I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I just purchased a T520 laptop. It seems pretty great but unfortunately I opted for the 15.6" HD (1366x768) screen.I'd love to upgrade but have no idea of the best way to go about doing this. The best option I've found is to buy the 15.6" FHD (1920x1080) screen on ebay and replace it myself. Is the T520 40 pin? Is this a good approach? Thanks for any advice!

It'd void your warranty... Maybe consider sending it back and reordering it with a FHD panel? It's also pretty hard to source the exact same 95% gamut panel found from the factory, but not impossible:forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=94601

Also would i see much of a difference if I upgrade to dual 512MB vid cards instead of 256MB duals? I plan on playing Dark Age of Camelot, Supreme Commander, and Battlefield 2142. The upgrade is an extra $300, is it worth it for those games? or do I not need to spend that extra?

I am looking for a new 24" lcd monitor. I never watch DVD or Blu Ray on my computer.

Is there any advantages to having the 1920x1080 over the 1900x1200 standard for computing and photography work?

I currently use 1900x1200 and have been very satisfied with it so far.

Many thanks,

A:1920 x 1080 vs 1900 x 1200 lcd

Heh in many cases there is a MAJOR advantage to monitors that do 1920x1200 instead of 1920x1080

The 1080 "monitors" are actually using LCD TV panels . Much lower quality, color acuracy, etc (generally matched by much lower prices).

So I'd stick to a decent 1920x1200 monitor. One that was for sure made to work for computer imaging and has the full color range LCD panels.

I have connected my EliteBook 840 G3 (Skylake CPU) to a HP 24-inch monitor (model L2335) via VGA. Its a direct connection, a VGA cable from the VGA connector on the EliteBook to the VGA connector on the 24-inch monitor. The native resolution of the 24-inch monitor is 1920x1200, but the EliteBook is doing only 1920x1080. I cannot choose a higher resolution via the Intel graphics software utility or the  Windows OS. Note that if I connect my Dell 27-inch monitor to the EliteBook via a Displayport-to-DisplayPort cable, a resolution of 2560x1440 is possible. So the EliteBook, as such,  is certainly capable of higher resolutions than 1920x1080. EliteBook has BIOS 1.04 and Windows 7 64-bit Professional with lastest Intel graphics 520 drivers. Can an EliteBook 840 G3 outpout 1920x1200 via its VGA output connector? Thanks.

A:EliteBook 840 G3 VGA resolution 1920 x 1200

Hi, VGA port on your machine only supports 1920 x 1080 max.  VGA abd DP (Display Port) are two different technologies (VGA is analog and DP is digital) you can't compare apples with oranges. Regards.

Hello, all. I am trying to upgrade my Thinkpad X260 to a 16GB stick of ram. The exact item I bought is called "Crucial 16GB Single DDR4 2133 MT/s (PC4-17000) DR x8 SODIMM 260-Pin Memory - CT16G4SFD8213" on Amazon.com . After installing the memory module (correctly, using the video Lenovo provides on youtube), the laptop won't boot. I can't even get into the bios, although the green bower button lights up. I'm very confused as I did a lot of research to make sure this ram is supported by my thinkpad: The Thinkpad platform specifications list the memory as "2133MHz DDR4" with a 16GB maxThe voltage on my ram is 1.2V, the same voltage that the thinkpad x260 supportsIt's also "260-pin memory", the same as the original ram. What could possibly be going on? Why won't my laptop boot with the RAM upgrade?

When cold booting, I come up in 800 x 600 resolution, although my software is set for 1920 x 1200. On resetting, it produces the full resolution it should have produced the first time. What is the most likely cause? Weak PS?

This is an Asus P5B-E board, E6750 oc to 3.2 gigs, 2 gb Corsair 6400 volted to 2.1 in BIOS, a single 8800 GTX card and an X-Fi Extremegamer sound card. Monitor is a 24" Gateway. The PS is either an Enermax or Antec rated at least at 500 watts. Also, the unit is watercooled, and so also powers an external eHeim 12v pump with 2-120mm fans (these off seven volts). There are also a pair of 120 mm and a single 250 mm case fans. I can run prime95 for several hours on end without error. tia

A:Two boots for proper (1920 x 1200) resolution

It turns out I indeed seem to have had an insufficient power supply. I replaced an Antec 650 Watts Trio with a brand new Corsair TX 750 Watts, single-rail power supply. The final verdict may take weeks, but the first half-dozen boots from cold has seen the computer start up as it should. It goes directly into 1920x1200 resolution.

The Antec was otherwise working, so I can only assume that the extra 100 watts (plus it being over a single, super power, 60 Amp rail) made the diff. I never allowed that the pump and fans required for water cooling require more power than you would think. The upside is that my E6750 overclocked to 3.2 GB still won't go over 46C when exercised with prime95 over several hours.

Hope my experience helps someone else. tj

Just bought a Samsung SyncMaster 245B and am running it through a splitter on two machines: one is Windows 2003 server and one is XP. Both worked fine when I first plugged them into the monitor at 1920 x 1200 resolution (recommended). Then when I rebooted them, they both refuse to present that resolution as an option.

I am stuck with a screen that stretches everything out at 1600 x 1200 so everything looks wide and fat. Useless with PhotoShop.

One system uses RAGE XL ATI display and the other an Intel 82865G Graphics Controller and both say the monitor is "Default Monitor" in the Device manager.

Help please!!!

A:24" Samsung 1920 x 1200 resolution not available

You will need to upgrade to a compatible video card that supports the 22" monitor's resolution. Also, the monitor should have a CD that you can load to tell the computer what monitor is connected so you don't have to use the "default monitor" setting. Video cards can be had for $75-350. Unless you are a hard core gamer, get the cheapest, compatible card that supports the resolution you need.

Good luck.

Hey Guys (& Gals),

I have three monitors connected to a Sapphire HD 7790. 1) Dell 3007WFP-HC, 2) Nixeus 30" VUE & 3) Dell U2412M.
The U2412M is connected via Display Port, the 3007WFP & VUE 30" DVI.
Would like the resolution on all three to be 1920 x 1200 but when I set that on the Nixeus all I get is a blank screen. Right now the Nixeus is 1920 x 1080 & the other two are 1920 x 1200. I find the Nixeus doesn't like other settings as well e.g. 2560x1600 & 1600x1200. It will appear blank on both of those as well. Am I missing something?

I used the AMD Catalyst Un-install Utility & then Driver Sweeper to clean out old driver files. Used the AMD Driver Autodetect & updated to the most current.
If I connect the Nixeus via Display Port (1.2) I can get it to run 1920 x 1200 simultaneously with the two Dell monitors but would rather have it on DVI, should I want to set the resolution at 2560 x 1600.

thanks

A:Nixeus Vue 30 blank with resolution 2560 x 1600, 1920 x 1200, etc.

Start with double checking that you have the Nixeus connected to the one dual link DVI port on the card (the black one), and that you are using a dual link DVI cable.

Yes it is possible according to Lenovo parts list. And here is one thread which suggests IPS panel upgrade
And here's the part number for IPS panel 04X5916, also you can order the parts on this website.
It will be better to contact Lenovo Support once for LCD panel replacement as system is under warranty.

A:System Upgrade from 775 to 1366

Well first let me ask you this, Are you going to replace the motherboard too along with the CPU?
If you are then do a clean install the old mobo will have different drivers and stuff do to whats on the board. This may cause problems with a new one.
If its just a CPU then pop it in and run no extra setup needed beside BIOS stuff.
I myself always do a clean install of my OS when upgrading to a new setup.

The problem is that I now need to beable to use 2 ports at the same time, and preferably usb 2.0 as 1.0 is so very slow! I have spoken with Freecom and they tell me that the likelihood of finding a usb 2.0 cardbus that will work for me is very slim, however the one I have has no power supply so perhaps this could be the cause of the problem?  Can anyone please tell me if they recognise this problem or could suggest a cardbus that may be compatible with my very old ThinkPad? Any solutions or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi custormer support, I'm using Thinkpad X260, my laptop will discharge the external battery first then it discharges the internal one. Today I learnt that for T470 laptops and later models, the discharge algorithm becomes smarter, the least worn battery will discharge first to ensure the wear levels are more even. My X260 still discharges the external battery first despite the wear level of external battery is higher than the internal battery's. I'd like to know if the X260 can do the same thing and how to do this? Thanks and regards,afriendP.S.: my bios version is 1.36

Hi! I have a worklaptop (x260) and am trying to connect it with a LG Ultrafine 5k Display. The display only has USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 out and when I'm connecting the laptop (using a USB-C to Mini Displayport/Thunderbolt 2 cord) it does nothing and won't detect it. The setup works for another laptop so I know the cord is fine...  Does anyone know if I can just download some drivers for Thunderbolt 3 (Found these: LINK) or do I need a dock? Reason I'm not trying is that I need my corporate IT to download and install so wanted to make sure it's the right solution.  Thank you for any replies! And apologies if this topic has already been delt with -- I searched but without any luck.

I am facing a problem in my laptop. whenever i play vedio from youtube or other websites the audio gradually advances as compared to vedio. This is more noticable in movies where audio is way ahead of vedio. I have all the latest drivers and updates installed but this problem still exists.

Problem is that my touchpad freezes every few minutes, I cannot move cursor unless I release my finger. What I've done so far:- I wipe the system partition and reinstaled system (Win10 Pro)- I've updated all drivers- I've rollback Synaptics driver to one which comes with Windows instalationNo success so far, any sugestions?
