I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

Hi everyone, Almost a year ago I bought a HP Spectre 360 in the US. Up till now I have been very happy with it, but for pure peace of mind I am trying to extend the warranty in the UK (as I am living here now). HP is telling me that it is not possible. Has someone been in the same situation (i.e. buying in X country and extending warranty in Y country?). Is it possible, if so how did you manage to do it? As a side note, their Support Service Agreement does not state that the computer must have been bought in the country of the warranty extension. Many thanks!

Hi, Thats a difficult situation to begin with. First of. If you are going to call HP Support 1800-474-6836 and you are going to extend your computer's warranty. They will definitely ask you for a credit card number and billing address. Ofcourse if your not within US thats gotta be a problem because they use a tool to process payment which accepts US addresses only. The best thing that you could do if you really insist of getting a warranty is talk to your friends that lives within US and ask them if thy could process the warranty for you and pay them afterwards. Regards.

Hi, I have a Dell Dimension 4700, built one year ago. Today is the day the warranty will expire, and if I renew later rather than now, it will cost more. I have had no problems with the PC as of yet, and my one support call went well. It used to be my understanding that it's not a good idea to buy the extended warranty on... most any product really. But from some threads I've been reading in various places, I'm thinking maybe with Dell I really ought to. I don't know if what I've read has been skewed by the fact that often it's the unsatisfied that take the time to proclaim that, but what I've read of others' experiences has been scary, and sounds like often one is lucky if they even get appropriate help *with* a warranty still in place.

Strangely (I think), with this model the only type of warranty available, original or extended, is next business day at-home service (with phone support too of course). I don't need that much convenience but I have no choice. So, a one-year extension would be $109, two-year $179. (Don't think I'd be interested in the three-year for $239 at this time, even though I do intend to still have this PC then and beyond.)

Ok so of course I'd rather not pay this but it won't take food off my table or anything. So should I go for it? Thanks so much if I can get some opinions before the end of the biz day (It's about 7 AM CST here now.)

I bought a Lenov Ideapad 510 15IKB on 14th April 2017. Now I'm facing 2 issues with the warranty registration and warranty upgrade: Issue#1On April 16th I registered the base warranty of my product as it should start from the purchase date of my product. After few email conversations for purchase proof, finally on 3rd May, I received email confirming the base warranty registration of my product. It was starting from 14th April 2017 and ending on 13th April 2018. I checked the same on lenovo website. But few days back when I again checked the warranty status, it was restored to factory warranty (15 Oct 2016 - 13 nov 2017). I don't know why this happened and how this happened. When I contacted lenovo, they said that warranty is updated in their database but how can I beleive when I can't see this on warranty lookup section of the Lenovo official website. I have also attached the screen shot of warranty lookup page as of today (22 June 2017). Issue#2I registered for 2 year warranty extension under Back To School offer (Ticket Number - ADP-BTS-025399) on www.buyalenovo.com and made a payment of INR 999/- on 6th May 2017. On 10th May, i received an email confirming the receipt of payment and in the same email, it was mentioned that warranty certificate will be mailed to me within 7 bussiness day, but till the date I've not received any warranty certificate, I've sent so many emails in last one week, but I didn't receive any reply to any email. I have two questions: 1. If i buy a HP laptop from US and then go back home (Europe/Romania) with it,  do i still have the same warranty for the laptop and in case anything happens can I send it directly to HP to sort out the problem? I want to avoid sending it back to the US as this will be costly in terms of time and money. What are my posibilities to resolve this locally? 2. If i want to upgrade the HDD of the laptop i need to open it up. Will this void my warranty?

Hi: While none of us on this forum can give you precise anwers to the warranty questions you have asked (because we are not authorized to discuss warranty items on this forum on behalf of HP), I can share with you what I have observed in over 6 years as a member on this forum. 1.  Unless the exact same model notebook is sold in Romania, HP will not cover it under the warranty.  Most likely the exact same model notebook is not sold in Romania. 2. Check the service manual for the specific model notebook you want to buy to see how difficult it is to replace the hard drive.  On many of these new notebooks, it is very difficult to replace the hard drive, and if it is, the procedure will be listed under work to be done by an authorized service center. That does not necessarily mean you will void the warranty by replacing the hard drive yourself but if you break anything along the way, you are out of luck. However, since the notebook will probably not be covered under the warranty if you buy it in the USA and use it in Romania, your second question really doesn't matter.

Welcome to the Community Forums. 
 
Removing the harddrive will not void the warranty , for as long as none is broken accidentally. 
Parts declared as CRU or Customer Replaceable Parts like harddrive and RAM , are parts that do not require advance expertise. 
I have here the CRU list and guideline steps (appendix A page 33)
 
However FRU or Field Replaceable Units are  those that needs a certified tech to disassemble against warranty. 
 
To check the warranty type you have a a specific machine click here. 
For repair needs you may call in tech support.

I posted a msg regarding a possible IRQ problem and missing internet connection.  Received a PM to call a number, did so and worked with a person from Skyfill who told me my warranty was expired.  My computer shows that I have 6 months left but the help person disputed that; so I paid for assistance to get computer internet connection fixed.   How do I dispute the warranty coverage?
