I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A:Is intel 82865g graphics controller good for gaming?

Woooooohhhh, that's some old tech lol.

Can't imagine you would be getting awfully good frame rates with something like that. However, it should be alright to record using fraps, just give it a go (fraps is free) and see if it works.

I have windows XP Home edition with a Dell Dimension 3000 desktop, and I have been having a problem with the Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller driver, it won't update. I downloaded an alternate driver updater (drivermax) to see if that would work, but after I downloaded, there were a lot of errors so I rolled back. I went to the intel website to download it manually, but the downloads are not what I need. I looked all over for an alternate mirror or anything that I could download it from, but I couldn't. I suppose I don't need the driver as everything is working fine as is, but I would like it. Thanks.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate (Build 7000) on an lenovo pc (Intel Pentium 4 - 2.8GHz, 2.00 GB RAM). my pc's actual graphics card is "Intel 82865G Graphics Controller" but windows 7 loads it as "standard VGA graphics card" which gives me a very very bad video quality but computer works great. HOWEVER,when i update video graphics back to my "Intel 82865G Graphics Controller" & play any video, the video quality is excellent & direct 3d & hardware acceleration starts working contrary to "standard VGA graphics card" but gives major computer operation problems. For e.g., As soon as i resize my VLC interface or run any other media players (like powerdvd or windows media players etc), the computer either gets stuck/hung or it shows a blue screen message saying "disable bios memory such as caching or shadowing" OR "page_fault_in_nonpaged_area" & lots of other explorer based problems.i tried changing various 3d settings in opengl as well, but in vain.

CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS??

Well, I just installed the RC of Windows 7 yesterday, I quad-booted it with XP, 98 (its gangster), and Ubuntu. I am already running into some problems.

I have a Dell Optiplex GX270, which has an Intel Integrated Graphics 82865G graphics card. When I got everything set up, I went to change the resolution, and it was stuck at 640x480, and I couldn't change it. I have tried countless drivers, but nothing has helped. Anybody have any help?

By the way, I used Vista for like a day or two, and my graphics card worked fine, but I went back to XP, so I don't really know about how it works on Vista.

A:Intel Integrated Graphics 82865G Help

Tried loads of suggestions with no luck then read this simple solution on a blog.

Went to BIOS on start up and adjusted Video card buffer from 1MB to 8MB, very painless. Gave me back all the configurations for screen display and resolution etc. Oh what joy!!

I have a 3.0 GHz Pentium 4 motherboard with an onboard Intel 82865G graphics chip (circa 2005). Is this going to be faster than a 128MB AGP card based on the nVidia FX 5200 chip (circa 2003)? If you have any pointers to a review, that would also be appreciated. Thanks.

i think your problem is your graphics chip. that card is having a hard time. integrated cards always sucked when it came to gaming. so i would suggest finding a new graphics card for your pc if you want to play games like those. the computer itself may be too old in terms of what slots it has. so you may need to scrap it and get a new one, or find a video card that will fit and give you the performance boost you need, and use that for a while.

It looks like the Intel 82865G ( version 14.17.0.4396) drivers from September 29, 2005
are the most current available. In general, integrated video cards (built onto the motherboard)
are only for very light gaming with older games and at lower video settings.

If Intel no longer provides driver support for that integrated chipset, you can purchase a separate video card.

Your computer seems to meet the minimum requirements.

When you purchase a video card, it will usually state whether or not it supports the Vista Aero feature. Just for reference, here is the list of minimum requirements for the video card that you can check prior to the purchase.
It must have a minimum of 128 megabytes (MB) of graphics memory. (More is better)
It must support a Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) driver. It must have a DirectX 9-class graphics processor unit (GPU) that supports Pixel Shader 2.0. It must support 32 bits per pixel.

The computer's display settings must be set to 32-bit color.

Recently, a certain family member of mine accidentally uninstalled our Intel(R) 82865G Graphics controller. I did not realize what they had done until I logged on to the computer and everything was very big. In fact, the pixels on the display menu of the control panel would not even move.

So I got on to the internet and found that I needed to reinstall this driver. I have tried numerous times to reinstall this driver or graphics controller (sorry I am not up-to-date on computer terms) and I have had no success. The Intel site is a joke when it comes to technical support. I have searched through their support base and I am coming up with nothing.

In the device manager, under Display adapters, there is a yellow ! sign next to the Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller. I try to update it and there is always an error. Also, when I think I uninstall the graphics controller and reboot, a yellow bubble in the right hand side of my screen pops up and says that new hardware was found. I thought I had fixed the issue, but as soon as I go to play the Sims 2 game it crashes. The warning says something along the lines of a driver being in an infinite loop.

Does anyone know why I am unable to update the latest driver? I feel like I am at a dead-end with this darn thing. Can anyone help?

A:Intel(R) 82865G Update Issues

Good Afternoon Norreb01, sometimes these kinds of problems need to be addressed by removing all traces of the previous driver.
You may be aware remnants of a corrupted previous driver may remain in the database.

You need to identify your video card manufacturer, then check their site for a driver removal tool for the applicable situation.
Ensure everything is proper and the machine at least boots normally in Safe mode. (hit F8 at boot in needed.)

When you are happy the machine still operates (in low res, screen size) you should then be able to introduce a proper driver for that card using it's install method.

Sometimes the latest drivers may not be the best.

Worth a try.

Cheers, qldit.

Call of duty, Doom3 ete stuff like that would be nice to play.

System bought for me at an on-line auction so I can't complain too much. (I'm Poor!)

Would I have a problem replacing card in a desktop box with the on board card still in place?

Ok, i don't know which forum this would be better posted in: hardware or games... but heres my problem:

I'm borrowing a computer for the time being so i can finish the one i'm working on. I've been playing WoW on this computer and everything has been fine. No problem with the graphics what so ever. I decided to find an in-game video recording program so i can record special events which would be cool to post online or w/e. So i was having problems with that and i was informed that my graphics driver was outdated (I never updated it). So i went to Intel's website and downloaded the latest and only driver there is for it. Now WoW is really messed up. Icons are gone, graphics are being all weird... and worst of all, the memory is dumped whenever i do certain things... Here are 2 examples that have resulted in a crash: completion of a quest and clicking on another tab inside the talent tree window... other random things also create a crash... I've had more crashes than i can count on my hands. All video settings in-game are turned all the way down or off (if applicable). Refresh rate is turned down to 60Hz. I've tried playing in windowed mode and not... tried playing with different dimensions... true color, high color... The only thing that made a little difference was the refresh rate. I tried rolling back the driver but it only rolls back to the same one. I might have reinstalled because i didn't know if it worked or what not since i... Read more

what file type is the movie .avi, wmv etc..

Well, anyway.
More than likely you need a codec to play the file

if you are using vista
http://www.free-codecs.com/Vista_Codec_Package_download.htm

if you are using XP
http://www.free-codecs.com/XP_Codec_Pack_download.htm

download which codec pack matches your system and install using all the default settings it offers, with these codecs you will be able to play all your video and audio files without a problem

I have a Gateway Solo 1450 with Intel 830M graphics controller which is supposed to have the TV-Out function. I hooked up a VGA converter to a S-Video cable and put that input into my tv. I adjusted the display of the graphics to allowing my notebook to be placed on the other "monitor." In the Intel directions, it says to go into the Graphics Properties and select "TV". However, even with the tv connected I don't see this icon. So I chose the multiple monitors option and allowed my notebook to be seen on the other monitor which is really the tv. I tried it on 2 tv's both on the s-video channel. However, neither has a usable signal and remains blank. One of my tv's picture did jiggle around a slight bit when I adjusted things on the settings portion but there was no picture besides a blue screen. I've tried every setting I can imagine to change on the computer and the tv. I know my s-video cable works and the adapter is new so I don't think it's that. Hi,

I just bought a new Dell Inspiron 660-4858. Service tag-number JPYXD5J. It originally came with W7, but I installed Vista Ultimate x64 on it. Now there are several drivers not working (when looking in device manager). I managed to solve most of them but there are still two I can not solve:

1. Network Controller. On Dell's website there are only drivers for W7 when looking up this device. According to the UKD ("UnknownDevices") software, the details for this device are:
Atheros Communications Inc
Dell Computer Corp
However, on Dell's website it appears to call the WLAN adapter (which I assume this 'network controller' is?) Dell DW1506 WLAN 802.11 b/g/n . Version of that driver is 9.2.0.484, A01, but it's only for Windows 7.
Any suggestions how I should find the latest driver for this device, for Vista??

2. Intel(R) HD Graphics Family (Dell's driver site calls it "Intel Graphics Controller" and "Intel UMA driver"). I actually did download drivers for this, supposedly for Vista. I'm having trouble installing the drivers for a Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller in Windows 7 on a Gateway/Motion Computing M1300 tablet.

Before you say "DriverMax" please note that Windows 7 is the only operating system installed on the tablet. I hope there's another way to get it working.

Here's the thing that strikes me as odd: I have gotten it to work perfectly, but as soon as I restart it goes back to its old ways (default VGA controller driver, etc).

Here's what I do to get it working:

1) I run the setup file that came with the driver I downloaded from Intel (version 14.19.50), either natively or in Windows XP compatibility mode,
2) The setup software asks me to restart, and I comply

When the computer boots back up after those steps everything is working just fine, BUT then a Windows prompt appears telling me that I need to restart in order to complete the driver configuration. When I restart hardware once again has trouble.

Here are some screenshots that took while the driver was working correctly:

Why does it say that it will uninstall the drivers when restarted?

And here are some screenshots taken while the driver is NOT working correctly:

My real problem with not having the correct driver installed is not that display functions are lost (though they are), but that the Hibernate and Stand By modes are disabled.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a way to keep Windows 7... Read more

A:Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller Driver Issues

I have this problem too. Because it defaults back to "standard VGA" when I watch video it is very "liney", in other words, not the full shilling.

No matter what I do I simply cannot convince Win7 that my driver, (exported using Drivermax), is the correct one and that is the one I want Win7 to use.

Win7 is a pesky little blighter!

After clean installing Windows 10 version 1607 build 14393  I got the following in the updates history :
Intel - Other hardware - Intel(R) 8 Series SMBus Controller - 9C22
Intel Corporation driver update for Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
both failed to install nevertheless other updates and cumulative software were installed successfully .
In the Device Manager I find those drivers installed in their places but for the first there is no way I can know whether I have the latest version or not.
Plus there are some more pci bridges which when they get updated from the Device Manager they change name and move upwards .
How do I handle this? Shall I force update all those drivers in the System Devices category or just leave everything as it is now in the screenshot?
All the above in a dell inspiron 15 3542 2104 running windows 10 64-bit.

I just installed the Intel GMA 500 graphics controller on my Viliv S10. It had been running the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, which didn't detect the screen's actual resolution but instead ran it at a slightly lower and distorted resolution. At the lower resolution running the basic display adapter I could scroll through the windows metro start screen and experience no flicker. Since installing the GMA 500 graphics controller I now can set the proper screen resolution but the start screen flickers when I scroll right or left and when the active tiles in the start screen refresh content, and when pinching to zoom on start screen.
I tried lowering the resolution to see if that was the issue, but I still experience flicker even at very low resolution. I also tried raising the screen brightness to the fullest extent (I saw this as a fix for flicker elsewhere) but the screen still flickers.

I haven't seen any screen flicker in desktop mode, except when toggling apps by dragging from left to right using the touch screen. Aero peek doesn't cause flicker nor does dragging an open window around the desktop. No flicker dragging open the right side information bar in desktop mode either.

My experience is that the Poulsbo has always been bad juju. Intel actually contracted the design of the chip to one company, and the drivers to another. To this day I don't believe the best drivers available truly take advantage of it's full capabilities.

A:Intel - Storage Intel(R) ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller Windows update

Hi smalis,Your image shows two Microsoft updates:1) MS Security Essentials virus definition update. (this should automatically update in the background)2) Intel Storage Sata Controller.Neither update will "format your computer" but my recommendation is NOT to download (#2) Intel Sata Controller from the Microsoft Update site. This type of driver from a stability and reliability standpoint is best obtained from the manufacturer of your motherboard or the manufacturer of your computer system (Dell, HP, etc) if it is OEM.

Intel Core i3-2330M + Intel HD Graphics 3000 = Black Screen
Hi,

first of all, my words of deep and sincere appreciation and thanks for this website. I use it, though only sporadically, for many, many years and always got very professional and useful help here!

Today I am inquiring about a problem that seems to be quite common and wide-spread, based on my own Internet searches: the bad combination of the Intel Core i3-2330M processor and the Intel HD Graphics 3000. During normal operations, my system works with that. But when using render software (POV-Ray) or attempting to play games, then I am getting that famous Black Screen. The laptop still continues to work, but I cannot see anything anymore. Only a restart helps, unfortunately. My online search did not reveal any solution, and having downloaded the "Intel Driver Update Utility", nothing new can be downloaded it seems.

I am speaking out here today about my problem with the hope, that someone here know a functioning solution. I need my system in order to create renders, that is my work. I just recently upgraded my system with that better processor, and it kills me now.

Edit: I fixed it! (I was causing the problem myself but uninstalling the chip in the first place when i should have been disabling it instead)

Ok... I looked for about an hour and decided i would have to make a new thread for my specific problem... so sorry if im making my first post in an odd place

I recently installed a NVIDIA GeForce 5500 FX PCI 256MB DDR video card
followed directions as best i could, and disabled the Intel integrated graphics... but my PC insists on REinstalling the intel integrated graphics controller upon restart... It left me alone for awhile and i could run Counter Strike : Condition Zero moderately well (low frames after playing for over an hour) but after allowing my computer to update itself (while using IE to dowload firefox for a reinstall, IE randomly decided my home page was going to be the microsoft site for the day) and since then no matter what i do the computer insists on trying to reinstall the intel integrated graphics thing...

so my question is, how do I make this stop? how do i keep the computer from giving me the dreaded "found new hardware" bubble when im using a FAR superior (REAL) video card already?

is there something i do in the BIOS (i hope not, i dont like messing around in there) or on the motherboard itself?

i have some basic info about my comp in my signature but im going to use "PolSystemInfo" to find all my PC specs and just copy paste them below, I just hope its enough info to help so... Read more

A:NVIDIA GeForce 5500 FX-vs-Intel Integrated Graphics... please make intel go away!

Hmm that didn't happen to me when I put mines in. Did you install the NVIDIA drivers? Try disabling the onboard in the device manager. That?s what I did. There doesn?t seem to be an option to turn it off in the bios (my bios) maybe there is for you however. It isn?t too complicated. Just simply look for onboard graphics or integrated graphics controller or w/e and select disable, but first try disabling it in the device manager. It should be listed under display adapters -> properties -> disable this device.

You should upgrade to DX9.0c...

Hi...I'm running Win7 Home Premium (64-bit), 8Gb RAM, with the chip:
Intel Core i7 2600K @ 3.40GHz
Sandy Bridge 32nm Technology

Graphics is not dedicated and is handled via this Intel chip.
During Windows Updates, MS ones download perfectly.

However, I also get an additional 'optional' update named: 'Intel Corporation - Display - Intel(R) HD Graphics'

This has never succeeded in downloading.
The MS explanation is always the same: possible interruption from my connection to their server...yet never any interruption when I download MS updates at exactly the same time!

After that, I get the usual 'download Mr Fix It' software which proves itself to be utterly useless in helping me find why the download is not succeeding.

I run Avast anti-virus and Zone Alarm firewall...but I can't figure out if they are somehow preventing the download.

I'd appreciate any help on this....

Many thanks

Hi,
I have Dell E7470 and I'm considering a motherboard replacement. The board has i7 CPU with Dell Part # VNKRJ . I wanted to ask If the new board with i7 CPU 6050 and Intel Iris graphics 540 (Dell part # YDW8F) will fit on my laptop ?

In addition, If I purchased an i5 board (Dell part # 3GMP2) , will I be able to replace the CPU with the one that I currently have on the old motherboard and get an i7 board ? I'm asking because the i5 board is cheaper than the i7 board.

Thank you

A:Dell E7470 - is it possible to get the new Intel 6050 CPU with Intel Iris graphics ?

While the boards should interchange, bear in mind:
Whatever board you buy has a CPU soldered to it - the CPUs cannot be replaced separately from the mainboard;  they are not removeable.
If the system is in warranty, replacing the mainboard voids the warranty.

Hi,
I recently bought Lenovo Y410 notebook and it came with windows vista home premium. As i want to install WinXP in my notebook, i tried with the WinXP CD available with me. But it didnt work, so i tried slipstreaming using nlite when i came to know that intel ich8m sata 3 port SATA Storage controller 2828 is the name of my SATA controller. But even then i am not able to install winXP. After copying all the installation files, the installation process doesnt move forward after rebooting. I am not getting the blue screen, but booting is not happening even after all the installation files are copied.

In short, i just want to install winXP on my laptop.
Inorder to try the AHCI disabling option, i checked in the advanced tab of bios, but such an option was not at all available there.
Pls help.

Is Intel HD Graphics Family better than Intel G41 express chipset?

The name is only Intel HD Graphics Family there isnt a number after it in dxdiag

A:Is Intel HD Graphics Family better than Intel G41 express chipset?

Intel G41 express is the very old, Core 2 equivalent on-motherboard-gpu aka Eaglelake. It only supports up to dx10, it has awful and old drivers, and incomplete opengl support (less apps can run on it). It can idle in recent games like Dota 2 with up to 30fps with everything on low. Key word: idle. Don't even think about playing under more than 15-20fps.

Intel HD Graphics Family is on-cpu-die-gpu aka Sandy Bridge, it's still old now, but does have support for dx11 and opengl, and it has a lot more raw power than x4500(g41), depending on the cpu. It even supports overclocking with sizeable improvements.

Really there is no contest between the two families.

Hi there. My issue is related to my switchable graphics option. I have an Intel hd 3000 and an AMD radeon (I'm not sure of the exact model as I can't search for it as my machine is currently stuck in a system restore loop so I'm having ti use my phone right now). There is one game I use regularly which, for some reason or another, is incompatible with my Intel graphics chip so I had previously used the right click on my desktop menu where I would select switchable graphics, and then manually allocate that particular game to my AMD chip rather than my Intel one. When the game updated yesterday, it reverted back to my Intel chip for some reason and when I right clicked on my desktop, the option to change it had disappeared. I looked on this forum for an answer to my issue and came upon this answer: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Switchable-Graphics-Options-Missing/td...Which appeared to fit my problem exactly. However, when I did as the instructions told me to and uninstalled both of my graphics devices and their drivers, and then rebooted, followed by installing the file linked to in the answer and rebooting again, this resulted in my Intel 3000 disappearing entirely from my device manager list, and my AMD chip being stopped by windows as it has reported an error.I tried reinstalling the previous driver linked to the AMD chip, but that did nothing at all. hello everybody, my name is Brian, I own a dell xps 13 (9350) purchased in 2017, but its the 2016 model with intel iris 540 graphics, its also the model with the QHD+ touch-screen, 3200x1800 resolution.
not sure if it matters what else the system has spec-wise, but ill include that also.

My question is in regards to the colors, and what this screen is producing picture/video quality-wise when I'm viewing colorful photos, or watching videos with colors on youtube;

I've watched quite a handful of videos on youtube about the dell xps 13, and a lot of them suggest that this laptop comes "a touch off" in terms of color gamma and/or color accuracy - whatever that means, but they say the xps 13 out of the box, with no settings adjusted other than what dell and intel have done, that the color and screen needs to be calibrated.

how do I know what to do and how to check if I need it? I mean, everything seems to be good looking, but if its off and I just don't know it, I would like to know how to modify these "said" settings, as I want the most out of my xps 13!

I'm also experimenting with different power-plan settings, trying to configure this machine for the best possible battery-life, and also longevity in overall-life span. meaning I want to preserve this machine in ways possible, without reducing any of the added benefits of having such a high-performing laptop.

I bought this xps 13 from a friend, we actually traded. I gave him my ipad... Read more
