Mozilla Firefox 52.1.2 ESR Released For XP & Vista

Q: Mozilla Firefox 52.1.2 ESR Released For XP & Vista

Version 52.1.2 extended support release(ESR) of Mozilla Firefox has been released and can be obtained here:
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/

Version 53 and newer only supports Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 and will not install in Windows XP SP3 and Windows Vista SP2.

If you want to continue to receive updates and support for version 52 in them, you need to install and use the ESR version.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Be aware this version does NOT support Windows XP and Windows Vista.
You will need to stick with version 52.

Mozilla has released Firefox 12.0 which can be downloaded from here: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html (Choose your language and OS).Here are details of security vulnerabilities fixed in this versionHowever, according to Extremetech.com, the anticipated "New Tab page" and "Home Tab" didn't make it in this release. But it does include a new updater which will only cause a UAC popup once after which users who have User Account Control enabled in Vista or Windows 7 won't see it again.EDIT: The "New Tab" page is present, but disabled. To enable it, do the following:In the location bar where you normally type in a web address (URL), type about:config and hit Enter. If you see a warning message, click "Yes, I promise I'll be careful" to proceed further, otherwise continue as follows. In the filter at the top, copy/paste the following: browser.newtabpage.enabled Double click the value to change it from "false" to "true" (it will change to bold type if you did it correctly). Close about:config and then open a new tab (CTRL+T, or click the tab "+" sign). In the location bar, type: about:newtab and hit Enter. Firefox should now display the most recently visited tabs. Also, more on the auto-updater in this new version: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/what-mozilla-maintenance-service It can be disabled via Options | Advanced | Update (tab).EDIT #2 The "New Tab" feature doesn't l... If you are currently using Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.4, the install of Mozilla Firefox 2.0 Beta 1 will not interfere with nor overwrite 1.5.0.4.

2.0 Beta 1 will install in a separate folder in C:\Program Files and will allow you to run it independent of 1.5.0.4.

This appears to be an ideal way of checking out 2.0 Beta 1 without losing 1.5.0.4.

Just so you know I am not computer savvy. My first computer, you will need to explain to me like I was a 2nd grader.

2nd problem when I tried to log into my local unemployment office, which I have done on occasion, when I have been on furlough, I have had no problem on this site. Now, it says your browser is not currently supported for this site. I have done some research on the web to try and solve this problem and either I do not understand what they are telling me or I can't solve the problem with their instructions.

Hi - How do I transfer Firefox over to Vista and keep my bookmarks? Thanks - TM

A:Mozilla Firefox bookmarks transfer to Vista?

Easiest way (There may be better) is to go to the Program Files - Mozilla Firefox - defaults - Profile.
Copy the file and paste the file "bookmarks html" over to Vista, to the same path, but also to Users - username - Appdata - Roaming - mozilla - Profiles, and the first folder under profiles
Another way is to click "Bookmarks" on the menu, then organise bookmarks. Then under "File" on the menu, you will find an import option. You can then select "From File" and follow the same path as above.

I do not know if this is related to the Askbar or not.I have run virus scans using Norton and MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, then I have uninstalled, deleted, and reinstalled Firefox and Google Chrome. At last, Mozilla Firebird 0.6 has been released! A lot of changes have been made since the last version of the browser — then known as Phoenix — came out in December. The most noticeable of these is a new default theme, based on Qute by Arvid Axelsson. The Preferences dialogue has been replaced with a redesigned Options dialogue and you can now clear your history, cookies, cache etc. with a single click. Many improvements have been made to the bookmarks system, including an IE-style context menu for items in the Bookmarks menu. In addition, this release includes Quality Feedback Agent (Talkback), allowing crash data to be sent directly back to the developers. Mozilla Firebird 0.6 also features many of the enhancements that have been made to the Mozilla Application Suite, including automatic resizing of large images to fit in the browser window and smooth scrolling.

Source : Olhar Digital: Notícia: Navegador ultrarrápido da Mozilla será lançado para testes em junho

full article and more detailed in English : Mozilla's super speedy new browser will be available for testing in June

Three years ago Mozilla announced that began to develop a new architectural model for browsers, one that would front of WebKit (present in Chrome) and it would be much faster. For only now the project has gained a release date - although far.

The product is called Servant and his first version for public testing should be released in June. It will be an alpha available for Linux, OS X, Windows and Android, reports the blog of the initiative.

The Servant has been built on the basis of Rust programming language that Samsung helped Mozilla to develop in 2013. As explained by The Next Web, the browser will focus on performance, security, modularity and parallel - meaning that its components They operate independently, which helps improve the performance and stability.

Even though the news has finally received public appearance forecast, the alpha phase is only one of several that usually precede the official release. It should take months after it until the product is finally available for everyday use.

Mozilla does not talk much about the project, so do not know, for example, the foundation aims to unite it with Firefox - which runs the risk of losing market if the Servant win public.

Firefox has been freezing up on me, and when I close it down, I get a bluescreen error. It also happens a lot of the time when I close Firefox down normally. This was happening before I updated to the latest version of FF. I am running Windows XP, and have recently started using ZoneAlarm and Avast on my system.

A:Firefox closes = bluescreen error? (Moved for the mozilla/Firefox Forum)

Hi,

Can you give us the error in full that you are getting. Also, I would check and make sure that ZoneAlarm and Avast are allowing FF to connect to the internet.

Cheers!

I know other users have had issues with this but I didn't know if I could follow the solutions for their problem or not.

(Not sure what information is helpful so I'll start and the top and be brief)
For my job I am required to sometimes go to 'suspect websites' and normally Norton will catch anything before it even has a chance to download. Sadly, two weeks ago I did download a file called Trojan.Gen (or at least that is what Norton called it). Almost immediately Norton caught and removed all threats but I knew I wasn't going to get off that easy.

For a few days everything seemed fine but shortly after I started seeing attack messages from Norton from \device\harddiskvolume1\program files\mozilla firefox\firefox.exe, the IP and web address changes.

I couldn't tell if it was doing anything to my computer and have since been trying to remove it with no luck with Norton. Now, my web pages are being redirected to either a fake search page or a Pay Per Click page, if I click a link in Google.

Norton and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Free are telling me that they are not detecting anything.

I did read the preparation guide, so I hope I have all the information that is needed.

I want to thank you in advance for any help that I can get and I understand that this is a process. I appreciate your time!
-Eve

I have 4 browsers on my computer: Internet Explorer 8, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Opera. I am trying to listen to some MP3 files on a website, and all of the browsers, except for IE 8, told me to download the Realplayer Plugin. So I did, and when I tried to listen to the MP3 file, Realplayer will automatically enable this "Autoupdate Helper" thing and check for updates. So I let it check for updates, but then it'll say "There are no updates..." and just stop there. The file won't play! I click play again, and the same thing happens.

Internet Explorer is the only browser smart enough to open the MP3 files on the web page using Quicktime (the website actually tells you to use Quicktime to open the files) but it doesn't load the Youtube videos that are embedded on the site. There's a X on the top left corner of the section where the video is suppose to be.

Now I'm stuck! I want to view all the contents on one page with one browser! But none of the browsers will actually work properly!

So the main problem is:

1. The MP3 files won't load in Chrome, Firefox, and Opera using Quicktime.

Chrome is the only browser I use frequently, and the others are basically backup. IS THERE ANY SOLUTION TO THIS!?!?!?

Thanks everyone!

I don't know if my problem is Firefox or WordPress but I thought I'd try here first.
I use WordPress to publish articles and usually copy and paste from the finished article in the Articles forum to WordPress but since I reinstalled Win 7 this no longer works as paste is no longer an option when I right click in WordPress, or at least in the particular part that I need it to. I can, however, do it in Internet Explorer, but images aren't copied over, which they used to be. I've tried all the usual things like clearing the cache, but nothing has worked. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

A:Is this Win 7 or Firefox at fault? Moved from Mozilla/Firefox browsers

Hi,
I am using Win-7 too but I haven't used IE. So my suggestion is to, try another browser for the same purpose and then see the effects (I feel firefox is well suited for the purpose). If you are getting same problems then, you are missing with some features of Win-7 otherwise, it is the website issue.

Hi Guys

I am new to this forum and have limited knowledge of computers.
I was using Firefox version 2 and was very happy until I was requested to download version 3. Now I seem to have endless crashes and keep getting told Firefox has a problem & needs to close. Up to 5 x a day.

This is very frustrating.
This happens with avg, facebook ,all internet functions.

I have spybot running and avg and says there are no problems.

We had a power failure earlier yesterday and when I switched back on Microsoft suggested I check the C drive as there was a problem -but that seems to have sorted itself out.-probably due to not closing down properly.

So can you help me with detailed instructions on how to fix forefox or totally remove it and install from the beginning or is there major problems with that version 3 .1 ?

Thanks
Carol

Mozillas Firefox 3.6.3 is available.

   Information

Firefox 3.6.3 fixes a critical security issue that could potentially allow remote code execution (see bug 555109).

A:Firefox 3.6.3 Released

I was dubious about an April 1st release, even more dubious when it wanted a reboot after installation. It must have something to do with the particular exploit that was fixed.

I can't get firefox (any version) to work with Win 8. It loads the page then freezes and never completely loads. I now use Waterfox which is fast and similar if not the same as Firefox.

The Mozilla project just released it's first official build of the Firefox browser.

Now is a great time to check it out if you haven't already.

WHERE:

SOFTWARE:
Mozilla Firefox 0.x

DESCRIPTION:
Details have been released about several vulnerabilities in Mozilla
Firefox. These can potentially be exploited to detect the presence of
local files, cause a DoS (Denial of Service), disclose sensitive
information, spoof the file download dialog, and gain escalated
privileges.

1) Web sites may include images from local resources, which can be
exploited to determine the existence of local images, cause a DoS by
referencing device files (e.g. "/dev/tty0"), and potentially steal
passwords from Windows systems via file shares.

2) The file download dialog box truncates filenames, which
potentially can be exploited to spoof file extensions in the file
download dialog.

This is a variant of:
SA10760

3) On Mac OS X, Firefox is installed with world-writable permissions,
which potentially can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain
escalated privileges.
