Solved: Assassin's creed 2 game launcher crashes

Q: Solved: Assassin's creed 2 game launcher crashes

Every time I try to play assassin's creed 2 on my PC, it updates my game launcher. This is fine with me, but it downloads 3/4 of the file and then it crashes. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled the game and installed the latest patch. Still the same problem. Attached is a screenshot of the game launcher updating, when it gets to the red line it just crashes. Please help!

Preferred Solution: Solved: Assassin's creed 2 game launcher crashes

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I tryed playing AC2, it launches the Ubisoft Game Launcher for the DRM. It gets to logging me into the servers, then the PC hangs. Shortly after the PC restarts. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game and the Launcher. The patch V1.01 for AC2 and the Game Launcher update was automaticly. I got the same problem. I installed the game on another PC with no problems. I updated my video card and DirectX drivers with no effect. Please Help! Thanks.

My DxDiag report is the attached .txt file.

According to "http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/" my PC passes the minimum requirements with just the video card and CPU slightly outdated.

I have always played this game without any issues untill now and all other games work fine.

Any other questions, please ask.

I recently downloaded Assassin's Creed Black flag onto my HP desktop. I had it on pre-order and downloaded it immediately after it was released (I bought off amazon using Ubisoft, not steam). It worked completely fine up until about a week ago. I played it the day before leaving to visit family for the holiday and it worked fine, and was out there for about a week. The day after I returned I opened the game up, however it would not open. When I choose single player mode it pops up in the task bar *(attachment 1), but when I click on the icon a black screen shows for a couple seconds and then it returns to the screen I was just on. When I choose Multiplayer it just shows a message over a black background *(attachment 2) telling me something is wrong. I have also verified the game files *(attachment 3) and nothing appears to be wrong. Is there a way to fix this problem without having to uninstall and re-install the entire game, and would that even help?
I have tried many times to open just to see if it works because it worked the 5th time I tried, and it seems that for whatever reason about every 15-20 or so times I try to open it It opens properly once

A:Assassin's Creed 4: Game will not play

a friend of mine fixed his using these peoples suggestions

ok fixed it, using windows 8.1 btw. I deleted the mp ini file in the my documents folder, it created a new one and now it works perfectly. using latest drivers, which seem pretty stable. Try that option and see.
引用自 Pythious:
I've found a fix for my issue.

After installing the 331.82 nVidia drivers & disabling all monitors other than my primary, the multiplayer opens and runs perfectly. It's a little annoying, but thanks to DisplayFusion it's only a few clicks to get my screens back in position anyway.

I'm sure this is a temporary fix that will soon be patched and unnecessary.
Hopefully I've helped at least one person get their multiplayer running.

I have made a far progress in the game, with completing the assassination of three leaders of acre, damascus and jerusalem, today I started the game from where i ended yesterday and I was pretty shocked to see that I have to perform all those assassinations again... ... Is anyone playing this yet? Mine arrived on Saturday and I've been playing none stop for two days. I'm about 2/3 of way through and i must say some of it is awesome but overall not quite as good as i expected. At least is longer than COD4 single player (although COD4 multiplayer makes up for it). What do you guys think of it?

A:Assassin's Creed

I'm playing it since saturday... I must say, apart from Call of Duty 4, this is the best game I've ever played. The kingdoms are so detailed ale realistic! the whole game looks beautiful! The climbing engine is fantastic, non-linear at all. Fantastic game!

I just got assassin's creed 2. I can start the game and create a new save game. Right in the beginning of the game the main character gets into the animus and the game goes to a white screen and it doesn't go any further. I can pause and unpause the game but it can't do anything else. No picture, no sound, nothing. I just the got the patch and everything and it still doesn't work. Does anyone know of a fix for this It would be greatly appreciated.

Hey I'm new here so I think this post is in the right spot. I just got a new dell studio 15 and I am installing my old games on it. I installed Assassin's creed on it and when I finished I got a notice saying that my cpu isn't good enough to run it it needs to run 1.9Ghz and mine runs 1.73. It seems to me that being a quad core and being able to overclock to 2 GHz there shouldn't be a problem. Any ideas?

Assassin's Creed runs very smoothly for me on my computer. Very smoothly that is, until i go to either hide, save a citizen or kill someone

The second i press F to help the citizen, the screen will go flash that pretty design that its supposed to but will freeze for 2 - 3 seconds before i can actually play. Same with assassinations, i can sneak up on the guy just fine, but when i click to kill him, the game freezes for 2 - 3 seconds. When i go to hide in a roof garden, the game freezes for the same amount of time...

I have a pretty sweet system, and people with computers worse than mine arent having these issues with all settings on highest.

I have windows XP
I am running everything on high and everything is on except for Vsync. I tried putting everything lower but it didnt help the problem much
i have an EVGA 8800GTX and an EVGA 680i motherboard, i have a 3.00GHZ core2 duo.
i should be able to run circles around this game but instead i freeeze and lag when i do exactly what the title suggests: assassinate...

help me ouuut! please!

I put EVERY setting on low and turned EVERYTHING off and i still had this problem

A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint. Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress.

Generic "Stop 0x124" Troubleshooting Strategy:1) Ensure that none of the hardware components are overclocked. Hardware that is driven beyond its design specifications - by overclocking - can malfunction in unpredictable ways.

2) Ensure that the machine is adequately cooled. If there is any doubt, open up the side of the PC case (be mindful of any relevant warranty conditions!) and point a mains fan squarely at the motherboard. That will rule out most (lack of) cooling issues.

3) Update all hardware-related drivers: video, sound, RAID (if any), NIC... anything that interacts with a piec... Read more

I'm having the same problem as this guy, but I can't find any replies. I've looked around for info, but nothing's come up. I can still play the game, and it's almost as if it simply didn't save. I have the achievements for killing all three of the targets (I'm playing the Xbox 360 version, btw), though. It saved all of my progress in regards to view points and saving citizens, but the investigation missions were reset. I can keep playing, progressing, and assassinating the three targets, but if I turn off the Xbox I have to start from the cutscene where I was given the three targets to kill. I have yet to find time to try going through all three targets in one sitting, in the hopes that it'll save correctly when I finish that. I have noted, however, that it autosaves as it should, but there's still no loading option when I restart the xbox.

Any suggestions, other than trying to play through all three?

A fatal hardware error has occurred. This fatal error displays data from the Windows Hardware Error Architecture (WHEA).

If we run an !errrec on the 2nd parameter of the bugcheck (address of the WER structure) we get the following:

If so, it's unstable. Clear the CMOS to return everything to defaults.

Is it just me, or are any of you also having problems running AC?
Or are you running it on console?
I went and bought it couple of days ago and booted up my comp in vista.
Heck, the demoshield wouldn't even initialize properly.
Googled it, and it seems to be rather picky. Can't remember where, i think it was IGN who reported having trouble installing on vista with a pre-release version. Maybe a link?
Explored the DVD, and tried running the setup directly, but got a blank error box with an OK button. Then when trying to run demoshield again it told me I didnt have the rights to run it, even though I'm Admin, only account on Vista and have all the priviledges.
Anyway, rebooted into XP, and wayhey, Demoshield started fine and installed.
Playing fine, looks beautiful, but at a random time between 5 and 40mins the game will crash with red and yellow pixels filling the screen, and some odd polygonal shapes spawning in the distance. After about 30secs the computer stops responding and I'm forced to do a manual restart. (Pushing the button )
If i alt-tab fast enough i get a lovely little box telling me NV4_disp has ceased to function. Now, since I'm on an 8800GT, I'd guess thats the nVidia Display drivers?
Odd thing is, the beta drivers and certified ones don't work. And i can't check if its an XP exclusive problem, since it won't install on vista.
Done a complete clean sweep on display drivers too.

My new install of AC3 Windows 8 Pro keeps crashing every ten minutes or so. I think the problem is with some key combinations pressed in the game that bring up some shortcuts even when I'm in the game. I know this since pressing Alt+Tab a couple of minutes in shows the "Immersive background" and "Search settings" menus up on the desktop.

Anyone have any idea how to prevent these shortcuts from executing when in game? I'm not pressing any of the keys except W,A,S,D and the space bar and the two mouse buttons. Thanks!

I just got a second GTX 680 for my computer, and while I just got 2 BSODs within an hour playing Assassin's Creed 4. Well, the screen goes black and it makes a noise like a BSOD. So I don't know error numbers or anything. I DO overclock and on seldom occasion do get random BSODs, but usually isolated incidences. 2 within an hour seems odd. I don't think it's this card because I ran it on its own for a couple hours playing AC4 after benchmarking it with Unigine Valley. It held strong for that time. When I added my first card back to the equation and started using SLI is when it started happening. Attached is the SF diagnostic tool zip file

A:New SLI configuration. BSODs while playing Assassin's Creed 4

Hello there!

Firstly would you be able to tell me if your using the correct drivers?
If you are unsure, have you updated them. Drivers | GeForce

Second, do you have a Power supply that can cope with the two cards, are their dedicated PCI-E cables for two sets of GPU?
As much as I can tell, the cards need 200mw each (Standard power consumption). Plus the fact that you appear to be overclocking, and you might be exerting a larger power draw then the PSU can supply.

I will have a think about some other causes for you.

We really could do with a detailed spec for the PC, more than is in your profile. What is the exact make and model of the RAM (and how much), Power Supply etc.

It could be a heat related problem, a power problem or something else. Download and install HWMonitor then run the program. Screenshot the HWMonitor screen with your system doing nothing (just sat at the desktop), then keeping it in the background run a game for 5 minutes (hopefully without it shutting down) then screenshot HWMonitor again.

Upload both screenshots to a reply here.

Hello! I'm getting mad for this
I've treated so badly my pc since 2010, the year when it was assembled. It has been powered on for hours, even for a whole night, but ONLY after installing Assassin's Creed III it is doing continuous BSOD after 5 minutes playing. I mean, after some first quiet hours of game, it has suddenly become impossible to play and I really don't know why. The monitor turns itself off randomly and when I manually restart, a message says "Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown", Error: BlueScreen, BCCode: 116.

Here's my system info:

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit (SP 1)

I am trying to run Assassin's Creed 1 on my pc but I'm having some problems. I can run it but it only starts using my rubbish intergrated graphics card and it lags a bit. When I try to run it using my dedicated Nvidia card the Ubisoft symbol starts and then it stops responding. I've tried running it as an admin and in all compatibility modes. All my drivers are up to dat and I have tried running the Dx9 and Dx10 versions. My pc is an Asus K55VD-SX068 with an i7 processor, 8gb ram, Nvidia 610m 2gb dedicated graphics and Windows 7 SP1. If you need more info here is where Is its page at Dick Smith. It far exceeds the recommended specs. I've googled everywhere and can't find the answer. Any help will be greatly apprecitaed.

My computer has become awfully slow after playing Assassin's Creed 2, I was playing then my audio went fuzzy and the fps went down to like 2-3 fps. It has been slow ever since, all my graphics card options reset so I fixed them then tried a registry cleaner.. It worked to some extent but my games are still laggy. I need some suggestions, and my hard drive is clean and I have 4gb of RAM plus an i5, my GPU is a Nvidia GT 540m.

A:Computer suddenly slow after playing Assassin's Creed 2

Try running task manager (and resource monitor) to see if anything is suddenly hogging CPU. Another free tool is Process Monitor. It gives a deeper look at what's happening with your machine. You could also try scanning with Malwarebytes Free. It picks up things that other traditional antivirus suites miss. Update the signatures and run a full scan. If these don't help you could try a System Restore to a date/time prior to when the issue first began. If no restore points are availabe you could also make sure your temp files aren't overflowing and you clean out your browser cache.

i've been trying for the last 2 hours, unsuccessfully, to access assassin's creed: unite, the promotional page for Assassin's Creed 3. however, every time I try to access it, it ends up looking like this:

My OS is Windows 7 home premium SP 1, My browser is Firefox 12.0, with noscript 2.4 and adblock plus 2.0.3. the website is whitelisted on both addons.

here's what I've tried in chronological order:

1) opened the page with Google Chrome. didn't help.
2) uninstalled and reinstalled Flash. didn't help.
3) completely disabled noscript and adblock. didn't help.
4) ran Firefox in Safe mode. didn't help.
5) ran the .NET framework installer again for repairing. didn't help.
6) opened the page with Internet Explorer 9. didn't help.

I've gotten a link from someone, but to be fair, i'm more interested in getting this page to work, because it not working could indicate i have more serious issues that I don't know about.

I haven't yet tried to delete cookies or cache. Cookies because i got some websites that I want to stay logged in and cookies would remove me, and cache because, frankly, i don't know how.

btw, i've made another thread about this on mmo-champion.com ( certain page that works for others just is blank for me), where i've tried what they recommended, but i feel like it's time to call in the big guns (i.e. you guys).

edit: I believe i found the issue. someone in the other thread said that it might have been due to my Norton Safe web no... Read more

Hey there guys,

So I've got a lend of a friend's copy of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, testing it out before I buy it on Steam. The installation seemed to go absolutely fine, but for some reason, the game is very jumpy, and there is a sound/video lag as well. This is strange, as my computer's specs should be good enough to run the game on it's highest settings; yet, even on its lowest, it has the exact same issues with its lag. I can't work out why this is, as I can play games as simple as Black & White 2, and as good as Skyrim on their max settings without any issues whatsoever.

What might be causing this problem, as it's simply making the game rather unbearable. I have also done a stress test on my CPU, RAM and GPU; my graphics card made a strange little sound when it was being 3D tested, but otherwise, it went absolutely fine and I got great results.

Hi all,

I experience for quite a while BSODs (10 so far) when playing Assassin's Creed Revelations or a browser game. I can sometimes play it for hours but often it just crashes after 5 minutes, giving me errors like

(just two examples out of 10 crash dumps)

A:10 times BSOD while playing Assassin's Creed or browser games

Most of them are showing system files, with one pointing towards your video drivers.

Start by updating to the latest driver version

AMD Graphics Drivers & Software

Step 1 > Notebook
Step 2 > Auto detect and install.

You're looking for support for the 6480G.

Do you recall updating any drivers/Windows update around the time this issue started?

Atm, I'd be leaning towards a software issue rather than hardware (ie faulty memory)

I have an ongoing issue where I log onto the glyph launcher, log onto my server, play for a while, sometimes hours with no issue but then BOOM, the game just closes on me and I'm booted back to the launcher. I have to push the PLAY button again, log into the server again, but it seems once the game boots me out then the crashing becomes more frequent.

I at first reported it to Trion support (useless) all they do is copy and paste previous responses from previous games sometimes not even removing the other game titles from it, but all in all I have spent over a month with them and I have:

1. Expanded my paging file to initial size of 1X RAM size max size 2X RAM size (to handle the memory of the game)
2. Switched from DirectX11 down to DirectX9 and back again. (in game)
3. Lowered my FPS (frames per second) to 100 (in game)
4. Switched off Multithread rendering and VSync (in game)
5. They have also had me change the priority of the game archeage.exe to high to see if that helps and it doesn't
( I would start the launcher, log onto the game and the server, go into the character screen, then cntrl + alt + delete into task manager and right click the process and set the priority to high then go back into the game)

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I am getting BSOD playing AC3. Fresh install of Windows. The machine is overclocked, but the crashes only started yesterday, and it had been working fine for a few days without crashes. From what I have seen code d1 refers to a driver error, so I was hoping to get some help establishing what the root of the problem is.

Diagnostic files are attached. I tried to attache the MEMORY.DMP file, but is is 81MB in size and wont upload.

I have also been experiencing random crashes/freezes when playing the game, details below;

Background: Hey guys! I play a free to play game called eurogunz, website is euro-gunz.eu . I have always been able to play this game just fine on my Dell Optiplex with Windows XP. No problems at all since the summer of last year. All you have to do to start the game is start the launcher, then hit start game. Well, recently I have been pressing the start game button and nothing comes up. The launcher will just disappear and my computer screen will just stay normal as if no command was given to it.

What I have tried: Uninstalling recently downloaded programs especially free anti-viruses which could be the cause of this. I have also made an exception in firewall for this game. When I went to my "C" drive and tried putting everything related to avast antivirus, it won't allow me to saying something like I don't have a sufficient disk or something. My friends have told me to uninstall eurogunz and redownload it which I have done numerous times and still does not work. To be honest though, when I go to control panel -> remove programs, eurogunz and avast anti virus isn't there. Is this supposed to be happening?

How you can help: post here to help me !

Date problem started occurring: 2/4/12

A:My game launcher will not start

ok, im no pro, so this may be a shot in the dark and false hope.

you said that it used to run fine on XP, so what operating system are you using now, vista, windows 7? if so that may be your problem. from what i have seen eurogunz looks as though its a european port of a Japanese game (please do correct me if im wrong), meaning that updating it to windows 7 may be a bit tricky.

also if you are using windows vista or 7 it may be having problems with UAC (user account controls). thats the box that pops up asking for permisions to run a program, but sometimes it just wont pop up, and it wont run the program. if this is the case, type UAC into your start bar search bar, and change it to a lower setting. if that dosent work change it to its lowwest, if that dosent work, put it back to where it was before.

Well one thing is that you can take a screenshot by doing the PrintScreen button for the whole screen or ALT+PrintScreen if you want to get the selected window. Just paste it in MSPaint (or your favorite image program)

As to the issue, has it ever worked? Have you tried Windows compatibility mode?

Please go to Start and type in "msinfo32.exe" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
Save the report as an .nfo file, then zip up the .nfo file and upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.
Also, save a copy as a .txt file and include it also (it's much more difficult to read, but we have greater success in getting the info from it).
