Fujitsu Amilo laptop has got so slow.....close to unworkable

Q: Fujitsu Amilo laptop has got so slow.....close to unworkable

Really need some help with this one.
I have a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo laptop, everything was fine until I upgraded to Windows 10 and now things are getting slower and slower to the point where I click on something and I really have got time to go and make a cup of coffee.
When in Explorer there are hangs and it takes ages to access any folders, Google Chrome just does not open pages sometimes and all other aspects have lag and slowness.
Hope someone here can help me as I am close to throwing in bin and spending money on a new one, but I hope I don't have too.
Many thanks

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello guys, I got my Amilo Pro (Fujitsu Siements) v3515 laptop 1 or 2 years ago with Windows XP (SP2, non-genuine) installed on it (without getting any kind of CD/DVD) + all the drivers needed for my laptop!

I got a modem on my PC which has also wireless internet and connected it to my laptop also. Everything went well until I got a "genuine remover" since I got that stupid "You may be a victim of software enc...".
After I re-booted my computer AVG detected the whole Windows as being a virus...
I had to format the hard disk and install a new Windows (Windows XP Corporate Edition SP3).
Now I don't have any of drivers for my laptop.. (such as the Wireless internet icon at the taskbar) or sound card driver or video card driver etc.

I really need them and I tried lots of things but didn't work.

Please guys help me, I don't want to pay anyone to do that for me because I know I can do it by myself!

Thanks in advantage

hi my fujitsu siemens amilo Li2735 vista home premium laptop's screen broke and the cable plug for the screen broke and it was too expensive to fix so i had to unscrew the screen off so now its just like a keybord and then i got a acer 18.5 lcd monitor instead its worked fine now for a month and suddenly when i Log on now it says no signal if any one can help me out here. one other problem is that when i used to turn on my laptop it would say input not supported for every screen i used till it would get to the welcome screen any suggestions to what i should do with that too. thank you

I have tried unplugging everything and putting it back on and trying other monitors same thing happens.

i have tried pressing Fn+ f10 which is the external monitor key. when i logg on it says input npt supported so i cant even get to safe mode

A:Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Li2735 laptop says no signal to external monitor

Try going into safe mode. If that works then your laptop display setting is set to a too high resolution. Certain LCD external monitors won't handle beyond 1024x768.

Suppose to say
First post here hope its in the correct place.

Anyway the other day i downloaded sound card drivers for my Fujitsu Amilo pro, everything was working fine until i went to turn it on the following day and i got a error message saying
HDD not detected...
I then tried to install Windows XP and this was saying that it couldn't detect the HDD either. I called Fujitsu yesterday and was told that there was a problem with my HDD and that i would need to get a new one. I have taken the HDD from one of my previous laptops (booted fine) and tried to boot of that but when it starts to load windows a blue screen pop up for a mila second and then it restarts.

I have since tried installing XP on my new HDD but after the part where it copys file the system restarts and tries to boot the old version of XP and i am now baffled and dont have any idea on where i should go from here.

P.s. both hard drives are Hitachi.

Thanks in advanced for any help

In the main section of your C drive (in theory) is a folder containing all the drivers - if you open the WLAN folder within this, you'll see a list of files and another folder, either called Software, LM or LaunchManager. Run the executable program within this folder. Once all disk activity stops restart the computer and you should find that Fn+F1 has come back

Hi - New to the forum!

I'm having a couple of problems with my laptop which is coming upto 2 years old in June and has had quite a hammering! I expected these problems to arrive eventually, although im wondering if they can be fixed before spending out on a new laptop.

My problem started when my AC Adaptor packed in - the end broken inside so I purchased a cheap one off ebay. The charger was rubbish - short wire and it never stayed on charge! So I purchased another cheap reconditioned one off eBay but it was a li shin one and has been working fantastic.

Then, one day I came to boot up my laptop, and I got a blue screen. So I did a reformat and this cured it. Although, doing this lead to other problems - such as the keyboard playing up, when I hit certain buttons such as 'm, v, c and x' they dont on the laptops keyboard. I also got a grinding noise from the laptop fan, so I openned it up and the casing of the fan was getting in the way of the fan itself. So I fixed that by bending up the fan casing (on the motherboard) so it wasn't catching - this worked. But im still faced by the problem of the keys not functioning. Sometimes the keys do work - when I say this I mean they work when the laptop has just been booted up.

Any help or guidence would be appreciated!

Hi Guys,

Hoping someone will be able to help me... I read lots of post from people having a simillar problem to myself and have seen lots of suggestions but not definitive answers.

The Problem:
I have (had) Vista running on the laptop in question but it has crashed and is asking for the original CD. I do not have this CD nor do I have any form of recovery disk. I do have a copy of XP which I would like to install. However, I am unable to do this due to the fact that XP does not understand the SATA drive.

Thankfully I have a second laptop allowing me to get on to this site to ask you lot!

The Problem continued:
Having read several posts I understand that you need to make some form of CD with XP and HDD drivers on (??) BUT, I can't find the correct drivers nor do I really understand how to go about making such CD.

Is anyone out there in a position to tell me EXACTLY how I go about fixing this? I'm reasonably proficient with PCs but not when it comes to drivers and such like so a step by step instruction list would be ideal!!!

Thanks in advance all!

I have a problem. My sisters' Amilo 2727 has an issue with its fan. It has stopped running. However, I am stumped as to how to remove the fan. I have bought another, but cannot get to the fan to take it out. I have emailed Fujitsu asking for a disassembally manual, and they have very helpfully told me that "the laptop is out of warranty, and manuals are not released into the public sector, and therefore we cannot help you.." How very kind of them..
Does anyone have any idea how I can get this out? Any help will be massively appreciated..

Hi guys( and girls )

I have a Fujitsu Amilo Pro V2055 laptop. I am trying to use a Sony Projector using the VGA socket at the rear of the laptop. Despite trying the obvious "display settings" and the "troubleshooter" I have been unable to get the projector to be recognised by the laptop.

I have tried the projector on 2 other laptops and 2 pc's and it works straight away so I am sure there is a missing bit of software or a driver somewhere. I have also tried a different projector and had the same problem.

Tried going onto Fujitsu support site but does not appear to be functioning and now getting desperate, hence my appeal to you brainy ones!

Let me know what you need to see and I will send any info.

The WLAN LED is black, no activity, and the Network and Sharing Center didn't see any available network.
I tried to solve the problem on the Windows 7 control panel, but it said "try to switch ON the hardware".

I installed the Launch Manager (downloaded from the manufacturer's page, Vista version), and it's running, but when I push the WLAN button nothing happening.

Any idea?

For some reason known only to themselves FS have decided that to gain access to wireless internet on their Amilo laptops (I have an Li2735) you have to turn it on via Fn + F1, it is not automatic.
I have got around this using a .vbs file which runs via Startup (actual file is in Prog Files with a shortcut to it in Startup). Basically the .vbs file runs automatically and conects up the wireless without the need to use Fn+F1.
The .vbs file content is as follows:

Set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
Set oExec = WshShell.Exec("C:\Program Files\Launch Manager\WisWBSet.exe")
do while WshShell.AppActivate("Wireless Status Option")=False
WScript.Sleep 100
WScript.Sleep 100

My question is this, on occasions this runs fine and the wireless hooks up no problem, the GUI displays momentarily then disappears. On most occasions though the GUI hangs and I have to manually select WLAN then click to connect.
Any advice on how to stop this happening? I thought maybe it has something to do with when Startup actually runs in the start up sequence but don't know how to check this or alter it.

hello stevex

has it ever connected automatically ?

try this... start > connect to (right side) > right click on your router , and choose "properties" > connections tab > make sure theres a check in the box to connect automatically......hope this helps....good luck !

Many thanks in advance for taking the time and trouble to read this.

I have a Fujitsu Amilo LI 3910 that was basically not a happy machine. I formatted the hard drive and reintalled Windows 7 Home Premium from a download. The reinstall seemed to go fine, but from the start it would take forever to boot up (from event viewer - Boot Time-484930, mainpathboottime-444430).

I scanned the Hard drive (with Vivard) and the memory (with memtest) both came back with no errors.

I wondered if the download was dodgy, so re-downloaded it from the digital river site and checked the MD5, which was fine.

There is nothing flagged in device manager.

All I can see in event viewer is "Event filter with query "Select * from_instanceModificationEvent within 60 where.......etc etc".

Ive tried verious solutions that I've found through google, all to no avail.

I thought this would give me a nice new fast machine, it hasnt! Please help!

Many thanks

A:Fujitsu Amilo reinstall takes more than 5 minutes to boot

Ok, this is still a problem, below is a summary of what I've tried so far....
? Ran sfc /scannow ? it found no issues
? Ran sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c:\ /offwindir=c:\windows again, no issues found
? Ran ?sigverif.exe? to check for non signiature verified drivers ? they're all verified
? Updated all device drivers, no change
? Ran msconfig and selected "Diagnostic boot"....it was still very slow (making me think windows or hardware issue? Would that be right?
? Flashed the BIOS using software from the manufacturers website

That's a whole list of straws and I've clutched them all!

Considering throwing the machine from the highest place I can find....please help!

Hello Member's
Is anyone experiencing problems with a Sagem [email protected] 800 modem when booting up into WinXP sp2 on a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo A.

I find sometimes the modem ADSL light will continually flash (hasn't syncronised), but the power light is on, even thought the desktop is fully loaded.

I find somtimes a quick flash on the modem lights , and then a flash of a 'Blue screen', then (a sort-of MS-DOS)'Safe mode' option screen appears of which i choose 'Normal Restart', then no modem lights are on when arriving at the 'Fully loaded' desktop point.

But the modem will always work if i unplug, and then plug it back into the USB port, after i'm at the 'fully loaded' desktop stage.

I have installed the latest modem drivers, and my pc is well up-to-date with 'MS Patches & Updates'.

I did visit the 'Sagem' support website page, they suggest turning 'APM' to 'off', but i carn't find where to do that in the 'Bios' (no 'Power Management' tab), or where to change a 'Plug and Play' setting also.

I did try the modem through a 'Powered USB Hub', this didn't make a difference.

I also wanted to update my 'Bios' version, and went to the 'Fujitsu' website, i found the webpage for this, but, i don't understand which link is relevant to my needs, is it the 'ACPI' or the 'Winflash&... Read more

A:Problem with Sagem moden & Fujitsu Siemens Amilo A

I've found that when i defraged my computer, the modem has a better chance of syncing, and then the USB drivers will load, but not everytime.

This must mean that the issue is not with the supplied power from the 'Laptop' or a USB 'hub', but more the order of which everything is loading at boot-up, is there a way to control this?

Is there a way of knowing what the model number is my Amilo A, i've lost my original receipt of purchase, i did look under My Computer > Properties > the General tab, and also Programs > Acessories > System Tools > System Information, and in the 'BIOS', i also looked under the base of the unit. The reason for wanting to know the number is:

a: So i can get more 'RAM'
b: So i can get relevant system hardware 'driver' updates.

Any help would be greatfully received

When I tried booting my laptop, it signals that Windows has failed and gives me two options: 'launch repair' or 'normal startup'. The latter brings me back to the Window failed position. The former proceeds to show 'windows is loading files' which then goes to a blue screen (maybe what you call BSOD) that shows 'Fujitsu Siemens Computers Recovery'. After that I have the option to 1. Backup recovery default setting or 2. Restore default setting which, of course, would erase all my data.

Since I never backed up my factory default () I insert a dvd and choose the first option which brings me back just there. I've looked at reviews on this laptop and saw a complaint about it's inability to boot from this point. I want to purchase the recovery disk for Windows for this laptop to boot and gain access to my data but I'm afraid it may be a waste as the laptop may not boot from the disk.

I've found this site that sells the recovery disk: http://www.user-guides.co.uk/download/amilo/amilopi/amilo-pi-2515-bios-repair.html (option 5- Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pi 2515 Data Recovery Windows 7 XP Vista). I want to purchase it but I don't want to waste 20GBP if it fails to boot.

Please advise me.

Problem with Fujitsu Siemens Amilo XL SERIES 3220W LCD Screen I have a really annoying problem with my 22 inch Fujitsu Siemens Amilo XL SERIES 3220W LCD screen and I can't seem to find what is wrong. It is only really noticeable in games then in Windows but still can be seen when scrolling a page fast.

Its a defect where when objects on the screen move fast, trails of colour (usually weird colours of purple and green) trail on the edges of the objects. It is perfectly fine with still images or slow moving objects onscreen. This is a really annoying problem and I am not sure whether to take it back in and replace it or if there is some way to fix it. Is there some setting of colour i need to set or what? Please help me

Thanks in advance.

It may be blank if you never made one. Also, you may want to contact the manufacturer and see if they set a factory admin password when they first installed Windows.

I have a problem installing Ultimate on my laptop. When I get to the part of the install where I choose wich hard drive or partition to install it on, the installation doesn't detect any of my hard drives.

From what I've gathered from browsing different forums my problem lies in that I have to install drivers for the disc controller in order to detect the hard drives as I belive the drives are in a RAID-setup, but I can't seem to find the right ones.

From the information in the Controlpanel in Vista (wich I'm currently running) I've gathered that I have a:

* Intel(R) 82801HEM/HBM SATA AHCI Controller
* Intel(R) ICH8M Ultra ATA storage Controllers - 2850

I've tried to load the drivers for these that I got from Fujitsu-Siemens, but I get the same problem. Could it be that these drivers are just for Vista? And in that case where do I find some for Win7? I've seen posts from people running Win7 on the same laptop so it should be possible to preform the install, but how?

Help greatly appriciated!

Did you make a partition to install Win7 on?

I take it you are dual booting?

If so you can follow Brinks Guide

I have a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Pro v2030 which is slowly dying: I've already replaced the fan and now the hard disk has died completely. Considering the DVD-RW drive has now decided to stop reading DVDs, I've decided it's time to replace both the hard disk and the DVD-RW. I know it's probably cheaper in the long-run to just buy a new laptop, but I'm taking vengeance on this one's numerous shortcomings by refusing to let it die!

According to the manufacturer's website (http://uk.ts.fujitsu.com/rl/service...O/Amilo-Pro/Amilo_Pro_V2030.htm#Specification), the old hard drive - a 40gb Samsung disk - was SATA 150. I've been looking around for a new disk and I quite like the look of a Western Digital 320gb drive (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/136790) - however, this is SATAII and thus SATA 3 Gbit/s specification. I've read elsewhere that the new specification is often backwards-compatible, but that some older SATA controllers can't negotiate the speed and may require a jumper. Can anyone advise me on whether or not my Amilo Pro v2030 is such an affected system - or can I buy the SATAII drive and have it work fine without a jumper? Furthermore, will it run at at the old 150 spec or does my system's components support SATAII natively?

Lastly, in terms of replacing the DVD-RW drive: I know that my drive is a Lite-On but I'm not sure of the model number. Getting to the drive requires removal of all sorts of components and I&#... Read more

A:Replacing hard drive and DVD-RW on Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Pro v2030

You will want to stick with sata1 for the hard drive.
I have seen some desktop drives with a compatability jumper,
but never seen a laptop drive with one.

The DVD drive appears to be a standard IDE PATA slim drive.
You can get something like this.
DVD drive
And swap the face plate.
Might want to do a search for it.
You can probably find it cheaper.

Please help me folks. I am running into quite an insane situation now.
Hi folks,
Its me again after couple of years of peace, recently headaches returned. Began some weeks ago, IE11 my main browser began to slow down. Slow down gradually increase in frequencies in terms of pages loading and closing of tabs (the X on the top right for example), shutting down of IE11.
Thought IE11 was the culprit, switched to Firefox and Chrome - though the problems not as surfing with IE11, but similar problems happening.
Initially some plenty of weeks ago (2-4 months), when IE11 hangs began, I thought it was my laptop's mouse faulty. Changed 3 of them to use, changed batteries,  initally seemed to resolve IE 11 hang problems. Subsequently, doesn't seem changing mouse was the way.
Now I am writing this page using Chrome Browser. The IE11 appears to be istalled, but cannot find the browser ICON to launch. Strangely there is a Internet Options dialog bix which can be clicked, launched to set up the various IE options. But the browser no where to be found for launch.
Oer the last 20 days or so, I have been surfing many websites, and doing downloads of many Android OS ROMS. The last some days of which, my ESET and Malwarebytes anti malware programs both of which displayed few 'malicious' warnings which I kind of awared that they were letting me know they were doing their jobs, but specifically I didn't read thoroughly what they said via th...
