I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Just bought 3 new XPS 15s for quite a sum (2x 9550 and a 9560).  On all 3 machines (i7 16GB) the Touchscreen, USB drives and Bluetooth fail at least once a day.  Using the Troubleshooter it points to the USB 3.0 Extensible Host controller has been disabled.
Re-enabling it allows my machines to work properly again,  until reboot or just randomly stop working throughout the day.  According to SupportAssist my drivers are up to date and I have run Windows updates but it just seems to be getting worse. Very frustrating.
Any suggestions?

A:XPS 15 Touchscreen, USB drives and Bluetooth

Too general, it can be the OS that cause it unless you're able to isolate that. Update BIOS maybe?

I just set up win 8 on my computer and was going thru the process of connecting my bluetooth mouse and my bluetooth keyboard. My mouse connected automatically, no problems. When I went to connect my keyboard I got the usual prompt asking you to enter the code, but the code was not accepted no matter how many times I tried. I know for a fact that this keyboard works, because it works fine on my Win 7 OS on the same computer. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated

I have a Sony STR-DN1030 AV receiver with Bluetooth. I've been working on this issue on and off for 6 months now. The problem was : I would try pairing the computer to the receiver for audio and windows would say paired, but would not connect. I tried un-pairing and pairing , updating drivers, all kinds of forums.  Today I got the computer to connect.. I found a Bluetooth software in the add / remove programs list in the windows control panel. I figured it couldn't get any worse so i went ahead and uninstalled it and tried to connect. It connected right away. I believe that the dell manufactured software for Bluetooth was in conflict with another software ; possibly the windows software that controls Bluetooth devices. I haven't noticed that anything else has bee affected yet.
BTW I am using windows 10 pro
any way It was very frustrating so i wanted to share this information.

I've had my Yoga 900 for just a little while (got it the day that showed up in stores). I love it, save for one thing. One time, it got into this mode where touches would randomly appear on the screen (the little dot you get when you do a touch). At the same time, random keys seemed like they were being pressed. And you'd press the keys on the keyboard but they'd give you a totally different keystroke than they were supposed to. This persisted through two whole reboots. But it wouldn't happen 100% of the time. It'd be fine for a few minutes, then start doing it again. I managed to get a BIOS update in and a reboot, and the problem seemed to go away. But then in the last day or two, it has come back, albeit much much less horrifically. They'll be a stray touch on the screen with my hands nowhere near it (I'm almost always in laptop mode). Or something weird will happen like my browser will open a new tab that there's no good reason for. All of these might be phantom touches, but some could be phantom keys as well. Anyone else run into this? It seems like it's probably the hardware, though I can't rule out software.

Good day and welcome to the community.
Sorry you're having difficulty.
I've not seen this reported previously for the Yoga 900, but a driver update for the Yoga 3 14 (I believe) fixed a similar issue. So, if you would, please confirm which video driver version you have, and compare it to what's listed in the driver listing: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-900-13isk

When attempting to access the touchscreen keyboard, it will flash at the bottom of the screen for a second, then disappears again. Please tell me it is some kind of operator error and not a tech malfunction with my brand new Flex 4. And for the record, attempting to get a Lenovo representative to help out is something of a joke. Yo, Lenovo...might wanna up your game in that area. Now, back to my dysfunctional touchscreen keyboard... HELP!

Main issue im having is the keyboard is acting very bizzare. First keypress does not register when I start typing or after pressing the spacebar. shift keys and backspace are intermittent. for example, on this sentence i had to press the "f" key twice as well as press every letter twice after each press of the spacebar. Reinstalled drivers, system restore, malware scans all to no avail. i'd guess it's a hardware issue.now the touchscreen:does not work 99% of the time but randomly appears to. When it's not working windows tells me no touch is available for this display. Seems like a poor connection to me as well as I can't seem to find touch screen drivers. anyone have experience with this?

Hello, I bought an Edge 2 1580 last month. All of a sudden the items in the subject stopped working and the fan runs full blast.  I think it happened at the same time as a windows 10 update so I tried a roll back but that didn't fix anything. Any chance this is fixable? I see many threads about the keyboard and touchpad going out on other models.

Hi all,
I have a dell XPS2720 and so here is what happened.
I installed PS Now app in my PC and i wanted to get my wireless controller to work so I downloaded and installed SCP driver installer. I ran it but then the computer stopped responding so I decided to do a hard reset.  I held the power button to restart then once the computer and windows started, i am unable to do anything anymore since I am stuck in the home screen.  This is the screen wherein when you press any key or click the mouse, the system prompts you to log in your password to unlock the screen.
My mouse, keyboard and touchscreen are all not responsive.  To isolate the issue, i tried my unifying receiver on another PC and it is working.  I am thinking my drivers perhaps got messed up.
Can you help me?  What can i do given that i can't even log back in to the system.

Yesterday, after restarting my PC to finish updates from Windows, and installations from Autodesk and MATLab, my keyboard, touch pad and wireless mouse stopped working. After checking the drivers, I found that the keyboard and mouse drivers had a code 32. So I did a system restore before all the updates. Did nothing for the drivers.I tried uninstalling, updating the drivers; didn't work. Then I used CCleaner to clean up registry errors. No changes.Next, I went into the registry and deleted the UpperFilter values for the keyboard and mouse drivers. Code 32 was gone for HID keyboard driver and the HID mouse driver. But now the ps/2 keyboard driver and the synaptics smbus driver now had a code 10.After removing and reconnecting my wireless mouse's usb, I noticed that fixed drivers come and go with it, so I tried to find the drivers for the mouse to try a manual reinstall for my mouse. Couldn't find them, (Logitech's website was of no help). So I got Driver Booster to help me. The program said my PC had a lot of outdated drivers, so I decided to let the program update them all in hopes it would fix both the code 10 and let my mouse work again. And that's how the touchscreen stopped responding. Driver Booster had paused while downloading the driver for the Bluetooth as Windows Defenders stopped it. When I tried to allow the download, I notice my only method of interacting with my PC had failed.I force shut down the PC in hopes that the problem would be fixed. Didn't work.So now, I can... After replugging the power and powering up, it went into recovery.Touchscreen and keyboard worked in recovery mode, was too excited to test TouchPad and mice.Anyways, I'm resetting the PC now. Hopefully this fixes it all.I'm somewhat leary of doing updates, however. Reading around online, some had this issue for their keyboards and mice due to Windows 10 hybrid shutdown and fast startup. I'm going to try to turn that off, update everything, and hope that fixes everything. Will update status later.Hope anyone having similar issues find this useful.

I've been using my u920t for almost 10 mont and i really like that i can still use the touchscreen when the keyboard ist out.

But a couple of days ago it stopped working. I don't remeber changing anything.

Windows now tells me the screen is not a touchscreen.
Once i put the screen down and go into tablet mode everything works fine.
Tablet PC setting in the control panel also disappear once the keyboard ist out..

I tried reinstalling the driver.
I also did a windows 8 refresh (no backup unfortunately)

Any ideas?

Thank you for your help.

A:Satellite U920T - when I slide out the keyboard touchscreen no longer works

> Tablet PC setting in the control panel also disappear once the keyboard ist out..
I assume this should be OK since the tablet PC settings should be available only if the notebook is used in ?tablet mode?

The point is that this notebook can be used in three different modes.
1) tablet mode -> the keyboard and touchpad are pulled in and only touchscreen can be used
2) laptop mode -> the keyboard and touchpad are pulled out
3) photography mode -> keyboard is pulled in but touchpad is pulled out and can be used as well as the touchscreen.

I?m not quite sure if the ?orientation lock button? (on the left side) would affect the touchscreen but fact is that using this button the automatic rotation of the screen orientation can be enabled or disabled.
If you are operating the computer in laptop or in photography mode, the screen orientation will always be in Landscape mode.

Please check also if the touch display has been calibrated properly
Go to control panel (win key + x control panel) -> Tablet PC settings

Here you will find the first tab called ?Display?
Click on ?Setup? button to start the setup where you could identify the touchscreen
In bottom area called ?display options? you could calibrate the touch display.

Hello John, Welcome to SevenForums

Unless your system has a built in BlueTooth Radio, (Check the specs on your Motherboard, It may be there but need activating), you will need to purchase a BLueTooth USB adaptor.

One bit of advice I would give is that there are many low quality BT Dongles out there - If you want to avoid problems down the line, go for one of the known makes

I have a Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse and Keyboard which i have been using on my xp system for about 2 years. I really like it, so i have transferred it to my new HP desktop computer which is running vista home premium 64 bit. I downloaded and installed all the correct 64 bit drivers, and got everything up and running no problem. Now, the keyboard seems to "go to sleep" and can take 30 - 60 seconds (which seems like an eternity) to wake up. The mouse is fine, so what happens, is i hit a key on the keyboard or move the mouse which "wakes up" the computer, (so apparently the keyboard is not entirely disconnected) then i click on whatever i need to do, then wait for the keyboard to respond before i can do any typing. Once it finally responds, it is fine. I'm thinking it must be a bluetooth setting, but i can't find anything that might be related to the problem.

Does no one have an answer or a comment on this? Lack of any response is disappointing.

So I've had this happen countless times. The touchscreen stops working. The laptop is in perfect conditions. The screen, not even a scratch. I format the laptop, it still doesn' work. So, I've always fixed it by installing the AUO Touchscreen Firmware/ sp63116.exe from:http://support.hp.com/mx-es/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-14-f000-sleekbook/5375393/model/5403360#... My problem atm is that this time, that process isn't working. The installer opens, installs the thing, then the program opens and immediately closes. This prompts windows to ask me if the driver installed correctly or that if it should attempt to install under a compatibility mode. No matter which I choose, it still does the same thing. It won't stay open for more than 1 second.  I've restored my laptop to factory presets a couple times already and the touchscreen isn't working yet because the driver/program/wizard thingy refuses to stay open after it is done installing. Can anybody help me? Perhaps share a different version of the installer? Thank you.

The installer DOES THE SAME THINGRestored the BIOS. The installer DOES THE SAME THING So please, do not tell me to restore the laptop. I've done it already. Doesn't work. Same thing for the BIOS. can you please let us know which keyboard are you using? Check in the keyboard settings, if it has the option which you can tick, like "make the hardware discoverable".

Click the Start button, click Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound, and then click Bluetooth Devices.
Select the device that's not working, and then click Remove.
Click Add, press the reset button on the device (or make it discoverable following the manufacturer's instructions), select the My device is set up and ready to be found check box, and then click Next.
If the device is not found, repeat the previous step. When the device is found, select it, and then click Next.

This is my first Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, and although it looks as though it was designed by an art student, you are totally fudged if you are left handed because Logitech decided, the entire world are right handed. It is a well designed keyboard and mouse that cups your hand like a well fitted glove, but it has a major flaw... Or it's Windows 7? The problem I have is the keyboard keeps disconnecting all the time which is really annoying when you are typing and half the words are not there. Windows 7 has Bluetooth already set as standard, but I am now wondering if the problems I am getting is Logitech SetPoint clashing with Windows 7 Bluetooth...? Which could be causing the keyboard to disconnect?

I must be honest I love the keyboard and the mouse is just amazing.... But the disconnection of the Bluetooth is so irratating, you just feel like throwing in the towel and returning back to your wireless keyboard which kept a steady connection. It never stopped working, you never had to search for your keyboard via Bluetooth Central. Does anybody have an idea what is causing the dissconnection of the keyboard. The mouse is fine it's just the keyboard which drops the connection and you have to press the red button on the keyboard and reconnect again, it was fine to start off with, then it started disconnecting.

Any ideas folks.

My old wireless setup finally crapped out, so thought I'd try
Bluetooth with the longer range.

One thing I didn't know about Bluetooth, at least with this
particular keyboard, and mouse to a small extent, is that
after a brief period of inactivity it unconnects or deactivates
or whatever, and to reactive it I have to type a key and then
wait for 10 seconds or more for it to come alive.

Very irritating especially like when I'm trying to sign into
something, or am working on something.

I've looked in the app and don't see anything where I can
turn that off. I don't mind replacing the rechargeable batteries
more often if I can avoid that deactivating thing.

Any suggestions, or am I just stuck with that?
Maybe back to "old fashioned" wireless? At least
those were "always on" or whatever you'd call it.

It's a Microsoft mobile keyboard and mouse 5000.
There was a small install CD that came with them.

I don't know if the dongle would make any difference?

A:Bluetooth Keyboard problems

Well, on the hopes there was something in the Bluetooth app that I missed, I went back and took another look.

Not much there, really. But I enabled Bluetooth Network (even tho I only have the BT keyboard and mouse and no other BT devices) and enabled sharing with other BT devices (I guess between the keyboard and mouse and dongle or ?).

None of those seemed particularly applicable when I looked at them before, but
whichever one of those did something, I did a test on the keyboard and at least
yet it hasn't shut off even waiting several minutes.

Actually, would be nice if everything PC / Windows would be that simple!

Iím having problems getting my Microsoft Bluetooth keyboard and mouse working.
Iíve installed Intellitype and IntelliPoing with no errors.
Iíve added the Keyboard to the Bluetooth devices, the passkey worked fine. But the keyboard just doesnít work. i.e. when I hit the keys, nothing happens.
In my keyboard properties, the wireless keyboard battery level is shown as good (theyíre new batteries).
The only thing that looks odd is that in the Hardware tab (in keyboard properties), it only lists my USB keyboard.
Iíve tried unplugging the USB keyboard and rebooting with just the Bluetooth one on, but no joy at all.

Easily the best purchase I made in 14 was a Lenovo tablet for 40 bucks. Love it. But need a real keyboard as I can palm a basketball easily and this touchscreen typing is not meant for hands my size.

Parameters are easy, I got this to lose the laptop as much as possible, so it needs to compact as small as possible. Im a camper and biker, so i needthe space in le backpack.

Price does matter, as I think this can be kept sub 40 USD, maybe 30.

Thats it, other than battery life. Big hands, compact well, price point. And not 2 of 3.

Hi, I've been using a Logitech K830 BT keyboard with a Yoga 920 that had upgrades with Win10 Pro 1803 & Intel 8265 Wireless LAN card. The keyboard has been working fine with the Yoga 920 before and after all the upgrades, with an exception: 'it has to be turned off and turned back on after computer sleep in order to reconnect'.  Therefore, it won't wake up the computer as the BT mouse does.It is not something serious, but I've been looking all over for the answer without any result. The question: is this normal for the BT mouse to wake up computer but not the BT keyboard (in my case, it is a Logitech K830)?Thanks
