Yoga 910 no wifi connection

Q: Yoga 910 no wifi connection

Hello, I recently bought a yoga 910-13ikb, and since day 1 I cannot get wifi connection, the troubleshooter shows that wifi doesnt have a valid ip configuration, so there's no internet. i've tried with netsh winsock reset catalog, netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt, ipconfig /release , ipconfig /renew., also turning the antivirus and firewall off, I downloaded the latest update fron lenovo's page, and none of them make the wifi work. other laptops and phones work well in the same wlan. can anyone help me with a solution for this problem?. thank you.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, I have installed Windows 10 Home within the last 3-4 months and I have been experiencing several issues. The one of concern is connecting to certain wifi networks. I am able to connect to my hotspot on my phone and certain wireless routers but I am unable to connect my home 5g router, well the 2g connection.I have tried using the following links to solve the problem:https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Yoga-Series-Notebooks/Yoga-2-Pro-Wifi-connection-dropped-connect...and https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-T400-T500-and-newer-T/WiFi-problem-No-internet-DNS-Not-working...  (namely the "ipconfig /flushdns" cmd, which did get the connection to come with 'connected, secured', however I was still unable to use the browser.) I have removed any vpn that I have been using and have updated by network driver via the device manager > network adapter > Intel(R) Wireless - N7260 > update driver software route have made no progress. Can anyone offer any assistance?

Hi, Resolving wifi issues with the Y2P is a hit and miss exercise. But do try the usual suspects.Regarding your home router, in what bands does it work? 2,4ghz, 5ghz, both? Since the 7260N only works in 2.4ghz you can try in the wifi network adapter settings (device manager) forcing the 2.4ghz only (not in auto). And since you?ve got the network card options open, do check if:uAPSD Support - disabled802.11n Channel Width for band 2.4GHz | 20Mhz802.11n Channel Width for band 5.2GHz | 20Mhz802.11n Mode | VHTFat Channel Intolerant | Disabled (allows 40MHz operation)Roaming Aggressiveness | Lowest (disables roaming, see Intel support site)Transmit Power | MediumWireless Mode | 802.11b/gDisable in power option the ?allow Windows to turn off device? Extra option you can do, changing your WLAN settings channel on your router: try changing to channel 1, 6 or 11 (not auto). I noticed a big improvement with a channel forced on my router instead of auto, and this did indeed almost resolved all my issues at home. When away from home I?m still dependent on the provider?s router configuration, so can?t do much about that.

Hi all, I am using a YOGA 92013IKB. Since I have installed this notebook the WiFi is not wirking stable. From time to time I lose connection to available WiFI's. I also tried different ones (home, office). Specaily I am recognize this behaviour when I am connect to external system by Citrix. If I use a cable connection the performance is perfect and stable. I do not get any kind of error message. Right now I am not sure if it is a windows issue (I am using Windows 10 Pro) or hardware / driver issue. All available updates are installed. Hardware is Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4A Wireless Network Adapter. I have also installed Norton Internet Security. RegardsChristian

Hey guys, Purchased a yoga 720 two months ago and in the beginning it would drop the WIFI connection maybe once a week. Over the last few days it's been dropping the WIFI connection every 5minutes or so.  After it drops it'll take some minutes to reconnect again unless I go to device manager and disable/enable the network adaptor. I've already tried updating the driver and no difference.I've already set the power plan for the network adaptor to 'maximum performance' and no difference. Surely there has to be a fix or something I can do?

A:YOGA 720 constantly dropping WIFI connection.

Open up your Event Viewer and see if there are any WLAN errors. If there are a lot of them, then Windows update has probably wrecked something.

If that looks normal, download WiFi Scanner from the Windows store and see if one of your neighbors is interfering. If so, and you have a recent dual-band WiFi router, split the bands into different SSIDs, force the router to sit on a 5Ghz channel where there's no interference and force your 720 to connect to your router's 5GHz side only.

If that's still an issue or you don't have a dual-band router, then start looking for things that interfere with WiFi, such as LED lighting, microwave ovens and so forth.

There's another thread going on this if you want to look at that.

I currently have a Qualcom Wireless AC Card in my Yoga 920. When I change wifi networks, I don't always get the internet going right away (we have 2 networks at home and several different networks in the office). I would need to right click on the wifi icon in the task bar and click on troubleshoot, then wait for it to fix itself. This happens probably 90% of the time when I change networks (ie Home network, then when at the office, I connect to the Work network and have to perform the troubleshoot to get the internet going then vice versa when back home. Or even changing between our 2 different Home networks - as in from different ISPs and not just changing between 2.4 and 5ghz connection). Also, is there something wrong with Chrome for the 920? When I change networks, and get the internet going (as in the wifi icon property says that there is internet and the yellow triangle exclamation is not present anymore), google chrome does not automatically connect to the internet and load pages. Edge, on the other hand, does not have issues upon gaining internet connection after the troubleshoot. For reference, I have a custom built desktop. I have an Intel AC 8265 in it, and it does not have this issue when switching between our home networks and chrome does not any issue as well. So yeah, I have two issues. Any ideas?

Hey guys,  I bought this Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 14 about a month ago, and have had no problems with it until about 3 days ago when the wifi internet got really slow and would cut out with in a minute or two of working. During this time, any time I open the notebook and connect to wifi all other devices in the house won't get internet. I've tried browsing through this forum, but the solutions that seemed to work for others have not worked for me. If anyone has experienced this or knows of a solution please let me know. Thank you!

I've had experience this problem for a while now on my newly built windows 10 rig. Every few hours, my Wifi simply stops working; the connection is lost. Sometimes it reconnects after a minute or so. Most of the time, I would need to manually disable/enable the wifi adapter in my Network Settings to get it back up again.

It happened with a relatively expensive adapter that I bought not to long ago - Netgear A6210 USB 3.0 dual-band wifi adapter. I found a thread about this issue here. I've not been able to resolve it with any of the tips provided (including downloading a generic 3rd party Mediatek driver). I've used this same adapter without this problem on my older Win7 machine. I thought maybe this adapter "went bad".

So I tried to replace this adapter with an older Wifi adapter made by Rosewill, using older Rosewill drivers. The same issue occurs. (Again, this Rosewill adapter worked perfectly in my Win7 system) So I have a hunch the problem is Windows 10 itself. Does it not place nicely with existing or older wifi adapters on the market? Would I need to buy a new adapter specifically certified for Windows 10?

Anyone have any insights on this would be greatly appreciated.

Although I am connected to our wireless network on the Folio 13, there is no internet connection. I can, however, connect to the internet via Wifi on two other household laptops, both of them HP, so I believe the problem is with the Folio itself. I can also connect to other computers on the network on the Folio, but something is preventing it from getting on the internet. I can only get the internet via hardwired ethernet connection on the Folio. I have tried the following fixes, multiple times, without success: -Run the Windows troubleshooter for Internet/Network. It says the connection between your access point, router, or cable modem and the internet is broken. (But not on other wifi computers here--works fine.)-Reboot/Reset the modem.-Disable/Renable the wifi adapter (Intel Centrino Wireless N 1030)-Update wifi adapter driver (it says driver is up to date)-Uninstall/reinstall wifi adapter-Remove Wifi Network from list of available networks; reboot, add this network back in-Roll back all Windows updates from the past month-Searched self-help forums for a possible solution And yes, the wifi keyboard light is blue, not orange. Can someone help please?

Hi,I have a new Aspire ES 13 (ES1-331-P4C1) with Windows 10. I can connect to my wifi-router and access the internet, but the connection randomly drops after a couple of minutes. I can reconnect (sometimes), after running the windows troubleshooter. The wifi-chip is a broadcom BCM43142. It seems, that there's an issue with the driver and/or Windows 10. Wifi works perfectly on Ubuntu-Linux booted from USB. Here's what I've already tried:- reboot of router- turn off all the energy-saving stuff in the device-manager- uninstall old drivers- install new drivers from the Acer site- install all windows updates- install driver in compatibility-mode (windows 7)- reset windows 10 (delete everything and reinstall windows from recovery) The question really is, if this is a known problem with the driver or the OS. If so, then I could install Windows 7. But I'm very close to sending the laptop back, because I really don't want to waste my time fixing a newly bought, preconfigured laptop. Thanks in advance

I had similar problem with ES15.  It started by dropping wifi after about one hour of use, then got worse...Also was plagued with the infamous "red x" over the network icon down in tray at bottom. After slight improvement when I updated the firmware (it was out of date), problem degraded to point that I could not connect at all, even with re-booting. Finally, even no internet with ethernet!   Problem finally solved by doing the following: press "control/alt/delete" all at once, select "Task Manager",click "Services Tab" at top, click "status" tab on line just below the tabs: this will re-sort the services alphabetically together according to their status's (ie running, stopped)...click again on status until all the services in the top  of the list you are seeing all say "stopped". Carefully begin going down the list top to end of services that are stopped, any stopped service that contains a reference to network, connection, connectivity, discovery,x-box,wireless, LAN, WAN, homegroup,:click on it (memorize the service name), right click on it: select "open services" find that service in the alphabetical list,(notice the descriptions here are very detailed now) RIGHT CLICK IT, select "Properties" select "Start", If startup type is not "Automatic", select "Automatic", click apply. Go back to the previous services page, continue down the list from previous service (that you just changed) and find the next one, repeat above steps. It may be fast... I have my LAN setup:
ADSL modem ->Router->Compute*r A , Computer B (wireless)

My laptop connects fine... but all of a sudden it just stops connecting to the internet. However the connection has a strong signal and still says it is connected...but it just lags and doesnt connect. Then it'll come back for little while. Sometimes I'll repair the wireless connection and it works again but only for a few minutes.

But here's a spooky thing....all this doesn't happen when i unplug my AC! that's right I'll have it plugged in to the power outlet, and wifi comes and goes...as soon as i unplug it and it runs on battery...the internet works fine...yikes

A:Solved: wifi connection coming and going..but LAN connection is fine

I can't see your exact positioning, but it sounds like you need to move your "brick" so that it is not interfering with the wireless signal when plugged in. When I forget, and start getting the same thing, I move mine at least a foot away from the wireless adaptor and out of the path to the router.

Dear all,
I generally have good WiFI connection, but in two rooms so I am running a TP-Link system for Wifi through my powernet, which provides me with WiFI in our working space. No problems here.
I have been noticing that on my laptop, when I sit in the living space, my internet connection is dropping WITHOUT losing connection to the WiFi network. This makes me reset my adapter but mostly without succes. Sometimes it spontaneously regains internet connectivity. This happens at random (to me). My cell phone doesn't have the same problem, nor does my GF's computer.
I notice that when i go back to the workspace (where wifi is distributed through my TP-link), more often then not I instantly regain connection. Which makes me think this is a problem of IP adress that is different when switching from Wifi through router and Wifi through TP-link?

Here is the runout for my ipconfig /all and

What the hell is going on?

It does have a connection, every now and then it may drop but not really.

On the icon in the bottom right corner if I just hover the mouse over the wifi icon it is normal, name of connection and internet access. If I click the icon the purple box pops up on the right and it says The connection is limited.

I have tried rollback, installing an updated driver from Lenovo support, Disable bluetooth and a couple other.

Wifi works on every computer. Just this 8.1 it does not.

Whenever I restart the computer it forgets the password, I have to re enter the password every time even though I have connect automatically checked.

Hello, I have a X1 Yoga 1st gen bought around 1 year back. It had a fan problem which finally solved only after a replacement of the fan. I received my laptop yesterday and since then the WiFi doesnt work anymore. It worked prefectly before I gave it for repair. It doesn't connect at all OR if I put it right next to the router, it picks up an extremely weak signal that is of no use. I have tried updating the drivers to the latest one (from Lenovo support website, ver 20.3). But this hasnt resolved the issue. Could you please tell me how to fix this? It is annoying to buy something worth $3000 that has all kinds of problems from the get go! First the fan and now the WiFi. Thanks!

Hey, So I bought the new 700 yoga with the core i7 this past week. I had some issues with the wifi and have been scouring the internet and can not find a fix for the incredibly slow wifi. My internet is fios with 40 up and down and can get that speed on my lenovo thinkpad, y series laptop, and cell phone. But this the only laptop that has windows 10 installed and when i run either speedtest.net or the internet health test this laptop will not get anything close to that. I have installed all the windows update and disabled the peer to peer update and every information sharing option in the settings. The speeds i can get in the first minute of turning on the laptop is 8 down and 20ish up. After one or two minutes the down and upload speeds drop to 0.1mbps down and up and it will time out the internet constantly. Anyone else having issues like this? I called the tech support line and since I am getting some wifi connection the support service said it is not a hardware issue and is a software issue but for the support i would have to pay to on a laptop i had less than a week.Any help would be great.

I tried to find a solution throughout this forum (and the rest of the internet....), but so far I couldn't find anything that directly relates to my problem (or solves it). The problem is as follows:Basically the WiFi is quite unstable. Every once in a while it just looses the connection, despite being directly next to the router. It then says "limited connection" and the only way to make it work again is to either reboot, or click "troubleshooting" on the WiFi symbol, which then basically resets the adapter. I already tried to solve the issue by applying all Windows 10 updates, and by trying to install a new driver (this worked previously for my ThinkPad Yoga 2, which had similar problems at the beginning). So far, no success. The curious thing about the driver is, that when I go to the lenovo support page and let the website determine what kind of laptop I have, to automatically show me all available drivers, it shows me drivers for a WiFi adapter that I don't have... It successfully determines that my Yoga 500 is a 15IBD, but the drivers that it shows me for download are either for an Intel WLan adapter, or for a CyberTan/Liteon. But I have a Broadcom 802.11ac device installed. Why is that? Shouldn't lenovo know what they built in? I also tried to disallow Windows from shutting down the WiFi adapter to save power, but this didn't work either. In addition, I also tried ... Read more

Hi Manuel, and welcome to the forum.

Apparently, the LiteOn driver is intended for Broadcom WLAN hardware. It's now been renamed to Broadcom to make it clearer to everybody. Try installing that driver and let us know how you get on.

Hi,I bought a Yoga 500 approx 9 months ago. After two months the wifi suddenly ceased working completely - I received the error message "Not connected - no connections available". I tried basic troubleshooting, but in the end I was forced to leave it in for service.  I got it back after a few weeks, and it has subsequently worked fine - until 2 weeks ago, when I received the same error message. I am not able to connect to the internet through wifi at all, and  have tried basic troubleshooting. Anyone expereinced this problem? I hate to leave it again for service... Thanks for any help. BrTrond

Hi,Just picked up a yoga 720 the other day and am finding the wifi drops out on all mobile devices when using the laptop. I have to reboot the modem (TP LINK Archer D7) which usually lasts another 2-15mins before drops out again. I've tried updating laptop drivers and modem firmware but no luck. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix?Tim

My yoga will connect to my wifi network only once. I then need to reboot my wifi router. No other devices in the house have this problem and the network is always still active. I get two messages and not sure why I get one and not the other. The messages basically say either network not available (but it is) or that something has changes and it asks for the network password but then wont connect either. My network adapter is Realtek RTL8723AU. I have made sure all drivers are up to date, tried changing power saving options so they dont turn off adapter.  Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Let me start by saying I've tried everything that everyone has recommended to fix this issue. I can hardly ever connect to my router, when it does it says no internet connection. It will only connect when I'm right next to the router, and even then the speeds are miniscule, 2-5 Mbps when I get over 200 Mbps with my Galaxy S7 in the same place. The issue occurs on 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. Drivers are up to date.Wifi card is set to not turn off in Device Manager.Network card is set to max performance in Power settings.I have tried a factory reset of Windows 10.I have tried changing the channel on my router's 2.4 GHz band.I have checked the wifi card itself, as well as the antennas by a shop. They said the antennas look fine and are connected.I have uninstalled literally all bloatware that was on the device from factory.I have tried everything except replacing the WiFi card itself. The wifi card is Qualcomm Atheros QCNFA34AC. I'm not sure when it started but it has been happening for a while, I don't use my laptop that frequently. It could have happened after upgrading to Windows 10 from 8.1. In the mean time I have been using an ASUS Wifi USB adapter that works flawlessly, gets 100+ Mbps from the other side of my apartment from the router.

Longshot you may have already tried: set the wifi card's channel width to 20MHz, or if it's already set that way try "auto" or the other possibilities.

I've seen the "connected but no internet" problem and worked around it this way.  Unlikely if it was working previously but easy to try.

MY yoga 900 arrived yesterday and I haven't been able to connect to WFI for more then few minutes before experiencing heavy drop outs. Not only that, but it is  interfering with all other devices connected to the same wifi and I loose signal on all devices(MY phone and my wife laptop). The only way to get back the connection on those devices is to power down  the yoga completely. It is the first time I experience this kind of interference. I suspected the problem was a compatibility issue between my router and the yoga. So I took the yoga to the office today and the same things happened!?!! All devices in the office lost the WIFI  unless I turn off the machine.... Any help? Thanks!

K, I found that if i go to intel WIFI adapter settings and I choose 802.11 b things works well except I get slow connection. However I just noticed a new problem: the touchpad is freezing for few secs from time to time and I can't move the pointer.

I have a Yoga 2 Pro Ultrabook.  The computer was on but the Wifi was not on.  I was shutting down when the message came up that "Updates are Loading - don't turn off your computer" and supposedly loaded 1 of the updates.  Then after a while when the computer realized it wasn't connected to Wifi and couldn't load the balance of updates, I received this message on the screen "We couldn't complete the updates Undoing changes Don't turn off your computer".  I waited hours and nothing - the screen is frozen with this message and I can't do anything with the computer now?   What should I do?
