I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

linustocn Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!I read your post about WiFi frequently disconnecting and wanted to help.Anytime someone comes here running Win10 and complains about something suddenly not working, I immediately suspect Windows Driver updates.Unfortunately, Win10 automatically forces driver updates on all of us, without our knowledge, and without our permission -- and when this happens, a working PC is suddenly "broken". This might have happened to you.You need to go into Settings, Update & Security --> Windows Update. Then, choose Advanced Options --> History to see when updates were last applied. If you see any that include device drivers, those could be the problem. So, if you can, you should see if you can rollback the drivers that are causing the problem. You do this by going into Device Manager, seeing if the appropriate device is still listed, and if so, trying to rollback the last driver update. And if that fixes the problem, then consider disabling future driver updates using the information in the link: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/48277-driver-updates-windows-update-enable-disable-windows-10-a.h... sounds like a low signal from the ISP...I would call your ISP and see if they could test your signal strength coming into your home. (some ISP's might charge a small fee, you will have to ask)

This problem is frustrating me a lot now. After upgrading to WIndows 10, I have noticed that my Wi-Fi connection frequently drops without any pattern whatsover. It just drops randomly and re-connects after 2-3 minutes. If I attempt to connect to the network in that period of 2-3 minutes, it will sometimes connect, and sometimes fail. I have 2 other laptops (1 of which has Windows 10) and they don't experience this problem.

I have searched online and tried tons of things. Nothing has fixed the problem so far! Below are all the things I tried. Please help if you have any suggestions or if there are known issues with Windows 10.

1. Updated the driver software
2. Uninstalled the driver and re-installed it
3. Unchecked the setting of 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' in Power Management of the wireless network adapter.
4. Uninstalled anti-virus to eliminate anti-virus as the issue.
5. Disabled 'Wifi Sense' options of 'Connect to suggested hotspots' & 'Connect to networks shared by my contacts'.

I am clueless as to what the issue is. Please help!

I purchased a new notebook with Windows 7 in October. During the first weeks I uninstalled McAfee and replaced the harddrive. Since November Windows Update fails with error messages and defender does not start anymore. I made several virus scans (complete) with multiple antivirus programs but nothing showed up.Since it took my days to install various software, I do not want to re-install W7. I also have no good backup that I could restore. I am really surprised that there is not even a single entry regarding the error code in the Microsoft Knowledge base or elsewhere.I really would appreciate help.

If You are using notebooks with with hard drive larger than 700 GB you probably should update Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver.

I had been having bsod issues for awhile last year and had gotten help on here and the problem had gone away. Before this recent string of bsods I had only had one in April and none for several months before that. I had a Windows update on the 3rd and didn't notice anything different, but beginning yesterday I began having a slew of bsods. They happened both in high graphic games, browsing the internet, and even just when sitting there. This last one happened when windows was just starting up, I think. I used DriverMax to update all of my drivers, and I even tried doing a restore point from before the update on the 3rd and that seemed to lower the frequency, but then I started getting them again. Any help is much appreciated. I'm attaching the mini dump and the requested zip file.

A:BSOD frequently occurring after Windows update, WIN7_DRIVER_FAULT

If you think that your earlier issue was solved, mark BSOD's keep happening during D3 and other games as solved and continue here.

Uninstall Virtual Clone Drive.

Such a thing may cause this type of BSOD.

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.
Click on the Start button
Type ?msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
Select the ?Startup? tab.
Deselect all items other than the antivirus and the touchpad driver, SynTPEnh
Apply > OK
Accept then restart.
Your crash dumps are not showing any finite probable cause.

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

If memtest comes to be free from errors, enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

So I'm in a bind at the moment. On Sunday, after attempting to run Dragon Age : Inquisition, I had realized that I never updated my GPU drivers since 2012 (Catalyst 10.12).
First attempt at installation led to a crash and black screen. Subsequent attempts to uninstall via Catalyst Installation Manager (via Control Panel/Programs) were unsuccessful (got several "Error applying transforms" msg boxes).

I then downloaded Display Driver Utility to the driver and after unsuccessfully installing 15.7 which resulted in my computer freezing on the login screen (or alternatively, black screen with cursor), removing the Intel HD4000, removing 15.7 and installing 14.12, uninstalling 14.12 with the occasional bouts not being able to boot past login in Safe Mode. I realized I had 4 Windows updates I never installed.
They are (KB3064209), (KB2901983), (KB3048761), and a Intel Graphics update. After installation of the above updates, I was able to log in.

This evening however, I suffered two freezes and a failed safe mode boot before being able to get past the login screen again. I'm honestly pretty sure the reason for these freezes are my drivers, but I'm boggled on how to fix this w/o reverting to by 10.12 drivers.

Attached is the DxDiag.

I recently updated my Inspiron 14" 5459 to the Windows 10 anniversary update, i noticed that when my wifi access point changes or wifi signal drops or turning off wifi, my laptop semi-freezes, you could still scroll with the mouse or track pad and select open tabs but that's all, clicking other icons and even the windows start menu does not work, if you wait for more than 5 minutes, everything goes back to normal. Waiting around for about 5 minutes is annoying so what I do is press ctrl alt delete and from there restart the laptop. my wifi adapter is updated to the most recent version and also both graphics card (intel hd 520 and amd radeon m335) is also updated to the latest version.  Any suggestion on how to resolve this issue?

A:after Windows 10 anniversary update, Inspiron 5459 freezes if wifi is turned off or wifi access point is changed, is there a solution to this problem?

Please confirm the wireless card from the device manger or the network control panel. Also please update the BIOS firmware to the latest version. The BIOS update should ideally be version v1.2.2. Also please try system out with  a LAN cable as well to confirm if is indeed caused by the wireless. Though this may not run a complete diagnostics on the network you can run a hardware diagnostics on the computer using the following steps

Shutdown the computer
Hold the 'Fn' key and turn on the computer
Let go of the 'Fn' key after 2 seconds

This is will initiate the H/w diagnostics. Please let us know if it completes or if  you run into any errors. If  you do run into any errors.

i wasn't sure where to put this question cause it could be related to almost everything since i don't know what exactly the problem is,

here's what happens, sometimes and it randomly happens cause yet i failed to find out any action related to this, when m playing a game or typing in skype.. cause those what m mostly doing, the keyboard kind of stops typing and i hear those dings, when that happened if i press the spacebar my wifi connection disconnects, and all i have to do is to reconnect to it and continue what i am doing, if i don press the space bar after hearing those dings it won't disconnect me till i press it. so basicly when this happens i can't use the spacebar for a good long time if i don wanna lose the connection.

any idea what would that be related to? and how to fix it?

Is this a Laptop or a desktop? What is the make and model?
What Dings are you talking about? Is it the sound when you plug in a USB device or Disconnect it?
If you are using a USB keyboard on a desktop computer, plug the keyboard into the Back USB port and not the front or through a hub as these ports are weaker.

A:Wifi getting disconnect regularly

Hi djrazr

l am aso a TWC customer. Have an Arris modem and TWC supplied Belkin F5D7234-4-BC -v1 router.

Your problem could be RF interferrence from other wireless networks. Changing the wireless channel on the router could make all the difference. Ideally, you want your wireless at least 3 channels away from any others. Run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector to check the networks close to you.

Run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector
Download and install
If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to copy the program across to the faulty PC

Direct link to the program is here http://wpc.475a.edgecastcdn.net/0047...etup.1.2.0.exe

{If the above link does not work heres another link http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_download/fid,77196-order,4/download.html}

Then run and install the program - on a wireless enabled PC/Laptop
if you get an error - You need NET Framework installed for the WiFi Inspector to function.

Run the program

A user guide is available here http://www.xirrus.com/Products/Wi-Fi...uide1-2-0.aspx

post a screen shot of the program running - if there are a lot of networks showing can you click on "networks" top lefthand area - so we can see all the network information, and also post which network "Adapter Name" (1st column) is yours on the list

To post a screen shot of the active window, hold the Alt key and press the PrtScn key. Open the Windows PAINT application and Paste the scr... Read more

Dear Forum, I have not used the forum before and I am not very technically minded I have seen several posts and replies from members who have been dealing with a similar problem to me and I believe I have tried the solutions posted but nothing has worked so far. I have a Compaq Presario CQ57-480SA Notebook PC - Model #: B1V34EA I think it was bought in 2012. It was running Win 7 and worked properly but I upgraded to Win10 in July and since then (and despite a complete re-install) there is no wireless functionality at all (no wireless icon, etc). The physical wireless switch will not do anything except turn 'Airplane mode' on and off. I have surfed various websites and the HP site and think that it maybe the wireless adapter but I am not sure. Forgive the very newb style of post, I'm quite the Luddite. I'm running Windows8 on a Samsung Chronos Series 780Z. For the last couple of days, with increasing frequency, I will have to disconnect and reconnect to the WiFi in order to do anything. Windows processes have all slowed down considerably too, though a Task Manager check doesn't suggest anything untoward. For example, it is taking at least two seconds formmy hitting the keys for letters to appear in this post.

Any help/advice anyone can offer is much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Hi, Since a fews days (weeks), my wifi is very weird on my IdeaPad Z510 + W10. It was OK before, and now not anymore. Wifi is ok on any other device, but on Z510, it is either very low (1 on 5) or down. I changed drivers, from W10 ones to the ones on Lenovo site, with no luck. From times to times, it jumps to 5 bars, then drops immediatly.  I also unchecked the power management check box.  Any advice ?  Regards,Yann

Spoiler (Highlight to read)  I just barely got this laptop, new, and set it up a few days ago. I connected to the Wifi and thought there was no problem, but when I opened the browser and typed in a URL, it disconnected. It then reconnected a few seconds later, so I tried another URL, and it disconnected again. This happens every time I try to do anything that requires wifi, including trying to send an error report. The farthest I've gotten is opening Youtube, but I clicked on one video and lo and behold, the wifi disconnected. TL,DR; Wifi disconnects and reconnects every few seconds. Solutions I've tried:- Turning computer off/back on- Turning airplane mode off/on- Disconnecting and reconnecting to wifi network- Disabling and re-enabling network device in Network Connections (Change adapter options in network settings)- Tons of other stuff I can't remember

This feedback is regarding my disappointment about the hp laptop i bought 2 days back. I bought the model Hp pavilion 15- Af006ax. The laptop is frequently disconnecting from my wifi. The wifi starts going out and reconnecting until you can't connect anymore. I can still detect the signal. But I get the unable to connect popup on windows 7.

My husband's computer is fried and because the WIFI is connected to it, I can't access my Tablet now. I have heard that the WIFI will work without the computer but when his computer is disconnected, it still won't work on my Tablet. He had the phone, the computer and the WIFI router all working together. Is there a special way to use the WIFI router without the computer? If so, I would like to know how.

I've been using my Acer Aspire V3-772G-7872 for around a year. In the first two or three months there is no problem with the laptop. However, in the 4th month (still windows 8) there was an issue with the wifi connection. The connection was so unstable (disconnect randomly for every 5 minutes and reconnect back in 3 or 4 seconds). I tried to restart my router and nothing changed. All my other devices work perfectly fine. So I tried to google it and found that I've to update my wifi driver. I downloaded and reinstalled the Wifi driver (Wireless LAN_Atheros_10.0.0.288_W81x64_A). After I reinstall the driver, the wifi works really well, but I have to reinstall it every week because the issue always come back every week. Now I'm using windows 10 and the issue still happening. I tried to reinstall it but it doesn't work. Any solution? Hope someone can help me
