Volume increase or decrease

Q: Volume increase or decrease

How do you increase or decrease a volume in Windows 8?

Preferred Solution: Volume increase or decrease

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Volume increase or decrease

I go to the Desktop and click on the speaker icon bottom right.

Alright, so this is about a sound problem, but my tests make me think it's something to do with Windows 7. Here's the issue :

I have a SteelSeries Merc Stealth keyboard with buttons for increasing and decreasing volume. The decreasing volume works, but the increasing does not. So, if I want to increase the volume (in a game, for instance), I would have to alt-tab. I thought this was because my keyboard was somehow broken and that particular button didn't work anymore.

However, I just received a brand new pair of Corsair HS1 headphone. On the cable of the headphones are buttons to increase and decrease the volume of Windows. So, as you may guess, the decreasing button works, but not the increasing one.

Since the probably of having two defective items, one being new for the exact same problem being so slim, my guess is that something in Windows 7 is off. So, can anyone help?

Here's my specs :
Gigabyte X58A-UD3R
Intel i7 Quad Core @2.67GHz
Corsair TX750 750W PSU
Corsair Vengeance 3x4BG CL9-9-9
Gigabyte Radeon HD 6870
Corsair Vengeance 12GB 3x4GB DDR3-1600 CL9-9-9-24 Triple Channel
Windows 7 64-bits w/ Service pack 1

A:Can decrease volume, but can't increase

Just to specify as a proof the buttons work, when I use a program that enable Global keys like Winamp, the volume of that program will increase or decrease. It's the Windows volume that doesn't increase.

I use W7's volume control for the studio monitors I use. It's not practical to use the knob on the monitors since it is located in the back.

Can you please tell me how to increase and decrease a preset internal hard drive with programs already installed in the set C: drive location and move it so I can install new programs in without affecting the opening of the program?

What I am trying to say is , Example When I installed window 7 long time ago on my computer. I have only one internal a 120GB HD on the C: drive. That was example set partition 80 for C; and created D: drive 40 GB from the original one drive. I installed programs in before that is now filled up almost all of drive C: 80GB partitioned. If I move (some) of the preinstalled program to D: drive will the moved programs stop working? Some program demand to be installed to only C: or it will not install at all.

As the title states. I'm planning on trading my dad laptops. I do audio production and gaming. I have an i3 and the cpu is clocked at 2.4 ghz and he has an i5 clocked at 1.8. How much of a difference will this impact performance? For better or worse?

Im curious because I had a desktop a while back and it had a Core 2 Duo @ 2.8 and I went to this i3 @2.4 laptop and the cpu sucks in comparison to the desktop...I was originally thinking the i3 would be a increase since it was newer architecture.

I would still think on the graphics side its definitely an upgrade because the i3 uses Intel HD Graphics and it sucks...it doesnt even use opengl. The other uses a Nvidia GeForce GT 740M.

A:(2.4 Ghz i3) to (1.8 Ghz i5) Increase or decrease in perf?

The difference between the desktop and laptop is multifaceted. Desktop probably had faster hard drive, dedicated video, and optimized for performance versus laptop optimized for battery life.

And the core i3/5/7 each do graphics onboard. The slower the cpu, the more impact the graphics will have on overall performance. Core i3 are budget machines, for basic tasks. They are not really suitable for gaming or video and music production. The core i5 will suit better in these areas.

My issue is that when I am upstairs windows 7 says there is 5/5 bars as connection (same as downstairs)
But when I am upstairs I am lucky to reach 2mb/s
Downstairs I get 10mb/s(normal for me)

Could this be a driver issue?

A:A big decrease increase internet speed,

Could be a driver issue, a signal noise issue (even if you are getting 5 bars) or could be your upstairs PC is using the G band when the downstairs is using N band.

I just got a Lenovo Z460 running on windows7.
By default, the harddisk is split into c:\ and d:\

I want to decrease the disk space of c drive and then use this additional space to increase the disk space of d drive (the logical drive)

To decrease the disk space in c drive, I go to computer management/storage/disk management and then at the c drive, I right click the mouse and then choose "shrink volumn". I successfully shrinked c drive and now I got an unallocated space but how do I allocate this new space to d drive. The "extend volume" in d drive is greyed.

A:Solved: how to decrease and increase disk space

The windows partitioning tool is somewhat limited in that it will only extend a partition to the right, so you're going to need an additional tool.

I personally use a Live Linux CD with an included partitioning program, usually GPartEd. If you're not familiar or comfortable with Linux then someone else will have to recommend another tool.

Keep in mind, whatever tool you use will take quite awhile to extend that partition because it not only extends the partition but also moves all the data to the beginning of the newly extended partition. It looks like you've got about 10-11 Gigs of data on there so it can take possibly half an hour or more.

A somewhat convoluted solution possible with the windows partition tool would be:

1) Create a new partition with the unallocated space. Let's call it F drive.

2) Copy/paste all the data from the D drive into the new F drive.

3) Delete the D drive.

4) Extend the F drive to include the now unallocated space on the right of the new F drive.

5) Rename F drive to whatever you want.

Good day!  I am an IT Systems Support Engineer and give support mostly to business clients, but also to some residential clients.  Due to the recent growth of Windows 10 upgrades, I'm curious if anyone has noticed an increase or decrease with questions about Windows 10.  I throw in decreasing, since I've been asked quite a bit about Win 10.
I am new to posting on this site, but I've used this site before, when I came across something that I hadn't seen before.  I really enjoy this site and when it helped me with an issue, I always put this site as a resource.
Thanks for reading and I am eager to know anybody's thoughts about the topic title.

A:Will Windows 10 increase or decrease support questions?

I haven't installed Win 10 yet...but I have seen the introduction of every Windows system since Win 95 and it occurs to me that what is currently reflected is the same amount (or even more) of puzzlement, rhetoric, and uncertainty...that comes with every version of Windows...until the first SP is issued.  Once that occurs, users seem to settle down and have become more familiar with what are imagined problematical situaitons, as opposed to real problems where they need/want assistance with specific types of system situations.

However, when I decreased the recycle bin size, there was no apparent change when I left double-clicked on My Computer and it showed the amount of free space on my c: drive. Here's my question: how can I decrease the recycle bin and have this extra space show up on my c: drive as available storage space?

I have an HP Pavillion also, (a dv5t) and don't have this problem, however, here are the touchpad customizations. Try re-setting them, and maybe that will help. (I've put in how I set mine. Hi, Try the following. Download the Realtek HD Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder. http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp75501-76000/sp75983.exe When done, hold down the Windows key and press R Into the Run window, type devmgmt.msc and hit enter. In Device Manager, expand Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the Realtek device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall. When complete, restart the notebook. When windows has reloaded, open your Downloads folder, right click on the Realtek installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, restart the notebook again and let windows fully load for a few minutes before checking. Regards, DP-K

Hey guys,I have a problem with the volume from my speakers. At a completely random time today, my speaker volume drastically decreased. Usually, when I turn the dial to my speakers up to 100%, the sound is extremely loud. Now, at 100%, the audio is significantly lower. When I plug in a headset into the front Audio port of my computer tower, the sound at 100% is lower than what it used to be as well. The speaker model is Emachines, SP-30A. The volume settings on my computer have not changed. I use Windows Vista, and I have verified that the volume levels are at 100%. The power source has not changed. Nor has the wiring changed either (I made sure that the wires running to the back of my computer are correct). Here is what I've done:Ran Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware: Turned up clean.Ran AVG Free 2011: Turned up clean.Ran SpyBot Search And Destroy: Turned up clean.I have attempted to update my sound card driver, however it said it was already up to date. These facts led me to believe that it is not a virus; however I cannot be sure.If anyone could provide some help it would be greatly appreciated. I can't do anything involving audio with this crappy sound.

A:Beyond Fustrated! - Emachine speakers volume decrease!

The only thing that comes to mind straight off is that, depending on what audio setup the system is equipped with, there may be an option like "boost" buried somewhere maybe on an advanced tab in the audio properties, that may have got turned off somehow.

Hi all!
C drive on my computer is almost full, I keep receiving notifications regarding no or less space in C drive. I have Partitioned my hard disk into 3 parts.

E is close to 150 GB

I would like to increase my C drive space from 25 GB to 100 GB cutting E drive down . I am unable to do so through disk management. The option Extend Volume is grayed out. Please suggest an alternate way to increase the volume of my C drive. The OS I have is Windows 7 ultimate!!
Thank you in advance.

A:How to increase volume on C drive

0. Make sure you have everything you can't afford to lose backed up.
1. Get Easeus Partition Master (the free one for home use)
2. Shrink E
3. Expand D
4. Shrink D
5. Expand C

Partition Master may let you just shrink E and expand C, but if you have a traditional partition layout the steps I listed will have to occur (even if PM hides the middle ones).

Personally, I would do 1 step at a time and reboot between each. This way if something goes wrong your chances of recovering are much greater.

Hello, i have a few questions.

FIrstly , Is there any way i can boost the max volume ? like when i put the volume all the way up can i make it go further ? to better explain i shall use an example ,

I have a WM 6.5.x cell phone . in the Windows directory there is a volume file (simple excel file) that controls the volume , you can boost the volume until your heart is content or until you blow the speakers .

For simplicity , i wish to change the different volume levels on my laptop , almost double everything , so when im at full volume now , i want it to be at 3/4 volume after the "hack"

Secondly, i have an HP DV7- 6163us with beats audio (love it)

THere are a total of 4 speakers , two under the monitor , and two on the very front of the device , im wondering if some way i can increase JUST the front speakers .. however im guessing they just wired those two front speakers into the two speakers under the monitor . i would love to increase just the front two . that would be awesome .

Thanks guys !
