I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

You have this HP Notebook x2 - 10-p020ca.
It was purchased in January 2017 and came with Windows 10 Home 64-bit and came with a 32 GB(28 GB actual capacity) eMMC storage drive.
Because its storage drive has no free space left, that's my guess why Windows 10 Home 64-bit is 19 months out-of-date.

I've used nothing but HP printers since 1997, so I'm not familiar with how Canon printers are set up and work.
The printer properties in your Canon PIXMA MG2400 printer should have settings that allow you to select landscape or portrait or auto mode.
Make use of its on-line manual and see it helps you.

In printing screens, it is often necessary to set the printing orientation to either Portrait or Landscape. However, drilling down in menus until you get to where you can set this is boring and time-consuming. Is there any way to do this quickly (button/macro or the like) for Win 7?

I have a very weird situation. I have a user that is printing invoices from a web portal and every time she prints, they default to landscape. We have setup the printer in IE to Portrait but they always come up as landscape. We had her login on a different computer and it comes up fine but on her system it is not. I had her try printing to another printer and it still comes up landscape.

I thought it could be a print driver but unfortunately I don't believe it is.

She is on XP SP3
IE 7

This is very weird, please let me know if more information is needed.

I am having this problem with a windows 7 HP Elitebook 2540p laptop. Whenever I print a power point presentation on the landscape setting, the first page of the presentation comes out in portrait. This problem only happens when printing to one of our toshiba copiers in color. This is not a problem with a smaller hp color printer also hooked up to the computer. I have checked the orientation settings and everything seems normal. I have even replaced the laptop with a new formatted one with the most updated drivers. The printers are toshiba 3530 and 2830s.Any help would be appreciated.Edit: Moved topic from Win 7 to the more appropriate forum. ~ Animal

How can I get it to print in horizontal or Landscape format?

Check within the Printer Properties settings or Printer Options

When you select Print there will normally be a settings options or similar option.

Ensure you have your page orientation set to Landscap in this as well.

I have two printers here in my office, one that we use for printing normal size sheets of paper and a Dymo Labelwriter 330. The labels in the Dymo are long and not tall and must be printed in landscape mode. Is there a way to force (or default) that particular printer to always print in landscape? I've tried setting the preferences on the printer itself and they seem to have no effect on anything else. We waste a lot of labels because people forget to change the preferences before they print.

I recently uninstalled and reinstalled the software (Multipass Manager 3.01) for my Canon C5500 printer; during the reinstall, I am receiving the following error "Failed to register mpservic.exe to windows NT as domain or service". Can anyone give me any insight on how to make the software register this executable to the service MPSERVICE? I tried to remove all entries for the Canon printer in the registry and reinstalled the software; but I am receiving this same error everytime and the software is uninstallled after the error. Please help!!

A:Reinstall of Canon Multipass 3.01 software for Canon C5500 printer

Two things to try: If you have anti-virus software, disable it, uninstall the cannon stuff. Reboot (be sure av is still disabled), and reinstall. Then reenable av, restart for good measure.

Another suggestion from Canon, though not apparently EXACTLY your issue:

I have a Canon i850 printer which I have immensely enjoyed using these past four+ years. For one thing, I've never had even one paper-jam during that time.

My understanding always has been that it is best to have separate components, so that's why I've always owned a dedicated printer. However, it appears that the present-day trend is more toward all-in-one units. Actually, I'm in the market only for a printer, but if the Canon MP600 all-in-one is technologically advanced far beyond my i850, then I would strongly considering buying one.

The MP600 has a scanner (which I don't need, although it would provide me with a back-up) and it has several modern features of convenience which my i850 doesn't have. What I would especially like to know is whether or not the MP600 produces appreciably better results with both text and photos than my i850. Also, would it be faster and cheaper in the long run than the MP600? While quality of results is more important than anything else, speed, economy, and convenience also enter into the equation.

(I was also considering the Canon PIXMA iP6700D photo printer, but from what I've read so far it appears that the MP600 all-in-one is more highly-regarded.)

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has an opinon on this matter. Thank you very much.

When I tried to install a new Canon Pixma ip6220D printer on my Sony Vaio Windows XP Media Edition w/ SP2 desktop I receive an error that the computer cannot detect the printer after I hook-up the USB cable to the computer from the printer. This is after a balloon dialog appears in the system tray noting that new hardware was found - the hardware being a Canon ip6220D. The Canon software notes that it could not detect the printer and that there was a printer driver failure. Eventually a Windows error box appears noting that an error occurred installing the new hardware.

I have the same problem with a printer that previously had no problems. That printer is a HP Photosmart 3210xi.

I ran malware check using Threat Fire 3 which didn't find anything.

I have tried different USB ports with no success. I have tried USB ports that other devices use with no success.

Any suggestions on how to attack this problem would be appreciated.

My trusty old Canon printer S400 finally has decided to act up and quit on me after several years. I am getting an Error 5700 when I attempt to print to it. I can not locate what this error means.

I don`t know what the error means, but have you tried uninstalling then reinstalling the printer?

Check the cables for damage and connection.

If this doesn`t work then maybe a new printer is in order.

I'm Ryan. New to these forums. I thought I would ask this question here since I have tried a lot of trouble shooting steps here. I am using the CANON MG 3570 All in One. My ADSL Modem Router is the TP Link TD-W8968. I need help setting up the wireless. I just cannot seem to do it.

I follow the driver instructions, but it's not able to install the driver over the network. I have tried doing it via WPS, Cableless Setup, and wireless through USB. They all don't work. I do have a software printer driver file which prints directly to PDF, so I don't know if that interferes with us but I am able to access the AIO through USB connectivity. My OS configuation is as follows.

Windows 7 Ultimate x64
AMD BE 2350
No working Optical Drive. I downloaded the drivers through the internet.

Router Settings:
DHCP - Enabled
Firewall in Router - off
Wireless Security - WPA 2 Personal
SSID Broadcast - On

If there is anything else that I need to give, let me know but I'd love to set this up. If it's a unit malfunction, I'll definitely take it up with Canon but I thought I should do all the trouble shooting here.

Blessings in Christ,

Hi guys,

I have an issue that I don't know quite know, how to approach.

I would like the mentioned printer to revert back to a "black and white" setting pr. default every time a user have chosen to print out a job in color. Naturally, I would like to set this on the printserver itself and have the setting filter down to the entire userbase. How do I do this?

The printserver runs on a MS 2003 server R2. Setting "black and white" as admin in the printer's properties on the printserver itself, changes nothing.

last week my canon i960 bubble jet printer was getting error meesage 5c00 (waste ink). a buzzing noise with the orange light flashing 4 times which menas ink run out. But all cartridges had plenty ink left. It said to turn off hte printer and turn back on. I did this many itmes, Print head moved fine but hte sponge on the right side was soaking with ink, apparently ink waste. I blotted it until it was fairly dry. After repeated tries I finally was able to print sometihng but then hte problem repeated itself. 2 cartridges ran out very quickly after being half full, so I knew something was wrong. I repalced both. I also unistalled the printer and reinstalled. Driver device working properly in device manger. Now when I turn on the printer, it not only flashes 4 orange lights with that annoying buzz but the printhead is now not sliding back and forth as its supposed to. Also, I was able to manually slide the printhead whne I cleaned the sponge. Now it is stuck and unmovable.
I chekced the ports and theyre connected yet I think the computer is not reading the printer because evne my laser jet which I havent used in over a year is not priniting. It did print a spec page but it doesnt print from the computer.
i unplugged computer and cables from printer to computer and then replugged. Still notihng.

If I receive a reply to this query that contains any "useful" info, I'll be pleasantly surprised. My OS is Windows 98. Several days ago I had installed a Canon BJC 620 printer. The appropriate driver was installed. I've been using it and it has been printing without any problems. Went to print tonight and it wouldn't print at all. Opened the Control Panel, went to printers, and the printer isn't there! The only icon in the box is the one that says "Add New Printer." Went to "Add New Hardware" to reinstall printer. My printer is not in the list provided. Am using a parallel port. Can anyone tell me, step by step, just how to install this printer? Does anyone know what in the world caused the printer to just disappear as if it had never been installed in the first place? Like I said, I really would appreciate any help anyone can provide, but I'm not holding my breath. Thanks.

Hello and Welcome to TSF!

I wonder if you have an Auto IP or DHCP setup for this printer. This need to be a Fixed IP, any wireless device with Auto IP assigned is not recommended.

See if the Printer IP matches with the wireless computers in your network, click on Start=> Printers and Faxes or you may also find this from Control Panel. Locate the Canon printer, right click on it, go to Properties, Port Tab and in here you shd be able to see the IP Address. From the Canon printer, look in the Menu Setting, under Network or TCP/IP setting to locate the IP Address, make sure it's on Static and the IP matches the IP in all computers in your network.

This is one question Canon will not like.

A friend has a new 64 bit Win 7 computer and an "older" Canon BJC 250 printer that she wants to be able to use just as she did with XP. It connects with USB and Win 7 recognizes the connection but the printer does not show up anywhere, such as on Devices and Printers page. I have dowloaded the Canon driver but am stymied at that point. Suggestions and help appreciated.

A:Canon BJC printer and Win 7 64 bit

I've looked at Canon's driver page for the BJC-250 and unfortunately that model is not supported on windows 7, nor is it supported on Windows Vista. The last driver that Canon released for that model was for Windows XP in 2003 and that definitely won't work on Windows 7.

Canon have evidently decided that the BJC-250 is too old for them to spend money writing new drivers for it. This is not unusual as other device manufacturers have also done the same with some of their discontinued models.

So if, as you say, you've already downloaded a driver for it I'm puzzled as to where you got it from.

The bottom line is that you'll have to buy a new printer for Windows 7.
