The first obvious issue is the random background audio. There will randomly be a commercial who's audio plays in the background, but no video comes up. Usually when accessing IE, or navigating to a different web page.

When navigation is attempted I have to fight the redirect to an advertising webpage. Also, the web history populates to all sorts of search sites w/o ever navigating off of www.google.com
W/ or w/o opening IE I also have been getting multiple script errors. Example: [attachment=92834:script error.JPG]

The only 'blue screen of death' I have encountered had the following information in it:

Hello, Yesterday I updated the driver for my AMD Radeon HD6310 equipped Gateway laptop . After it was installed WM player and VLC player stopped working so I rolled back the driver but it did not fix the issue. I noticed that after the "driver" installation, some programs were added and some windows processes were altered.

I went to System Restore and picked a restore point before the driver update. However after initializing, the system crashed and I got a BSOD. I tried several other restore points but they all crashed and led to the BSOD.

Everything was working fine until I downloaded that new AMD driver. Any help would be appreciated.

System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, AMD Dual-Core Processor E-350, AMD Radeon HD 6310

2. Run DriverSweeper (you can download this from its website).

4. Now install the updated driver.
5. Most important part, keep us updated.

I think that the likely problem is the graphics controller, as in display properties under settings all i can select for color quality is either 16bit or 24bit.

I tried to run it by selecting *run in compatibility with Windows95 *run in 256 colors * run in 640*480 screen resolution. but NO luck. i get two black screens and then it quits right back to desktop. is it even possible to run this game on my comp? if yes, what is the problem?????

Hi, i have a problem , in the beginin of a computer, after a reboot. i get a blue message that i send to microsoft and it says 'Caused By A Driver Device' blah blah.... it hapens each time i play any game like Unreal 2004, GTA VICE CITY, Call of Duty, Age of mytology and many other games, i play for 5-10 minutre and my compure reboots by itself and then i get that message... i know it caused by my video graphic card... i have Xp serv. pack 2, 512 ram, NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200, 1.47 Ghz..... in the device manager it is workin properly and all other devices, but i know its video card that causes this all.. cos i got a message someteims that says sorry for any inconvience but ur video card blah blah has caused the game to close.... What do i do? i need that video card to run my computer adn games... so i dont want to uninstal it.... how can i fix it?? thak u for help nayeon

have you uninstalled and then reinstalled the nvidia drivers? You could have a corrupted driver.

Hi all,

So here's the story. I built this computer with all new parts in early 2011. This Windows 7 x64 install I have on there now is the only one it has ever had.

CPU: Intel i7 950
Video Card: MSI GTX 560 Ti
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R
Power Supply: Seasonic X750 Gold 750W

I've not made any modifications to the system since the original build. It's run smoothly from the start. The first BSOD I got was on July 2nd. I was getting the "clock interrupt not received on a secondary processor" error. I've gotten this same BSOD error three times since. It seemingly comes at random times. One happened as I was shutting down my computer.

Tonight I ran Driver Verifier as instructed on another thread here. It popped out a BSOD, which is why I strongly believe it is a driver problem. The BSOD said it was "gdrv.sys". Google tells me that's associated with Gigabyte, but that's where my comfort zone ends.

I've attached system health report and the Sysinternals scan as requested in the post at the top. I've also attached the first three minidumps from the "clock interrupt" BSODs, as well as the one generated by running the verifier.

Hopefully this is enough information and I'm going about this the right way. Please let me know if you have any questions or need me to provide something else. Thanks so much for your time.

Hi,

The verifier enabled DMP is blaming gdrv.sys which is the Gigabyte Easy Saver - mobo power utility driver. You can either check for an update to this software here: GIGABYTE

or remove it temporarily for troubleshooting purposes to see if the issue stops.

I really need help with fixing this. I have an Asus S500CA with windows 8.1, intel i3 and HD 4000 graphics, The problem started happening yesterday while I was playing Terraria and this has never happened to me beforeas I've been gaming on it with no problems beforehand. Afternoon!
While viewing a forum about a week ago i believe that my computer has been targeted by malware. A message came up saying that windows wanted to change something and I very very stupidly clicked yes as i wasn't thinking. Since then my web browsers have slowed down and its almost impossible to do things with them as they freeze repeatedly. Trying to get to the sites you say to use seem to be blocked and im downloading them from my Laptop and USB sticking them across.

My anti virus and Spyware seems to be blocked and not attacking things like it should or not starting up at all. I have Avira, Spybot and Malwarebytes installed. I did have that police internet blocking virus a fair few months ago but i believe i got rid of it then.

I have Win 7 64 bit OS, HP P6-2203a computer with CPU/GPU combined A8-8550,8GB memory and a HD7450 graphics card,the GPU intergrated into the GPU is HD7560D.I started to get a message that my graphics driver needed to be updated so I downloaded the latest AMD catalyst driver from the AMD site with their auto download program.I installed it but the next time I booted the problems began with win 7 freezing at startup or a black screen I tried startup repair and restored to an earlier time but to no avail,I kept getting blue screens. Although it worked when in safemode but I cant seem to get into safemode again to try and fix it?

You should have downloaded the driver from the HP website. OEMs often "tinker" with the hardware in their PCs, or optimize their drivers for a particular PC. This means that you can't use the drivers from the AMD website (or you shouldn't) on an OEM computer. It can lead to problems.

Incidentally, I've never seen a message from my system telling me to update my graphics drivers, and I run an old version of AMD drivers. Were you getting popups or something?

Also, if you're getting freezing at startup, you're going to have to get into safe mode to do this... somehow.

Attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed.

D/L the latest Video driver from the Alienware/Dell site( not the Nvidia Site) and save to your desktop. Uninstall the current driver, as required reboot occurs tap F8 while booting and select VGA Mode, Install the driver Downloaded to you desk top.

If that does not clear it up check the temps using Hardware Monitor run HWM in the background while in a game and Alt+Tab back to it expand all the trees and give us a screen shot.

i've been getting the blue screen of death (LOL) every 3 or 4 times my pc is turned on...my neighbor (the pc whiz) says shut it off, wait 10 seconds, and turn it back on...don't bother sending microsoft an error report (???)...today, i felt like sending it and got this in return as the analysis...argh!!! i'm going to put in all caps what i did...please scroll down...ty...the update place said i needed to install, which i tried to do...when 1.7 of 1.9 mb was downloaded, i got a red X telling me microsoft couldn't install the critical update (btw, i religiously do the updates when prompted on my taskbar)...i've not installed any new hardware, either...this is a dell 2300 i brought brand-new from the manufacturer in september 2002...help!!!

For the past few weeks (mostly since the windows update in mid September, which I have since rolled back) my computer has been having several issues. I am not sure if they are related but I will post them both in the same thread.

The three errors we want to concentrate on at this time is the 0xA which is caused by either harware or faulty drivers. The 0x8E which are almost always caused by hardware and are especially a strong indicator of corrupted memory. And 0x4E which is a very strong indicator of corrupted memory.

Since we have no minidumps to read at the moment and since the information you have posted gives no indication as to probable cause, do t standard Memtest diagnostic on your RAM.

Let it run for a LONG time. The rule is a minimum of 7 Passes; the more Passes after 7 so much the better. There are 8 individual tests per Pass. Many people will start this test before going to bed and check it the next day.

If you have errors you have corrupted memory and it needs to be replaced.

Also, with errors you need to run this test per stick of RAM. Take out one and run the test. Then take that one out and put the other in and run the test. If you start getting errors before 7 Passes you know that stick is corrupted and you don?t need to run the test any further on that stick.

I've had this laptop for a couple of years now. Last year I took it to a repair shop for a BSOD (I don't remember what caused it) and they had to install a fresh new HDD to it. Badly, they didn't verify my Windows 7 software, and after I noticed the shop refused to validate it! So for a year I carried a laptop without a validated Windows 7 copy (when I bought it it had the same OS, I tried to look for the validation number in the laptop but it was to worn of to recognize the code). So now, I got a BSOD a couple of days ago. It states DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL caused by the file ndis.sys. I attached my diagnostic to this post... I can't access my computer on any way but safe mode (without internet), as suggested by an engineer I know I removed most of the drivers concerned with the network adapter (both the wireless and wired ones), but it didn't help. Please help!

I have rebooted into safe mode without networking, deleted all drivers for my RealTek network card (currently running Realtek PCIe GBE Driver Win7 7067 01/22/2013) and restarted the computer several times. This does not seem to alleviate the problem. I have spent hours researching this and can't find anything for ndis.sys other than to reload the Realtek driver in the manner I just described. I must be missing something. I'm hoping a fresh pair of eyes can help me see what must be staring me in the face.

Please uninstall Daemon Tools/Alcohol software as it is a known cause of BSOD's in Win7 systems.

The DirectX MMS notified that there was a display driver hang, and then the DirectX Kernel took over and noted that timeout detection recovery is required to reset the display driver to try and get it responding again. Unfortunately, given we bug checked, the TDR failed.

Recently I've been getting BSOD occasionally on my HP CQ40-401AU laptop. Most of the time it occurs when I play games (mostly Dota 2) or watch video (embedded in web browser), but sometimes even when I just browse the webs, do some simple tasks or even when the computer is idle (just some tasks in background, e.g. downloading). Some periods of time BSOD occurs quite regularly (about 2-3 times/day) but some periods of time it doesn't occur at all.

The STOP codes are mostly 1A, 1E, and 3B... so I guess RAM or some driver is the root of problem. I'm using 2 RAM modules, 1 Micron 1GB and 1 Transcend 2GB, so their incompability may be the problem, but BSOD hasn't occur a long time after I installed the second RAM (must be 1 year at least). I have tried to reinstall Windows several times but it did not resolve the BSOD.

My computer specs:
- Laptop HP Compaq CQ40-401AU
- OS: Windows 7 Professional 64bit
- RAM: 3GB (1GB Micron + 2GB Transcend as described above)
- Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics

iI had this problem a while back, and i tried all kinds of things to get rid of it ,thing is i forgot which one worked..lol..if your having a kernel ntoskrl.exe error.,its usually caused by a memmory leak,theres not much info on this last time i looked,but some things to look for are is a  AMD64netfx  file and a microsoft 64 bit  file may be conflicting, a tune up cleaner ,glary util 5 actually found the problem and tossed the amd64 in the recycle bin..but im not sure that fixed it.
 
i think the way i repaired it was i went into system setup and changed from a full memmory dump to a small dump .....bsod s can be repaired most of the time through a bios as well , try a
default setting in your bios,sometimes a setting gets changed by mistake. check your ram settings and cpu settings or try a lower cpu setting , sometimes one cpu gets the whole load and is over working...thats what gives a  nt kernel error..check your cpu temperature and fan.
 
last but not least apparently the reason my AMD64netfx  got tossed was sometimes something or someone replaced the ntoskrnl.exe with a fake  ntfsokrnl.exe check  in your  win system 32 its not supposed to be there if i remember correctly.or a conflicting netframework or visual studios..usually  the 2008 versions have a bug.

Hi,

Sporadically I get BSOD's. At the bottom of the screen it says the RealtekHQ device is the cause. Seemed like an easy fix, I uninstalled the old driver and installed the new one. That didn't fix it. I called intel and they said it could be the audi integration on the graphics card. My graphics card has no audio output, that I know of. They told me to try running the games and such with the onboard graphics, but the onboard graphics will not run HL2, Assassins Creed, Counterstrike, and so on. I've only gotten the BSODs while listening to music, and playing a game. Does anyone have any ideas on how to recreate the situation, or know of any programs like Prime95 for the audio system? lol Intel suggested the MB might be bad....Any suggestions on what to replace it with as this is the 3rd bad board I've gotten?

Hello is this onboard sound? If so just disable onboard sound in the bios and buy a pci sound card rather cheap these days. You can even buy usb soud card devices on ebay that you connect your speakers too for about 5 might be worth a look at.

Hello,

Today a pop-up showed on my screen about updating my drivers. My graphics card is the Nvidia GeForce GT630 4GB.(I upgraded my pc with this.) I opened GeForce Expierence to start downloading and performing the update... I have two monitors connected to my computer, it has been working perfectly since I got the computer somewhere aroung November. But anyways, when the update was close to finishing, I suddenly got a black-screen and when that was over, it said it couldn't complete the update and my headmonitor (#1, which is connected with a white DVI-cable, I don't know that much about computer, apologize me.) got a smaller resolution, about the same as my 2nd monitor's resolution... besides that, my other monitor ( connected with a smaller blue DVI-cable, might be wrong about how it's called...) dissapeared and couldn't connect anymore to the pc. My question is , how can I fix this, have I done anything wrong while downloading the driver update?... Please help, thanks anyways for reading this threat.

I've tried using Bluescreenview to try and solve this issue on my own but haven't been able to. I've had a BSOD from this driver about 6 times in the past month. I'm new to the forum and this is my first post.  Looking at the help this site gives is immeasurable , i hope someone can help me with BSODs im getting quite frequently when im attempting to fix it.
 
Please find my bug report .txt zipped file created with Nirsofts Blue Screen View.  It has been pointing to a specific driver ntkrnlpa.exe that has been the cause of most of the crashes. 
 
I have ran numerous anti virus , anti rootkit tests,  including GMER, Combofix, Malware Bytes, Comodo Cleaning Essentials and recently EMSIsoft which did find Win32 Bunndle virus which has now been deleted.   GMER does advice rootkit like behaviour but when i test the MBR for any changes using mbrchecker is advises \PhysicalDrive0   Windows 7 MBR code detected  -- which means that the MBR has not been modified.  
 
The driver is a kernal system file so i attempting to do a sysprep but this also crashed somehow.   Also it has been frequently crashing when scanning with Rogue Killer and it is usually crashing when searching for rootkits. 
 
Would anyone be interested to help locate this cause, perhaps checking out my GMER, Combofix logs to help determine the fault, would be much appreciated.. Ive been on this a whole week and have another issue with Comodo Internet Security not installing as i can not seem to get rid of all its Registry entries using Regedt32 , my permissions to delete them ... A:BSODs, Possible caused by driver or Virus etc

ntoskrnl.exe (also seen as ntkrnlpa.exe, ntkrnlmp.exe, or ntkrpamp.exe) is the kernel (core) of the Windows operating system.  It is protected by security features and the Windows System File Checker.  As such, if this file was to blame, you'd be experiencing many more problems other than the occasional BSOD.
In most cases this file is blamed because another file (typically a 3rd party driver) has corrupted the memory space that ntoskrnl.exe considers as it's own.  When this happens, ntoskrnl.exe typically finds unknown data (from the 3rd party driver) in it's memory space.  At this point the OS panics and throws a BSOD to prevent damage to the system.

Now, please note that your Driver Verifier enabled memory dumps tend to blame networking components (mostly tcpipreg.sys)
While this is a Windows driver, we presume that Windows drivers aren't likely to be at fault because of the error correcting mechanisms built into Windows.
That leaves us with 3rd party drivers as the most likely cause (followed by hardware, then by Windows drivers)
 
Interestingly, you're having issues with Comodo.
We also know, from past experience, that we have frequent problems with Comodo in some Windows systems
The easiest way to uninstall Comodo would be to reinstall the program, then uninstall it.  The hope being that the reinstallation will fix the problems that prevented the uninstallation in the first pl... Read more

Hello!

I have a Razer Abyssus 3.5G mouse that is causing BSOD's. Lately it's been saying IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, although I was getting an NPFS and NTFS.sys error previously. Whenever I restart my comp with it plugged in it will BSOD at least once or twice. Also, if I unplug it once it starts up it will BSOD almost immediately. I have installed the most recent driver and do not quite know what to do! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi!

Razer devices have been known to be very troublesome, especially when their drivers are added into the mix. Here's what I recommend doing...

1. Boot into safe mode.

2. Remove your mouse from the system since it is in safe mode.. Razer's drivers should not be loaded, so you should not BSOD.

3. Once removed, fully uninstall Razer's drivers.

4. Restart and boot into normal Windows.

5. Attach your razer mouse and let Windows install the generic drivers.

6. Monitor how the system behaves without the Razer drivers.

I've been getting very frequent (daily) bluescreens for around a week now. After ~3 days I reinstalled Windows 10 (from an ISO) and installed all drivers from here.After reinstalling Windows, the bluescreens still occur up to two times per day.Here is the output from Bluescreenview:the first (lowermost) one happened while installing visual studio, the rest during normal operation. Usually without much load on the GPU (and CPU for that matter) (no games, no video streams). I read somewhere on the forum that the PCI Energy Saver Setting might cause bluescreens, I switched to medium energy saving mode as recommended and still am getting bluescreens. Any help is appreciated

I have been having problems with my computer. It started about 3months ago when I installed a 512mb Ram. My computer had been running very slow (256) so I upgraded. I bought the correct memory and installed it correctly. But since then everytime I switch my computer on it will restart itself a couple of times and then start up properly. Once windows has loaded, it will say that "The computer has just recovered from a serious problem" and "Would you like to send a report".

I need a bit of help in installing the graphics drivers on my laptop. It's been bugging me for a long time.
My laptop's a Samsung Notebook Series 3. It's GPU is supposed to be AMD HD 7670M. Thing is whenever I install the drivers, be it from the Samsung or AMD website, it always gives me a BSOD. It has different error codes, but it usually starts with the atikmpag.sys code. It differs from then on. I had concluded that the graphics card is the main culprit because I have the Standard VGA drivers on here and it doesn't BSOD on me.

I did a clean install of Windows 7 using the Recovery Disc.
Another thing to mention is I brought this laptop to a technician a few months back to upgrade its RAM. They updated my drivers for free. They connected and external HDD and used some sort of software, I don't know which but it sure did bring back the AMD drivers flawlessly. No blue screens, no crashes, and it definitely made me play games at a stable frame rate. Before they fixed it, I was using Standard VGA drivers too.

I have done a bit of tinkering and tried the following:
-Uninstalling the AMD drivers using the AMD Uninstall Tool and reinstalling
-Using the command prompt to expand the atikmpag.sys
-Installing different kinds of versions of the AMD drivers

Other things to note:
-One time after installing the drivers it didn't produce a BSOD, it shut down unexpectedly and give a BSOD after rebooting just before the Windows logo

I have a weird problem with USB 3 drivers I think.

This is my configuration:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3V
Cpu : Intel Core i5 3470
Ram : 8 Gb Corsair 1333 Mhz
Video: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 2048MB DDR5 OC version
Hdd : Western Digital 640 GB 7200 Rpm
Case: Segotep SG-Z2
Power supply: Corsair 450VX

In device manager>>Universal Serial Bus controllers I have an Unknown Device. If I delete it then refresh for hardware changes I get BSOD. Only this way I get bsod.

If I connect my USB 3 external hdd to my front USB 3 slot I get a message Unrecognized USB device and it loops that message until I disconnect the device.

I installed the USB 3 drivers from the CD that came with the board and from gigabyte's site.

I see that the BSOD is related to iusb3hub.sys file but couldn't find any fixes yet.

I am periodically getting the blue screen of death. I know I need to fix my problem but can't figure it out. When I restart my computer and windows takes me to the problem description, I am told:

A device driver installed on your computer caused the problem; however, we cannot determine the precise cause.

I have checked and can't tell what it's for. It actually happened about a year ago and I ignored it. I know bad. After I infected my computer last month..got it cleaned up..it happens probably once every week or every other week.

The codes I am given are:

BCcode:1000008e BCP1:C0000005 BCP2: 804e59ec BPC3: eee69ccc BPC4: 00000000 OSVER: 5_1_2600 SP: 2_0 Product: 768_1

I had a dump file but I didn't write those down. I didn't what they were until I read another post.

Can anyone help? PLEASE!!

Device driver.. so, have you tried updating all your drivers to the latest ones?

Having seen other help from this forum I thought I'd post my problem and see if you guys could help me out.

I just built my girlfriend's PC a few days ago, all was well but now a BSOD appears randomly, so after using BlueScreenView on the dump files it all originates from one driver.

The PC in questions specs are almost identical to my own (minus the 1TB HDD and her MOBO is the Rev 3.1 version of the same MOBO).

I've attached a copy of the dump files to this post if that helps anyone.
I've already tried chkdsk which gave no errors.
