I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

My wireless connection keeps dropping even though the rest of the devices at home that's connected to the same router is staying connected. I've tried all the troubleshooting I could find online, but nothing seems to work. Then again, I'm not that IT savvy. I just bought this laptop a few days ago and I want to make sure I've not done anything to compromise the device's wireless capabilities.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

I have my new Lenovo ideapad and I need to change it to windows 10 64x (it's 32bit now). When I enter the F2 when rebooting, it won't let me switch and when I press the up and down button - it doesn't work. Somebody can help and walk me through the rebooting in order to install Windows 10 64x? I have it on my USB, to which I've downloaded it via Media Maker (I can't recall the name) of Windows.

Hi everyone, my 100s Ideapad recently had a charging issue where it won't charge unless you cram it in. So, I ordered a new charger off of Amazon with the same output voltage. However, when I plug the charger in, it doesn't show the charging light or turn on. I tried unplugging the battery and holding the button down, but it didn't work. The gold part inside the charging port is loose, I think that's what's wrong. Does anyone have any fixes?

Hi All, First off thank you for this community it's been incredibly helpful. I think I may have bricked my 100s-14IBR and need some advice. I received this laptop secondhand from a family member and being computer savvy (or at least so I thought) I wanted to make it my own and install Windows 7 Pro on it. So let's get started. Bios SettingsSecure Boot: DisabledBoot Priority: Legacy SupportBoot Priority: Legacy FirstUSB Boot:Enabled - Booting from USB with Windows 7 iso created using Rufus - "MBR partition for scheme UEFI"- File system was FAT32 So I am able to boot from USB, load DISKPART via W7 cmd prompt, clean the HDD, convert to MBR from GPT, wipe all partitions clean, format them into one partition (instead of the original four), and install Windows 7 (although painstaking slow). Immediately upon first boot I get BSOD and following that I begin bootlooping in to the Windows Advanced Options menu giving me the option to boot into Safe Mode, Last Known Good Configuration, etc. Safe Mode Fails, Start Windows Normally Fails, and Last Known Good Configuration takes me back to the BSOD. So, I threw up my hands and decided to re-install Windows 10. However, now the system doesn't act like it wants to boot to Windows 10 from USB stick. I simply keep geeting a boot loop into Windows Advanced Options Menu. Have I bricked my device? I can still enter the BIOS and the Boot Menu via the Novo button. However, n... Read more

Hello My Ideapad 100S has in the last couple of days developed a curious problem. If I try to drag something using the touchpad, after holding down the left button, when I move my finger across the pad the machine behaves as if its receiving multiple double-taps rather than mouse-moves. So, for instance, if you do this on a map it does lots of zoom-ins. Any ideas, anyone?

First off, I'm going to say this laptop was a Christmas gift from a friend. I do not have ANY computers in this house aside from this one. I use this laptop for blogging and listening to music as well as job hunting, however, it will not register the keyboard or touchpad at all. I called Customer Support and the best answer they could give me was to bring it back to the store I got it from--this was an incompetent answer to the problem. I have tried touching and holding the power button for 15 seconds and when it restarts, the problem is not fixed. None of the keys are working. Period. I have a mouse for a gaming computer, however, I do not have a keyboard to plug in to use. If I could get a response to this, that would be GREAT!!! Hi, I have had my Lenovo Ideapad 100s-14IBR for just over a year now. I had a few issues during this time such as the screen goes black and a battery issue. I sent the laptop back for repairs which were done. A problem though was they sent it back now and wifi was not working. Once in a while, it would let me connect to a connection but it the signal would be one bar or it won't connect. Usually, it says no available connections (wifi symbol dark grey with red cross). This has been like this nearly for 5 months and I've had enough. I've tried updating drivers etc but nothing works. I troubleshoot problems and it says "problem with wireless adapter or access point." This laptop is on windows 10. Please Help!

Hi. Just a few days ago, I purchase a 14.5 inch wide Lenovo IdeaPad 100s. I also own a TEAC Screen/Monitor, which I connect them together with a HDMI cord to have dual monitors. Recently, while I was playing a game on my computer, my screen just flashed white, and stayed white, but my other monitor (which I have them to be extended for more room) was completely responsive. I turned off my computer by holding down the power button until the charging and power button were both off, then switched it back on. Instead, the computer appeared to be on (the power and charging lights were switched on) but the screen was just blank and black and my dual monitor (the TEAC television) acted as my one and only monitor. I logged on and went to my settings, to check if there were any signs of my laptop screen working, but there wasn't it only said my TEAC monitor was the only screen I had. Any help of what I can do?  (NOTE: I use Windows 10)

Hey, I'm having a lot of trouble with installing Windows 7 on a Lenovo Ideapad 100S. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate x86 on a USB using the USB DVD Tool, but it isn't detected on the system's boot menu no matter what I do. GPartEd works fine, which is confusing me even more. I haven't tested anything else yet but I'm downloading Linux Mint to be sure. I have absolutely no idea what the problem could be, and searching for a solution has turned up nothing. Any help is greatly needed, and feel free to ask for more information.

EDIT: I'll also mention that I already turned Secure Boot off.

EDIT2: Linux Mint x86 isn't detected either...

Hi, I have a lenovo ideapad 100S, during 1 year I bought it on USA, now I am working on Nicaragua, so, I am currently with a problem with my powerfull laptop, after 3 month of using my computer, I have noted that when the back side of the screen when the lid is closed is Lightly pressed, on the screen appears some vertical lines over the display, sometimes, it dissapears less than an hour, over and over again, but today coming from my work, I was going to use the laptop, it showed up,It's been over 3 hours since showed up, and still is there. I know that is manufacturing defects, because the design must take it into account, make stronger and avoid weaknesses, even on the screens. I am programmer, it's horrible work with these lines. Hope can you help me. And if I can use the Lenovo regional support on my country, I don't want to send it to US. I got 80 days remaining on my warranty.

Hello and welcome,

https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/forums/v3_1/forumtopicpage/board-id/ll01_en/thread-id/36327

https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-IdeaPad-100-305-500-Edge/Lenovo-Ideapad-100s-change-from-32-bit-...

TLDR: the 100s-11iby has a UEFI only 32-bit BIOS.  Bootable install media has to be UEFI and 32 bit which is a rare combination.

I bought this laptop (Ideapad 100s-14IBR) about 2 weeks ago. First I fully restore Windows 10 to start fresh but after a while I notice that when I charge my laptop, it will stop at 80%. It will not charge to 100%. I looked up on the internet and many suggest that it has something to do with the energy management setup. Suppose it  there are two option 1. fully use the battery 2. optimise the battery life. I search everywhere in my c:\ and I cannot find the "energy management" software. Others suggested that the battery is dying....but I just bought this laptop...how can that be? Please help....

A:Lenovo Ideapad 100s 14 inch won't fully charge on ...

Hi Luciu,

Welcome to the Lenovo community!

System Tray > Lenovo Energy Management > Go to Settings > Turn OFF Conservation Mode > Remove AC adapter > Reinstall AC adapter > It should charge up to 100%.

Also, please do check that under the battery menu in Lenovo energy management, IT IS SET TO 'MAXIMUM BATTERY LIFE' to enable charging to 100%, not Optimised battery health as this will allow your battery to have a longer lifespan.

When i clicked on the battery, and selected "More Power Options," then clicked "change power plan settings" and then I went to "advanced power settings." There is a tab there for Lenovo Energy Management and you have to click "Enable Lenovo Energy Management." Then it pops up.

Let us know how you get on.

Regards,
Shashi
