YouCam Not working

Q: YouCam Not working

YouCam stopped working, I have downloaded the links provided by Lenovo support and they/it are already installed. But my webcam is still not working.

Preferred Solution: YouCam Not working

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi Kbee,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with Youcam not working.

Try enable the webcam in the BIOS and check.

Also check in device manager, under imaging device if the web cam is detected.

Also try to test the webcam by logging into testmycam.com and check for the issue.

Hope this helps. Do post back if issue persists!

Best regards,

I'm having some issues with my webcam for a while now each time I'm on Skype talking to friends. I can see them and the light of the camera is running, they can hear me but they can't see me and I see on top of the screen the message "your webcam is used by another application. I checked "Device Manager" and properties on my webcam and saw the message "Device USB\VID_0C45&PID_651B&MI_00\6&803188a&0&0000 requires further installation". I also found under "Other devices - Unknown device" and in properties "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28). There are no compatible drivers for this device. To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver." I have no clue what is going on...

I hope somebody can help me with this problem. Thanks in advance.

A:Youcam problems

check HP website for your laptop.
look for the support page.
click drivers and update software
it might not automatically detect which HP laptop model you have
so if it doesn't work--click manually choose and answer the pop up questions.
after you confirm your model number and operating system it should find a page listing all the Bios, driver, utilities, and HP software updates that HP put out for your laptop
see if a webcam update is listed. download and install.
or a graphics update is listed.
you said factory settings so hopefully the update versions are newer than whats on
your laptop now. if HP latest update version is older than whats on your laptop than don't download.
also check your chipset driver version on your laptop vs latest version on the support page.
updating the chipset driver to a newer version should help your graphics run better

Hello. My name is Cherise Roget and I own a HP G60-630US Notebook laptop. I bought this laptop about two months ago if I remember correctly. The only problem there is so far is that my webcam is not working at all. I am not sure why that is since it was working very well for a period of time when i first bought it. It worked for about two weeks and then stopped. Every time I try to open the program to see if it works.. It says, "Warning! No webcam detected. Try plugging in a webcam into your computer now. If you are using an integrated camera, make sure that it is turned on." Then a message pops up to update the Cyberlink program, which by the way never works.. What can i do to resolve this problem? Your advice would be appreciated.

I'm told by the IS department at work that I pick their brains over old school stuff with a new twist. I don't think that this problem is all that exciting but it's just as annoying.

I accidentally (On purpose) deleted Cyberlink Youcam because I was trying to to the patch for it. In order to run the patch, I had to delete the program and reinstall. So I deleted and went to the site for the "free" trial and did well until I clicked to set up and I got the error "error applying transforms. Verify that the specific tranforms paths are valid.

I after sever attempts to open and then close. I deleted it off again thinking there was somethin wronmg with the program. I went back to the site ans decided that I might as well stop being cheap and just download the program and pay for it. It's saying the same thing..... So what can I do?

No longer detecting the Webcam, I have searched through this forum, and found the earlier messages.
I too could not see the "imaging devices" in the Device Manager. Looking around, I found that one could show the "hidden devices" - and there was my Webcam... but looking at its properties, it said: "NOT CONNECTED".
How could that be, since it is built in the computer!!! I have not not dismounted the computer at all, so how could such an error happen? There is something wrong somewhere...
Work around: I wanted to use the Webcam for Skype - I worked around this problem by installing Skype on my phone (android), and there it worked without any problem at all. Yet that does not solve the computer problem.
I restarted the computer. Now I find the device (HP Webcam-50) installed. But yet the program that come with HP, viz. "CyberLink YouCam" still cannot connect with it. I get this error message:
"CyberLink YouCam cannot connect to your webcam (HP Webcam-50). Try selecting another capture device within settings, or close any application."
After closing the message, I open the tools, the "Capture" device (first box) is empty; I open the combo box (as it is a combo box), and do find the "HP Webcam-50"; I select it and it does take it - BUT when I press OK, I get this very same message, as above. So nothing has improved.

I don't really have a tech problem, I just want to sound off.  I don't trust that Mirage Youcam exe. file which is always running, as I noticed on my task manager.  I did a little research and am convinced that it might in effect be a virus.  I found this at the Cyberlink Community Forum, in response to the question, "What is it, and what exactly does it do?" [The Mirage Youcam exe.]  And here was the response By Cyberlink Customer Service:
YCMMirage.exe is a background process which will monitor if any AP is using our virtual driver.
Once it is detected, YCMMirage will launch YouCam, and then YouCam will provide and share the webcam video to client APs.
If you still need more info, feel free to contact with us.
Best Regards,
CyberLink Customer Service
I should add, I have no way of knowing if this response really was by customer service, but every indication says it is.
Now, as an average lay person reading that response, I can't help but wonder just what that means.  You decide for yourself.  But for me, there's just no darn good reason for that cam to be doing anything unless I want it to.  There's just no argument as far as I'm concerned.  I conjecture that what it might be doing is detecting movement, and then in response to that signal, sends a little "come and see" message to some unnamed peeping tom that happens to be on their "virtual driver."  I don't kno... I've been trying to fix this issue for a while now. These programs ran fine when I first got the computer. Basically, when I start YouCam, it cannot start. If I keep trying, eventually it will successfully start, usually taking around 10 tries. Once YouCam is up there are no more problems until I close it and try to open it again. I have the same issue with skype. If I try to join a skype call, it will be unsuccessful and crash. If I keep trying it will eventually work. If I open YouCam and get it working, I will no longer have issues with skype calls either until I close YouCam and end the skype call. I've tried some things already including:-Opening the camera from it's file location-Reinstalling camera drivers-Running and SFC scan (It said there were problems but was unable to fix them)-Performing a disk check

why is my cyberlink youcam gone blury and fuzzy all of a sudden? skype is also like this.how can i fix this issue?

View Solution.

A:cyberlink youcam is blury and fuzzy

Hello rashel96. I understand the webcam appears to be fuzzy all of a sudden. This can occur when calibration is off, or when the webcam hardware has become faulty. Since it is blurry on multiple programs, this indicates the webcam is the source of error. To assist you better, I do require the following information:

1. Computer model number. If you require assistance locating this information, you can reference the following website: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bph07555

2. Operating system. If you require assistance locating this information, you can reference the following website: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows/which-operating-system

3. Have you tried a second webcam to evaluate if it is one webcam, or several having the issue?

In the meantime, I would like you to follow the troubleshooting in this HP document about resolved webcam issue, below. Please pick the appropriate document based on your current operating system:

Windows Vista: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01235743

Windows 7: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02452221

Windows 8: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03430151

Please respond to this post after you have completed troubleshooting using the above document. If the issue persists, please provide the results of troubleshooting, and the information I inquired about earlier in this post.

I look forward to your response.
