Internal Error 601 while battery is working fine

Q: Internal Error 601 while battery is working fine

Hi, Since a couple of months I have had an issue with my pavilion laptop. When I start the laptop I get once in a while an Internal Error 601 which states I have to replace my battery. When windows has started, windows shows an issue with the accu and shows error messages like : ''Plugged in, not charging'' and a batterypercentage of 0%. Actually I can work with the laptop for hours, the only problem is when my laptop shuts down because Windows thinks the battery is empty. When I plug in the adapter, reboot the system and unplug the adapter the battery continues to work (but still shows the errors).Sometimes I don't get the internal error at all and windows shows perfectly the remaining power left within the battery, but when connecting the adapter or when the accu is fully charged, the computer shuts down and when rebooting the internal error comes again. I did run the HP System Diagnostics Battery Test twice (once while showing the internal error and once while everything works fine), the first time it shows I have to replace the battery, the second time it states: ''The battery is working fine'' and shows a capacity of 80%. I really don't know how to fix this issue, replacing the battery is quite expensive and I don't know if the battery is really damaged. It just charges and delivers power to my computer and except for the shutdowns and errors it seems to work perfectly. Are there any solutions to this, or is replacing the battery the only solution? Thank you for your help,

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

After a round of Windows updates, I went to turn on my laptop and recieved the "Primary internal battery (601)" error.  After this screen, however, Windows would not load.  I have tried taking the battery out and 'draining the charge',  and starting up the computer plugged directly to AC with no battery.  Windows still does not load.  The start-up test in the diagnostics menu said the battery needed calibration, however when I go to run the battery test, it gets to "waiting for battery to charge" and exits out of the test without giving me any results at all.  Currently when turning on the computer I no longer get the "primary internal battery" error, it just goes directly to a black screen with blinking cursor.  Any help is appreciated, I'm completely at a loss here!

Hello!I have a Thinkpad T470 that came originally without the internal battery, having in its place a dummy. So my computer used to show only one battery (the external one).I recently decided to install an internal battery as well. The problem is that my laptop doesn't seem to recognise it completely: it shows two batteries, but the internal one is "unrecognized" and always showing 0% charge, both under Windows and Debian. Nonetheless, it works: I tried booting up the laptop after unplugging it and removing the external battery, and everything went just fine. Bios and every other Lenovo-related software is up to date. Has somebody else experienced the same problem? Do you have any idea as to what may be causing this?

I have received the dreaded 601 error before my start-up process.  I ran the battery check through the operating systems' diagnostics (F2) and it said it would need replaced due to use over time.  I also ran the battery charge check through HP Support Assistant and it said that it was very weak and possibly needed replaced.   How do I replace my internal battery?  The website that HP Support Assistant took me to only had the external batteries available.

A:Internal Battery Error (601)

Can we have your full model number? I think the error you are seeing refers to the "main", large battery and not the little clock or CMOS battery. Is your system closed so that the battery is not easily removeable? The full model number will point us to the right service manual which will show the part you need and the replacement process. Also need to know what country you live in.  http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c00033108

It would help to know your laptop model. But I would say the "internal" is the CMOS or Real Time Clock battery. That is why I ask your model because it is unusual to see one of those die in less than 5 years. The model of the laptop would also allow us to show you how to replace the internal battery. It can be quite a job although the little battery (like a hearing aid battery) is very inexpensive usually.

Hi there,  I've been trying to find the solution on my own but I'm just out of my depth here.  When I turn on my laptop I get a black screen that tells me there is a 601 error with my internal battery. I'd like to purchase another battery and replace it because I need my laptop working perfectly for the bar exam in July 2016. Is this something I can do myself or should I take it to a shop? I think this is the battery I need: 6 cell 62WHr 2.8 Ah lithium-ion battery Can someone confirm that? Also, I'm not sure what the internal batter is. There's a battery that I can eject from the bottom of my laptop. The Regulatory Model Number is HSTNN-LB3N and it's a rechargeable Li-ion battery. It also says to change with HP spare 671731-01. Is this a different battery than the 6 cell one I mention above?  I'd greatly appreciate the help! Thank you in advance!

A:Internal Battery Error: 601 on HP 15-u010dx 360 laptop

Hi, The 601 error is actually a little misleading - it actually refers to your notebooks main lithium ion battery and not the rtc ( cmos ) cell on the system board as it seems to suggest.  It generally starts to appear when the LiOH battery charge capacity has fallen below 25% of its original value.  Further details on this can be found on the following HP Document. http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01443470 The battery will be covered under the same term as your notebook, so just contact HP and arrange to have it replaced  - if needed, you can check your warranty status Here. If you live in the US, contact HP Here. If you are in another part of the world, start Here. Regards, DP-K

Could you also check the manufacture dates on a couple of examples in case they may be newer than the firmware updater and therefore not recognized by it and also, it would be helpful, if you could let us know the BIOS version from an example of each MT which is presenting you with the error please?

Uhg. So hello folks. So I was using my laptop this morning and ran into an issue - it bluescreen'd and immediatly shut down. Trying to boot it up yeilded what I came to know as one of the most annoying errors I have experianced in my entire life - error 2100, proclaiming that there is a read error in my drive.  Now, this is something I have been working on trying to fix for the last 4 hours or so with little success. Unlike other posters, I have mounted the same drive on another PC and the files were all there and it mounted without a hitch. Now, I have yet to attempt to boot from it, but at least I know the drive is not the problem. So I have cleaned the contacts, checked the connection from the controller to the mother board, and nothing seems to work. The only solution that I have yet to try is to update the firmware, but there is a very obvious problem with that - the only non-onboard way to do that is by disc - which sucks, because the Thinkpad Yoga 12 does not have a disc drive. I really do need this laptop to work as soon as possible, and it is upsetting to me that a laptop that is only around a year old is already starting to fail.  If anyone has any insight to offer, I would be most grateful.

I am running Windows 8.1 on an HP Envy Laptop. I have a wireless HP 6500A Plus printer. I have been using this setup successfully for a couple of years.

The last 4 or 5 times I have printed (over the last 2 or 3 weeks), I have gotten an on-screen "printer offline" popup, but the printer begins printing almost simultaneously. The popup goes away, and when the print job is finished, I get another popup which tells me there was a printer error and the document was not able to print. But it did print! This happens no matter how long the printer and laptop have been turned on.

This occurs every time, but it never occurred at all before 2 or 3 weeks ago, and I can't think of a thing I have changed. Since the popups go away and the printer prints, I guess this is more of an annoyance than a real problem, but something ain't right.

I have not contacted HP because past experience with them seems to always result in a communication problem, and it takes being referred to 2 or 3 people to ever reach a solution. I thought I would try this forum first. Any suggestions?

Hoping this problem will be noticed by more people, the original post on this issue came from:https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Linux-Discussion/T470-Linux-Power-Bridge-wrong-discharge-order/td-p/365...https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/comments/63odjr/t470_battery_order_question_internal_discharges/ Brief description: same problem with OS including Win 10, Ubuntu 16.04, Gentoo etc. The internal battery always gets discharged first regardless its remaining power, which is generally harmless but seems not so good for the internal battery life. With my own T470 machine, updated with the latest 1.29 BIOS, this problem remains. According to searching results online, this little bug came with early versions of X's and T' including T460. PS: this issue had been successfully fixed with T460 via BIOS update 1.26, hoping it would be fixed with T470 sooner or later. Best regards.

Hi everyone, Title says it all, I know this topic of discharging internal battery first has been brought up a lot, and that the reason behind it is this: The T470s are designed to drain the battery with least wear first so as to degrade both batteries equally and prolong the laptop's overall battery life. However, as I'm using a new 61++ battery, clearly somethig is going wrong somewhere as the year old internal battery cannot be in better condition than the brand new external.https://gyazo.com/6c12f3f40514599d04d852a8589189ab Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi guys, a few warnings first:
this is my first post
I'm using another computer than my own
I speak spanish as mother tongue (& of course my OS is in spanish)

Now the problem:
I was obviously infected with some sort of virus/malware, and lost my internet connection after I got redirected from google searches, etc. After I lost my connection, I tried everything I could find as an answer, I even installed a new ethernet card into my motherboard, but nothing. Hey,

I've been doing some online gaming (world of warcraft), and I kept getting these Error#131 issues. This would cause the game files to become corrupted and then I would have to repair, or reinstall. The WoW tech site says that chronic error #131 messages are either a Hard drive, Ram, or Motherboard issue.

Running the Windows Vista memory diagnostic tool has turned up some odd results, the initial test with a 1gb stick in slot #1 and a 1gb stick in slot #2 came back with errors. I then removed the ram from slot 2 and ran the test on slot 1 with 1 stick of ram.... no errors. I did the same with the other stick in slot 1.....no errors. this lead me to believe that it was slot#2 giving me the issue so I moved the ram from slot 2 to slot 3, thus having 1gb of ram in slot 1 and 1gb of ram in slot 3. After a little while......error#131 appeared.

So I then tested both sticks in slots 1 and 3 together and came back with ram errors, I then tested both sticks in slot #1, and then again in slot #2 and both tests came back fine. Any ideas on what this issue could be? I know both sticks are the same brand, speed, totally identical.

I ran a couple of spyware scanners and my AntiVir scanner, but after eliminating what they found, I can't get on the internet anymore. When I try to repair the connection, it immediately pops up with a box saying something like "windows cannot continue repairing... failed to query tcp/ip." I've tried numerous things but they haven't done anything. It says the connection is connected even though the internet isn't working. I also had to reinstall winlogon32.exe and winlogon86.exe because my computer wouldn't log on (it would begin to log on but then immediately log off again). Also, I tried to use System Restore, but the restore points must be corrupted or something because each time I try to restore to an earlier time, the system restore says "installation incomplete," so I guess that is out of the picture? I am able to make new restore points I just can't restore to the points.I get this when doing any ipconfig commands in cmd:"Windows IP ConfigurationAn internal error occurred: The request is not supported. Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services for further help.Additional information: Unable to query host name."There is a yellow exclamation point by the TCP/IP Protocol driver in Device Manager.I also tried the method described here http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/faile...ml&hl=ipconfig to rename tcpip.sys to tcpip.sys_old but my computer didn't give a warning like it did for the guy who talked about this... Tonight I replaced the internal battery in my X240 for the second time.  The first battery, purchased on eBay, worked well for about 10 months; after that, the machine (i5/Win10) started to report that the battery was not found, and would die when the external was exhausted. So, I figured, might as well try again. I just finished the replacement (always remember to shut off the internal battery through the BIOS before doing this!) and all seems well.  The internal battery is charging and, in spite of its official manufacture date sometime in 2013, it's on its first cycle. The battery I removed--the one that had worked for 10 months?  On closer inspection it had a new label pasted on over an old label (see photo).   The new label did not have the Lenovo name on it; the old label did.  This leads me to suspect that the battery was a "reconditioned" (or possibly rebuilt) battery originally manufactured by Lenovo, but just with a new label pasted on. Interestingly, the capacity on the old label reads "min. 1930 mAh," while the new label reads "1910 mAh."  Different cells, or just random errors in labeling? The battery I just purchased (yes, off eBay, I'm cheap) and installed was labeled as Lenovo and carried a correct date of manufacture (that is, the printed date lines up with the date that Vantage reports from the electronics). Conclusions?  I don't really know.  I'll have to see if the new internal solv... Hello Community, My THinkpad T410, Type 2912-45G, Windows 7 (64bit) has a problem with the speakers. Starting last monday (June 25th) my speakers stop working. When I boot the TP you can hear a static click through the speakers and it plays the windows sound for one second only. After the second you can hear another static click and the speaker stops working. Thats pretty much the way it is with all other audio content, when the TP is booted. After pressing the Mute-Button or the volume-up or volume-down buttons the speakers will resume working for a second or so (still the static click, right before this second and afterward). When I plug in my Headpones everything works fine. When I unplug my headphones, speakers do work again for another second. I allready updated my BIOS, installed and uninstalled the driver, activated the sound-card (CONEXANT 20585 HD AUDIO), tried to update the driver. But nothing worked so far. I allready checked whether the switch in the headphone jack is stuck, but I couldn't find anything. Did anyone experience the same or a similar problem? As the speakers do work for the mentioned second I assume, that the Hardware should be fine. As the headphones work properly the sound-card should be detected and istalled correctly. I would really appreciate if someone could help me out on this. Sending the TP in (it is still whitin warranty) is going to be my last option since I need the TP for work. Thank you very much.... Read more

hello!

right now, my D: internal hard drive is detected in BIOS. it is properly identified in disk management by its name, size and type. I can access files and programs on the drive for some time. but after a while, I get errors like this:

D:\ /*FOLDER NAME or EXE*/ is not accessible.
The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.

or

D:\ /*FOLDER NAME or EXE*/ is not a valid win32 application.

when this happens, I am not able to access files or programs installed on the drive. the drive does not appear in disk management. in intel rapid storage, it appears as 0GB sata disk. if I RESTART my computer, the disk is not detected in BIOS. however... if I completely POWER OFF my computer, the disk IS detected in BIOS, properly identified in disk management, files and programs available.... back to square one!

Hi,
I have an odd situation whereby I can access http://internal.mywebsite.com from any browser, but HTTPS doesn't work on older computers (2003) when using IE. If I use Chrome from the same computer, it works fine.
The SSL certificate is from out root CA and is trusted by all clients.
The only non standard thing about the website is that it uses a NetScaler for SSL offloading so that:
Browser HTTPS ---> NetScaler SSL offloads --> HTTP back to website
The error within IE 8 is a generic "page cannot be displayed".
How can I troubleshoot this?
Thanks

Hello, Laptop: Lenovo ThinkPad T470 UltrabookType: 20HD I usually do not have my laptop's battery installed when it is plugged with the AC adapter as I use it mainly at home. But today, while I was out, I inserted it (while the laptop was off) and I received the following error message: "Battery 2: A battery error has occurred. The battery cannot be charged. Replace the battery." I've had this laptop for only a year, and everything is up to date. I only take out and put in the battery when the laptop is turned off. According to the battery percentage, it's stuck at 49% and says it's not charging. 49% Not ChargingBattery 1: 100% and fully chargedBattery 2: 0% and not charging I tried checking the battery in Lenovo Vantage, but it just keeps showing the loading animation, but with no info. Does this really mean the battery needs to be replaced (already)? Could it be a software issue? Thanks.

An issue I've been having for a while is my battery bar no longer appearing.
My battery bar worked for several months, from the time I installed a Windows 7 partition on my laptop, but all of a sudden it just went and disappeared. In the customize notifications/settings window, I can't check to show Battery Life, it's grayed out. I tried all sorts of registry fixes for this and went into the registry, but nothing fixed it. I also tried third-party battery monitoring software and none of that worked as well.

Anyone have a fix for this? I resorted to using Windows 8 (upgraded to 10) and I'm having issues with that as well, so I'm trying to get the battery issue fixed and just use Windows 7 again.

Any solutions are welcome.

A:Battery Bar No Longer Appearing, used to be fine.

From what you said, it's 2 partitions on your computer? If so, what's the Main OS, it may be something there causing the problem.

Acer E 15 Start ES1-512-C5YW Upgraded to Windows  Watching Avi files that are stored locally on hard disk - If the Ac power cord is plugged in, all is fine, but if power cord is removed and just running on battery power, within minutes, the laptop locks up completely and makes a buzzing noise, no option but to hard reset. Simple solution would be to leave power cord plugged in I know, but I like to keep my battery conditioned by not leaving it plugged in all the time. If it had a removable battery, I'd remove the battery and use power cord, but it's not got removable battery. Any ideas please?
