ACPI Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) won't install on Lenovo 320-14IKB 80XK

Q: ACPI Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) won't install on Lenovo 320-14IKB 80XK

I bought a new ideapad 320 and installed the drivers, all of them installed properly except for the ACPI Driver from:https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/ng/en/products/LAPTOPS-AND-NETBOOKS/300-SERIES/320-14IKB/80XK/downloads... The installer extracted the setup file to C:\Drivers\ACPIDriver but I can't start the setup file, if I click it, it does nothing and I checked Device Manager and the ACPI Driver is not installed.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi, as title says, I can't restart my laptop and on boot up on lenovo logo, my laptop force shutdowns.I found out this problem when a Lenovo system firmware 1.29.0.0 required me to restart to install updates.I have no problem shutting down normally. But I really need this restart function to install updates. Updates are not installed when just shutting down and booting up the laptop. Thanks.

A:Lenovo G580 Windows 10 ACPI Driver not installing?

hi acemod13,

I looked at the Lenovo Energy Management driver for Windows 10 and upon observing the installer behavior, it extract the ACPI driver files (58KB) to C:\ProgramData\Lenovo\ACPIDriver (this may explain why the installer closes right after extracting).

If you're seing an Unknown Device in the Device Manager with an ACPI hardware ID (see image below) then try to update the driver manually and point it to the C:\ProgramData\Lenovo\ACPIDriver folder
 - Sample image

If you're unable to see the driver files, I've uploaded them here.

Let me know how it goes.

I download the :Advanced Configuration and Power Management Interface (ACPI) Driver, from the Lenovo website: The link for the driver ( for Lenovo y700-15ISK) :

I download, give permission to run, then nothing happens; no installation wizard, nothing. This is the only driver I haven't been able to update, and it is the one that is causing me serious problems with audio latency, as Latencymon v 6.50 tells me. I get crackling sound from speakers, but when I disable the ACPI driver, the crackling goes away. The problem is that if I disable the ACPI driver, I am no longer able to see my battery status. So it is important that I update this driver. However, I don't know how it is possible that the driver provided by Lenovo does absolutely nothing at all.

The fix for this is to go to safe mode (on windows 10) : Settings-> Update & Security-> Recovery : press restart now -> After your PC restarts to the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options >Startup Settings > Restart-> After your PC restarts, you'll see a list of options. Select 4 or F4 to start your PC in Safe Mode. then in safe mode go to device manager ->System devices  right click on Lenovo ACPI-Compliant Virtual Power Controller  -> Uninstall  Double click on the ACPI Driver you downloaded. this should fix the problem.

Hi All, I've tried to downgrade my laptop to Windows 7 x64 but have found that there aren't specific Windows 7 drivers for this laptop on the Lenovo Website However, everything works well as most of the drivers are Windows 7 & 10 compatible ... except 1 key one the ACPI driver that is Windows 10 only ... unfortunately this means I can't adjust any power options including the screen brightness ... so i was wondering has nayone else had any luck in installing Windows 7 on one of these or similar laptops ... or can someone point me to a compatible ACPI driver? Thanks, Luke

A:Ideapad 300-17ISK - Windows 7 x64 (ACPI Driver)

I think the "Lenovo PM Device" might be available through windows update, but I'm not sure if it only works on Thinkpads. I have not gone through installing Windows 7 x64 on my Ideapad 300 yet, but I plan to and have considered drivers from the G70 Z710 & Z70, I think there are similarities, but they are different chipsets so Windows Update is probably a better option for ACPI If Windows Update doesn't list under "Optional" it can also be downloaded from the Microsoft Update Catalog http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=lenovo%20pm%20device%20acpi%20windows%207This link probably will only work in Internet Explorer (it requires an ActiveX control). An option is to use the "Windows Mobility Center" to control screen brightness >>Programs>>Accessories>>Windows Mobility Center

Good day all I have installed Windows 10 Pro 64-bit on an old Lenovo G550. It used to work well on Windows 7, but now I cannot install or update the display drivers in order to connect an external display (LG 49" TV) at 1920 x 1080. Windows installed its own useless drivers that obtains at least 1366 x 768 on both the laptop and the TV when displays are duplicated. Then the highest I can go is 1366 x 768. When I select "Show only on 2" (which is essentially what I want to do), it goes down to an even worse display resolution, but this also disables the Resolution drop-down.  I have downloaded every version of drivers know to God and man from Lenovo's and other sites, but all of them tells me: "This computer does not meet the minimum requirement for installing software." I have deleted the driver and reinstalled via "Scan for hardward changes" as well. I have done a Windows update as well. I have no idea what to do next. How do I fix this stupid problem? Please help me. Thank you in advance.Kind regardsRenier

Hello,

is anyone able to explain to me, why on my system i do get a BAD_POOL_HEADER bluescreen stop from Windows XP, right after installing it as Standard-PC (using F5 during Install, selecting "Standard PC") while having ACPI functions and Plug and Play OS option turned off in BIOS?

My setup:

ASUS P5LD2 Deluxe with an Intel Pentium-4 630 S775 Prescott 3.0 GHz, 800 FSB (Boxed)
1024 MB Kingston RAM (tested), ATI X800 GTO Ultimate Edition (passive cooled), many different hard drives from Samsung and Seagate, all expect for the main setup drive plugged out though.

My system worked fine with two XP setups on two different partitions of the same physical drive. I got a new Audio Interface, so i wanted to resetup everything. First - however - i tried to reinstall the drivers for the HAL (i think it's the HAL, right? which says ACPI-PC or STANDARD-PC in the Hardware List in Windows?), after a reboot Windows didnt start up anymore. It made my computer restart everytime i tried to load up Windows.

I read that when using specific Software (Cubase SX) i shall set the BIOS settings mentioned above to the options also mentioned above. With those settings i tried different combinations (BIOS settings OFF, Windows XP install in Standard Mode, ACPI Mode, then the same with the BIOS settings ON). After a few failures i thought about installing Win2k. This resulted in my system hanging with the text "Setup is starting Windows 2000" on the bottom of the setup scree... Read more

First, some quick background: I did a clean install of Windows 10 on my four-year-old Pavilion G6 laptop. The Windows installer automatically installed all of the necessary drivers for the machine, including the HP Wireless Button Driver. After installing Windows, I tested the button and confirmed that it was working as expected, i.e. I could use it to turn airplane mode on and off. Yesterday I noticed that the button is no longer working. I have Wi-Fi connectivity and I can turn airplane mode on and off in Windows settings, but I can't use the F12 button to do this. The LED on the button is working normally, however, changing color when I turn airplane mode on or off. When I checked Device Manager, I was surprised to find the entire category of Human Interface Devices missing. I looked in the View menu and clicked on "Show hidden devices." This showed the Human Interface Devices category, with two entries: "HP Wireless Button Driver" and "HID-compliant wireless radio controls." Properties show that the device "HID-compliant wireless radio controls" is part of the HP Wireless Button Driver, and indicate that both devices are "not connected to the computer." This is strange, since the button is a built-in device. I have tried a number of things to get the button working again, all to no avail. I did a system restore to the earliest possible date. Hello, I have a Y500 running Windows 10 Insider Fast Ring build 15019 and noticed in Device Manager that there are no drivers installed for ACPI functionality. What this means is that my laptop cannot successfully shut down, sleep, or hibernate. I have to power-cycle the machine upon wake-up in order to use it. Note that I'm experiencing this only with Insider builds. The Anniversary Release 1607 released last July does not have this problem. I went to this page and downloaded the ACPI driver. I've tried running the setup as both a regular and Administrator user, and the setup silently fails. Since I do PC support on the side, I like to run Insider builds to stay ahead of the curve. Any help besides 'wipe the drive and put 1607 back on' would be highly appreciated. TIA.

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Am I not able to install Windows 7 on this laptop because it's so old or do I just need to update the bios or what? If that is the case how do I go about doing that?....

A:[SOLVED] ACPI compliant error while trying to install Windows 7

Hi shewillnotdie,

It is telling you that either the hardware or the BIOS version is incompatible with the Windows installation you're trying to do. I'm not aware of the specific error codes and didn't find a list of them on Microsofts site either.

After a quick look at the specifications of that laptop, I'm afraid it does not meet the requirements for Windows 7.

Sidenote: Some have apparently been able to install Windows 7 on older machines that doesn't meet the requirements, but I can't find any pattern as to which ones can. You could see if there are any BIOS updates for your machine and try, but bottom line is that the requirements are not met.

Hello, Lenovo.  I've got problem with unworking fan. For this moment I tried next things: Physical accurate cleaning of fan and surroundings from dust and suchlike things. Nothing prevents fan to move it's blades (huh, blades? I don't know how it's calling)Checking connection and reconnecting fan from\to motherboard.Reinstalling Windows back to the clear version.Installing all "recommended" drivers from your support part of website.Updating BIOS to the newest version that you've offered for this laptop model.Second reinstalling of Windows but now not from Windows Settings, but from special .iso file from Microsoft's support website.Always doing checking by Lenovo Diagnostic Tool. Also, I've tried to get something from sidepart apps like SpeedFan.Stresstest with expectation of reacting temperature sensors on overheating and turning on fan.Laptop was bought from LenovoIsrael ~1 year and 2 months ago. One day (the last sunday, I think) fan just stop working and laptop, obviously, become overheating every time I'm doing some work on it. Now is the last night before really important exam for me and I can't prepare doing tests online for three days because of lags caused by overheating. There is screenshot from Lenovo Diagnostic Tool. Also, I've added dxdiag (i dunno if you need this) and msinfo32. There was no alert messages like "I cannot run Win10 because of missing fan" or something like that. Laptop is just continue working as everything is ok.  &n... Read more

I'm trying to install Windows 7 on a Compaq Presario 2100 laptop with 1GB of RAM and known good HDD. I ran memtest 86 for 12 hours with no errors. The BIOS sucks and has no options for ACPI, power management, or even serial/parallel port addressing, only boot order, system info, and password. The only device option in the BIOS besides video memory (tried every setting there) is legacy usb support (tried that too). I've been googling for 2 hours about this and found the whole F5 and F7 thing for XP, but I'm not sure if there's a similar option in 7 to only use Standard HAL. There's no Press F6 prompt in 7 install to press F7 at.

A:BIOS not ACPI compatible BSOD on clean install of Windows 7?

We have a 2150 which came back to life several years after coffee saturated the keyboard. It lives on with XP but is the only one of our older machines that will not run Win7 even with the 2005 BIOS update.

These are survivor workhorses but not Win7 capable that I've found.
