Kaspersky Password Manager Chrome Extension

Q: Kaspersky Password Manager Chrome Extension

Problem: When installing KTS and KPM, KPM doesn't install chrome extension...so I have to manually find it...which is brutal.

I contacted Kaspersky support, they sent me to this link:

How to add the Kaspersky Password Manager 8.0 (Windows) extension to Google Chrome

Unfortunately, the extension on that list is different than the one I had 10 days ago (had to re-install). Does anyone know where I can get the updated (if there is one) extension? The one I had before was more polished looking than this one (chrome icon matched the look of the KPM tray icon).

Preferred Solution: Kaspersky Password Manager Chrome Extension

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi PC guru's,
Kaspersky Tech Support has failed me and Fire Fox isn't much help either.
Is any one up to the challenge of helping me out?
I upgraded to FireFox 16.0.1 and my KPM: 5.0.0.169 has ceased to be available in the top tray as a caption button.
My operating system is Win XP
I uninstalled and reinstalled KPM 5.0.0.169 and uninstalled /reinstalled FireFox 16.0.1.
I also used Kaspersky Kavremover to clean all of the old KPM out before reinstalling.
As I said there is no caption button in the upper right and no auto fill, in other words I cannot use KPM as it is designed to work, I can only copy and paste from Password Manager at the bottom right of the page.
This upgrade worked ok with my laptop running Vista.
I have been using KPM for ever and it has been good to me,
Thanks

Hi i see that pasword manager are very cheap and think it haves "safepayment or virtual browser from kaspersky" did it really worth to use. Now i am ussing last pass

A:Kaspersky password manager is worth?

Sincerely and probably LastPass is a better choice now than KPM, which in the past (until KPM5 I think) was a partner of StickyPassWord, but then KL bumped it and created from scratch a new version but simpler, and although They are adding new features (most of them lost in the past), Lastpass is a better bet...

SafeMoney (sandboxed browser), Secure Data Input and virtual keyboard are technologies integrated in Kaspersky home products (KIS/KAV/KTS) but not in KPM, what is clear: but if You already have Kaspersky product installed in Your system, KPM will have a great integration with it for sure...

Does anyone have any views or opinions about Kaspersky Password Manager. I am considering using this but I have found very few reviews (and those do exist are now dated). It seems to me that it might be good to go with a well established security company for password management rather than a smaller operator like Last pass or 1Password which everyone seems to recommended.

Is Kaspersky Password Manager any good ? The pricing seems quite reasonable.

Hi guys,

I'm just curious what is in your mind the best secured or the lesser evil password manager that can be used with chrome.

As I'm using mostly Chrome OS, I'm looking for a password manager that does not need to install anything on the target PC.

I'm using Sticky Password Manager now and while it's good, it requires me to install it's based software on a targeted PC in order for it to be used. That cannot work on a Chromebook which I used often.

And given that Lastpass had been compromised multiple times, could I still trust them with my data as they're still being rated as the top choice as a recommended password manager?

Many thanks.

P.S. Apologized if it's not in a correct forum.

I was looking at using the LastPass password manager to keep track of all my passwords, but they seem to have gotten hacked awhile back

I use Google products all the time (just about everything but Chrome) and was wondering if someone could tell me what their built-in password manager is like? Are your passwords encrypted and do your passwords auto-fill on webpages?

A:Chrome built-in password manager

Rule of the thumb for better security is "do not save passwords".

Yes Chrome encrypts the passwords. But not the usernames. The encryption is done using Windows API. It makes sure that only Windows user who saved the password can view them. A hacker who steals your password database cannot decrypt them. On Linux machines, encryption is done using Gnome keyring.

Yes Chrome also has auto-fill feature.

I got a idea for a Chrome extension, but no where to request it. When you install extensions in Chrome it places all the extensions to the right side of the address bar. My idea is to have a extension bar below the bookmark bar that automatically hides it's self when the mouse isn't hovering over. You can keep the chrome browser screen estate but not have your extensions obstruct room, making things look cleaner.

A:How to re-enable Kaspersky extension

My honest opinion is that you do not need Kaspersky browser extension. Other extensions like Adguard do the job better (block tracking and ads) and you have Kaspersky web detection still running in the background. Anyway I'm not the right person to help you if you really want to get back the extension in that situation.

First off, I have had great success in the past with removal of junk from my computer, and I wanted to say thanks for that and any future assistance I may receive.

Now, this is my main computer. I travel with it, it has all my important documents and whatnot. So I'm sure you understand how much this annoys me. This first came up a few weeks ago and I had multiple programs and extensions I didn't want. I have manually uninstalled all suspicious programs through the Control Panel and deleted the folders from the Program Files and (x86) folders. I also ran full scans with my anti-virus. The only piece remaining is the UNIDeaLse extension. The only way I can make it go away is to disable the Chrome extension, but obviously it's still there. Looking for some info for removing this.

About a month ago I noticed ads on my web browser where they shouldn't be, like Wikipedia and my school's online class client. All the ads said they were powered by something with the word coupons in it. After removing a suspicious extension on my chrome, things went back to normal. After a couple of days a new series of ads by something with "freecoupons" in it was popping up. I repeated my steps from before. This happened a few times, each with a new name, until it got to Unicoupons. After deleting the Unicoupons extension and reopening my browser, the extension returns. Now I neglected to mention this, but just once one of the ad extensions changed my home page to some redirect search engine thing. My process up until now to remove Unicoupons has been as follows:

1. Went into programs folders and such deleting folders called "Unicoupons" and "FreeCoupons". There were about 5 of these.
2. Following a guide found here: http://blog.mitechmate.com/remove-ads-powered-unicoupons-unicoupons-ads-removal/

5. Running a FULL Malwarebytes (Yes, fully updated) scan. This resolved several issues, but found no Unicoupons.

Hi,
I just uninstalled and re-installed Google Chrome (on Windows 7)and found that the rpidity extension was immediately added to Chrome.

I checked my other two computers and found that rpidity extension is NOT installed on them.
I have Norton Internet Security 2011 installed and Secunia reports that the system score is 100%

I was able to disable and remove the suspicious extension using Chrome tools but I'm concerned that some malware is still on the system.
I searched for removal instruction on this site but found none.

Anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks,

I have an administrator and standard account on this pc. Windows 8.1. On the standard account when using Chrome the extensions such as disconnect, ublock orign, and https everywhere do not show each time chrome is opened and the bookmarks bar also does not show each time chrome is opened. Why did this happen? I don't have this issue on the administrator account.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling chrome but that did not fix the issue. Would you suggest deleting the account and make a new account? Or is there a setting in chrome that I need to check? The always show bookmarks bar box is checked.
Anything else I could try instead of deleting and making a new account?
When trying to make a new windows user account by clicking settings then change pc settings I got an error box. The error box I mean is the one on the bottom of the screen shot with the black arrow in it. I do not know how else to make a new user account or why I got the error box. Please tell me what I need to do to fix this.
I found this. When I tried to open PC settings in safe mode I was unable to do so. I got the same error box. I did a sfc/scannow. I don't know what any of that means or if it will help solve this issue. Would you suggest doing a refresh/restart?
Another thing that I don't know if it is helpful is that a lot of the titles on the apps screen such as Microsoft store, games, finance all have error by them.

I'm looking for a scrollable top links for Chrome. In other words the links just below the address bar so I can place more links and scroll to view them all. I feel like Browsers are going to be a window with tabs and all of us saying "where are our bookmarks?" "Where are our extensions?", "Where is the address bar?" followed by everyone installing older browsers and telling Chrome and FireFox to rethink the browser again because you gone over the deep end.

A:Chrome Extension | And a little Rant.

Do you usually have the Bookmarks Bar showing in Chrome? I normally do and place a row of the more well-used bookmarks there. I also have made a folder there for slightly less well-used bookmarks. Chrome's 'Other bookmarks' folder also appears on the Bookmarks Bar (providing there are some other bookmarks in folders under the 'Bookmarks Manager'). All other bookmarks are in these folders. This doesn't seem a bad sort of set-up to use.

Evereytime I open Chrome the extension uniidealse gets added to my list of extensions and it stops other extensions from working properly. It is very similar to another problem I found on this forum:

http://www.techspot.com/community/topics/malware-fake-websites-for-google-searches-etc.208915/

so I followed the trouble shooting options until the point of running combofix where I got stuck because I can't stop symantec endpoint cloud from running its antispyware so combofix says I will have to continue at my own risk. I tried to turn off symantec before I started combofix but the only option available is to disable to antivirus or the firewall but some features remain turned on no matter what you do. I followed the link about conflicting programs:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/for...nti-virus-firewall-and-anti-malware-programs/

the part it lists about symantec is outdated and when I googled how to turn it off all that comes up is more outdated information about other people who can't turn their antispyware on.

I've looked through all the options on the window that comes up and I can't end the task in taskmanager because its denied.

Do you know what I should try next? or if it is possible to continue with conbofix even though the antispyware is still running?

thanks.

I found an extension in the Chrome extension store that may be malicious. I don't know what it does, and I did not install. In permissions, it wants to change the search page in addition to read and modify web pages. I'm not asking for help, but I know some of you are interested in taking apart code. This one has 18 users and was updated Nov 4.It's a copy of the ebates extension, including logo and description.  The link is

Hello i return once again to the masterminds of the TechSupportForum!

I've gotten into creating Chrome Extensions, using a software called (Extension Maker) from Extension Maker (Link probably safe, nothing on there though i have adblock on so i wouldn't notice)

Anyways when i upload my extension it says it requires (Your data on all websites) this makes me worried, i don't want people to get spied on etc. So i though i could give you guys the ZIP file containing the manifest, image and everything that makes the extension work, and see if you can help me figure out if it actually does anything bad?

The extension is a simple RSS feed from my Blogspot that updates the user when i post a new chrome theme.

Feel free to scan the fuu out of it before extracting it, though i scanned it with Malwarebytes and it didn't find anything :)

A:My Chrome Extension, is it dangerous?

Hello. This is a malware removal help forum, not a "test my extension" forum.

I've removed the link to your dropbox and edited the link to Extension Maker so that it's not hot. If you say "probably safe", I'm sorry but that's not good enough.

This browser extension stopped working on Windows 8/8.1, sort of...

I've searched and found that it may have something to do with NPAPI compatibility.

I said "sort of" because it stopped working only on my desktop PC, but works normally on my laptop.

Some guys suggested to set Chrome in compatibility mode with Windows 7, but it didn't do.

Any ideas why it works on one PC and not on the other? Both have the same version of Windows 8.1 Pro.

Maybe if I find why and how it is allowed to work on my laptop I can make it work on the desktop.

Here is the extension link (which I can't access using the desktop PC):

Hey guys,

So I'm suspecting either Magic Mouse Utilities or my Watch Dogs installation (I got this from a friend) carried along a virus to my computer.

Chrome shows something like this in a block of text (this is my website, and this is not normal behavior, I've already checked in other devices so don't ask me.):

I've already checked Chrome Extensions, and it's not there.

I've ran RKill, ran JRT, ran Malwarebytes. Malwarebytes is still running, but I think JRT deleted mntemp and some shady Chrome autorun from the registry. Adwcleaner reports my PC is clean.

I've attached Magic Mouse Utilities, hopefully someone can check if it contains malware by running it in a sandbox. (I should've done this) THE ZIP MAY BE A VIRUS! IF YOU ARE TESTING IT PLEASE BE AWARE IT MAY BE A VIRUS!!!

Chrome still shows these after the scans. Malwarebytes is still scanning, so I will edit to show the results when it is complete.

Anybody know what this is?

EDIT: I know a FRST scan would help you experts immensely, but as I've said Malwarebytes is still running and I'd rather wait until that finishes so it doesn't clash.

This behavior only happens in Chrome, and not in Edge. Weird.

EDIT2: This is the JRT scan log: http://pastebin.com/ZL3fxmRN

This is the RKill log: http://pastebin.com/xBrzfwGG

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit.
When using Chrome, I keep getting redirects and popups telling me there's an update available.  I'm using version 29.0.1547.76 m which seems to be the latest version.

In settings> extensions, there's an extension showing for Live Player 3.2, but I can't remove it.  There is no trash can, and "enable" is checked AND grayed out.

I'm sure there's some spyware/malware in there, but I can't find it with Malwarebytes or SuperAntiSpyware.  AVG finds nothing.

I have downloaded ComboFix, but haven't run it.  (Had to download it using IE, because the computer said I couldn't use Chrome - no surprise, since I'm trying to use it to clean Chrome - well, not Chrome, but the problem that exists in Chrome.

Hi all, I recently bought a new HP Envy notebook about a month ago, and it came installed with Windows 8 and the newest HP SimplePass software. Not being a huge fan of Internet Explorer, I downloaded Google Chrome, and--to my dismay--the SimplePass extension did not download with it. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling SimplePass, but that didn't work. I read some other forum posts on this topic and ended up downloading the Authentec SimplePass port for Google Chrome. This caused the entire fingerprint scanner to stop working, so I uninstalled everything and started fresh. Can anybody help me get SimplePass working with the newest Chrome and Windows 8? I appreciate all of your help!
