Still no mic i checked the settings in the sound and nothing is muted and all bars are at high. I can hear everyone but no one can hear me.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hello BIGGD,
Have you configured the mic in the control panel ?.
Go to control panel and open Sound, there you will see a panel that looks like this, highlight the mic you are using and configure.

Also if you are using the mic in a game, you may need to configure the mic in the game sound options, make sure you dont need to press a key to transmit.
Hope some of this helps, Good luck and post your results.

I know Creative have released a beta driver for this headset: HSHP_W7DRVBETA_US_1_01_0003.exe
Link: Creative Worldwide Support

However, I'm just wondering if its worth it?
Win7 picked up the headset fine and everything has been working "straight out of the box".
I only had to change the name of the device in audio properties to distinguish between speakers and headset. Mic has worked perfectly and sounds fine with no adjustments. (Tested on ventrillo)

The only thing drivers/package seems to offer is changing EQ settings or various "technologies" available which im not interested in.

or is there something else i'm missing which I would need the drivers for?

A:Fatal1ty USB Gaming Headset HS-1000

I have the same thing my problem is I had the Eval copy of Ultimate did a fresh install of Home Pre (no need for Ultimate and free copy) all driver install...I have sound BUT it stutters, lags and the CD drivers and the "Windows 7 Beta" driver do the same. Even the Windows Update drivers sound horrid. I dont get what the deal it. RC Eval Copy works flawless. Retail Final...sounds like crap. If anyone can find a solution I would love it.

I just bought a new set of Creative Fatal1ty HS-1000 USB Gaming Headset .
For some reason it is giving me major trouble in Vista with very poor quality *pretty much like major lag* and a lot of clicking sounds.
I know its not the headset because I checked them out on a xp laptop and they worked amazingly.
Any help would be awesome, I downloaded the latest drivers for them... Still have the same problem.
Speakers work fine, so its not the computers hardware.

I just purchased a Fatal1ty Gaming Headset (jacks, not USB) from newegg.com and for some reason i cant get the mic to work. I've browsed these forums for a few hours now looking for an answer but I cant seem to find anything that works for me. I've feel like I've tried everything. The computer only recognizes the mic build into my computer, which is just picking up white noise from my fan (hence the mic)

My computer is a Macbook Pro 17" (Bootcamped Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit)

Attached is an image of the recording devices pane.

A:Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset - Mic Issues

The Stereo Mix should be set as the default recording device (then whatever is plugged in you should hear). When you plug in the headset, does it show the microphone as connected? (or whatever yours states for an active device).

You can click on a device and get another panel which has a volume control for the device.

Hey guys, basically I ordered one of these a couple days ago and it just won't work for me I don't hear any sound nor am I able to speak to people. However the red light does appear, meaning it does have power. A CD does come with it yet everytime I 'install' the driver nothing actually happens and I am prompted to install it even though I've tried a dozen times. I'm using Windows Vista, 32bit at the moment and I was hoping if you could help me out.

Anything you need to know, I'll be happy to answer.
Any help is appreciated, thanks

I'm new and I just bought a Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset with mic, and the mic doesn't work! I heard you are supposed to let the computer know you want it analog, and not digital or something, but I don't know how to change all this.
I know very little about computers but the problem with this mic is not that I did not switch it from Mic-off to Mic-on, or that I have the volume of. I'm not a fool.
I just don't know about computers so I need your help cuz you guys know.

Pretty please with sugar on top, help me

A:Fatal1ty Gaming Headset, you guys know this

Bump, also got probs with this. The mic works, but the sound is very unclear, and I can hardly hear my voice(when I record myself). It's alot of buzzing, extremely irritating.

Here you go, a clip, you can hardly hear my voice there. This is so frustrating, have been toying with a lot of settings but it is no go.

Yey, I solved it. Just had to fix the mic-boost settings. See pic.

Welcome to the forums naajhoo!

It sounds like the connection in the headset (where the mic plugs into the earpiece) is the most likely cause for your woes! Especially since it works when plugged directly into your PC.

But I am assuming you have it set as the default mic when you have it in the headset?

Today I went out and bought this headset and a new graphics card. The gfx card is fine but I'm having a little problem with the headset.

It has both a microphone wire and an audio wire (pink and green ones). I have these two sockets on the front of the PC and both sockets along with others on the back of the PC. When I plug it into the front the microphone works but the headphones don't and when I plug it into the back, the headphones work but the microphone doesn't.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Alright, so I got the Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset for Christmas, and because I have rather crappy luck, of course something had to go wrong. This time, it was the mic. It simply doesn't register-or at least, I don't think it does.

Stats (if they will help):
Windows 64-bit, Dell custom laptop

So...is it a problem with the mic, something I did wrong? Any help will be appreciated.

A:Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset Mic not working

To me; it appears that the mic looks like its working as there are no x's or exclamation points or anything else through it to tell that there is a problem. However; have you tried to update drivers for your audio card if there applicable? If not i would give that a shot and see if there are any updated drivers for the device(if any drivers are required of course).

EDIT: have you tried speaking into the mic to see if windows detects the noise levels? If not try it out and see what happens.

Hi all,

I am posting this for a friend:

I have recently bought a new headset, because I saw it at a friends' and I liked it alot. When I plugged it in, everything worked fine. But in my first skype call, people could hear all the sounds I heard, except for themselves.

So I tried muting my microphone, but that made it even worse. It was like my stereo mix was the recording device. People could hear everything, just as if it was their sound. The weird thing is that they do not hear themselves.

Edit: My friend, who has the same headset, has no problems at all with it.

Help would be really appreciated,

Hi, i was wondering if anyone could help.

I recently installed Windows 7 (build 7100), and now am unable to get the mic to work on my headset (Creative Fatal1ty).

I've changed it to the default, but it's just not picking up any sound. Tried it with skype, ventrilo and the speech recognition software and nothing. I've also checked everything is connected correctly and have pretty much run out of ideas.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey there, i am having a problem with my Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset - the microphone doesn't want to work... oddly. I have tried the sound setting but it doesn't seem to work.
I started of by going to Sound > Recording > then it says three thing:
Microphone .... with a tick beside it ... working
Microphone FP .... Not Plugged in (When it clearly is)(Headset comes with detachable Mic)
Digital In... working.

Also when i try fiddle with the setting to enable the microphone it does not let me "configure" it .... and when i try set up the microphone it doesn't want to start up unless i disable the microphone it would say "Wizard could not start"

My Microphone is not on mute and the the jacks are correctly colour coded in place.
My sound Cards is : Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic
Headset: Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset - Noise Cancellation Microphone with Gold Plated 3.5mm Jack
It the one with the detachable microphone - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/128208
The microphone is defiantly working when i configure the speakers, so that i can speak through the microphone and hear out the speakers but i can't record
Thank You, look forward in reading your replies

Welcome to SevenForums.

What is the problem? How does the problem make itself visible/audible?
Carry out following and you should be sure to add info about your headset.

Update your SevenForums System Specs
User CP (located on the top menu bar) |
Your Profile | Edit System Spec (left-hand column)

To gather info, use Speccy (my favorite) or SIW or System Info

In the System Manufacturer Block, enter:
Manufacturer and Model and
ADD the word laptop, desktop, netbook or tablet.
For example:
Toshiba Satellite L305D notebook.

Provide full windows version info, for example:
MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Use the ?Other Info? block for Optical Reader,
Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor, etc

Scroll down and click on SAVE CHANGES.

You will find that in Speccy, you can select info from the display
using your mouse/touchpad and then paste that info into your specs.

SIW is a marvelous program, but the free version does not offer
this capability.

Hello everyone,

I have a Fatal1ty Creative headset which i am very fund of, but today the mic stopped working for some reason. I didn't change any settings or anything like that. My PC (vista) knows that the mic is connected, and it stands as "working" (which it is clearly not). I have tried to use the mic on another pc, but it didn't work their either. If I go to control panel -> sound and think the microfon, the green bar doesn't go up if i speak. However, if i tap the microfon hard, i can get small spikes of green bars.

The sad thing is that this is the SECOND of these excact headset microfones that stopped working for me. I had another headset just like this many years back, which suddenly got the same problem. We thought it was the wiring, because it looked a bit damaged. But this headset is newer and it doesn't have any visible damage atleast.

I'm kinda desparate, i use this headset all the time for talking on skype, so it would be great if I didn't have to buy a new headset again.

Thanks in advance

Hello everyone! I recently got a new "Creative Fatal1ty" Headset and it doesn't seem to be detected at all! I have 2 cables to plug in to the laptop, 1 for audio and 1 for microphone, but on my HP laptop there is only one hole for a cable! I plugged in both cables at different times but neither of them seem to be detected at all. I tried on my family's public pc, which is a dell, and it works perfectly fine. What is the problem here? I payed some money for this headset and laptop and this is quite annoying. Please solve this.

Today I got my new headset delivered after my old cheap one decided to lose all sound in the right hand ear-piece thing. I unpackaged it, noticed there wasn't a CD and thought, "Great, time to gamble.". Funnily enough, it didn't work. I tried restarting my computer, using the front analogue jacks... nothing. There's no support on the creative website either so I don't know what to do anymore. I looked in Device Manager, found "PCI Modem" with a yellow "?" next to it and I don't quite know what it is. I think it might be my sound card, but I checked on the VIA website and they didn't seem to have the correct drivers for my card. When I plug in my speakers, they work perfectly fine which makes me really wonder whether or not it is my sound card that has the issue.

I already have Everest, but I am willing to download any diagnostic tools if it will help you help me!

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi JBrito and welcome to Vista Forums

Check that you are plugging the mic into the correct socket - it should be coloured pink - and that it isn't set to mute or that the levels are too low. You might also need to enable mic boost. Also check the headset - is there a mute switch (or similar) on there to disable the mic?

hey all, yesterday I have bought myself a new headset which is well known for its fairly low price combined with a good quality device. I'm talking about the Creative Fatal1ty headset.

The reason I bought this headset was because my laptop's built-in mic is from a very crappy quality (the quality of the recorded audio is very poor). So now I have this headset there is one big problem, whenever I record sound or speak through Skype with my family/friends the headset is plugged in (and yes, I have plugged it in the correct headphone jack and microphone jack) into my laptop. But the sound that is being recorded is still being recorded by the built-in microphone and not by the microphone that is attached to my headset. How do I disable the built-in mic?

This is really annoying me...

You can either build your own or buy a pre-built one. Building your own would be the way to go and you'd get the best parts for your money, besides getting them cheaper individually and with warranty on every individual part. There are lots of guides available all over the net for building a pc. If you want to build one, here is a recommendation.

Old parts: mouse + keyboard, monitor, speakers
OS: don't have
Cooling: preferably nothing beyond what comes stock

So... what I came up with on the fly and I'd like your advice on is this...

cooler master scout @ $100
Corsair TX750 750W PSU @ $95
Phenom II x2 555 @ $125 (why's there no BE on NCIX?)
OCZ 1333MHz 9-9-9-20 2x2GB Memory @ $110
Radeon 4870 @ $195 (not necessarily at ncix for that price)
Gigabyte MA770T UD3P Mobo
Western Digital 1TB Black @ $96
Windows 7 OEM @ $118
Any DVD ROM @ $30

Comes to under 1000.

Some thoughts to begin with... I would have liked to throw in a quad core processor (or core i CPU) as well as a 5000 series GPU . but the budget told me to stick with a dual core AMD and a cheaper graphics solution. not sure if that's realy the right sacrifice... but that's what i did.

PSU... not sure how much wattage i need. just pulled 750 out of the air.

Case... not sure what's really necessary.. but the Scout looks pretty cool =\

I'd really appreciate som... Read more

This setup gets you a MB that has the 750 Southbridge that you need to unlock the disabled cores. The x3 720 can be had for around the same price, is a black edition, will give you a full Ghz OC, and has three cores even if the 4th core will not unlock, or is a dud. (important because more and more games are using 2+ cores). The 5830 is close to the 4870 in performance, but you get DX 11 for future considerations. The cpu is a BE for easier and more flexible OC'ing. I threw in there an after market cooler for OC'ing. The MB has a second PCIE slot for VGA upgrade if the mood strikes you Newegg CA would not connect when i tried it a few mins ago, so I will let you find them if you like it.

Hi guys,

I want to build a new rig because my old one just died recently. Found out it was the motherboard so I don't want to replace it because the entire rig is pretty old. I've had it since 2004. So at the moment I have $1000 in my pocket to spend. I plan on saving to buy for the rest of the other stuff like LCD and new case later on when I get some cash. So if you guys could help me decide which parts are best to buy. I specifically want this for gaming since I'm a hard core gamer. Some things I should note:

- On my second computer I have 2 8800GTs 512 in it so I am able to just take one temporarily until I get the cash to buy something more decent. After that I do want to keep saving to buy more and more parts. so eventually I want to be running tri sli gfx cards.

- Also when I buy the ram I could run off 2gb for the time being until I get cash so I can go 4.

- I need to get a new computer asap because I have work on there that needs to be processed and completed which I am unable to do on my second computer because there is some sort of incompatibility and it doesn't detect the hard drives at all. Although the hard drives still work got my friend to test them on his old computer. So it's best I get something done now in order to access these files and complete my work.

- Not only am I a gamer I do a lot of work relating to 3D and rendering.

-So I plan on buying the parts bit by bit and running off what I can. Like I said I am able to use m... Read more

Hello hello. I'm new to this site and well.. I've never done research into computers before. I game when I can but i kind of make due with what I have and I'd like to put an end to that and buy something more for me.

I'm going to a gaming school next term. I will be using some demanding 3d programs for modeling as well as using it for gaming and then some more gaming.
My total budget is around 1000 dollars but I can manage 1200 or so.
I live in the U.S, Pennsylvania. Will be moving to pittsburgh soon.
I'm always busy so I do not have time to sit down and build a computer. I wish I did. More so than anything I'd like to know what specs to look for in a computer above others.

So, basically i'm an artist who doesn't know the first thing about computers other than how to use them. The game I plan on getting into when I move out is final fantasy 14. if my new pc can at least run that smoothly on pretty high settings I'll be more than content.

The reason I came to this site is to maybe open my eyes a little bit and send me in the right direction (to help me avoid spending too much or too little) I wont expect someone to do research for me, though that would be nice. Some general computer brand/models suggestions and your ideas on them would be awesome.

thank you ahead of time. I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, though it seems like the right one.

Im sorry. I would like the price to inclu... Read more

Takes less than two hours first time off, from my experience. IMO well worth it, and much faster than any prebuil system under $1300 USD.

What size harddrive? What size monitor (also widescreen or no)? Would you like to include an OS/software/peripherals?

Alright, so I'm a college student and between work-study and the occasional random job, I've got a bit of extra cash that I don't immediately need to throw at tuition, so I figured it's about time for a computer upgrade. My troubleshooting thread here ended with the conclusion that my old comp's hard drive is shot, and as my graphics card could probably use an upgrade too, I figured I might as well get a new system.

Price Range: Obviously, the target would be around 1000 bucks. I could probably stretch to around 1200ish and of course if I waited a bit longer, I'd have more money. But... waiting sucks.

My old system:

500 gb hard drive
4 gb DDR2
Pentium E2220 (C) 2.4 GHz (65W)
GeForce 8600 GT OC
vista 32-bit

What I'm lookin for:

A gaming computer. I don't need the computer for any whips and jingles, id est Blu-ray, DVD burner, webcam... whatever the young folks are up to these days. I just want to game. I've looked around at Best Buy and newegg, but I don't feel as comfortable as I used to shopping for computers. The only thing I've really been playing intensively latey is League of Legends, which I can play on low settings on my current rig. However, I'm probably going to pick up Dragon Age: Origins soon and of course, there's a lot of pretty graphically intensive games coming out soon with Christmas approaching.

Basically, I want a computer that I won't have to worry about upgrading for a while, but ... Read more

That's everything i need, i already have all other peripherals and OS (Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit)
My expectations are to be able to play the majority of modern games, on decent to good settings. So my question for you all is- Are there any changes i can make to save some $$ or just more practical modifications. All those things came up to about 920$ before taxes and as you can see all I'm working is 1,000$

Soo! All advice is appreciated.

Building my first pc, looking for some advice on which parts to buy, here's some info:

* I want to build a gaming PC
* I want to spend about $900-1000(that's not including shipping/tax to keep things simple).
* I live in California, USA
* I want to buy from newegg
* I am not reusing any old parts from an earlier build
* I haven't bought any parts yet
* I do not need any peripherals
* I don't have an OS and I want windows 7 home
* Since this is my first time building a PC, I would like to avoid liquid cooling and stick with fans, I also don't plan on overclocking.
* Full size case is fine; I don't plan on moving PC for lans etc.
* I do modding on an older game which has trouble with radeon drivers, so I want a nVidia card.

All help is appreciated

Hey guys,
Recently I have been looking around for components for a decent gaming pc capable of running some of the latest games such as Battlefield ¾, Arma II/III (DayZ), Skyrim (with mods), Minecraft (with mods) and various others at high to max settings. I'm in Perth and have a budget of around $1400 (without monitor or peripherals), I've been looking at MSY Perth as they have the cheapest parts. I have come up with a list of components I have found online.
CPU- Intel Core i5-3570k Quad Core ($235)
CPU Cooler- Cooler Master V8 ($54)
(originally I went for the CM TPC 812 but couldn't find it on the MSY website)
MoBo- ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ($134)
Memory- G.Skill Ares series 8GB (2x4) 1600Mhz ($69)
HDD- Seagate Barracuda 1TB 64mb 7200RPM ($69)
SSD- Samsung 840 series 120GB ($95)
Graphics Card- MSI 7950 3GB OC ($329)
Case- Cooler Master Storm Enforcer ($86)
(Feel free to suggest another case, though I'd prefer a case with a side window and a few USB 3 or 2 ports)
PSU- Antec HCG-520M ($98)
OS- Windows 7 Professional 64 bit ($138)
OD- Asus Black 24x ($22)
This is without the mouse, keyboard or headset, though I plan later on to buy the Razer Deathadder 2013 and am still yet to decide on a keyboard (I'd love any suggestions, I think I'd prefer a good quality MX Cherry red or brown mechanical keyboard) and headset (feel free to leave a suggestion). I'm not looking for a monitor in this build but maybe if anyone knows a good quality, cheap monitor i... Read more

A:$1000-1200 Gaming PC (Feedback)

As a fellow Perth dweller, I highly recommend you order your parts from an online store such as Mwave or PC Case Gear. They are cheaper than pretty much any local store and have a much larger range of components (I recommend you purchase your Case and Monitor locally, as they cost a fair bit to ship). You can save some money buy buying from multiple stores as well, just keep an eye out for good deals.

As for your build, I'm liking most of it, I have a couple of suggestions however.

I wouldn't bother with a V8 for the cooler, I's suggest downgrading to a Hyper 212X (newer version of the 212 Evo). They are more popular and can guarantee good results.

If you can stretch it, go for the Samsung 840 Pro for your SSD, as they are significantly better than the non-pro.

I think your PSU is cutting it pretty fine, and I'd definitely suggest an upgrade. I'd get a 650W or even a 750W form Corsair or Seasonic, as this will leave some headroom for you to upgrade in the future.

As for the case, the choice is really up to you and your personal taste. I like the look of the Corsair Carbide 300R for your price range.

I'd also recommend getting Windows 7 Home Premium to save cash, unless you want professional for a specific reason.

At Mwave.com with my suggestions, including a 650W PSU and shipping (I live near Claremont and it'll cost me $30 for shipping) the PC totals $1362. Buying your Case locally will shave a little more off the cost.

Like for everyone else. It's time for me to build a new computer, I've been stuck with this Dell Dimension 4600 piece of crap for around four years so I need something to lighten me up and let me play games like Age of Empires 3, Test Drive Limited or Company of Heroes etc smoothly.

Would anyone here like to help me out to find the best parts available for my budget at £1000, that includes the speakers, monitor and everything. If you want to help me out with just the tower/PC however, then that's fine. I can only go £100 above that, and nothing more, but please try to keep it under

I also need a recommendation for a near permanent case that can easily be used to upgrade hardware since I want this to be my longtime gaming PC, so I will be making upgrades but not buying a whole new one.

I would really appreciate if anyone can help me out. I only have little technical knowledge of building computers so It'd be nice to see your recommendations.

Also I'm from the UK so UK shipping shops only please
