I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

So I bought my 2013 Razer Blade last year, and it ran fine. I didn't update it to Windows 8.1, and it has been working fine. However, recently, I noticed that my Blade was having some pretty severe battery self discharge. I left it at about 30% and shut the PC down, and when I turned it on again to do some work the next day, the battery was fully drained. Now, the batter indicator is broken. Why? It's been stuck at 100%. I've printed some documents, and did about 30 minutes of light gaming (which usually drains the battery by a little) and so far, the battery has not gone down at all. Even as I'm at full brightness too. It seems like my battery is severely damaged, and since my warranty has expired, I don't think sending it back to Razer would help much, especially when I need it for school work and all. I did do some research on repairing the damn thing in Singapore (which is where I live), but it costs about $200-300. About 80% of it goes into labor costs. It seems like I have to obtain a replacement battery too (which is expensive as well). Anyway, is there anything I can do, software wise, to fix the indicator? It just went down to 99% after typing the paragraph above, stating that I have about 3 hours left on battery life. Well, I know my battery is busted, since it's self discharging, but is the indicator not working as well?

A:Razer Blade 14 (2013 Edition) Battery Issues

Welcome to the TSG Forums....

Your computer uses a lithium-ion polymer battery. As with all Li-ion batteries there are safety issues associated with LiPo batteries - some of which can result in catastrophic failure, including fire and in some very rare cases an explosion.

If you believe that the battery is faulty then should you stop using the computer and either remove the battery or allow it to discharge completely.

It would also not serve any purpose to simply replace the battery because you do not know the cause of the problem.

I suggest that you should seek professional advice of someone who has the equipment and experience to correctly diagnose the problem. This really is a prime example of where a little knowledge could be very dangerous. I believe that without physically subjecting the computer to hands-on testing it is near to impossible to accurately diagnose the problem.

Howdy! My old laptop died after 6 years of use and I'm looking for a new one. I'm eyeballing the ones above but they're factors that make it hard for me to decide

A: Macbooks are great for productivity with pro software and battery is superior

B: Stealth is cheaper and hardware is better but battery is worse from what I hear.

I want to get 8 plus hours on a laptop and while I don't need gaming as I have a desktop it would be nice but my main objective is to use the device for school and video editing

? OS - Windows 7 x64
? What was original installed OS on system? Windows XP
? Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from retailer)? I ordered ir from a website along with my motherboard so I guess full retail.
? Age of system (hardware) 2007-2010 one of my hard drives is 2005 tho but the OS is not on it.
? Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS? ~6 months
? CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 (overclocked)
? Video Card Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT
? MotherBoard I dont remember and for some reason everest doesnt know. Besides the same problem occured with the last motherboard too.
? Power Supply - brand & wattage 450W dont know the brand.

BSOD only happens when I play mount & blade or mount & blade warband. And when I played a lot of M&B without realizing that my last motherboard eventually broke.

Hi -

There are 3 dumps in the attached zip - latest on = Sept 2010.

Undo overclocking.

450w PSU is a likely issue - Power Supply Information and Selection

Playing the wonderful "Mount & Blade" (independent pc game), I just got a Blue Screen Of Death, forcing me to reboot the computer.

Savedump:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x1000008e (0xc0000005, 0xbf9f4f0f, 0xb10a9fe4, 0x00000000). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini052707-01.dmp.

Referenced to NV4DISP.DLL (display driver)

So, is there a problem between M&B 0.808 and the latest Nvidia drivers?
Because no other games have done this.. I've tried Supreme Commander, Medieval 2 Total War.. etc. No problems what so ever.

Attached the dumpfile. I haven't tried M&B since this. I have posted about this on their forum also. Just thought I'd check with you guys' thoughts on what the minidump says. I am thinking a problem with the latest nvidia driver and M&B 0.808. But I dunno..

A:BSOD in Mount & Blade, in the Tournament Arena

The process in that dump is explorer.exe. Do a search on your system to see that you have only one instance of it, in C:\Windows.

You also have three files on your system that show no hits on Google or Yahoo. Do a search on your system to see what they belong to.

Hello, I bought a Razer Naga a week ago and I seem to be having problems with it a lot during that week.
The problems I am getting are blue screen errors, and I have not been getting these only since I bought the new mouse. First was when I was playing WoW, and suddenly, when I clicked the left mouse button it minimized the game, and I realized I couldn't press anything with my left button except the task bar, then a few seconds later I got a blue screen of death. Then a few days later, I was just browsing through the my pc, going through my files, then again my left mouse button wasn't working, got a Blue screen of death again.
Just now I was playing WoW and my game just froze (I think it was when I clicked the bottom left button where, the back and forward button) It's what I use to get on my mounts in game, Please don't just say it's because of the macro keys, because like I mentioned above it did it just on my desktop. Plus I do have the latest drivers/software, so could you please help with my problem.

OK, this is a recent update (I posted this on a wrong forum, so updating while I can) I went to event viewer, and I noticed the problem was with my graphics card driver, so I've uninstalled, used DriverSweeper to get rid of anything, and re-installed just incase it could be a problem with just the GPU drivers.

But on the earlier BSOD's I am not sure if was because of my GPU drivers, this is why I need anyones help with my problem here.

Hi everyone,

I have recently encountered blue screens while playing World of Warcraft for an hour or so. I believe it is a compatibility issue with my Razer drivers for my Lycosa keyboard and Naga mouse. I have also requested help from Razer but from reading the forum I believe you guys might be able to help me out.
I am not too knowledgable on the driver verifier software but I had been using it with default settings and sellecting all drivers. This had resulted in blue screens right after the Windows load screen only after the Lycosa or Naga drivers had been installed. It did not occur after any other driver isntallation.
I have also used the verifier settings suggested here and this results in a blue screen, after log in, after installing the Lycosa driver (minidump attached) but the Naga driver apparantly only causes verifier to blue screen with standard settings and all drivers selected (minidump attached). Is the dump for the Naga using these settings even useful? What does it mean?
I believe I have all the latest drivers installed as well as having Windows fully updated.
Any help would be much appreciated!

CPU - Intel i5 760

Ok, this is a long one. but i havent found any help even from my school tech administrators. and at razer support either. so ill suite this as best as i can.

First off, i have windows 7 home premium 64 bit. had it for about 1 month so far. and i got a razer deathadder mouse. installed all the drivers and firmware updater's. then i loaded up my game soldier front. played it for about 3-5 min and then screen freezes, blue screens, gives memory dumps. all that.

When i uninstall the drivers and just plug in play the mouse, it all works fine, no bsod's. so its clearly the drivers.

i went into the event viewer and found the stuff about the bsod's that got caused. and this is what came up.

The only time this does not happen is if I plug it in before startup and after shut down. I have made a thread a while before, on the topic of random BSOD and there were multiple offenders which I believed WERE NOT the problem. Now, I do know the exact specific problem. I can recreate this problem any time I want to. The BSOD range from IRQL driver less or equal to, to ntfs.sys. The problem is WITH the mouse and my laptop. How do I fix this? I have tried both the drivers for the deathadder and the one labeled windows. The USB port works with other devices, iphone, cooling pad, etc. But, it seems to not be compatabile with the razer deathadder? THIS IS RECENTLY HAPPENING. I had no such problems like this before. Razer DeathAdder drivers were known to cause BSOD's a while back. If you have older drivers installed, this could be the cause. Please update your drivers from the Razer support website: Razer Support

Hello, i recently bought a Razer DeathAdder 3500DPI and i have been experiencing BSOD when i am playing a fps game called AVA. Sometimes i experience BSOD while just surfing the net.

I have the settings for 1000hz polling rate and 3500DPI.
Current Razer Driver: 3.0
Current Firmware: 2.33

I tried all three versions of the drivers, still causing BSOD: 2.0, 2.01, 3.0
newest driver 3.0: link

When i uninstall the razer mouse drivers and only use default drivers,
everything is fine and no BSOD.
Therefore i believe there are some compatibility issues with the drivers and windows 7 64 bit.

A:Razer Lachesis mouse driver installation causes BSOD

Yah, from the past two crashdumps (both dated April 5), it's definitely the mouse drivers (Lachesis.sys reported for both), and it's performing the same exact thing. I can't tell without a kernel dump what's actually going on, but whatever it did, it looks like it's corrupted the crashdumps as well (lots of information is zeroed).

Are you installing the correct drivers for it? You are installing the Windows 7 64-bit drivers, yes? I've noticed as well researching this that many other people are experiencing awful compatibility issues with 64-bit version of Vista and their Lachesis, and I'm feeling that this incompatibility has transferred over to Windows 7 as well.

Further inspection has me eyeballing a particular driver that kept unloading itself, thrice in each crashdump, that being LVUSBS64.sys. I know from research it's related to a USB Logitech device, most likely a webcam or speakers, but not entirely sure on that. You should determine this based on your own personal PC setup. Whatever Logitech item you have, you may wanna go into Device Manager and right click the device then click "Disable". Restart the PC. Then install the Lachesis drivers and restart as usual. If it still crashes, just simply consider the Lachesis as being incompatible to Windows 7 environment. Otherwise, it may very well be the Logitech device doing something funky and the Lachesis drivers have been left with the bag.

Hi,

I?m, new here and I need help getting rid of something called BD Blade Runner 0.80a. It is apparently a Trojan horse.

I am running a Dell Inspiron 8200 with Windows XP SP1. I have subscribed to Norton Antivirus, Personal Firewall, and Internet Security services since I bought the computer. A few weeks ago, I began getting a message that Norton had detected and blocked an intrusion attempt by BD Blade Runner 0.80a with a source listed as 127.0.0.1 ( i.e. my own computer) . When I tried to search for the term ?Blade?, ?Runner?, ?Trojan Horse?, or similar terms and combinations, in various search engines (including Yahoo, Google, and Symantec?s own Virus Dictionary? , I get ?page cannot be displayed?? and, until recently, the intrusion alert from Norton over and over again. I spent a frustrating couple of days on the phone with Symantec?s help desk (the one apparently in India), checking ?hosts? files and deleting Temp files with no success. All they could tell me that whatever BD? was it was resident in my operating system and they kept shuffling me back and forth between their technical support and virus removal groups, trying things they were ?sure would solve my problem? I finally gave up on them,

Subsequently, had a friend do a search on BD Blade Runner from his computer since I?m blocked every time I try. That led me to a similar request for help from someone to the Elephant Boy site. I followed all the malware removal instructions that were given by ele... Read more

Hello,

I was weeding through search results and came across this site where sane people seem to inhabit. I am trying to decide on a network tool kit for punchdowns. The Fluke IS60 Protocol Kit looks decent, but I am a bit confused on the blades. There are 66, 110, and 66/110 cut blades. The cabling being run is Cat6. Which particular blade would be best suited to this? Or, at least, what are the differences between the 3? Taking a guess, I'd say that the 66/110 has 66 on one end and 110 on the other while "cut" implies that the slack wire is snipped when the tool impacts.

Any help regarding this would be greatly appreciated. Also, if there is a better a solution with regards to the IS60, I would like to hear those as well. I've used Fluke in the past and our IT department has what appears to be an IS60, but that only means I could be sheltered and they could be ... well, if the IT department was competent, I wouldn't be running on my own line.

Thanks again.

A:Fluke blade connector

Hello jformica,

I'm only just entering the world of networking and am not quite at the stage of wiring installations so none of what I say is from experience.

It looks like your assumption is correct and the 66/110 cut blade is a reversible blade that can be used for either 66 or 110 blocks. The individual blades are for the specific block and would be incompatible with the other block type so I would go for the 66/110 reversible cut blade as it gives your more options.

With regards to differences, it appears to come down to the exact connection type used on 66 and 110 blocks. They both have slightly different connectors and so require different tools when punching down. As to the benefits of each I'm afraid I can't comment as have never used either but from what I have read in the last 10 minutes it looks like you will be best off using a 110 for Cat6.

Hope that helps a little and hopefully someone else maybe able to give you a more definitive answer.

I managed to rescue a WORKING HP BL490c G6 Server Blade System 2X Intel Xeon E5540 CPU?s 72GB RAM from the local Tip !!! - some people have more money than sense.

Any idea how I'd go about neatly adding 4 - 8 HDD bays to this. Power of this server looks like it can easily replace my 2 NAS servers with a single "Box".

If it gets too messy I'll have complaints again !!!

Any ideas for a NEAT setup -- I'm reasonable with Carpentry and metalwork.

Please update your Profile, it still says you are running Vista.
First, try the drive on another computer.
Run Check Disk on the Drive.
Press the Win key+X choose Command Prompt (Admin) with the SanDisk drive in, in the Command Prompt type the drive letter of the USB Flash drive (ie) G: and press enter (ie) G:\> At this prompt type chkdsk /R and press enter. Now type a Y to Unmount the drive. This should correct the file system. If it fails, the Flash Drive may have failed.

BLADE: Can it stop drive-by malware? | IT Security | TechRepublic.com

Quote:
BLADE (BLock All Drive-by download Exploits), the brainchild of researchers from College of Computing at Georgia Institute of Technology and SRI International, is positioned to help stem the tide of drive-by malware. A big deal according to Dasient.com, the company is tracking over 200 thousand different web-based malware threats.

Quote:
To spot unsolicited download attempts, BLADE places the following processes in kernel space,
User-interaction tracking: BLADE uses a screen parser, hardware-event tracer, and a supervisor to track the user?s physical interactions with the web browser, specifically when download authorization is asked for.
Consent correlation: This process is required by BLADE to distinguish between transparent downloads and those requiring user permission.
Disk I/O redirection: When BLADE locates un-authorized downloads, it redirects the code to a secure zone. The data is also prevented from loading into memory as an executable.

According to the research paper, almost 19,000 trials have taken place, with zero false positives and zero false negatives. Meaning, BLADE prevented in-the-wild drive-by malware from installing in every case.

Hello, while cleaning the laptop with compressed air (with the bottom cover removed), I accidentaly broke off a single blade on the CPU fan. Since the fan consists of two layers (cooling blades are both on the upper and the lower side) and the blades are very small, I think there should not be any long-term damage from an unabalanced fan. What do you guys think? Should I get a new (or used) cooling fan? The laptop is now 3 years old and I plan to keep it for 5 more years (I use it daily for 6-8 hours and it runs for 12-14 hours per day). Thanks.

http://www.tridentmicro.com/drivers/drivers.html

Update your directX....

and run the directX diagnostics.....start/run. Type in dxdiag. Run through the tests. See if there is any problems.

Change your refresh rate. Right click anywhere on your desktop. Choose properties>settings>advanced>adapter. Maybe change from optimal to default and see if there is a difference.

Hope this helps.

the touch panel is a bit hit and miss, I hear this is common on earlier builds of this product but this is well newer then the ones mentioned in the razer support forums

when it works, its fine but then it will just stop ( just the touch pad the rest in fine) I think its driver related as when I check in device manager there are 3 keyboards showing ....... so, right click properties to check 'em out and disable the 2 that dont refer to razer ... still the same
uninstall them .. not much better and on reboot all 3 are there again

any thoughts guys ??
