Latest Power Management Driver Conflicts with Lenovo OSD

Q: Latest Power Management Driver Conflicts with Lenovo OSD

Hi, Seems like the latest Power Management Driver which was release on the 21st of August caused the Lenovo OSD to stop working.I tried to re-install the OSD and only part of the Fn+FX were working again, also the volume display did for a while and then everything stopped working again after a reboot. Anyone else facing the same? I'm on a Lenovo T430 and Windows 7 x64 Professional. Thanks.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

hi Reichtofer,

Thanks for Posting!

Try opening Control Panel / Uninstall a program and uninstall the Lenovo Energy Management / Power Management Software,
   Restart the system if prompted.

Now download and install this
     Lenovo Power Management Driver

If  after the installation you were able to see a shortcut icon on your desktop,
try navigating Crogram Files or Program Files x86
now look for Lenovo Folder and It shouldbe located there.

Hope this helps
Cheers!

Next time when I restart the laptop, the driver would be re-installed automatically without my permission. Hi patmos,
It sounds like your "refresh rate" needs to be bumped up some.
1.Click Start > Control Panel > Display.
2. Click "Change Display Settings"
3. Click "Advanced Settings"
4. Click Monitor Tab.
5. You should see "Screen Refresh Rate". Change it to like 70 or 72. See what works best for you.
6. Also you can choose Colors: True Color (32 bit)

I have an L380 Yoga configured as described here. Over the past few months it has been producing a large number of reverse DNS lookups (in-addr.arpa) relative to my other machines. I couldn't really figure out what the culprit was until this week when the problem apparently went away. This morning I installed this Lenovo Power Management Driver update. Since that installation and reboot, the excessive reverse DNS lookups have returned. It seems to me therefore that this issue is caused by the Power Management Driver. Can this be fixed? Any ideas?

I was missing a driver for an Unknown Device, and the Hardware ID showed up as:

ACPI\PNP0700
*PNP0700

It's parent device was the Intel 82801EB LPC Interface Controller. So I figured I was missing the Power Management Controller. I look in the drivers included with Vista and all that was on hand was the Intel 82371EB Power Management Controller. I attempted to use this driver, and there are no errors, but I really don't think that's correct.

Interestingly, my last Vista installation did not exhibit this issue. I wonder if anyone who has an HP xw8200 (with ANY OS installed) can tell me what driver is used for this device (most likely the power management controller).

Any assistance is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tried to install the Lenovo Power Management Driver for Windows 10 (32-bit, 64-bit) directly from the http://support.lenovo.com/ website to see if you get any error message during the installation? The latest version I see of the Lenovo Power Management Driver for Windows 10 (32-bit, 64-bit)  is version 1.67.12.16 dated 12.September 2016  Then there is the Lenovo KB Document below that states "There is no Power Manager for Windows 10", which might lead one to believe that Lenovo Power Management does not even work in Windows 10, yet they released a new driver specifically for Windows 10.  Power Manager does not work in Windows 10 - ThinkPadhttps://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht104070 It seems to me that some clarity on this matter is certainly needed from Lenovo. Cheers,

Hello Community,as per a.m. I'm reporting what I believe is a bug, not sure it is though.Everytime I try to update the AMD VGA Driver via Lenovo Vantage (which I find very useful since I do not have to deal with the manual install/uninstall of drivers) I reach a point where the OS reports that two different driver versions are installed (??).There seems to result in a driver conflict, therefore I'm unable to access to the AMD Radeon Settings via mouse right click. Shouldn't the Lenovo Vantage process uninstall the old driver before installing the new/updated one? No updating of drivers via Lenovo Vantage have ever resulted in such a weird behaviour, so I have no clue of what it is... Lucky me I am prudent enough to have a daily backup of the OS so I can restore it when such behaviour occurs... Do you guys still suggest to using Lenovo Vantage to update AMD VGA Driver or proceed with the manual update?Could pls. be so kind to tell why Lenovo Vantage is behaving so weirdly and if it's resolvable or not?If it's not can you suggest a page/guide explaining the manual process of updating the specific driver for my notebook and where to download the correct one?Thank you so very much in anticipation for your kind support. Specs:Windows 10 HomeInstalled/current AMD VGA Driver version: 25.20.14118.3002Latest AMD VGA Driver version: 26.20.11016.5002

Today, I updated my Realtek Audio Driver to version 6.0.1.7831 (dated 7/21/2016). After installation, I immediately realized that the taskbar icon changed from Dolby to Realtek default icon:? -> ? Next, I went to Programs and Features and found out that "Dolby Audio X2 Windows APP" disappeared from the list. Originally, both of these Dolby programs came with the laptop:? After the update, I was only left with this:? The impact of this is that I can no longer toggle the different sound features provided by the Dolby App. I contacted Lenovo via online chat support but the personnel insists Dolby is not a supported program by Lenovo without giving me a valid solution or answer. Did Lenovo omit Dolby App in the latest Audio Driver by mistake? Or did Lenovo intentionally removed it due to the vulnerability explained here: "Dolby Audio X2 (DAX2) privilege escalation" https://support.lenovo.com/sg/en/product_security/len_4884#/IdeaPad. If anybody is facing the same issue / has any solutions / answers, kindly leave a comment below. i tried fixing it with a Microsoft support agent before and with the remote desktop help, Cortana had a problem too he fixed it, but the driver he said the there is nothing we could do about it because it's just an incompatible update and that we should just wait for the correct update to come in.Ever since then my laptop do crazy things on sleep, hibernate and shutdown, so i was only finding some workarounds the problem, the sleep mode when it wake up it restart so i switched to hibernating, the new things happens now when i shut down it, it opens weird now like, the keyboard lights up then lights down and the power bottom the same, then either they just stop and i have to hit the power button again or they lights of for seconds and everything runs normalNow i just experiened a bluescreen restart because of it, anyone could advise me on a solution?RegardsNada

I have my lenovo x230 laptop set to sleep when I close the lid. When I close the lid the "sleep" icon on the back of the screen lights up. But the batter will not last through the night on sleep mode. Within five hours or so, the battery is completely drained and I have to plug in and boot up the system. I've never seen such poor batter performance during sleep mode on any other laptop I've ever owned.  Another thread in this forum blames the USB port that allows you to charge mobile phones/etc. during low-power states and recommends disabling the "always power on" option fo this USB port in the Bios settings. I've done so, be it doesn't seem to have helped. At least my laptop still will not make it through the night in sleep mode.  At this point, it seems my ownly option is to use sleep mode only when the laptop is plugged in and hibernation mode when on batter power, which is disappointing. I've never had to worry about this in the past with other laptops.  Perhaps/probably related is the fact that the lenovo ThinkVantage Power Manager (v. 7.16) hangs at the splash screen when I try to open it, so I've been trying to manage the power through the windows control panel power settings.

System Thinkpad T500. originally surnished with Vista Professional. HD replaced with Win 7 SP1 image by 3rd party refurbisher. Audio was working and playing through Bluetooth headphone. It was a bit choppy so I checked the Conexant device driver in device manager. It was the 10/02/2009 version and there were 2 Conexant devices listed. I went to Lenovo site (T500 disappered from selection panel a few days ago) and found the driver by searching on T500 and a newer version was available. The Readme indicated that installation over the existing driver was OK so I did not do an uninstall. I did a manual installation. Device manager shows the same driver version and date as before. I extracted the new driver into a dedicated directory and pointed update driver to it. It said I already had that driver installed. There is only one Conexant device listed in device manager and the headphone option disappered from the Conexant control panel. Bluetooth head phone still connects but no sound comes through them and there is no control for them on the Conexant mixer panel. Any ideas to try will be appreciated. I have legal Win 7 but no restore disk. I would revert back to the original drivers if I knew how.

I need to rollback the newly installed update to the Lenovo Power Managment Driver (1.67.16.42) on my T460s. Since that driver (and only that driver mind you) was updated on the 14th of January 2020 on my computer it crashes on average 5 times a day. It worked perfectly prior to the update and that was the only change done to the computer. So where can I find an older driver and how do I install it?
