lot wrong with Adobe stuff considering the amount of unhappy consumers I came across on their forums.

Adobe Flash Player was working well until I cleaned up the computer with ComboFix. The computer worked well, much faster, but Adobe Flash Player was deleted in the process and now I can't get it back. I have tried everything from doing a complete uninstall to trying reinstalling several times. It goes through the motions of installing but when I try to use it it isn't there. I have looked at some of the other posts and have tried their suggestions but I haven't found one that worked for anyone. I hope someone can tell me how to install this program as many of my apps need this to work. I am running Windows XP and I am pretty sure it is 32-bit. I also have I.E 7 installed.

When I ran a Skybolt scan on my main hp I lost the ability to play Utube items. I tried to reinstall Adobe Flash Player and it bombed requiring that I get rid of Internet Explorer (I use exp 11.). I am a MS addict and won't scrap the way I have been doing business to satisfy a company that demands I load Chrome (I don't like it) and Macfee (don't like them either). I tried everything I am capable of doing all to no avail. The installer stops.
I have Flash Player running on a older Dell lap top and I can use that. Unless.. there is another program that will run these videos that is simple to install, doesn't need Adobe, and works.
So, question is another product???? Any advice will be appreciated.
Running latest Windows 7.

Hi there,
I'm looking for info.
I want to listen to radio on my netbook (Lenovo s10-2) and was wondering if by downloading Adobe Flash 10 to operate on my netbook would slow it down or do you think it would even work. Most of Adobe is configured to work with IE. I don't have that installed and don't really want to becaause it's a hog.
What do you suggest? Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Firefox just updated automatically. Then there appeared a screen saying to update Adobe Flash Player now. I didn't know what Adobe was (such a newbie) so I did a search and came up with many complaints about it.

It said it was for IE, Firefox and a couple of other browsers. I looked at the instructions where there were specific instructions for browsers but nothing for Firefox.

Do I really need this? Can I just keep using the version I have?

I occasionally use IE - will I have to update that too?

Obviously, I'm nervous about something going wrong with no tech to walk me through it.

When you go to the Adobe Flash download site, you download the current Flash program. Now, does it also install the flash player for I.E. and Firefox also or do you have to download them individually? Any other adobe programs that I should be aware of to update? Thanks

A:Solved: Updating Adobe Flash?

Individually for IE and Firefox/other browsers. Chrome is the exception, it has Flash built in so you just update the whole browser.

There's also Adobe Reader and Shockwave that should be kept up to date if you have either installed.
