I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello-

I'm at wits end. Can't send E-Mail messages (but can receive) in Outlook Express 5. I've run several virus scans, but nothing found. Computer, as far as I can see, is clean. I'm receiving error number 0x800ccc0E. I've visited several websites and followed their fix solutions, but still the same problem. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook Express, tried a different (new) identity, but still no luck. Any Ideas???

Its usually as simple as a mis-spelt server name or wrong port.

Post back with the smtp settings on the computer as they are now.

However, if i take it over to my friends place, i can send them instantly, we are both using the same service provider, the only difference is the location of our houses. I have turned off all firewalls, antivirus, and anything else that could be blocking email, and still no change, in windows mail i removed the tick in "this server requires authentication" and still no change. Can someone please assist me, I am stumped, and don't know what else to try.

Four days ago I started getting the above error code when trying to check my email. I use a personal domain and it has worked fine for years. I've checked that my settings are correct and the only difference was the outgoing mail server was set to port 25 and my cpanel says it should be 26. Changed it but no difference.

I can access the mail through my cpanel so it's not server problems. Not sure what else to try.

The socket error is 10061.. not sure if that means anything.

Thanks

so far I have done the following steps to resolve the problem:contacted my service provider to ensure all email settings were set correctly.--they were. they advised remove email accounts, windows live mail program, re-install live mail and setup accounts again. I did this twice with the same results--can not sned out emails. I have disabled the antivirus thinking that maybe the problem could be due to that--still no luck. Ihve changed the outgoing port to a secondary port provided by my provider--no luck here. I have also tried checking the block for "requires authenication"--this didn't do anything either. I have searched for days trying to find an answer to my problem and I am not getting anywhere. Getting desperate as I usually can figure things out but this problem has me baffled. This problem just started today and I am a bit confused when I try to get my email on WLM I get the above error. I am going through my ISP and using POP3 the POP setting is pop.midstatesd.net and smtp.midstatesd.net all of the setting are correct so not sure why I am getting the error. I should mention that I am connecting using a laptop with a Dlink router and do not have any issues connecting to the internet.
I am unable to ping the pop.midstatesd.net so figured something was set wrong on the router but cannot find any thing that would be blocking it there.
anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Hi

I am desperate to resolve this issue, as I have been getting this 0x800ccc0e error from Outlook on my laptop, regarding failure to connect to my virtual server (apache tomcat running windows server 2008)

I tried to connect to my email via Webmail on Plesk, and received a failed login. The same for all accounts.

The problem arose when just minutes after sending through an email okay, I tried a follow up email to the same person and received this 0x800ccc0e error message.

I check on the server and noted that Mailenable Professional was not running IMAP properly, as I have exceed my trial period, so I spoke to them and installed Mailenable Enterprise on over the top to keep the trial running.

It kept the same settings, and IMAP and all the other services on the same accounts worked.

Having gone back to Outlook on my laptop, and tried to send. I got the same error.

Since then, I have disabled all anti-virus (KASPERSKY PURE / SPY WARE DOCTOR / MALWARE) on my laptop and server (SYMANTEC END POINT), disabling the firewalls to no avail.

I tried setting up an account with POP as opposed to IMAP, and test fails. I have also verified the account details to be the same, as had worked previously for a long time.

I've tinkered with some port changes via other forums, and its not worked either. Plus did a run of registry cleaners on both systems, as well as resetting machines etc.

Tel net command prompts actions do not work or bring up anything.

Which is either a server entry wrong on your end, username/password incorrectly entered or your internet connection is having an issue at that time. Double check your internet connectivity and all your settings in your email program.

Does Charter support SMTP SSL connections on port 25? Most servers use port 465. Try setting the port to 465. If that doesn't work, trying turning off SSL while using port 25.

You need to change you outgoing email server from Plusnet to whichever provider you are now connected too. Most ISP do not allow email to be sent using settings from another ISP as a security measure, receiving is ok just not sending.

Troubleshooting error messages that you receive when you try to send and receive e-mail in Outlook and Outlook Express

Have you verified your mail server settings are correct?

Deleted and rekeyed the server settings?

If required, verify authentication for the outgoing server is enabled.

Can you login into your ukmailexchange web mail server?
Do you have plenty of storage remaining on the ukmailexchange web mail server?

What anti-virus program are you using? Is it configured to scan incoming and outgoing e-mails?

What firewall are you using? Verify it is not blocking internet to the application or SMTP.

Hi, I have looked at all the different discussion threads and tried almost every single suggestion made but still have'nt had any luck so far.
I can receive email but can't send any. What triggered this error is that, I recently moved from London to New York and I am now using a different ISP to connect to the internet. I have tried changing the port numbers etc, but I keep getting back this error message.

I have :
- run a full Norton system scan - no viruses found
- run a disc cleanup via Start programs, accessories, system tools, disc cleanup
- run a Norton registry cleanup - same problem
- tried uninstalling Outlook and then found a posting that says you cant physically uninstall and reinstall outlook

Google chrome is working ok and I can get to the messages via Chrome but am having no luck getting outlook to send and receive mail.

Internet search implies it may be a broekn registry entry but is there a recommended registry cleanup took and/or can you suggest anything else I can try?

Much appreciated

A:Solved: Socket Error: 10065, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Just for completeness - I found the cause of the error was nothing to do with ports. We use an application called Peerblock which prevent our PC sending information to third parties (telecoms companies, educations institutions, etc.) This uses lists from www.iblocklist.com and one list in particular (the bogon list) would seem to contain an IP address which conflicts with a combination of Orange.fr and Outlook express requirements and so prevents Outlook working.

I am unable to send through my msn account; which is a drag to forward something that came in that mailbox. I get the error: Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E. This error does not happen when I am forwarding or sending in one of my other email addresses. The solution that I have seen posted states it is a problem when you have "call waiting" on your line. Since my puter is on the same cable as my phone, I need to have phone usage, call waiting, and puter use all at the same time. This has been an on and off issue since Windows Live took over my old Outlook Express. Without moving messages from the msn account to another email, is there a better way?

A:Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E usually means there is a problem connecting to the server or the connection is timing out.
You can try to ping your SMTP server.
Go to start - run - type "ping MSN smtp SERVER" (where MSN smtp SERVER is your smtp server you are using in outlook express for your MSN account).
Let me know if you get a reply or not.

Your firewall (if you have one) might also be interfering? Try turning them off temporarily.
You might be using the wrong port to send emails?
Lastly you have to authenticate to the SMTP server and you might not be doing that?
