Yoga 2 Pro peeling rubber coating

Q: Yoga 2 Pro peeling rubber coating

I've had my Yoga 2 pro for 3 days now and the rubberized paint is peeling off at the left corner of the spine. I'm afraid the peeling will happen over a large area. Has anyone found anything that will stop the peeling. Will a thin coat of nail polish help? Ideas?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

This sounds like a manufacturing defect. My Y2P is one year old and no peeling so far.

Hi Anis.P,Thanks for posting.Unfortunately, hinges are not covered under the warranty, they are considered normal wear and tear items.  You may be able to speak to the Dell Tech Support technicians and troubleshoot why this is happening, but they will be the ones who decides if it's warranty or wear and tear.  http://dell.to/2wW7EjD

Hello, The rubber coating on the lid of my T430 is down to the plastic in places. Looking quite a mess. Does anyone know of a way to remove the rubber coating or remove the whole back cover so I can replace it? I've tried alcohol - no joy. Can't seem to find any tutorials on youtube either for the back cover replacement. Thanks, Benjamin.

My lenovo l380 yoga has some kind of layer peeling off the glass touchscreen, and on the bezels as well. This is the 3rd time I've had a problem with this device in 3 months. I don't want to send my computer to the depot back AGAIN, as it took around 1 month last time, and I spent so many hours on the customer service line, trying to find out the status, and waiting for parts.Im not very sure what this is, but I don't think this is supposed to happen, and if anyone could help out, that would be appreciated. The image of the peeling is below.

For what I have looked arround, Lenovo does not offer a part number for an anti-glare screen protector/coating.
Maybe you can find a 14" or 15" (depending on your size) coating on Amazon or ebay, but I have no idea where to get those in Russia.

Part number 00JT241 - where can I order them? Two of the rubber feet from my Yoga S3 14 have repeatedly fallen off, this time they are lost. For some reason I expect a business laptop to be built for standard use, such little problems make for big annoyance. I need replacements, have a part number, but can't find a source - and I don't expect to buy a housing for my laptop to replace tiny rubber parts because Lenovo used an inadequate glue. I've had terrible experience with Lenovo customer service, especially in connection with a laptop I bought for my daughter, which was held in service for 5 WEEKS!!! and returned with no repair other than a reformatted hard drive. I had to get very loud in order to get the machine back at all. This is unacceptable, and can only make good business customers look for other manufacturers. Lenovo, are you listening?

Hello I have a P40 Yoga Machine type 20GQ. The rubber feet have come off. MT 20GQ has 2 round feet up front and 2 rectangular feet in back. I am having a huge amount of difficulty with my laptop sliding around my desk now. I called Lenovo support and they were unable to find a CRU or FRU for this part. I cannot fathom why, so weird. Obviously something has happened to the adhesive that held these pads on, they all fell off at once. In addition, I had a technician out to repair the power button on this laptop and the rubber filler that cover the screw holes up front also had denatured adhesive and they all fell out. Lenovo support was unable to help me with this product issue, is there any other resource that can help me get new rubber feet and rubber screw covers for my laptop? Thank you -Jeff

Hi guys!

I have a CD that I burnt a while ago. Unfortunately the edge of the face coating is peeling (i.e. now you can see through it) which is stopping my CD Drive from being able to read the data.

Is there any trick to fixing this? Can I use some kind of material to "coat" the CD again?

Look forward to hearing any tips.

Thanks in advance.

A:Peeling CD - How do I fix it?

As soon as the data layer starts to peel, there is no way saving it. Even if it is on the very edge and has no data on it, it is not saveable in anyway.

Basically, you gotta look after your CD's better.

A:Peeling Screen

This could be a heat issue, have you checked to see if you have a build up of dust on the heat sink and fan on the CPU?If this isn't the case, look in the Event Viewer to see what errors appear at the time that you are experiencing these freezes. All events are log with a date and time.Start> right click on My Computer> Manage> Event Viewer. Be sure that you choose System. The error will appear in the far left column and will appear as a red dot with a white X inside. Each of the columns has a title at the top of them, the column that you want is the Event column. When you see an error follow it to the right across the page to the event column, there will be a set of numbers in there, this is the error code. If you right click on the error code a drop menu will appear, click on Properties, another page will open which will contain a description of the error. Please post the error codes and descriptions back in this topic.

My computer was running really slow so I ran AVG Antivirus and Ad-Aware but nothing untoward was detected. I thought maybe it was full of junk ( I didn't know what was junk and what wasn't) so I decided to reformat. I did this and everything seemed fine initially. It was opening and closing programs very quickly. That was a few weeks ago and yet again the same thing is happening again. Its started running really slow. The windows don't close instantly but peel down ever so slowly.

I downloaded all the updates after I reformatted from Microsoft like it advised and ended up with all these:
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 185.00MB
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 2 208.00MB
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 28.04MB

Could this have anything to do with it's performance? Anyway, today I ran Avg Anivirus and Analyzer. No virused were detected but it did detect 868 errors:( Ad-Aware hasn't shown up any spyware or malware.

My System Properties are Windows XP Home Version 2002. I have an Intel?Pentium?4 CPU 3.00GHz and 448MB of RAM

I don't have games, lots of photos and music files. Only regular stuff like MS Office and the like
I would really appreciate any advice you can give me

A:Slow PC and Peeling Windows

<<today I ran Avg Anivirus and Analyzer...>>

What is Analyzer?

448MB of RAM can run XP...adding Office increases the toll on the system. If you have many other such applications installed...you need to look at removing them...or increasing the amount of RAM for the system, IMO.

Hi Guys

I wondered if anyone knew how to prevent the screen protector on my iPod Touch (4th gen) from peeling off. There is a small part in the bottom left corner that keeps on coming up a bit. I think it is caused by the (rubber-like) iPod Case that I have which sort of pushes on the corner of the screen protector causing it to come up/out. If I remove the case then it is fine, but I need the case to hide all the scratches on the back!

The case is a CAPDASE case which is a bit stretchy and translucent. It protects the back

When I try to "tuck" it under the screen protector it stays fine for a minute or so but then it comes off again

Any ideas. Might glue work? Will it damage the screen

It is only one corner. The rest of the front is perfect

Thanks in advance

EDIT: It is a CAPDASE Soft Jacket 2 XPOSE

A:Prevent screen protector from peeling off

That "screen protector" is used during manufacture and shipping of the iPod and you can remove it anytime to solve this problem

My problem is that My PS2 will not play them at all and my laptop will only play Transformers and even then for about 30 minutes only. Is it the coating on the dvd or something else?

Thank you for your help.

What do mean "purple coating?" Is it some kind of translucent paint? Is it the color of store-bought, writable DVDs? Did someone sell you pirated discs? Is this coating sticky, like grape jelly or something?

I have had my laptop for just under 3.5 years and it has served me great as a college student. Just now I tried opening the laptop and it made a cracking sound, after slowly opening it I found that the black plastic border on the lower right side is not anchored to the metal backing of the screen anymore. I can push it back in place but it doesn't snap in place. I would really like to get it fixed but not sure how to go about doing that or whether or not it is something I can do myself. It is pretty inconvenient as I have to be very cautious about opening and closing the screen and it is very inconvenient as a college student.

My wife used Windex (more than once apparently) to clean my CRT flat screen monitor. I noticed wat I thought was a bad scratch, but upon further examination I see that the antiglare coating has been damaged in several places. I tried to remove the ramaining coating (It's annoying to have splotches of bright color and the rest of the screen being darker) by using more Windex and rubbing hard, but didn't affect it at all. What can I use that isn't too abrasive to damage the glass, but will still get coating off?
Thanks

A:Anti-Glare Coating...

I have seen some people recommend toothpaste (not the gel type) on a paper towel as its a very mild abrasive.

I have used it to polish plastic and glass, as it has no harmful chemicals in it.

It will take some effort though, best give the job to your wife as a "reward" for the Windex?

I have been using my T560 for more than a year now with no major issues until now. Since I dont have a mouse, my only input option was to use the touchpad combined with the trackpad buttons. I have noticed that the coating of the touchpad have displayed slight wear looking in one area more 'oily' than the other, which i could understand. But now, I cannot explain how it happened that during a normal use the coating cracked under my nail, initially leaving uncomfortable scratch; then after few more rubs pretty big pieces started to chip off. The touchpad in the affected are still works fine but the terrible experience of smdging across it forced me to use mouse from now. Isnt there a way to remove the old coating and put the new layer to the touchpad? Or I have to replace the entire pad? Shouldnt it be covered by my warranty since I have 1.5 years left?

How did it go? Should I contact warranty or it'll be worthless?
