Hi,I have spent a lot of time looking for a laptop which could meet my requirements. A week ago I bought this laptop and I love it, BUT the screen is giving me painful eyes just after like 30 minutes. I tried during the day, in the evening, to simulate different lightning conditions, tried to update BIOS and all drivers, playing with brighness, color setup, ... the same result. My girlfriend initially said that it can be it's only my perception, but then she tried to use it and got eye pain after like 30 minutes. I'm a programmer and she is a graphic designer, so we are used to spend like 10 hours a day in average behind a laptop, but we never get such a pain, as from this one, after like 30 mins. I tried to check if the laptop has PWM flickering. I tried to record the screen with my phone, and compare it to my older work laptop (Lenovo T520), which I never get an eye pain or headache from. The recording revealed a lot of backlight flickering on my old work laptop (like when you display a page with Google results, there were a lot of horizontal lines moving vertically over white google background), but not really on my new one. When I look very detailed at the video from the new laptop, I can maybe see like a tiny flickering on the font displaying google results, but nothing in the background white). Nothing prevents fan to move it's blades (huh, blades? Hello,  I have a lenovo yoga 520 14IKB, 120 GB SSD, 8 GB ram and NO HDD. As I recently had Wifi connection issues, I opened the computer to fix that (the cable popped out after a pretty rough plane ride). While in there, I saw that I had a SSD, as stated before. but I also saw that i have a unused space to put in another HDD/SSD. I believe that the SSD used in my system is a m.2 sata SSD (I am not  really sure as I am not really familiar with computer hardware), and it is located directly behind the connector for the 2.5 inch drive bay thing. The question now is wether or not I can simply install an HDD into that bay, and use it alongside the boot SSD to use it to store photos, documents etc. I should probably also mention that in sopace of a harddrive or 2.5 inch ssd, there was a "ciuya hdd dummy brk" in the drive bay. I hope to get quick answers, Thanks.

Hi all, I do not know if this was already asked before, the only question similar to this was asking whether you can charge a yoga 530 over type c. My question is if it is possible to use the type c to connect a hub which then connects to several usb devices and hdmi. I have Lenovo Yoga 530 14ikb which I bought in South Korea.The exact model number is 81EK0063KR. Active pen 1 was delivered together when I bought my laptop, but it's broken, so I want to buy a new active pen now. Since I did a lot of drawing and writing with active pen 1, I thought active pen 2 will give me better experience. So, before going to buy active pen 2, I want to check if it's working with my laptop. I've checked some posts from this community, some people said, active pen 2 is working with Yoga 530, but in official Lenovo website, my laptop is not included in the list of compatibility of active pen 2. I need to buy it as quick as possible. I would be quite appreciate, if you clarify my doubt.Thank you for reading, wating for reply.

Hello my name is Santiago. Today I tried to update my drivers using a third party software named "Driver Booster". As soon as I restarted my laptop I could notice that the touchpad was not working. As i didn´t create a restore point I restarted my computer back to factory settings in order to get rid of the drivers. But when the restart finished, the touchpad did not work either. I tried to look for touchpad drivers in the driver page of my computer but could not find any, in my settings I looked for touchpad and is nowhere to be seen, when I go to the hardware section of the mouse settings the box to enable touch pad isnt either, and lastly in my device manager in the sector of mouse & other pointing devices I can only see the driver of the Lenovo Pen Device. Does anybody know how to fix this problem? Because I already ran of options that I found on the internet. Thanks For Your Time.

I tried to update my BIOS recently, to the newest one on the Lenovo website (2XCN32WW v2.07), but it just says "Your machine does not match with this BIOS. Update process will be halted. I used the "Auto detect driver" service on lenovos site, so it should be correct.I am currently stuck on BIOS version "0GCN21WW v1.05" Please help, i am really lost here.

Hi everyone, I have Lenovo Yoga 710-14IKB 80V4001LAX model notebook. I bought it around 3 weeks ago. Everything was perfect until today. Today I noticed that the device is not charging. I made a research on the internet and saw that in many model of Lenovo there is this problem. - The conservation mode was closed all the time. So it is not that. Please check the screenshot.- I turned off the notebook, removed the cables and press the opening button for 30 seconds, and then plugged the cables in and restarted but no change.- Updated bios and no change.- No reached to battery as it is sealed. I am really disappointed and don't know what to do. Hi all, sorry for my bad english. I have a problem with Yoga 530-14IKB with dedicated NVIDIA GeForce MX130. When I play games with the AC adapter pugged-in, the frame rate slow down after 30 seconds. When running on battery power there is no frame rate problem. I have tried every possible solution in the power management settings, changed every percentage up and down, factory reset my PC and still lag.

Instead of sleeping when closing the lid, pressing the power button, sleeping after timeout or choosing sleep from the Windows menu the computer shuts down loosing all the open windows.Pressing the power button initiates a normal startIt happens with updated software from Lenovo and after restoring to the manufacturer original status.The computer has been send to Lenovo for repair, but still not working.

Hello, I opened up my laptop today and the right hinge is stuck and makes a strange cracking sound if I try to move it. The laptop is stuck open at 90 degrees, and cannot be moved from this position. I am travelling and will need to pack up my laptop in a few days, so I wish to resolve this issue.  I have read other forums where this is common in the Yoga laptops due to faulty hinges, and people have even cracked their screens from trying to move it from this position, which I am trying to avoid.  I also had a problem with the left hinge last year (under warrenty) where the hinge caused the monitor cable to become discconnected, but this has been fixed..  How can I solve this? This seems like a manufacturing fault for a laptop that can open 360 degrees. Kind Regards,  James

Hello,I have a question about this notebook. I have 8GB ram installed already on this notebook, but I would like to upgrade it to 16GB or 32GB. I read the manuals online about the hardware and many states that there are 2 SO-DIMM slots available, which sounds great for me, but I have checked some of the youtube disassembly videos and I can see only one SO-DIMM slot there.I guess I could just go and open it up myself and check, but before I do this I just wanted to ask here in community forums for clarification.Does this model have 1 or 2 SO-DIMM slots ?Thanks.

If this is a new laptop, I'd suggest returning it to the point of purchase for an exchange.
If that's not possible and it's under warranty, send it in or take it to a repair center. 
 
If it's out of warranty, it'd help to have a picture of the issue. Stuck pixel is one thing, a dead pixel is something else.

Hola:Desde hace cosa de un par de semanas al poco de encender el ordenador (que apenas tienes dos meses) si no lo tengo conectado a la corriente comienza a parpadear en negro de manera aleatoria e intermitente. Revisando no puede tratarse de una cuestión de batería pues supera en muchos casos el 60% y no puede tratarse de algo de la pantalla ya que si está conectado no hace dicha anomalía. ¿Alguna idea antes de que deba llevarlo a revisar al servicio técnico? Gracias

You are limited to 1 download.  Not sure if they can "reset" that or not.  Call support and explain to them what happened.  I do not speak for Lenovo but in the past they would just send you a recovery thumb drive.

I was using my computer like normal, when suddenly my bluetooth mouse stopped working. I try clicking on the bluetooth icon on the taskbar the bluetooth icon just dissapeared.When going to settings there is only the "bluetooth & other devices menu" and i try activating my devices through there - but it says bluetooth is turned off, and there doesn't seem to be a button to activate it again.I look through pretty much every settings menu but find nothing.I try googling some fixes (going through, Windows services, device manager etc.) but none of them work and even try to do a system restore of a week back, the bluetooth icon in the taskbar appeared again, although my devices still weren't working and simply hovering over it made it dissapear, again. I later tried downloading & installing the driver from here and it shows "Status: Installation not needed (No device for update present)  I'm not sure what the hell is going on i'd like some help. My computer is barely 5 months old.

Hey, my Yoga 710-14IKB is once again missing sound drivers after a windows update. I've navigated to http://pcsupport.lenovo.com/no/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-710-14ikb/downloads and located the latest audio driver for my laptop, which was released 20th of july in 2016. I've then installed the driver that I downloaded, restarted the PC, and still no audio drivers. I mouseover the sound icon in the Windows 10 task bar, and it says "No Audio Output device is installed". I right click this icon, select "playback devices" where I am greeted by the message "No audio devices are installed". I right click the text and ensure that both disconnected and disabled devices are shown, of which there are none. What do I do now? Edit: I've performed the system update scan on the same page as the driver downloads, and the only two drivers that are recommended that I install are "Connect2" and "Camera driver for Chicony - 10".

Hey, I have a problem with my sound. first of all, something happed after some kind of update, now the first 5 seconds of the song for example, it does not play, there is this delay. then I cant talk with skype of messenger because no one hears me and there is also a wind sound or something. the next problem is that the sound itself is really poor, when on less than 35 percent i cant hear a thing, i need to volume up and on 100, i wouldnt say it is that much loud. Anyone experienced the same? I only have my laptop for 2 months and I found more drawbacks than pluses...

Hey guys  Quick question here: Just oppened my new Yoga 520 today and I noticed somehting strange happening on the screen. From the  3 pictures below:-1st is how the desplay looks from a front angle. The only flickering/anomalies you will notice is from the camera limitaitons on my smarthpone.-2nd picture is where the issue is clear in the picture and morso with the naked eye. These humps become very noticeble when you view the screen from a side angle.-3rd picture is just to emphasize the outline on these humps which are more visable from what can be captured on my camera. Also, these anomalies stretch on the uppers side of the screen as well. Can anyone tell me what these are? If I should worry? If they are normal or of they will get worse, and if I should take the notebook the a lenovo shop to change something on the desplay? Thank you for your time!

Hello,I want to upgrade my RAM, or instead, I should say replace my RAM(as there is just one single slot available). The only thing that I am still confused about is the required bandwidth, as it is nowhere mentioned in HMM of my laptop given in the Lenovo support website.I've been through this forum, but the HMM(Hardware Maintenance Module) details don't match the HMM details given for my laptop(refer to the attached screenshot).  Just Help me with the bandwidth that I should purchase. Hello, my name is Daniel Demétrio and this is my first post on this forum. Recently i bought a Lenovo Yoga 710 14IKB. I absolutely love the laptop, and meanwhile i had some problems with the fan noise that i did manage to resolve using de Notebook Fan Control that was recomended on the forum, i still have other problem.My mouse pointer is constantly dissapering and reapearing, or just changes to a low resolution appearence. I've updated all the drivers, i tried all options of the mouse, i've seen a lot of tutorials or solutions, but still i got this problem.I don't think that the problem is related to the mouse or touchpad driver, i think is something related with the graphics card or something related. What is the "Windows Device Manager" saying about the bluetooth device ?

Can you check if the bluetooth complete disapear from the list, or if it shows some yellow warning sign when the issue appear.
 
Please check which bluetooth model do you have installed, on the support site for your model there are two bluetooth drivers:
1) Bluetooth Driver (Liteon, Qualcomm) for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Yoga 710-14IKB, Yoga 710-15IKB
2) Intel Bluetooth Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Yoga 710-14IKB, Yoga 710-15IKB

This has happened so far:- Bought this Notebook 9th of July.- After a couple of months (5th of Nov) the fans were really loud and constantly spinning (but the laptop was cool at least). I couldn't even have it running during lectures because the fan had this high pitch noise (like it it was hitting the actual plastic case).- Since the warranty was still valid I sent it in for repair around the end of November.- I got it back the 7th of Dec and started the laptop which was quiet as a mouse. I couldn't even hear the fan spinning. This made me a bit worried though that they had disabled the fan.- So I did some testing and downloaded HWMonitor to check the GPU temperatures while I ran some intensive graphics demos. As the temperature went up well over 80 C up to 90 C, the fan NEVER started spinning. It was still as quiet as when idle. I stopped the demos once it hit 91 C to not break anything.- After the laptop ran the demos I only had Chrome open and casually browsed it stayed at a constant 80 C, which is too hot to touch for longer periods of time. The temperature never dropped below 70 C when idle, which is expected since I can't even hear the fan spinning at all.- I have checked BIOS and "Quiet Mode" isn't even enabled so my only conclusion is that Lenovo must have disabled my fan just to stop the sound.In short, my laptop fan was too loud so I sent it in for reparation and got it back but now it overheats and there is no way to enable the fan again. So I haven't used my laptop for a week or so, and when I started it up a few days ago, the battery life turned from a solid 7+ hours to a mere 4 hours! I actually timed how long it took before the battery went down by 1% before this happened, so I did the same test after. When I tested it, for the first time, the battery went down 1% after 270 seconds(almost 5 minutes). Now it seems to lose the same amount of battery in a weak 140 seconds(just a little bit more than 2 minutes!). Can someone please help me find the cause and if I can fix it? I loved this laptop because of its excellent battery life.

Well the title says it all... I updated Windows and brightness is now locked on minimum. Even if I press F12 or go into the settings, the brightness bar will fill but the screen won't show any changes at all. Sorry if I mispelled anything but I can barely see on this screen due to this issue. Can someone please enlighten me? Literally.
