Lenovo T400 9 cell Battery Pricing

Q: Lenovo T400 9 cell Battery Pricing

Lenovo Community I'm in need of a new 9 cell battery for an older Lenovo model (T400) the Lenovo price is $179.00 (which is fine) but a see many other advertised prices as low as $33.00. Anyone know why such a discrepancy. I would expect Lenovo?s prices to be "slightly? high but not as much as $146.00. $33.00 is too good there is something I'm not aware of when it come to new batteries. Comments

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello,  I'm having an issue on my T400 (Windows 7, 32 bit) where the laptop shows that it is plugged in but not charging.  I've tried the usual steps with removing the battery from device manager and rebooting, but it doesn't seem to work.  I've also tried using a different power supply and I still get the same result.  I also get the beep when I plug/unplug the power.    The computer will run with just AC power connected to it and it does seem to run on the battery.  I didn't run it too much because the battery is at about 12%.  Will a new battery fix the issue?  I got the laptop as they were getting rid of it at work, the battery has been working fine for almost a year and I just noticed the issue the other day.

Hi, all!

I wish to purchase an HP dv5000t series laptop with a 12 Cell Li-Ion battery, but I saw a diagram on the HP site which showed a bulky mass at the back of the laptop, compared to a 6 cell which did not have this. It seems that such a laptop will not be able to sit flat on a desk.

Does anybody know from experience if this will be the case? If so, how bad of an angle is it? Will it interfere with normal use, etc?

Thanks! Your help is appreciated.

If HP sells the battery with the laptop then it'll work. While it may not sit flat that isn't a problem.

Hi Lenovo experts - I am having a strange issue with my new X270 laptop. I have been using it for over 3 weeks now. The X270 came with an integrated Li-Ion 3-cell battery (23 Wh) and also an external Li-Ion 3-cell battery  (23 Wh). With very light usage (just outlook and office apps) and brightness set to 25%, I can barely get 2h-2.5h of battery life. Is this normal? Per the PSREF, 3+3 cell should give me ~13h of battery life.  Anything else I can check? I did a 'battery report' and I see on average 45 Wh of charging capacity when active. However 'Battery life estimates' show between 2h-3h at full charge. 'Current estimate of battery life based on all observed drains since OS install' is showing 3:50.  Do I have a defective battery? Any advice appreciated!

I left my T400 on overnight running on battery (clearly not the brightest idea), and now it won't start up.  The plug and battery lights do illuminate when I plug it into an outlet; when I turn it on, the num lock and caps lock lights illuminate briefly, and the power status indicator light illuminates.  It makes a few whirring noises, and then just sits there.  Does anyone have any suggestions for troubleshooting this?  Thank you!

I am purchasing a new Lenovo T400 laptop. Lenovo offers the Home Premium Windows 7 OS in both 32 and 64-bit versions, at the same price, with the 32 bit version being the "standard" choice. What are the tradeoffs of having the 32 v. 64-bit version installed? I understand that 32-versions may eventually become obsolete, but I am more interested in immediate performance and utility. I also have a lot of memory on the comptuer.

Well John, It all depends on how much memory/RAM you have installed and the GHz of your CPU.
Looking at this: Lenovo - Laptop computers - ThinkPad T400 even the ultimate version only has 2GB, so 64-Bit Windows 7 will just about be able to run on it.You won't experience any better performance than if you were running 32-bit. A good minimum for any performance increases is 3GB of RAM.

That's my 2 cents

Hello! I've googled my question first but tbh I didn't really get what to look for for a fitting RAM for the Lenovo T400, I only saw that some of the RAM was not accepted by the Laptop and the Laptop didn't boot then, so I don't want to risk too much, because I don't feel like I will be able to solve the problem with the RAM afterwards.  Can anyone tell me if this RAM is compatible with my Lenovo T400 and explain me what to look at for compatibility with the RAM Module: https://www.willhaben.at/iad/kaufen-und-verkaufen/d/ram-module-2x-4gb-1600mhz-pc3-12800s-183801765/If it is compatible then how much should I pay for it at most?

I recently bought for my old t400 a   a AUO screen ,model B141EW05 V3 (FRU 42T0699) with 30 pin connector from ebay. s-l1600.jpg ?184 KB

A:lenovo t400 led board help for my led screen

T400 was a transitional model.  The previous model, t61, had CCFL backlights.  The next model, t410, was all LED backlights and the video cable also had the power for the backlight.  The LED board just had the status LEDs.  T400 had some CCFL backlight screens with a normal inverter.  As inverter converts the DC on the motherboard to the AC used by a CCFL bulb.  Some T400 machines had screens like your picture which has an LED backlight, no inverter and an LED control board that split off the DC to the LED backlight into the little ribbon cable in your picture.  The LED backlight models use an entirely different video cable.
It sounds like your machine originally had a CCFL backlight.  The net result is that the panel you bought won't work for you.  Return it if you can.

I have just received a Lenovo T400, with XP installed, and it wont shut down. When shut down is attempted it reboots. The only way to shut it down is to hold down the power button during reboot for 5 seconds. The reason for the XP is that I am a helicopter engineer and all the helicopter maintenance manual and part catalogues are only ported to XP and wont run on Vista. The T400 is designed for Vista and I feel this may have something to do with the issue.

Someone needs to get a new battery for a very old laptop they have. The battery doesn't work so they have to have it plugged all the time otherwise it wouldn't work. Laptop is 15.6 and sort of heavy but the thing is they never take the laptop outside the house. It will mainly be used on one floor in the house.

100% of the time the laptop is used in the kitchen area where there is a table where its connected using a charger to the wall. Thus if the person had a working battery, they could carry it around the house even though the laptop will stay in one place usually. However because right now the battery doesn't work, it does but it goes out very fast less than 1 minute, they need a new battery.

Is it better to get a 6 cell or 9 cell battery? The laptop will be used at home 100 percent. The thing is this person said if 9 cell last longer, get it. However, im sure 9 cell batteries make the laptop much heavier and has that back part sticking out right? I know this isn't a big deal if you going to stay inside but wouldn't it be a problem/annoyance if you have the laptop on yourself when on the sofa? Does the 9 cell would be really heavy on an already heavy 15.6' laptop?

Also 6 cell batteries last for around 2 hours i believe. How many hours does a 9 cell last for usually?

The thing is majority of the time the laptop will be plugged in but its very annoying at the moment as the laptop has to be connected 100 percent of the time since the battery is no good at... Read more

A:6 Cell Vs 9 Cell Battery for Laptop?

It's a piece of hardware so you're in the right area.

I have a Dell Inspiron N5010 that has a 48WattHour battery. A 9-cell battery would give longer working time when on battery-only so if it is offered and the price is affordable I'd get it.

As for physically working, it may lift the back edge of the Notebook higher but that's not a problem, usually have rubber feet on them. I find that type of rise is actually easier for typing as most Desktop keyboards have feet to raise the back edge, fingers seem to 'flow' better.

I recently changed my BIOS password (aka supervisor password) on my ThinkPad T400 and I did not write it down. I do remember that the character limit for this password was short (maybe 6,7,or 8 characters long). If I knew the (default?) character limit or length I could rule out dozens of other passwords in my memory and gain access to my computer that much sooner. Ive read every manual and users guide for my laptop and there is no other method readily available, no bypass solution so it is imperative that I remember what I set.. Thanks for your time.

Hi everyone, I hope you guys can help me with this. I was using my T400 and when the battery got low, I had to charge it, obviously. The T400 has these little LCD displays at the bottom of the screen, one of them is the battery (it was orange since the battery was low) and right next to it there is the display that lets you know the power cord is plugged in. When I plugged the power cord in, I noticed the display did not work. So I was left with a non-charging power cord and a fast lowering battery power. What was to happen happened, so now my battery is completely depleted. When I unplug the battery and try to power the laptop, there is no power at all, nothing. When I put the battery in and try to power the laptop, I get the message 0190: Critical low-battery error. Thanks guys !

A few things I can rule out here..

It's not the firewall: I've disabled the firewall through firewall.cpl
It's not the internet connection: I use the same cable as my other PC which works fine
It's not the antivirus software: I've done an uninstall of that.

A few things that could be useful
The servers I'm trying to connect to will connect with my second PC with the same internet connection

First, my t400 would only boot with power cord unplugged. Then it stopped booting altogether. I read to press the power button 10 times and hold it on the tenth time and to unscrew the palm rest to unplug the little battery for 30 seconds. That is the only way I can get it to boot now. I picked up a new regular battery today thinking it might be related but that hasn't solved it. Any ideas?

A:thinkpad t400 wont boot w/o reseting little battery behind palm rest

I looked at it closer and to get it to start i don't press the power button at all. I unplug the power cord and after unplugging the CMOS battery for awhile i just plug the power cord back in and it starts up. The first thing i see as it starts up is an error message about a bad CMOS checksum and then i have to change the date/time in the BIOS or it yells at me to do it. After all that it boots into windows 7. Once it is in windows no matter what i do to change the settings of what the power button does it still doesn't do anything. I can restart it fine but once i shut it down it the CMOS battery needs to be reset to get it going again.

I bought lenovo y500 two days ago in INDIA.  In the lenovo energy management system 8.0, I found a battery calibration option and decided to do it.  The steps mentioned there were as follows. 1. Full charge2. Full discharge  The process performed full charging followed by complete discharge of the battery which caused the laptop to shut down.   When I tried turning on my laptop, it could not start.  The battery charging indicator LED wasnt switched on even though the power cord was inserted into the laptop.  I could start the laptop only after removing the battery.   Once the laptop was on, I inserted the battery back in and it began to charge.  After about 50% of charging, I removed the power cord and inserted it again.  Now the battery couldnt resume charging.  I again had to shut down the laptop and repeat the above steps of inserting battery after switching on the laptop without battery.  Only then the battery would resume charging. After this, I decided to allow the battery to charge to 100%. But, the charging remained stuck at 99% and could not fully charge the battery.  When I removed and reinserted the power cord, the same problem persisted of battery not resuming charging. Please help me with this problem.  I read on few forums about uninstalling microsoft ACPI which supposedly solves this issue.  However, ACPI returns back after I restart my laptop.I also tried switch... ADMIN Edit - While the original post below is marked as the solution, because service will be required if the battery will no longer charge after performing a battery reset, I am adding a Lenovo update here to confirm.   Normal operation will allow the battery to relearn its capacity characteristics when using the battery reset function.  Typically this is not needed in normal use..   Batteries are equipped with a safety feature that will permanently disconnect them (like a fuse) if cell imbalance or an internal short is detected.   This tends to be statistically infrequent, but also normal, and would require a battery replacement.  (Batteries have a 1 year warranty).   This battery feature can also  produce similar results to what is being discussed in the thread, so it should first be considered by service.   This particular  forum discussion also involves a situation that could affect a limited number of systems, and could lead service to replace the system board during warranty.
If your system experiences these symptoms, please contact service during the warranty period.

I finally got that dreaded "Fan Error" at boot time on my T500.  After some research on this board, this is what I have concluded: 1-  hit Escape, and the machine will boot.  It can do a lot of stuff without a fan turning.  Gaming caused it to overheat.  Either the processor would slow down (by being intermittant) or you get the black screen of death. 2-  It is relatively easy to follow the Hardware Maintenence Manual and remove the fan and heatsink assembly.  Once the assembly is removed, pry open the fan, and remove the blades and clean and lubricate the shaft.  My fan restarted, and the Fan Error went away.  No need to replace the fan. 3-  Unfortunately the machine overheats now (black screen of death), even though the fan does operate.  I traced this to a too liberal application of the thermal joint compound.  Made the compound a very thin film, and that seems to have helped.  Also when replacing heat sink assembly and before bolting it, wiggle it while pressing on it so the thermal joint compound spreads itself at the surfaces of contact.  This seems to have helped. Anything else that you may want to add to this thread?

A:6-cell battery and the ext 9-call battery

A 6 cell battery for a laptop is pretty standard and is usually self contained right within the laptop. You can replace that 6 cell battery, with a 9 cell battery. Since the 9 cell battery has more cells and lasts longer, the battery itself is natually larger. So, they often either stick out of the back or out of the bottom of the laptop. Oh yeah, they also weigh more because of the extra cells.

Hi, can anyone who has a 12 cell battery for their laptop please tell me how long the battery lasts, and what laptop you use. I just want to compare different 12 cell batteries and how long they last according to the laptops they use. Thanks

A:How long does your 12 cell battery last?

I don't have a 12-cell laptop battery, but I just wanted to point out that there's cells and there's cells. The energy storage capacity of different "cells" used by different manufacturers varies widely, as does the current draw by different laptops. A 17-inch "aircraft carrier" laptop is going to consume a lot more juice than an Atom-based 9" unit with an SSD. Hence, their runtimes on a "12-cell battery" will be hugely different.

For what it's worth, I used to have an Asus 1000HE which ran for almost 10 hours on a 9-cell battery (win7), before it was snatched away from me by a family member who was quite happy to resort to underhanded hardware acquisition tactics.

easiest way to see if its the battery is to use a volt meter, if the battery shows a greater voltage than that stated on the battery its self (e.g 18v will be about 21v when charged) then its not likely damaged

I believe that some desktop PC's have a rechargeable button cell battery on board? I've just had to dismantle an old machine and I found this particular battery on the circuit board. amazon.com/Newsun-CR2025-Coin-?irect/184-1019633-5016856

The text says "These button cells are not technically rechargeable" so are they saying that it is or isn't? If it really were, would it not be stamped onto the battery??
Just got me thinking about these types of batteries in general, anyone got more knowledge on the subject?

Hello, I'm needing to buy an internal battery for my T470 but seeing different suppliers for the cells- LGC, SMP, and PAN which I'm guessing is LG, Samsung, and Panasonic (although the sticker on the Panasonic battery says "Panasonic manufactured by SANYO").  If I have a choice of cell supplier/mfr which should I select for a battery built in 2017? I've read that in the past Panasonic is one of the best and Sanyo one of the worst (which leads to question of how are their new ones?). Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks

In cell j, I have formula =IF(SUMPRODUCT(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("VLXP",K2:AB2))+0)>=1,"Yes","No") that returns yes or no if VLXP is contained in any cell K2 through AB2 and it works correctly. What I would really like to do is then put into cell j the entire matching cell content or if not found return n/a. Is there a way to accomplish this maybe with VBA?

A:Solved: Excel if cell contains vlxp then put matching cell data in current cell

Do you know Toshiba Options & Accessories website?

Check this page:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com -> Peripherals & Services -> PS Options & Accessories

There you would find all compatible options.

As far as I know this battery could be compatible with the Sat Pro U400 series:
*Battery Pack (Li-Ion, 9 Cell, 6000mAh) PA3537U-1BRS*

I have recently purchased an Acer Aspire V Nitro VN7-591G-792U Laptop. It has a 3 cell Li Battery. One of the greatest issues with this model (other than heat) is short battery life.Is there a larger battery that can be purchased for this model? [Yes, I know performance takes current, current causes heat and drains batteries. I am asking if I can get a bigger fuel tank.]

A:Is there a larger battery (6 cell) for the Acer As...

Due to the nature of a intergrated battery, on top of the fact that this battery is probably-definitely custom made only for this type of model, I doubt Acer has a larger battery size for it, attributed to the fact that it would need to be bigger, and also not very much needed. If you need proof, look here: http://i1.wp.com/laptopmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/main-text.jpg What I can suggest is that you go to Windows "Power Options" and mess with the controls to reduce battery use, it doesn't seem to do much, but it really, REALLY does. At the cost of performace, which is really only seen if you are doing heavy, intensive work.

First, CALM DOWN and look at my profile picture. Calm? Now post your message. If I helped, a Kudos would be great! Marking as solution will help others as well, thank you!

I need to replace the Coin Cell battery in my 17R-7720. I would like to have the replacement on hand before I open up the computer so I can get the job done in one sitting. The operator's manual (service manual) goes into great detail on how to replace the battery but no where could I find listed WHAT battery it takes. Can anyone identify what is the correct battery for this computer?

A:What Coin Cell battery is used in a 17R-7720?

This isn't a definite answer, but statistically it's going to be a CR2032 because they almost always are.  If you don't get a firm answer from another owner who's done this before and happens to remember, I'd either buy a few different sizes (they're only $1-2 each) or just give up on doing it in one sitting.  After all, it's not more work to do it in two separate phases unless you have to go out of your way to protect the disassembled components from kids, pets, etc.

My computer started acting strange when booting up and I was told it was the coin cell battery (the CR 2032) needed changing.   We took the computer apart and got the old battery out and a new one in but the Coin Cell Battery Slot had come unsoldered from the board so there was no connection.   Can the current slot equipment be re-soldered to the main board or do I have to purchase a whole new board?

A:Coin Cell Battery Slot

It can probably be re-soldered or replaced -- with a shop having the tools and expertise to do that - but it may cost as much as replacing the board (figure on $150 or more), depending on the system model.
