Bluetooth Headset Controls with Toshiba Bluetooth Stack

Q: Bluetooth Headset Controls with Toshiba Bluetooth Stack

Hello!

I recently installed the latest version of the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack (v9.10.32T) for one of my desired applications to properly function. However, connecting my Bluetooth headphones through Toshiba's bluetooth manager does not seem to support the media buttons on the headset. These include Play/Pause and seek buttons. Before the Bluetooth stack, when I used my default bluetooth driver for connection, these controls had worked fine.

Also, there does not seem to be a specific setting to fix this in the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack Options.
How would I go about getting these controls back?

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I have an Advent 4211 laptop and when i try to use a bluetooth dongle I get the error message "Thank you for evaluating the bluetooth stack for windows by Toshiba. The licence . Please obtain a new one"

I have downloaded and installed the Toshiba stack but still get the same error message.I then find out that I can only get a licence through the OEM supplier - Advent.

How do I do this?

Now that I am using the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack, I lost the option of Logitech Setpoint to configure the keysettings (Media buttons) of my keyboard and mouse.

Hi guperan,

Welcome to Seven forums.

We would need to know which bluetooth card is installed on the system. You would need to install the bluetooth driver/software for the system.

Driver Install - Device Manager

If you are unsure of the same then, kindly update your system specs here by following this.

Also, let us know the hardware id of the bluetooth card installed on the system:

Hardware Identification

Keep us posted with the results so we can advise you further.

I am having a bluetooth adapter installed on my PC. Now I wanted to connect my Samsung HM1100 headset with it. It paired and everything but during installation of driver it says "NO DRIVER FOUND". I have tried too many times and I have also installed a bluetooth driver "SILICON WAVE BLUETOOTH DRIVER".
Actually its a dongle I'm having. So it didn't require any drivers but it won't connect to my bluetooth headset.
Help will be appreciated.

As you know I quad boot and this is happening in all my OS's for some unknown reason. As it first happened in Vista, that's why I'm asking here.

Everything was working fine as usual until I decided this morning that it was about time I looked at my Sandisk Cruzer Contour U3 drive and updated it's software.

Normally this is routine. however this time it caused Vista to immediately reboot. Since then my Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000 KB & Mouse plus dongle may as well not exist - to make matters worse, in all my OS's. Thank God I keep my trusty old M$ basic optical mouse and internet keyboard connected just in case.

I've tried unplugging/replugging the dongle, rebooting etc. etc. but it's as if Windows doesn't want to know about it. There is nothing in Device Manager and when I scan for hardware changes it finds nothing.

Why, after months of trouble-free use, would this suddenly start?

I will admit that on occasion in the past inserting the U3 drive has caused a reboot and has even caused the mouse and keyboard to disconnect, but that has always been temporary and has remained a mystery to me and Bill Gates (I presume because M$ are useless when I ask them).

I'm hoping that. after a lengthy rest, i.e. turned off, Windows will forgive whatever transgression I'm guilty of, and decide to "see" the darn thing.

Addendum: I gave it a long rest while I went to shave an shower. Remembered that I had an identical MSFT BT 3.0 dongle from another... Read more

Hi there!

I have a problem with my :Logitech Dinovo Laser receiver.

It all started when I installed a program called motioninjoy (MotioninJoy | Playstation 3|Xbox 360|Dualshock 3|Sixaxis|Game|Driver|), which is a progrtam/driver that enables PS3 controllers (DS3) to be used on windows. Great little program, however I made a cock up during the installation. I also updated the bluetooth through the broadcom program that checks your device and updates the relevant software (was doing this to get the PS3 headest to work on my PC), however I think it is the former that is causing the problem.

When I installed it (on Monday I think), it said to remove all BT adaptors aprt from the one you wish to pair the DS3 with, as I only have one I kept it in. As you progress down the page, it tells you that you will change the adaptor so only the DS3 will connect to it! Which was a bit late. I uninstalled everything and it seemed fine. But since then I have lost all bluetooth functionality (have checked the setup on my netbook and everything is fine).

It started off with me not being able to add any devices via bluetooth, only the dinovo set would work. The logitech connection assistant cannot get me to a point where I can connect another device. I uninstalled the logitech setpoint software, and reinstalled it. Now it stalls when 'locating bluetooth radio' and I have nothing that resembles bluetooth in device manager either. But when I connect it, I just seem to have extra HID items. A fri... Read more

Hi there,

I did buy an bluetooth stereo-headset and would like to use it with my Sony Vaio laptop. Yet pairing doesn't work, it doesn't get detected. Here are my questions:

1. Could it be, that my bluetooth mouse is at fault for this, is blocking it? I have it connected now (before trying it the first time) with the optional cable (it's a Razer Orochi). How can I know if I can exclude the mouse as an error source or not?

2. Are laptops "multipoint"-capable at all? (I bought my one soon after its release in Q1/Q2 of 2010!) My one has "Bluetooth? 2.1 + EDR". You find a screenshot of my Bluetooth-Hardware-ID attached. It's a Broadcom thingy, I just updated it with their tool (as a Sony update didn't help/wasn't available), yet this didn't help too.

3. I've heard that Microsoft Windows (7) does not natively support A2DP-capable bluetooth hardware (as my headset), is that true? In this context I heard too, that for compatibility, you need a "bluetooth stack" software which costs a dime? Is that true? Do I need it, where do I get it and which would be the suitable one for my laptop?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Kind regards

The emasculated Vista Bluetooth stack has been the subject of ongoing debate since Vista's inception, and now it continues with Windows 7. (I multi-boot and I see the same issues in both OS's). The question has always been, why did Microsoft castrate their own stack and make it so difficult to use 2 different stacks simultaneously?

It worked fine in XP where I actually had 3 Bluetooth dongles all up and running....!

I'm using the Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Keyboard & Mouse which use a v3.0 transceiver. It works fine if it's the only receiver.

My new PC also has a 28-in-1 media card reader w/Bluetooth (v2.0) in the 3rd optical drive bay, and I have to disable its driver or Microsoft gets all upset and wont come out and play. The reader uses Broadcomm drivers.

Has anyone got suggestions on this dilemma? If I can get them both to work together in Vista then I can do it in Windows 7...I hope.

Unable to start bluetooth stack. Any suggestions? What is a bluetooth stack?

A:Error: Unable to start bluetooth stack

Is that a startup error or when you try to connect to bt device?

Roughly bluetooth stack means bluetooth drivers. E.g. there is the widcomm stack (now broadcom) or the Microsoft stack.

If you use bluetooth, you need to grab the right drivers for your computer. Make sure all bt services are started and set to automatic startup (at least initially, you can tinker with them later). In device manager, check that there are no yellow exclamation marks against bluetooth radios. You may run into problems with peripheral drivers but the first thing is to locate the right driver.

If you dont use bt, ignore above advice.

OTOH, if its just a startup error you want to get rid of, click on Start orb, type msconfig, click Startup tab, then uncheck any bt entries. Reboot.

Hello,

I need to install broadcom or toshiba stack on it to enable bluetooth pairing with my headphones and portable speaker, which right now does not get detected in pairing mode.

I have tried uninstalling the devices from the device manager (Enumerator and Radio) and then renaming the BTF.INF and BTH.PNF files for the windows to let me install drivers and stack of my choice. However whenever I rescan the hardware (after removal of standard builtin drivers) , the old BTH (inf/pnf) files get restored automatically and are selected for the bluetooth installation. Dont know how to circumvent this auto installation.

Can anyone please guide me how to do the needful and also post the download link for the reliable third party bluetooth stack working in Windows 8./8.1

Thanks for your support.

A few days ago I began to receive the above noted error message. The system locked up, more or less, until this message would appear after about 15 minutes.

I have a Dell XPS M1530 with Windows Vista Business, SP2. I do not use bluetooth connectivity between my laptop and external devices.

To resolve this error, I did the following:

Start --> Programs --> Dell Quickset --> Radio Control Options
Click "Advanced Settings" button
Click "Radio Control Options" Tab
Unselect "Bluetooth"
OK --> OK
Click Bluetooth Taskbar Icon --> Disable Bluetooth Devices
I hope this helps because I could not find anything on the Internet with this solution. Hours on the phone with Dell proved, unsurprisingly, to be a waste of time.
