Satellite T110-121 Black dot constantly on screen

Q: Satellite T110-121 Black dot constantly on screen

I received my new T110-121 the other day and after a couple of hours use a small black dot appeared on the screen and has remained in the same spot since even after the computer being switched off and on again.

Ordinarily such a thing would not bother me too much but i have just purchased the laptop and it is bugging me.

I was wondering if anyone would know how to resolve this issue or if it is something that need repairing?

Preferred Solution: Satellite T110-121 Black dot constantly on screen

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

It looks like an dead pixel on the screen.
Such dead pixels are not unusual and this could happen.

I found this Toshiba document:
+Information on screen technology and pixel failure tolerance for LCD displays+

It seems that an certain pixel value is required in order to get the screen replaced.

I am looking to increase the processing power of my T110-107, and I was wondering if it could take a different processor, and which processors it would take?

A:Satellite T110-107 - What processors can it take?

As far as I know the notebook is equipped with the Mobile Intel(R) GS40 Express Chipset
The new CPU needs to be supported by the chipset.
As far as I know the chipset supports
Intel? Core?2 Duo ULV CPU SU2700 1.30GHz CPU(956P)743 1.3G and the Intel? Celeron? Processor ULV 763 (1M Cache, 1.40 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)
But the point is that nobody knows if the new CPU would run stable in connection with the BIOS?
So there is always a small part of risk regarding this theme,?

My mother has dementia and has forgot her password to access Windows, I've tried everything to get it or restore the laptop but it's seeming impossible , does anyone have any idea how to restore the laptop to factory settings?

A:Toshiba Satellite T110-121

Sorry to hear that
However, we are still unable to assist in bypssing any passwords

If you want to go back to factory settings - you will lose all the data and possibly any emails that have been used with a program on the PC and POP

From CD

You may have a hidden partition on the harddrive - if so you can recovery from there -
BUT - you should also be able to create some bootable recovery DVD or CDs from the hidden partition using the toshiba recover cd creator

two ways to get to the hidden partition on Toshiba
Press an hold the zero key and power on - this will enable the recovery menu
OR on later models
Tap F8 as it boots and then use repair computer - from menu

hold F8 and turn on PC
choose first option
Repair PC

may need to change the keyboard layout to UK
then log in to Administrator user

Full menu of options appear

if not you can order replacement recovery cds

My computer is 3 years old. about a month ago when I turned it on it only showed the THOSHIBA logo and a black lit screen (like its waiting to start, but it wont). The support center guided me to unplug the ac adapter and the battery and wait a while, than plug it back in.

It worked and i left the computer on until I bought a new battery thinking that was the problem (the old battery wasn't charging anymore).

Everything was ok for a few days since i made sure the new battery will always be full but yesterday i left it without the ac adapter and the battery got completely empty- and now it wont turn on again.

Please help. tnx

A:Satellite T110 wont load

And did you try to repeat the same procedure recommended by service agent?
Remove AC adapter and battery, wait a while and then connect all parts again?

Otherwise I don?t think its battery problem since the notebook should also work with plugged AC adaptor.

I have a Satellite T110-10N. The battery does not load 100% only on 50%. I like to know how recalibrate it.

A:Satellite T110-10N - How to recalibrate my battery?

Why you want to recalibrate the battery?

If it loads only up to 50% it means that some battery cells are dead and you have to replace the whole HDD. The battery can be charged 500 times, then it needs replacing and sometimes the battery cells get faulty.

I recommend contacting an authorized service provider. The guys can order all Toshiba spare parts.

Just tried to boot up my T110-11U and got 3 quick beeps followed by 2 slow beeps, any ideas?
I tried removing the RAM and swapping them around & also tried some ram I know works out of my other laptop without and success.
Any ideas? Also the screen does not come on at all just keeps making the beeping sounds.

Thanks for any replies...............

A:Satellite T110-11U wont start up

The beep codes means that an error on motherboard has been detected.
The notebook supports Phoenix BIOS.
You can google for Phoenix BIOS beep codes to check what this could mean.
But generally it?s something with hardware? so possibly you will need a new board.

Hi guys,

I have this model *T110-10x* and I was wondering when should the front LED for Wireless WAN should be blinking or turning on?
This is the model's specifications page:

I have bought a 3G USB modem which is working just fine, but I was just curious if the laptop needs to have an embedded 3G modem, and if so, what is the meaning of the FN key and the LED as this model doesn't have a built-in modem.

A:Satellite T110-10x - Wireless WAN LED not turning on

Hi mate

Please take a look into the User manual which should be preinstalled on the notebook.
There you will find a info that the FN buttons in combination with F1-F12 buttons would enabled some features/options.
Also the Wlan/WAN can be enabled and disabled using the FN button!

>...should the front LED for Wireless WAN should be blinking or turning on
The LED should be ON and it does not flashes...

I have a T110-107.
For security reasons i only turn the wireless LAN on when i require it.

The problem is that sometimes 'something' switches it on, sometimes when i boot up and sometimes while i'm using it.
I use the 'FN' and 'F8' hotkeys to switch my WLAN on and off so there's no possibility that i can do it accidentally.

Can anyone help?.

A:Satellite T110-107 WLAN keeps switching On?

Sometimes something enables WLan???
Strange? as far as I know you can disable the WLan using the FN + F8 button combination.
Be sure that you have disabled this using these keys and ensure that you don?t enable the WLan accidentally pressing these keys.

Hi all,

In traditional fashion, I've joined the forum because I have an issue but was unable to find a helpful solution.

I have a Satellite T110-11U that I purchased years ago while in the UK. As I'm about to upgrade I'm preparing it to give to a friend who currently has nothing.

The original HHD gave out a while ago forcing to fit new and load Win7 64bit independently. I'd like to say I have the reload disks but they never worked!

I've loaded up all the latest drivers but the WLAN driver doesn't work. Toshiba's website says I need an Intel driver (wlesslan-20150928095045) but I'm pretty sure it's a realtech interface.

I've connected the laptop to the internet via the LAN interface and done a search through device manager. Nothing. Still shows up 'other devices'.

Can anyone share a link to the driver I need or offer any handy but not too technical hints as to what I can do.

I love my Satellite T110-107 but there are issues with the TouchPad.

1). The mouse cursor doesn't move at times. With this one I can get it to move by taking both hands away from the laptop for a moment.
2). The mouse cursor suddenly 'shoots' off to the right hand of the screen.

I've tried changing the touchpad sensitivity to both the minimum and the maximum levels, i've adjusted the 'Palm' sensitivity but nothing seems to help other than by making the sensitivity low which helps a little.

I've also noticed that when the laptop is on my lap, the problem is worse than if it's on a table.

I think that it's a problem with a build up of static on the case.

Any other ideas?.

A:Satellite T110-107 - Touchpad not working properly

Hi buddy,

I use Satellite T110 for months now and really and no problem. Everything runs great and I don?t have any problems. It?s really great notebook!!!

So it must be something wrong with yours or installation.
First of all I would recommend updating the touchpad driver. You can download it on the Toshiba website:

After this you should test it again. Check also the touchpad settings again. There are a lot of settings to improve touchpad.

I just would like to know if Toshiba doesn't made the Satellite T110 any more? Because here in spain I don't find it anywhere to buy it.
If it's true that Toshiba don't made it anymore, is there an other toshiba notebook with a size screen between 11" and 12" ? Is just the size that I want.

Kind regards.

A:Satellite T110 Series offer in Spain

Hello Nicolas

T series is pretty old and I can imagine this model will not be offered anymore. If you check Toshiba Europa page or Toshiba Spain page you will see that Toshiba offers second generation of T series. This new model looks much better as old T notebook.

T series notebooks were reworked and now Toshiba offers them in new look, modern design and, I believe, with Win7 as operating system.

Visit Toshiba pages and check these new models.

Is it a common problem with T110 buyers?
Is there a fix PLEASE?

A:Satellite Pro T110 - speaker volume problem

Hi buddy,

I never saw any other forums where people talk about low volume on Satellite T110? I also have this model and the sound volume is ok for this small and ultra portable notebook.

I think you want to increase the volume when watching movies or listen music, right?
Well, in this case I would recommend using VLC media player. In my opinion it?s the best freeware player and using it you can improve volume compared to Windows media player.

Have a look on Google to find it. It?s freeware tool so I don?t think it?s a problem to find. ;)

Could anyone please tell me how I fit a new power port in my Toshiba Satellite T110-121.
My daughters boyfriend was going to replace it, but they have since split up.

A:Power port replacement for Satellite T110-121

The replacement is very, very tricky because you have to disassemble the whole notebook unit.
You have to remove all parts before you will get access to the motherboard and to the DC in cable.

I don?t think you can do this without any step by step instruction and guidelines.

As far as I know and as suggested in this forum, the maintenance manuals are not available for common notebook users. Such manuals are released only for authorized service technicians and I think you will not be able to download such manuals but I think you can search in internet for some useful information and details.

For example you could take a look on irisvista.com website and could look for Satellite T110/T115 series how to disassemble such units.

But such disassembling is your own risk!

Different can be only mainboard and some other hardware components like HDD, Ram WLAN card and so on.

A:Re: Most of times Satellite T110 webcam fails to initialize

Seems that the webcam software stopped working.
I think you should firstly try to reinstall this software.

Remove firstly the webcam software from the system.
Then clean the system and registry using CCleaner!
Reboot the notebook twice and run CCleaner several times to ensure that everything has been cleaned properly.
Then download the webcam software from the Toshiba European driver page and install it.
Then reboot the unit. Start msconfig (in RUN type msconfig) and go to Startup tab.
There you should uncheck mark from the webcam software. This will prevent the software from starting automatically. Reboot the unit.

Now if you would like to use the webcam go to All programs -> Toshiba -> webcam software and start it.

It looks like something would be corrupt in your user account.
Did you try to repair the OS or to clean the registry using CCleaner?

CCleaner is a free tool which cleans the registry and removes garbage from the HDD.
Try this.

Otherwise you can check the msconfig -> Startup tab.
There you should search for some entries containing the imagusud.dll file and could disable or remove this?

Good luck

Hello. I have a toshiba satellite P50-B-10Z laptop with a strange problem.

This problem is not unique to Windows because when I enter the UEFI the behavior is the same as you can see in the video below (always appears the window to save the changes without me clicking on anything).

This behavior disappears when I click on the F5 key but happen again after some time without me having done anything. I've reinstalled Windows and all drivers but the problem continues.

Hello, issue is as follows:

1. My machine [Satellite P50-C-18L] was displaying the Windows-10 desktop, the screen then went black. The machine was plugged in and charged.
2. I pressed keys on the keyboard and the power key to see if it would wake up. It did not.
3. I did a soft power reset by holding the power key until it switched off.
4. I pressed the power key. The white light around the power key comes on. The Cap Lock key and the Num Lock key both show green lights. All these lights are steady and not flashing. If I press the Cap Lock or Num Lock key the lights no not go out.
5. The computer does not boot, it stays on a black screen with these lights on. I have left it for an extended period with no change in state.
6. The above happens either plugged in or on battery. I've tried leaving the machine off for an extended period but when I try to power on I experience the same as step 5.

I can see from online searching that other Satellite models have had similar issues and they have been corrected by pressing a hard reset button. I can not see a hard reset hole on this model.

This means that one of the notebook?s parts is faulty.
You can connect an external monitor to the notebook in order to check if its internal display issue? if something would be visible on the 2nd monitor, then this means that the internal display is faulty and needs to be replaced? otherwise it can be an motherboard/graphic card fault or anything else. Yes, that?s normal and everything is ok with your notebook. Your HDD will be protected by HDD/SSD Alert utility that is a nice feature from Toshiba to avoid head crashes and can enhance the life of internal HDD.
But yoou can disable these notifications if you want. ;)

When I power on my L50-C I get a Black screen with the cap and num lock lights on. Both the cap and num lock keys stayed locked on.

I have removed the ram and it boots the same. Removed battery, tried from AC power still the same. Any ideas?

Hi all. I think I already know the answer but I guess some extra advice won't hurt.

Did some work on my laptop a couple of days ago, when finished I played The Sims 4 for about an hour. Had my laptop on a stand on a tray so it was elevated for air flow etc and fans weren't blocked. Turned it off and a little later I went to go back to my work. Pressed the power button and the power button lights up, I hear the fans kick in bit my screen is complete black. I don't even get the Toshiba logo.

It will be 3 years old in March 2016.

I've tried various things online... Taking the battery out, various button presses, tried an external monitor but nothing is working.

Is all hope lost? Thanks in advance, Emma.

I turned on my brand new Satellite L50-A-1CE for the first yesterday to set it up which worked like a charm. Today, as I tried to turn it on for the second time, the screen would not come on. Although you can hear the processing unit hum and also see the cursor, the screen stays black.

Any ideas on what is wrong and how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks, c

When you start your notebook can you see Toshiba welcome screen or it is black all the time?

It is really not easy to say what is wrong there. Try please to start it and press function key F4 or FN+F4 to make sure it is not set for output to an external monitor.

Hello all,

Yesterday all of a sudden, the laptop screen went blank. Upon turning it on several times, the screen still doesn't turn on. By connecting the monitor to a external monitor via VGA (my TV), the TV does show up the screen, but has several flickering horizontal lines showing, thus obscuring part of the screen (http://i.imgur.com/83RO8xg.jpg - ignore the windows behind, I was testing the sound - and it works).

I have tried several solutions on the web (like removing the battery and AC cable and pressing the power button, and interchanging the RAM card in the slots), and not surprisingly, nothing worked as I think my problem is not similar. Windows 10 just boots to a blue screen with a sad face and a QR code (I don't even know...), while Linux Mint does boot and gives a message of "running without hardware acceleration". I couldn't get any diagnosis on Linux to check if it's a problem on the graphic card or the motherboard, so I am turning to these forums to check if anyone had any similar problem.

Thank you.

I have a just barely 6y/o Toshiba satelliteA135-S4666. Few says ago was working perfectly fine, now the screen footed blank after a few seconds of turning on. It's still running and sometimes i can get the screen back on if i move it back and forth.
That at least gets me to believe maybe a wire is just loose and not the graphics or motherboards. I just need some directions on were to go from here.
