Manually deleted Adobe program and now all Adobe programs are affected

Q: Manually deleted Adobe program and now all Adobe programs are affected

I downloaded Adobe Photoshop (Portable) and installed it. Then I wanted to change the location where it was saved. I tried to move it but it couldn?t be moved so I copied and pasted it into a new location. I know I should uninstall but since I just wanted 1 copy, I deleted one.

After that, most of the other Adobe programs were affected. When I opened some, they would say that some files are missing or my license has expired. Some started asking for serial number or to register.

When I opened Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 it said Photoshop Elements Help was missing and there were missing icons on the right side.

So I uninstalled and reinstalled the programs. I downloaded some but they can?t be installed. It always says some files are missing.

What is the cause of the problem?
How can I fix this?

Preferred Solution: Manually deleted Adobe program and now all Adobe programs are affected

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I recently got a Toshiba Satellite S55 laptop with Windows 7 and I am very pleased with it.

I couldn't get my copy of Cool Edit Pro v2.1 to run on it, but was lucky enough to get a copy of Adobe Audition 3, which installed without any problems, and is very much like Cool Edit Pro, with many of the controls in the same locations onscreen. It has worked fine for editing existing audio.

I needed to record some audio directly off the Internet (legally) and everything seemed to work fine. Went to get a cup of coffee and when I returned, the short audio was done, so I stopped the recording and listened to make sure I had it. What I heard was the audio as it was recorded from the computer's built-in microphone and not directly from the computer. Horrible room ambience, as you can imagine.

First thing I did was to right-click on the speaker icon on the toolbar, then "recording devices," and disable the microphone. The caption reads: "Conexant SmartAudio HD" and was greyed out with note "disabled."

When I re-opened Adobe Audition, I got a message that said something about no audio (sorry, did not catch the exact wording). Clicking on it again opened the program, but the level indicators showed no audio at all going in. And I couldn't undo the greyed-out microphone icon to see if ANY audio was going in at all.

So, I googled around a bit for an answer and wound up deleting Conexant SmartAudio HD and then downloaded and installed the most rec... Read more

First avoid ASIO4ALL unless there is no other choice. Also ASIO4ALL has a 50/50 chance of working. I have a recording studio (using Sonar X3) and on the recording forums, the majority of posts about ASIO4ALL is negative.

You need the Stereo Mix to be set as the default recording device to record audio from the internet (and for audio work in many programs). Go to the Control Panel/Hardware and Sound and finally the Sound Panel, Recording Section. If Stereo Mix is shown, make it the default recording device. If its not shown, RIGHT click in a blank area in that panel and then click to Show Disabled and Disconnected Devices. Stereo Mix should now show up and you can enable it and make it the Default Recording Device.

With Stereo Mix you shouldn't need ASIO4ALL (which is just an emulator for ASIO).

I am wondering about the installation of Adobe Photoshop CS2 and i cant get it work without Administrator's right. How i can bypass or install it manually by unzip it? I did ask my admin, he say no but i am subborn, I HATE Photoshop ELEMENT! How i get a solution?

Maybe unzip the data1.cab and move it around within folders? that lot of works

A:Manually Install Adobe Photoshop CS2

You can't install it manually. The program is just like that, and usually speaking, the people who write applicaions such as photoshop naturally assume that those people who would install the program would have the rights to install programs on that system.

You clearly don't have the right to pick and choose what to install on that system. You seem to be talking about a company machine, and so I would advise you don't even think about it. If the Sys Admin is any good, you WILL get caught, and in all probability, he's made it impossible anyway.

I am relatively new to graphic design and imaging, but I have a question regarding my use of Adobe Illustrator CS3 and Adobe Photoshop CS3.

I have designed a logo in Adobe Illustrator CS3, and saved it as both an ".AI" file and an ".EPS" file.

Now, when I open the ".EPS" file in Adobe Photoshop CS3, it appears that the bright cyan (it's a white logo with one of the characters in bright cyan) is duller than what it seemed to be in Adobe Illustrator CS3.

Does anyone know why this would be, and what I can do to stop it?

On 9-June-2012 our Dell XPS 8300 started getting the BSOD when trying to open Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Contribute. From January 2012 through 9-June we have had no trouble with Adobe. Dear Forum,

I know I have to do either a clean install, or an in place upgrade install soon . However, I just would like to repair my CS5.0 Encore that started acting strange lately (no new programs/hardware installed). I uninstalled/reinstalled the whole suite several times (using Control Panel > Programs and Features, Adobe Clean Tool, and CCleaner64). I noticed that several Adobe folders remained (In Program Files, Program Files (x86), and in Common Files within those folders). I even had PrPro.exe with a dozen dll-s in one folder (which, of course, didn't work). I have two other Adobe programs (Adobe Media Player, and Adobe Reader X).

My question: What would happen if after a thorough uninstall of all three programs (maybe RevoPro, instead of Programs and Features?) and after having no Adobe product installed in the system, simply delete all folders/files that have anything "Adobe"? Would still be shared dll files that needed by other non-Adobe programs? Would the registry cleaner delete all the bad registry entries that created by simply deleting the Adobe files? If it works, I would do the in-place repair install of Win 7. Or I will be advised to try this just before I am ready for a clean install () in case, if this ruins the system.

I would greatly appreciate any helpful advice (and I understand that might not be an answer to these questions).

I was having the same problem with ADE reloading all of my old ebooks.

What I did to solve it was to delete the ebooks from ADE, then go into the "\My Documents\My Digital Editions" folder and physically delete the ebook files from there. That way, the ebooks aren't in the folder to reload the next time that ADE starts.

It's the only way that I found to get around it, other than not use ADE (which is pretty much impossible if you want to buy an ebook.)

It's sad when DRM forces us to use a genuinely sub-par program to download and read legitimately purchased ebooks. You're paying money for the ebooks and are essentially forced to use ADE. You would think that Adobe would at least put some effort into making it work well. But I guess when you're the only game in town... why would they care?

I created a pdf. file from a document that had 'fill-in forms'. I used Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0. to create the PDF file.

I then I burned the pdf. file on to a CD.

When I used my Adobe Reader 9.0 to open the PDF file, I could fill-in the forms, but not save them. I received a message that said I could not save the information, only print it unless I enabled the ‘local save capability’ in the original pdf. file.

I will be selling the CDs and need the buyer to be able to fill-in the forms, and then save the document on the CD or the buyer’s computer.

1. How do I enable the ‘local save capability’ on Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0, saving the document with the information typed into the fill-in forms?

2. How can I write protect the pdf. file so no one can edit it (except for the fill-in fields) nor duplicate the disk?

3. Has anyone bought a software product from www.SoftCaptain.com and if yes, what was your experience with the software product company?

I can't answer all of your questions, but data on a CD is read only, you won't be able to save the edited file on that CD.
It can only be saved on the hard drive & then burned to CD again, if necessary.

Try using System Restore (choose a date which precedes the start of the problem):
Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

When you do get it running properly, you should create a system image, the tools for which are already built-in to Windows 7 (Control Panel > Backup & Restore).
Then next time Windows get screwed up, re-installing from the image will be easy and it's way, way faster than installing Windows from scratch.

In other words Adobe is trying to open .exe programs like they are PDF files. It even changes some program icons to adobe icons. I looked at changing the file allocation in windows so .exe programs are not associated with Adobe …But windows does not let me change .exe extensions, I can’t even see .exe files... I can see about 100 other type of files though... I’m not sure if this is a problem in windows or Adobe… any one else have this problem?

However, when I try to install them (via original discs) on a fairly new HP laptop running Windows 8 (which came with the laptop), the computer doesn't even recognize them. When I click the installation button on the screen, the disc drive runs for a few seconds and stops. Nothing is installed.

I tried stopping my Webroot protection program, but that didn't make a difference. I tried installing with the installation disc first in the computer's drive and then in an external drive. Still no go.

Any thoughts as to why installation isn't occurring or how to make it work?

BTW, I expect someone will be tempted to suggest that I upgrade to newer Adobe versions, but these programs serve my needs, and I'd like to keep using them as long as possible. And they are working on other computers with recent operating systems.

I know this sounds like a hardware issue, but my computer recognizes and prints just not from certain programs. This has been going on for a few months. I can print from a browser, or my phone. But if I type something up in Word, and click print, nothing happens. No blank page, no error light or message. The printer icon will appear in the bottom right corner, but when I put my mouse over it, it says "0 document(s) pending". I've tried uninstalling and re-installing my printer software/drivers. I've tried using the USB cable, cause I normally use wireless. In the print setup in Word or Adobe (pdf's), I make sure my printer is selected, and nothing (same results). If I try typing a test document in "Notepad" i get an error message: "the parameter is incorrect". and will not proceed to print. I've tried the HP Scan & Print Doctor, and that says everything is working fine. I've updated the firmware for the printer and still had the same problem. I've also tried looking up this problem, but everyone else who had a similar problem, they were at least getting blank pages to come out of the printer. I get nothing.

For some odd reason, IE on my desktop won't download things. I tried to download Flash, McAfee Site Advisor and Firefox and nothing happens. I had just downloaded Avast security on the computer so I thought maybe that was the issue so I uninstalled that and installed AVG instead (I was able to download AVG fine). Nothing. I went to Tools>Internet Options>Security settings and made sure the download options were enabled and that the ActiveX items were enabled and nothing. I've rebooted after these changes, nothing. I'm all out of ideas...I just don't get it!

Oh, its a Vista system. And I was able to upgrade to IE8, but only via a Windows update, not through the site (tried it, didn't work).

A:Adobe Flash and other programs not downloading

I did a system restore back a month. All seems to be ok now.

Is there anyway to run programs such as Illustrator or Photoshop on the mat so that I can use my finger or a stylus to design? If not, is it possible in the future that the sprout will support this?

A:Running Adobe programs on Workspace

I've been working with a  Sprout a little bit, and I haven't seen any way to work on the touch mat with anything other than the Sprout workspace.  I certainly wouldn't have any idea if there were plans to incorporate that feature in the future. Thanks,

I have Vista home premium and downloaded Adobe Reader from Adobe website. The install seems fine until all the icons on the desktop change to be Adobe and clicking on anything just brings up Adobe Reader. If i uninstall Adobe everything goes back to normal. I have tried some regedit links, but nothing is working. Is there anything else I can try or am I not doing the regedit files correctly. even a manual fix would be okay. Pretty computer lit, but Vista is just a little different. I'm trying not to do a wipe and reload if at all possible.

Any and all help would be fantastic!!

A:Adobe reader replaces all *.exe programs

Hi computermd,First - When you installed the reader, did you download the installation program for Vista? Are you using this link?http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/If you didn't use this link and select Vista, then do that as the first attempt at a solution to this problem. If you've downloaded the correct installation program for Vista, and it's the Vista version that is causing the file association problem, you will find someone with this same problem where the solution offered is to uninstall Adobe and then run the .exe file association fix. However your file association problem seems to go away when you uninstall Adobe, so I wonder if you could use the file association fix after the installation at that point when the problem occurs. http://forums.techarena.in/vista-help/936013.htm Did either of the above work?Zllio

I am trying to change IE to open files in adobe instead of quicktime how and where do I do that? I have adobe at work and can page forward in documents and am unable to do this at home, because quicktime is loading the pages making only the first page viewable. I would appreciate some help. Thanks in advance.

OH yeah, i have windows me, ie6, and adobe 6.0

A:Changing program from quicktime to adobe

Easiest way to do this is to change the file association for the file you want to open.

In Windows Explorer, click Tools > Folder options > file types

look for the file you want top open in IE and change it there.

Hope this helps.

Hello, I have a catalog that the company I sell product for has converted for us into PDF's, they had to edit the photos and use a poorer quality so that the files would not be too large, I want to edit the pages and replace the photos with the better quality photos.

There are also some typos and general info I want to edit. So I need to purchase Adobe Acrobat.

My question is this, can I purchase version 6 since it's cheaper? I am not going to be doing much with this program, just editing some pages so I can print them myself. I can't see spending $200-$300 on it.

I did find a version 7 for $89.95 here http://www.studica.com/Adobe/ which is extremely cheap as far as I can tell, but I am leery these days about "good deals" as I have gotten taken to the cleaners a few times recently.

I did try to copy/paste the pages into my word and works word processors, but it messed up the pages and left out pictures and in general lost it's format.

Any advice appreciated!!

I'm looking for a decent mid level photo editiong program other that Photoshop or anything that complicated. I don't want one of those kindergarden looking programs either (something that looks like XP's interface). I do have Thumbs Plus and IrFan View. They are good, but limited. I'm not doing advanced photo editing, just cleaning up, cropping, color balancing photos and slides. The most advanced would be removing/adding a person or object from a scene and replaceing that with the background (maybe). No web design or anything as that.

Any suggestions?

A:Good photo editing program other than Adobe

Microsoft Digital Image Pro v9.0 is just out and can remove background objects in a few clicks. Its an excellent program for touch-up editing, but isn't an advanced editing program like photoshop. Very easy to use and powerful enough for most users.

The microsoft website isn't yet showing version 9 (a much enhanced version) of the software, but it is available if you do a web search. I've tried both versions and I rather like version 9 as it does everything I need.
