Kodak Imaging Default Print Settings

Q: Kodak Imaging Default Print Settings

Does anyone know how to change Kodak Imaging default print settings so that it shows "Fit to page" in the Print format drop down under the Image Options tab on the Print dialogue window?? I would guess it's a registry setting because there's no way for me to apply this as a default in the application itself.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Don't ask me how I did it, but I must have changed a setting when in MS WORD or WIN XP.

EVERYTIME I print a doc on MS WORD, a doc summery sheet is printed too.

How do I turn this off? It is driving me crazy and wasting paper and ink!

Please respond in DUMMIES 101 style.

A:DEFAULT print settings

Try printing something via File -- Print. With the "Print" dialog displayed, click on "Options". You may find that "Document Properties" (under "Include with document") is checked -- if so, uncheck it & continue the printing. This should reset it for subsequent prints.

Forgive me if this has been posted, but I'm getting database errors when trying to search. I print from IE7 a LOT from a work application, and have to change the zoom to 70% and set landscape almost everytime. Anyone know of a reg hack that can set the defaults to what I need them to be?

Having added files from a Win98 installation CD into a directory on my XP system and registered the critical files as per instructions below, I have used Kodak Imaging in WinXP Home for well over a year, if not two. This has worked on more than one installation by following this procedure......

1. Make a new subdirectory in 'Programs' called 'Imaging'

2a. for W9x - Copy into your new subdirectory 'KODAKIMG.EXE' from the
\Windows directory and the following files from \Windows\System:

3. Register the OCX files in the system. If you have installed XP
Powertoys do this by right-clicking the new 'Imaging' subdirectory IN
THE LEFT PANE of Explorer. Click 'Open Command Window Here'. If not,
then in Start/Run, type 'cmd' and navigate to the new imaging
sub-directory. At the prompt type:

regsvr32 imgadmin.ocx

Repeat for:

regsvr32 imgedit.ocx
regsvr32 imgscan.ocx
regsvr32 imgthumb.ocx

(Unregistering is regsvr32 imgadmin.ocx /u)

4. Now when you double-click Kodakimg.exe the program should load ok.

5. Finally, change the association of .tif and .tiff files in WinXP
Explorer to point to kodakimg.exe.

Hi All,

I have a problem with a piece of bundled software, which I once enjoyed using.

It's Kodak Imaging for windows (98). In the past it's been a reliable scanning buddy which allowed me to scan, sort and insert scanned doc's.

I am in the process of scanning multi-page documents and found this one program easy to use.

Since the re-install it's does allow me to even set-up any of the most basic scan options. It won't allow me to get to any of them at all.

Can someone give me a tip or trick to get the software running again.
I'll even settle for a link to a site where I could download the last known version or version update.

My Kodak ESP C310 inkjet printer started producing poor printouts a few weeks ago. Up until then, from new, I have always used genuine Kodak replacement cartridges as needed. However, I succumbed to temptation and installed "compatible" cartridges, (ie. both black and colour). These were branded as KD-30BK and KD-30C respectively.

The printouts continued to be unacceptable. I blamed the cartridges, replaced them with genuine Kodak ones, and got reasonable, (but not as good as I expect), results. Fairly quickly, the quality went down, until today when an attempt to print text only, from Open Office, gave unreadable output.

I replaced again, just now, this time replacing genuine with genuine. First I only replaced the black as it was just text being printed. No better. Then I used the Properties setting to change from NORMAL to BEST. That got me one pretty good printout, but a subsequent printout was again virtually invisible, almost just a blank sheet coming out.

Next I remembered that I had tried to use up laser printer paper in this inkjet machine, so I removed that, and inserted plain "copier" paper, that has always been fine, perfect even, before. Nope, blank printout. Finally I replaced the colour cartridge too, (using genuine Kodak), kept the same copier paper in the tray, and set the Properties to BEST. Nope, not a single drop of ink on the paper. Help!

A:Kodak C310 Won't Print

Might need a new Printhead. (Not cartridge)

Read other 1 answers

I have a Kodak All-in-one printer/scanner/copier that appears to not want to print black ink.

To rule out the possibility of this being a printer driver issue, I just tried to copy something using the easy copy button on top, telling it to make a black and white copy of this cross-word puzzle from a new paper. This feature doesn't (as far as I know) rely on the computer at all, and should not be dependant on software or drivers... What it printed out practically looks like a faint negative. Where black is supposed to be, it's white. Where white is supposed to be, it's a faint grey. VERY strange.

If you tried to print a test page with it, you would get nothing but the colored Windows logo (the four boxes) and everything else would be blank.

This is a brand spanking new black ink cartridge as well, the third one purchased since the printer was first purchased 7 months ago. And I know it's not used anywhere near the ink needed to merit purchasing any new ink. But when this started acting up, it was thought replacing with a fresh batch would solve the problem.

I've also uninstalled and re-installed the Kodak easy share software and print drivers twice, but nothing has helped.

I'm thinking the next thing I try is to wrap a chain around it and throw it off a boat, drag it along the floor, and then detach it near the entrence side of a the spillway of a dam....

A:Kodak All-in-one 5100 does not print with black ink

I cannot count how many issues I've had with all-in-ones, to the point I buy them like disposable dishes. Buy one cheap with ink, it runs out, chuck it (or sell it on ebay) and buy another one. I've even saved money (due to ink costs...) overall.

Also, stick to laser printers. Even though the cost of cartridges are higher compared to ink jet, they last 100x's longer. For example my old HP 6L is still using the same cartridge for nearly 3 years. Try that with an inkjet, I don't think you'd make 6 months even if you never used it. Btw the 6L is the only printer I've kept, and it's nearly 10 years old, even though I have a newer samsung color laser, I still use this reliable guy a lot.

A:Kodak 5200 printer does not get print jobs

Uninstall the Kodak software/drivers using Add and Remove programs, delete the printer from Devices and Printers, reboot, and install from scratch using the installation disc (or the latest drivers and software from the Kodak website).

If you already followed the reinstallation, as noted above, what error did you get during the installation or where did it fail. One of the last parts of the installation is a test print (to which you usually have to acknowledge that it worked or it didn't).

We recently moved to another location in the same city, but when I went to try to print from my Gateway Laptop on the Kodak 7250 printer, it says that the printer is disconnected. I have restarted the computer, turned the printer off waited and then turned it back on and have turned off the router and then turned it back on. Greetings everyone. This is my first post however, I do use this site for information and research. Here's my scenario:

I have created an Windows 8 Professional image on a Dell XPS 12 and have everything configured. I'm ready to customize my Default user profile but I'm not sure that I'm doing it correctly. I have created and imaged several Windows 7 PC's.

Steps to customize Default profile:

1. Log in as an administrator with another account (not the built in administrator account).
2. Double click the Users file (c:\users) and select show hidden files.
3. Right click on the Default hidden folder and rename to Default Back.
4. Make a copy of the profile that you want to customize (c:\users\joe)
5. Rename the copy of joe to Default.
6. Got to Advanced system settings and delete original joe profile.
7. Run sysprep.

Everything works with the exception of the Metro tiles. After you copy the original profile and rename it to Default, the Metro tiles stop working. You cannot open any of the built in Metro apps such as IE, Mail, Calendar, Messenger, etc...

Please tell me that I'm doing something obviously wrong. The above method works on my Window 7 images but has an adverse effect in Windows 8 by disabling the Metro tiles.

Thanks is advance,

A:How do you prepare the Default profile before imaging?

I am currently setting up an image for a small business. The image is Windows 10.
I have the admin profile all set up the way I want the other profiles to look, after sysprep has been ran and the oobe crap has worked.
Question is, how do I get the standard default profile to look the way I have my admin profile?
For instance, I have a custom background with the company logo, a few changes to the start menu and taskbars, and some desktop shortcuts.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

A:Copy default profile for imaging

You need to use the CopyProfile component in settings pass Specialize in your answer file, setting its value to True:

<settings pass="specialize">
<component ... (here the long list w. language, processor architecture and so on) ... >
Tutorial: Windows 10 Image - Customize in Audit Mode with Sysprep - Windows 10 Forums

Notice that as has been discussed in the above mentioned tutorial thread, the CopyProfile component has a minor bug and we are waiting Microsoft to fix it. At the moment it also copies the recent files of the built-in administrator in Audit Mode to default user profile, and adds the built-in admin's desktop to end user's Quick Access. Workaround is to completely emtpy the built-in admin desktop and recent files in Audit Mode before sysprepping, and removing the Desktop shortcut from the File Explorer Quick Access.

We had a glitch in May 07 with our Easyshare softare after some Windows updates, and tried the repair feature, then the uninstall with no results. Not sure if they are related!!!

I cannot get Kodak Easyshare software ver5 to uninstall completely on my Dell 8400 PC, even with their kodak clear7.exe cleaner utility file. It leaves folders and registry entries.
We have a problem with the One Touch feature not loading properly so the computer does not recognise the Kodak printer dock to send pictures to, it wants to reset back to my default Dell printer everytime I select to send to the Kodak printer stating that the software does not support the current driver. Well, duh..it's the driver that got installed from the disc. This don't make sense.
I have tried to set the Kodak as default, no difference. Upon upgrading to ver6, the error message changes to "There is a printer error", nothing else.
We have been on the phone for days with Kodak and they finally said it had to sent to their research department and they will call us when/if they have a solution. Until then, we have an expensive camera charger, but no photo printer.
I've tried shareware registry cleaners, none seem to correct the problem, shy of paying the $29.95 that most want for their full versions...just to see if they work.

Any ideas???

Currently we are developing an Image for the Ideapad 510S and the 520S. Due to licensing we want to use the Image of the Ideapad itself. To accomplsh this we prepare the image by stripping it down (Lenovo stuff away, default apps removed what not is needed). After this, we run Sysprep with generalize option and oob option. But then, there is absolutely no way Sysprep can be ran. It breaks with an error and despite all advise from Microsoft we cannot get it to work. With a Thinkpad it is also possible, but with the Ideapad not. And you can imagine that it is a big problem because it will be about 300-600 devices  next year we will deliver. The solution would be an enterprise grade laptop, but these laptops will be used by "special" persons and our experience is that each device will not survive more then 10-12 months and these laptops are "give and forget" and have no network connection (eg, laptops are used in highly isolated environment where people only come out after they fullfill their time - thats all i can tell".So ... Here is my situation:

I have upgraded a few days ago my daughter's PC from Windows 7 home premium to Windows 10 Home. The upgrade (a clean install) was done on a brand new SSD (Samsung 860 Evo 250gb). After the upgrade, I loaded several programs and created an image of my C: drive with Macrium reflect v7.2 free.

When I installed the Samsung Magician software I realized that AHCI mode was not activated. So I went into the UEFI and turned AHCI mode on. I saved and rebooted the PC. On reboot what I got was a blue screen of death (BSOD). In the process, I lost my Boot manager and had a hard time reboting. Now, everything is screwed up. Sometimes the PC boots and sometimes it does not. It is a mess. It is not reliable at all. When it boots though, everything works normally. Every time, I just do not know if I will be able to reboot or not.

I did not know that I should have enabled the AHCI mode in the BIOS (or UEFI if you prefer) BEFORE installing Windows 10.

To solve the problem, I am thinking of running a restore with Macrium Reflect as I have an image of the boot drive dated the day PRIOR to the day I changed the AHCI mode in the UEFI. BEFORE I restore, I want to change the UEFI setting of AHCI mode to ON.

My question is this:

Question 1
If I do just that, will it save my butt ? I mean not have to re-install everything.

Question 2
Will windows install the necessary drivers for the AHCI mode (after the image is restored) or will it turn AHCI mode back to IDE... Read more

Yeah, you may think this seems like just a normal message from oc'ing too much, but a problem-I haven't overclocked anything! It booted to that point, then my hard drive went mad clicking and crashed. This was after it being turned on and off to see if my graphics card was booting because I had no video, but it turned out I had just been downright stupid and plugged it into the onboard graphics. Anyone know what could have happened? Thanks

P.S. would the power drawing thing (molex on my case fan) need to have a seperate connector or just draw power from another device? Thanks.

A:'Previous overclock settings failed, default settings enabled'

If this happens just once then I wouldn't worry about it too much but the PSU or HDD could have something to do with it.

You can connect a molex connector fan to its own power connector or you can put it on an optical drive's connector for example, but it's ok to do either as they don't use much power.

Hi Guys,

I've narrowed down my reserach to 3 cameras (Canon-S1-IS, Kodak-DX-7590, Kodak-DX-7440).....I've searched on internet and these are the cons

Kodak-dx-7440 : Low optical zoom (ok for me)

Kodak-dx-7590 : No image stablization

Canon-S1-IS : very bad Indoor/lowlight focusing, EVF freezes, comes with alkaline batteries, too small LCD, bad focusing overall

Now my requirements are -

1) Family events/parties (mostly outdoor night, low light, low light indoor shots),

2) Sight seeing (mostly daylight shots of monuments, buildings etc, can be night shots too like of Times Square NYC),

I want to use automatic settings and my top priority is to get good shots in a variety of light conditions all at some automatic (without having to fiddle around with the complex settings, although I'll learn them later on). As for the 10x zoom, I'm just considering it for fun right now, but if the cams with zoom don't perform well in low light / bright light conditions in automatic mode then I'll leave them. I'm not planning to buy a tripod or do bird watching or do wild life shooting etc, my shots will be around family events, indoors and sight seeing types mostly.

Please suggest which one of the above 3 cams would be the best for these requirements.

Thanks in advance.

A:Canon-S1-IS or Kodak-DX-7590 or Kodak-DX-7440

From what you say the 7440 sounds like what you need. The 33mm wide angle is wider than most for including more in the shot. The 4X zoom range is good for most photography if you aren’t into wildlife photography. Flash range is adequate.

Jeff at DCRP said this in his review:
“There's a lot to like about the Kodak EasyShare DX7440 -- heck, I even bought one for my mom. It's easy-to-use, very responsive, full-featured, and expandable to boot. The biggest weakness is on the camera is the image quality -- photos were "muddier" that I like to see, especially on things with fine detail like grass or trees. Don't let this scare you off, though. For people like mom who print at 4 x 6 inches or downsize for e-mailing, these are non-issues. "Pixel inspectors" who view the images on-screen at 100%, or those who print larger than 8 x 10 should probably try another camera. The DX7440's photos have vibrant color (perhaps too much so) and very little redeye, and I can attest that they look great when printed.”

He tests almost every camera that comes out, and if he bought one for his mom it is probably a decent and easy to use camera.

I recently had the same issue. Assuming your using XP just go delete everything including the ports. Then xp should plug and play or if your accessing over the network its should remote install. This is usually easier than trying to trouble shoot a connection problem.

Since installing a new computer last month, printing has become troublesome. I want default print preferences for all Word 2010 documents to be single-sided printing at Fast Draft quality, but I find no place to set such a default and have to open Printer Properties and make adjustments in the settings for nearly every document I print.
If I don't go through this irritating and time wasting process, documents will often print double-sided or at 'Normal' quality. It's very rare that I need 'Normal' or 'Best" quality (both of which slow down the printer and use more ink) and it's even rarer that I want to print double-sided. How can I set the default preferences I want and be assured they will remain the default for all Word 2010 documents, whether printed by 'File, Print' or by clicking the Quick Print icon on the Quick Access toolbar?

(windows 7) I accidentally messed up the security settings in the "Default Folder" (a shortcut?) of the Users folder.
I removed administrators permissions , that caused my pc to be unable to restore to previous restore point correctly. However, I was able to re-add the admin permission and everything now is fine.
Yet I need help here.
1 could anyone post screenshots of the default "default folder" security settings? I need to set it back to the default one even though now it works fine.
2 why the hell does that folder NOT HIDDEN? Are yours not hidden as well? Of course the option to hide all system file is checked on my pc. The only reason I messed with that folder is because I thought it was just a normal folder and not a system folder. Anyway to get it back to be invisible?
Thanks for helps in advanced. And I don't want to go to Microsoft supports because they always give robotic replies with no helps at all.

In Excel 97, is there a way to make "gridlines" the default setting in Page Setup, Sheet?

A:Excel 97: Print Gridlines by Default

Find the location of the XLSTART folder on your PC and write down the path.

Also, double-click the folder and see if there is a file in there called personal.xls. If NOT, follow the directions under #1. If there is, follow #2.

New Excel workbook.
Turn gridlines on.
File-Save as.
Call it personal.xls and save it in the XLSTART folder.
While still open, hit Window-Hide.
Save again.
Close Excel.

Open the file called personal.xls.
Hit Window-Unhide.
Turn gridlines on.
Hit Window-Hide.
Save again.
Close Excel.

When you open Excel again, this should be turned on.

I don't know of any way to alter this list other than possibly uninstalling and reinstalling printers but even then it may well go back to how it is, mine appear to be listed alphabetically

I normally use OpenOffice- but like the light feel of AbiWord and set it as my default .rtf program. It always worked fine until recently I plugged my Brother HL-1440 laser printer into a different USB "outlet" on the computer.

That goofed everything up- until I re-installed the printer; (for every other USB appliance I have- the computer seems to make allowance- but for this printer it seems to make a difference- I can live with that).

Every other piece of software seems to accept the new default printer "HL-1440-second copy". But AbiWord doesn't seem to "get it". When I select >file >print- it shows me the print dialog--- even shows the correct default printer and tells me it is "READY"--- but it won't print too it.

I tried re-installing AbiWord-- to no avail. Same thing. I guess I could try each of the USB outlets until I find the correct one-- but somehow that seems like giving up too easily (there are 6).

I was a bit surprised to not find AbiWord listed in the Add/Remove Programs under Control Panel--- apparently it installs differently. I did re-install it over itself.

thank for your considerations,

I have 4 printers on my network that I have a perculiar problem with.
These printers have been installed locally and set up for A4 paper. THey are shared across the network as all the printers are.
The problem is that no matter what application is being used the printer settings within that application always default to letter when using any of the problem printers.
It doesn't matter if they are being used locally or across the network the problem is the same.
Obviously the applications are not picking up the details from the printer settings in NT.
The problem I have is why these 4 printers on these 4 PC's.
2 of the printers are HP 6P laserjets, but I have others on the network that are fine.
The other 2 are panisonic KX p1150 and KX p2023.
I have tried reinstalling drivers, to no avail.
I am not sure if the problem is hardware, network or NT based.
Has anyone seen anything like this before?

A:Print settings

Most all Apps default to Letter size papper. This is a software thing. Now there are a few things, With HP, you should be able to edit it in the Printer settings (on each workstation) to use A4. But also where you are printing from will also need to use this format (when sending to the printer). Otherwise it will default back to Letter (becouse that is what kind of doc it gets from the app).

I could be wrong, but I think there is a Reg hack to make it stay. Seeing how I have never used any kind of papper other then Letter, I have no clue where to point you to find that hack.

Guess I wasnt much help after all,

I regularly have to print documents of twenty or more pages, and would like to print them in reverse order each time, so that page 1 finishes on top, etc.
I know I can click Print/Options/ and tick the approriate box, but wondered if I can make that a permanent (default) feature, as each time it reverts to the "un-reversed order". I am using Word 2003 and Windows 7.
Thanks for any advice.

How to set default printer in PDF and print PDF one page at a time

The code below will print a PDF file to a tiff converter driver "PEERNET.DRV ePro 5.0" but I am prompted for a filename (a TIFF file) to print to.
I can only do this after setting "PEERNET.DRV ePro 5.0" as the default printer through the printer panel.

What I want is to be able to set the default printer programmatically, print all pdf file pages to individual TIFF pages (with individual names of course).

Lastly, reset the printer back to the original default printer.
