Lenovo Ideapad 320 14ISK RAM upgrade compatibility

Q: Lenovo Ideapad 320 14ISK RAM upgrade compatibility

I've read that the RAM on my laptop can only run 2133Mhz speed. But can I install 2400Mhz RAM? will it be compatible? It doesn't matter if the RAM speed is decreased to 2133Mhz, what I worry about is the BSOD. Warm regards,Andre

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Good day everyone,I encountered a Blue Screen of Death on my laptop. It happens when I play League of Legends, and it does not occur at browsing or playing other games. Here's the Blue Screen:I think the SynTP.sys is linked to Synaptics Pointing Device, the touchpad.I have the latest drivers for my touchpad, yet another blue screen appears when I play LoL, and the same error is shown.Any ideas on how to fix this? Hello,  I've got a problem with my newly bougt Lenovo Ideapad 500 14ISK. It randomly displays signs of shutting off/overheating. The screen turns black (not off but just like its not receiving signal) an de audio stops working. Only solution is to force shut off the laptop and restart.  I bought the new laptop two monts ago. Of those two months i'vo only had the chance to work on it for a few weeks due to this problem. I've read the forums when the first problems started acting up.  I've installen the new intel drivers, did a bios update, did a full system sofware and hardware check, and obviously found no problems. After giving up and returning it to the store, they said it should be a hardware issue, if the laptop just radomly shutts of (like overheating). It took them three weeks to send my laptop back.  Once i got it back, i read the reppair report, and guess what? they didn't found any hardware issues, so they installed a clean version of windows and did a bios update. After working on it for an hour in the universities library the laptop turned black again.  So if anyone can give me some advice that would be greatly appreciated, since the repair man of Lenovo also don't understand my problem.  Some info;doesnt matter if battery power or net power.Doesnt matter which programs i am using, it will juust randomly shut off. I did the intel upgrades listed on Lenovo's forums and the latest ones, still the same p... Hey there, Both hinges of my Ideapad 300-14ISK are now broken after 6 months of light use. The right one started to freeze after less than 2 months from the purchase date. It has resulted in breaking the LCD cover as a result as I opened or closed the lid. About a month later, the left hinge did the same. I can't open or close the lid at all now. I am now looking for a replacement for those hinges since I gave up on trying to resolve this with the support team although it is still in the warranty (however I bought it from outside the US. They're claiming that's why they can't help me). The Lenovo website has 2 parts for the hinges for this model but I can't understand the difference between them. First one is "5H50K14044 - HINGE L+R LIMR L300-14IBR" while the second one is "5H50K14032 - HINGE L+R L300-14IBR". I can't figure out the difference between both parts. The only difference in the name is the "LIMR" word in the description of the first one. Does anyone understand what the difference between both parts is? Thanks!

HiIm looking to upgrade and i have read manuals (two of them provided slightly different information) and also some general questions that i would like an answer from someone who is familiar with this particular model. First, i want to upgrade RAM and all i know is that there is DDR4 4GB(different from what manual says). from CPU-Z testCPU-Z also shows that NB frequency of current RAM is around 2700MHz and DRAM frequency is 1064MHzFrom manual i find out:Type and speed: DDR3L-1333 MHz/1600MHz max supported capacity: 16GB Slots: SO-DIMM x2 What i do not know is what type of RAM shall i schoose/machine supports. I guess since CPU-Z pulls real info from PC then i shall schoose DDR4 for free slotBut there is 2133MHz and 2400MHz memorys available, which one is best for this laptop?  Second question is about HDD, current one is 1TB HDD and also i have available extra bay for 7mm HDD only where usually is cd-drive.I want to take out HDD and replace it with SSD and put HDD into extra bay, will this model be able to manage two drives simultaneously, SSD as main one with OS and HDD for extra files? As i understood i need to replace HDD with SSD and make a clean OS install(already prepared USB installation media) and after everything is done and booted into windows then i will connect HDD into extra bay but should i prepare HDD somehow or it is simple as plug in and go?Is there anything else i need to concider as im planning to do all this by myself... Hello All, I have just bought Ideapad 300S-14ISK last month. It came with 4GB RAM only and I found it way too slow even for simple task like browsing the web using a few Firefox tabs. I am thinking to upgrade the RAM to 16 GB to get a better performance. Using CPU-Z tool, I found that my notebooks has Samsung 4 GB DDR3L 1600Mhz single rank unbuffered non-ECC module with CAS Latency 11-11-11-28.  At the moment, I am interested in getting RAM from Corsair 16 GB kit (2 x 8 GB). They have at least two products:- Value Select, with CAS Latency 11-11-11-28- Vengeance, with CAS Latency 9-9-9-24 My question is, can I use the Corsair Vengeance in Ideapad 300? Will it run and able to take the benefit of using high performance memory modules?

When I first had this problem it would only freeze once a day. Now it happens everytime I try to play a game. I have seen some other posts on this forum to try to fix my problem but I still haven't found a fix. I have reinstalled windows, moved some games to my ssd, updated BIOS, updated graphics card drivers / downgrade drivers, etc and the problem continues to happpen. This it what actually happens: Im like 1 min into the game and then all of a sudden the whole laptop freezes and the audio from the game keeps on repeating. The laptop doesn't let me alt + tab, alt + F4, the mouse and keyboard doesn't work at all, I'm forced to do a force shut down. This problem only happens when I'm using the AMD grahics. If I play a game on the intel graphics it won't freeze but the game is barley even playable.I really want this problem fixed!  Please help me.

Good Evening,I've reviewed the previous threads and have not seen a concise answer to this question; which m.2 SSDs are compatable with the Y700-14ISK Lenovo Ideapad? I've got the stock 5400 500GB HDD in there now and am keen on upgrading it right away with an SSD in either 2.5" or m.2 configuration.I've referenced the HMM and am torn between either going to the Samsung Evo 850 (Sata III) or the Samsung SM951 (PCIe) based. Been reading about the pros and cons of going from PM851 to SM951 and the cost difference, and performance difference, sounds impressive. Would really appreciate some guidance if any prior customers have successfully installed either of these m.2 models in their Y700-14ISK ideapads and if it's difficult to clone the existing HDD to the blank m.2 (remember, this version of the Y700-14ISK does not have an optical drive). Many thanks for your time and consideration,Mongoose

Good day everyone,I just recently bought a new laptop which is a lenovo ideapad 110-14isk. When I booted it up, I noticed that it can't respond quickly so I opened task manager and saw that disk usage is always at 100%. Due to this, even shutting down takes a long time and seldom I force it to shut down because it is very unresponsive. I observed the laptop for a few days and found out that windows update was slowing it. I disabled the Windows Update Service, and when I rebooted it, the disk usage is at normal levels. So my question is, how can I update my laptop? and is there any way to use Windows Update without the laptop lagging? Hope you can help me. Thanks in advance.

I am experiencing strange mouse pointer behaviour after my laptop has been running for a while and a program is working in the background. The mouse pointer is displayed in a very low resolution, while jumping up to another part of the screen. So usually, the mouse cursor looks like this:  But when the problem occurs, it looks like this (and jumps up to another part of the screen):  As mentioned, the problem only occurs after my laptop has been running for a while (this may take a day, but sometimes only an hour) but when it does, it keeps occuring untill I restart. This has been happening since I bought the system about two months ago. System: Lenovo ideapad 510S14ISKOperating system: Windows 10 I already tried:- updating my drivers (using Lenovo Companion)- reinstalling windows (while keeping my files)- uninstalling Lenovo System Interface Foundation as recommended here- unchecking the box "enhance pointer precision", also as recommended here The problem occurs both with my external mouse plugged in and plugged off. Any ideas what might be causing this problem?

Maybe related to this issue, maybe not: I also noticed a strange resolution in a few other places. For example, in the image below you can see that the text in the left box is displayed much sharper than that in the right box.  This occurs also after my laptop has just restarted and is of course much less anoying. Nonetheless, I thought it would be interesting to mention as the two issues might be related.

Hey everyone, My Intel HD graphics 520 driver continuously crashes and basically shuts down my computer. The power button/keys are still on, but I just get a black screen (with some light behind it), as if it is in sleep mode, and I cannot wake up my computer anymore. The only solution then is to just force it off by holding the power button and restart it. I feel it happens at random, but it seems to occur more often when I'm playing a video or something (although that may just be a coincidence). I've had this problem for a long time and have tried several times to reinstall or update the driver. Because I got so fed up with it I just disabled the driver and used the NVIDIA Geforce 920M driver, which works sort of fine with the only big disadvantages that I can't increase or reduce the brightness of my screen anymore and can't run certain programs/games properly. So, therefore, I'm still looking for a solution.  Can anybody help me out?

I've just bought and received a Lenovo V310-14ISK. It came with 4GB RAM memory. I'm looking for information about whether a memory upgrade is allowed for this equipment or not. The installation manual states the following : DDR4-2133 MHz, SODIMM  1, (max: 4 GB (on board) + 4 GB (on select models)) and provides steps to REPLACE the memory module in the socket.  So, I assumed those instructions are for the replaceable memory (not for the fixed one on board), and as a result, that I upgrade memory to 8GB by installing an additional 4GB memory module. Am I wrong in my assumption ? How can I confirm that without having to open the equipment before buying additional memory ? (PS: Lenovo Support says they do not provide support for such type of inquiries) Thanks in advance Amaury

It is a brand new SSD with nothing on it. When the Windows installation wizard gets to the point it asks me where I want to install Windows to, I get nothing in the window at all, and the SSD does not appear to be recognized in BIOS. Since you have not indicated the processor used I can't give you much detail. If you base it only on the specs you can only use 2 sticks or module with a max rating of 1333 Mhz each depending on the processor. As to the other specs details you have to locate the specs of the processor that you are using in the intel site. There you will know whether you can use 1600 Mhz plus other details. One thing for sure is that the max that you can use is 16 GB only if the processor allows it since you can't find a 16 GB module in the market to achieve 32 GB per processor spec.

i'd love an answer as soon as possible

Hi lidor2585,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Would you have similar board on the new upper case that you ordered?

Checking on part number 90205216 upper case ACLU2 Upper Case Black L W/LEDSPG TPCB show similar green board for the touchpad that goes with the upper case.

Replacing the entire upper case includes replacing the same board so there should be no need to remove it as it is expected that it is included on the new upper case. For the same reason why the hardware manual do not offer specific instruction on touchpad board removal.

I hope this heps answer your query.
Update us how it goes on your end.
