Preferred Solution: My Lenovo yoga 720 12ikb touch screen suddenly stopped working.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I got a new Lenovo Yoga 520 notebook a few days ago - initially everything was working fine, however now when I switch it into tablet mode the touch screen is completly unresponsive. I have done all the Lenovo system updates and windows 10 is up to date.  Has anyone experienced a simular issue and knows how I can fix this? Its still under warranty but I would prefer to try and fix myself if possible.

Hi All I have Yoga 720 12 IKB ideapad, both touchscreen and fingerprint stopped working after aupgrading windows 10 pro. However, I was able to restore the fingerprint functionality but not the touch. When I took the laptop to one of the Lenovo agents in Kuala Lumpur he noticed (Which i did not notice before) that there is a Yellow box around the screen where the touch is working only out of the box and does not work inside this area. He asked for replacing the screen with just 1 month warranty which I simply refused. Any support here?

ISSUEThe 720 touchpad and touchscreen are the worst.  This issue started out of the box before I had even gone on line.  When the touchpad does work, the right click/left click distinction doesn't work and I have to use the screen, when it's working, for the long hold until the right click options appear. When the screen is working, the ability to close a window and touching it just the right way is dubious at best.  I've tried modifying sensitivity, etc, in the control panel, but there is no difference.   When both window and touchpad stop functioning, I plug in an old HP mouse I have, but when I'm mobile, this means running the mouse down my leg if I don't have a surface to place my laptop upon.  And it also means carrying a mouse with me everywhere I go.  My line of work is often standing and walking with clients so  not really possible in my line of work.   RETURN/REPAIR OPTIONS AREN'T OFFERED OR ARE NOT PRACTICALTo back up a bit, I attempted to return this to BestBuy, but was four days beyond the allowable return date.  I contacted Lenovo, but it's all about mailing it in or turning the laptop over and being without anything for a few days.  Hard to find those few days.  I've tried to live it, but it's been an enormous killer of productivity, not to mention incredible frustration and some embarrsassing typos.    PAST YOGA BUILD WAS GREAT - WHAT WENT WRONG WITH THE 720?My last Yoga 710 wa... So out of nowhere, my 7737's touch screen has stopped responding to touch.  Mouse works just fine.  Device manager has the monitor driver listed as a "generic PnP monitor", which sounds suspicious... and under Human Interface drivers, there is nothing listed for touchscreens, just airplane mode ***...  I have restarted, driver updated, etc. to no avail.  Any ideas?

Hi everyone, I have a Lenovo X220 Tablet that has touch screen and pen. They suddenly stopped working today. The LCD screen still works pefectly fine, however. The touch screen is enabled on the touch settings. When I try to calibrate, it does not detect my finger or the pen. I also noticed that when I tried to reinstall the driver and it said "a supported tablet was not found on this system". I have the most recent bios. I am running Windows 7 that came with the laptop. All windows updates completed. Is it possible for the digitizer to be defective, but the LCD screen to work perfectly fine?Could it be just a ribbon failure?Which part would need to be replaced, if this is the case? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

A:X220 tablet touch screen suddenly stopped working

Even though it looks like a single device, it is really 3 separate ones.  There is a basic panel.  There is a static discharge digitizer in the front to sense finger touches.  There is a second Wacom digitizer behind the panel to detect the pen.  Any of them can fail.  The wires in the cable can also crack.  Since both digitizers failed, I would first look in device manager to see if there could be a problem with a USB hub.  (digitizers both connect as USB devices.)  My next guess would be the cable.  Sorry I cannot be more definite.

Hi there! Need help. Obviously. Hope people still look at this fourm... I have a Lenovo Yoga 3 1470 Laptop. Its...a few years old AND it is out of warrenty (so please no recommendations for sending it into Lenovo Repair Service). It is running the Windows 10 update, though it initally came with Windows 8.1  A few days ago I factory reset the computer to wipe it of all files and such. When the reset was finished it updated and reloaded itself with Windows 10. Everything seemed fine at first... HOWEVER, the touch screen is not responding to anything. I can fold the laptop into tablet mode, the physical keyboard will shut off but it will not respond to touches by any means. The Pen & Touch information in windows settings says that Pen & Touch are not available for this device. I have checked the drivers and the HID-Compliant Driver is NOT THERE (it was at first but it was greyed out and gave me a code 45).  Tent mode also doesn't work. I can flip the computer over, and Auto -Rotate will appear on the screen but the screen never flips. I have searched high and low on Google and Lenovo but perhaps I am missing something, a driver update or ...anything. I just received my brand new ThinkPad L380 Yoga yesterday and went through all of the regular set up steps.  The touch screen worked when I first opened it, but then after Windows 10 finished installing, the touch screen and pen no longer worked.  I have done all of the troubleshooting I've found listed in the forums and on the website aside from sending it back, but it still doesn't respond to touch.  The change happened right after Windows 10 was finished updating.  Is there something I'm missing?  Do I need to get an external mouse to try to disable the touchpad?  I'd really like to avoid sending it back if possible.  I know it has to be something I did and I just don't realize it.

Will a factory reset make a difference?  I really need the touch screen for the work I do, and I can't send it out for repairs.

Hi. Touch screen on my device is working from time to time. Mostly not working at all. It stops working after suspend/reboot. I can't understand what makes it work again. Sometimes you suspend/reboot again and it starts working, sometimes its not. The reason of this is I2C HID Device with status "This device cannot start. (Code 10) A request for the HID descriptor failed." which is shown in Device Manager. When it doesn't have yellow warning icon - touch is working. What I tried: Windows Troubleshooter. It reinstalls driver. Doesn't help.Remove driver in Device Manager. Doesn't help. It restores automatically.Disable/Enable device. No luck.Install latest Lenovo updates (including BIOS, V.2JCN36WW) via Lenovo Companion. No luck.Install Windows updates. No luck. BTW, Creators update installed.Suspend/Restart. Helps in very rare cases around 1 of 10.

Hello, This is my first time posting, so please bear with me. A few days ago, the touch screen completely stopped working. I am also unable to rotate the screen. Navigating to the Device Manager, I see three I2C HID Device drivers, but one of them has a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it. When I click on it, I see the error: "This device cannot start. (Code 10) A request for the HID descriptor failed." Disabling it does nothing, neither does uninstalling it - when they are reenabled or reinstalled, the error persists. There are no drivers that can be updated, and there is no way to roll back to a previous driver as I never updated these due to there being no problems. I assume this is a hardware issue, but I am not sure how to verify this or if there is anything else that can be done.  I have had quite a few problems with this machine, sending it out twice for the same problem and having the same problem occur for the third time (the power button does not work), but I am hoping this is something that is fixable.  Thanks!

Hi - the touch pad on my Satellite Pro L870-18G (Windows 8) has suddenly stopped working (after less than 2 months' use) - which makes the laptop rather difficult to use. According to the device manager there is nothing wrong with the driver - but I tried to reinstall anyway (didn't help).
Do these things normally suddenly fail?

Why does the device manager say there is no problem when there quite clearly is?

Hey everybody, I just received my P40 last week as a replacement for another Lenovo device. So far, everything seems to work fine with one exception: When I turn the screen over to the "tablet position", the touch screen and the touch pen show erroneous behaviour.a) As soon as I make the first input with the touch pen, I cannot make any further input with my finger, so the touch input is simply turned off. The Windows setting to ignore touch input when the stylus is used is not active.b) When I try to tap buttons at certain areas of the screen, especially at the upper edge, the cursor of the stylus starts jumping around and shows up at the lower edge of the screen. That means that when I for example tap on the "X" symbol in the upper right corner to close a window, I actually click on some of the symbols in the system tray in the lower right corner. This problem stops occuring as soon as the angle between the two case parts (screen and keyboard) reaches/exceeds approx. 40. It does not matter if Windows is in "Tablet" or "Desktop" Mode. I already tried to manually install another Wacom driver mentioned at https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Wacom-Tablet-Service-for-ISD-Driver-Win... and https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P-and-W-Series-Mobile/P40-Yoga-issues/td-p/3293985. I had no luck trying driver versions 7.3.3.12, 7.3.4.8 and 7.3.4.13. I would really appreciate your help since this issue makes working in the tablet position... Read more

But its hardly a bios.  Theres nothing i can do.  Cant change from ahci to raid (not that i wanted too) , cant change from uefi to legacy or both etc.  The only thing i can do (and have tried) is disable secure settings and fast boot.  Never seen such a restricted bios.  Does anyone have an idea how i can get it to work? Maybe a real bios with options or special drivers or settings ive to change?  Otherwise ill have to return this machine.

My touch screen stopped working in early October without myself doing any changes that I'm aware of. The Windows Anniversary update came at that time and might be involved. In the Device Manager, there is no touch screen under "Mice and other pointing devices". There is a "HID compatible touch screen" under HID, which I've tried to disable and to uninstall. It comes back after reboot, but still no function. It could of course be a hardware problem, but it's usually not.... /Andreas

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

First do a Power Drain

Remove AC and Battery and hold the power button down for 15 sec.
Turn the computer back on and see if the Touch capability is now detected under System Properties,

Yesterday evening, the USB-C ports of my Lenovo Yoga 920 stopped working suddenly. While working with the computer, the connected external monitor and the laptop screen both went dark and I couldn't revive them by disconnecting/reconnecting any cables or by pressing any keys on the laptop. In the end, I had to force a hard restart of the Yoga 920 by pressing the power button on the right. After rebooting the laptop, I noticed that it completely failed to communicate with any devices connected to the USB-C port, including my external monitor, keyboard, mouse and Ethernet network. First suspecting an issue with the connected USB-C hub (Kensington USB-C Universal Dock 60W (SD4600P)), I performed a full power recycle, including detaching/attaching cables, of all involved components. This had no result. I noticed then in the Windows 10 Device Manager (devmgmt.msc), that the USB device "UCSI USB Connector Manager" was marked as not working (yellow exclamation mark). The status of the device was:This device cannot start. (Code 10) STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE Disabling/removing/reinstalling this device in Windows 10 had no effect on the issue. Then I noticed that the laptop didn't charge while connected to the power supply from Lenovo, which was delivered with the laptop. There are two USB-C ports on the left side of the laptop. The one towards the back is marked as the one to use for charging. It didn't work any more. I had to connect the USB-C cable from th... Hello Dws520Thanks for using the Lenovo forums. Was this the creators update?
If so, have a look on the following post, this should show if your device has been tested with the update yet:
https://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/solutions/ht503655

From what I can see, your unit does not seems to have made the list, which leads me to believe that this will be the cause of the issue, I would recommend that you revert back to the previous version of Windows, and observe if the fault still occurs or not.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.==================================================================================Did someone help you today? Thank them with a Kudo! If you find a post helpful and it answers your question, please mark it as an "Accepted Solution"!
