Flex 5 - pen input reacts like touch input

Q: Flex 5 - pen input reacts like touch input

I've been fiddling with this on and off for months, but I don't know if the problem is with the touchscreen, Windows 10, the drivers, my software, or some combination of those, so none of my troubleshooting has really gotten me anywhere. I bought the Flex 5 and the active pen intending to use the touch screen like a Cintiq monitor, in addition to the Huion graphics tablet I already own, but any pen input just reacts like touch input, making imposible to work comfortably in any painting/animation programs. I also can't figure out a setup that will let me use the active pen and my tablet at the same time; Huion and Wacom drivers don't seem to play nice with each other, so I can't have them both installed at once if I want either of them to be recognized in my software and have pressure sensitivity. I have turned off "tablet mode" in Settings, and in the Control Panel I've disabled "Flicks" and "press-and-hold to right-click". Regardless, using either the active pen or my tablet (which doesn't even interact with the touch screen) will make my computer react like I'm using my finger -- same visual feedback, press-and-hold still right-clicks, dragging with the pen will scroll around the webpage/canvas, etc. Depending on the software I'm using and which drivers are currently installed I can sometimes draw and get pressure sensitivity, but I'll still keep accidentally triggering touch commands with the pen that interrupt my work flow. Even if it's at the cost of touch functionality, I need pen input to work properly. With one of my pens, at the very least, but if it's possible I would like to be able to use both the active pen and my Huion tablet at the same time without having to change my setup.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hey all, I've been having this issue for a while in OneNote and Drawboard (because it happens in these 2 applications I believe it's a platform=laptop issue and not applications):1. I put annotations on top of PDF printouts in OneNote and in Drawboard PDF using my pen in tablet-like keyboard position2. Right after that touch input stops working for a while, as if it was not touch-enabled device. After 5-15 secs it comes back to life3. This issue does not reproduce when keyboard is in laptop position Has anyone had a similar issue on the same laptop/other Lenovo laptops? My system is a BestBuy-specific sister version of Yoga 14". Thanks,Danil

I upgraded my Flex 3 to Windows 10, and everything seems to work, but I'm getting extremely annoying "freezes" with input. For example, if I move the mouse (touchpad or separate USB mouse) around continuously, it will freeze for a moment once every few seconds. The same thing happens with the keyboard. It doesn't happen at all at the lock or login screen immediately after a reboot, it only starts once I log in. This first happened after doing a Windows 10 Upgrade from 8.1, and then again happened after doing a clean install of Win10. Has anybody seen anything like this before?

A:Flex 3 15 - Input lag in WIn 10

Typing it out helped, I guess, because I was able to track down the source of the problem. The source of the issue is FMAPP.exe, which is part of the Realtek HD Audio Manager. I can't figure out what FMAPP does, though, so i just renamed the file so it can't be run, and everything is fine. Realtek doesn't even complain about it being missing.

I have purchased both the Wacom Bamboo and the Lenovo Active Pen to use with my Flex 5 computer. While pressure sensitivity and input work pretty well, I have a problem with my pen randomly clicking or, when I finish a brush stroke, it swipes a line across the screen. As an artist, this is really frustrating. I've tried it in Paint Tool SAI and Photoshop. Photoshop fairs better, but SAI is my main art program so. . . hm.

Really having some wonk issues with these last two Lenovo products I've bought. It's nuts. Latest weird thing that's happening seems to be some sort of unintended input. Occasionally, I've had the focus repeatedly stolen from an input field I was typing in. I have to click on the field several times, only to have it taken away again, like the mouse is clicking elsewhere. (I've been having issues with clicking things accidentally firing double-clicks--maybe my mouse buttons are faulty? Both the X1E I returned and this X1C have done that.) The other strange thing that's happening is that in iTunes, if I pause my music, it will resume itself 5 seconds later, like the play button some keyboards have was pressed. But this keyboard doesn't even have that, as far as I can tell. It feels like my computer is inventing input. It's maddening.  Any clues? My opinion of Lenovo products has sharply dropped these last couple months.

Sorry for the silly question, but I am really lost with Windows 8. Did a quick search, but nothing came up (Keyword will only result in how to set input in Win8, not the problem presented here).
Here is the issue.

The short version of the question is how do I move the #@#[email protected]%$#^%$ (display gibberish somehow, boxed in red below) input method above Microsoft Pinyin, while keeping English as my default Display language and Input language.
Longer version here:
I use English and Chinese input, but the default MS Chinese input is "inconvenient", so I installed another input software for Chinese input (the gibberish above, or lets call it method ABCD).
The order I want is English as my default Input method and display, while ABCD as my default Chinese input (when I hit Alt + Shift, should switch from English to ABCD). However, since I can't get ABCD above MS-PinYing, when I Alt+Shift it auto switch to MS-Pinyin, not ABCD (Manually switch from MS to ABCD gets annoying).
In WinXp/Win7 I only need to manually switch to ABCD once, and the system remembers it, but Win8 for some reason automotcally load the language list on every start up =/
Also in WinXp/Win7, I can delete MS-PinYin while keeping ABCD (so I only have English and ABCD), but Win8 doesn't allow me to do that as I must have MS-input or the second line (highlight in green) in language perference doesn't even appear.
There are some additional points/details.
1 - I must set Chinese as "Language for non-... Read more

A:NO INPUT SUPPORTED--Desktop Computer Stuck On Input Not Supp...

Hi there @145755, I hope you find your Support Forum experience a positive one!  It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel.  I understand that you have changed a setting on your computer and now the display is not working.  I am happy to give you a hand with this. Please post the full product number for your computer. See the following, if you need help with that information.  HP Desktop PCs - How Do I Find My Model Number, Serial Number or Product Number? I would suggest you try to start your computer in Safe mode to load basic screen settings. See this document: HP PCs - Windows Safe Mode (Windows 10, 8). As you are unable to see the display properly at this time you will need to follow the process described for "Entering Safe Mode without access to Startup Settings".  If you are able to get in, then make the needed adjustments to your display settings, then restart your system normally to see if the display will come up properly. If not try a different screen resolution. Please let me know whether that works for you, and if it does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a solution. Kudos would also be appreciated.

I have a Dell D610 laptop w/ XP Pro SP2... or had.

I have a corrupted registry entry hosing the keyboard input. The mouse works fine up until the point when I kit the first key on the keyboard when under the Graphical Windows interface. After I hit any key, the mouse freezes as well. This happens if I use the laptop keyboard or an external keyboard connected to a PS2 jack.

I have performed hours of troubleshooting and it is not the keyboard hardware. Keyboard input works during all non-graphical UI (BIOS, Recovery Console, etc.). I even removed the drive and plugged it in to another computer. I made a copy of the WINNT\system32\config files (sam, default, security, system, software) and replaced them w/ a copy of these files from WINNT\repair. The computer boots to Graphical Windows and I am able to type in this session just fine.

How can I "erase" the keyboard driver corruption in the registry (or perhaps a corrupted driver file or set of files)? The problem is that I can't boot the system to a point where I can edit the "corrupted" keyboard entries. I can't use the Recovery Console because I don't have the Administrator password. So I tried to install SP3 from a bootable CD. The minute it asks me to type in the Product Key (a graphical dialog box), input is frozen a the first keystroke (even a key like Caps Lock). Can I actually edit the registry that resides on the boot drive while it is connected to another computer? Any other suggest... Read more

video editing software like Adobe Premiere. the best, easiest, and cheapest bets would be to try the tuner software first.

I have an A530 that will not connect when using the PC input, but the HDMI out port works fine.  So I attempted to connect to an external monitor and it worked.  So I know the actual HDD is working and that the computer is running properly. I then took an HDMI cable and ran it from the HDMI out port to the HDMI in port and the screen is now receiving the signal from the PC. So now I know both the PC and the A530 screen are working. The PC is out of warranty. Any idea why this is happening?  I currently have an HDMI cable connecting the in/out ports and the computer works, but I'd like to go back to it just using the pc and have an available HDMI port.

Windows automatically updated last night before shutting down. When I turned on the computer this morning, the HP w2207h monitor was not functioning properly. Each time I rebooted, I received the message "HDMI Input: No Input Signal" before the monitor went to sleep.

I do not believe it is a problem with the sleep and display settings as I have dual monitors and the EN9910 is functioning properly; both are set to NEVER anyway. Further, I have plugged our SONY television into the HDMI port and it works just fine.

I have also plugged the monitor into another computer, using the same cable, and both worked just fine. The hp monitor also functions in the utility mode. Problem seems to exist only when Starting Windows.

This has happened once before with a Windows Update, but I don't recall the solution.

Please help.

Software & Driver Downloads HP w2207h 22 inch LCD Monitor | HP? Support

But mate I also think you may have answered it yourself in another way. Can you remember when this started happening? If so system restore back to before that date.

Then it is just a matter of downloading any updates if this is what is - one or two at a time until you find which one is the culprit. Make a not of that one and each time it comes up untick it to download / install.

Recently received this laptop as my old one died, but it didn't have a hard drive. Installed a hard drive and Windows 7 64bit on the laptop. Installed all drivers and utilities on HP's driver page. I have no unknown devices in Device Manager. Under HID I have Wacom Virtual Hid Driver, and three "HID compliant device" items listed. Under Keyboard, I just have Standard PS/2. Under Control Panel - Pen and Touch, I have no touch tab.Any ideas?

I recently got this device with no harddrive. I installed one and booted windows 8.1. It installed just fine and works great for the most part. But the touchscreen is not recognized. I know that being a new harddrive, the computer probably wouldn't recognize it right off the bat without further installation of something. I installed all of the drivers from Lenovo Downloads for the device. Most of them were fine, but using the touchscreen firmware driver gets me nowhere, saying that there is no controller recognized in this system. It also says that this upgrade may not apply to my system.
If I have a touchscreen, how can i make a fresh install of Windows 8.1 recognize it?

Hello, I recently bought a HP Envy M7 Smart Touch Energy Saver laptop, after a month of using it I just became so irritated by Windows 10 constantly freezing or apps crashing (due to compatibility).  So I Installed Windows 8.1 In order to maintain the touch screen interface in the laptop, after I installed windows 8.1 I downloaded all of the drivers available for my Laptop, after updating every single aspect, my Windows System Information states "No Pen or Touch Input", I cannot seem to find any touch screen drivers in the HP website and there are some drivers in Device Manager with an exclamation mark as "Unknown Devices", I've enabled view hidden devices and there's no sign of any touch screen driver. I made a component test in UFI to see if there was a faulty with the touch screen and there's not, it's just a driver compatibility issue. Any help? Please and thank you

Hi Reachist! Welcome to SevenForums! Try right-clicking on TACTION and going to properties. Then to the Details Tab and from the drop-down menu choose Hardware IDs. There'll probably be two. Post them back and I'll try and help.

Has any one modified a Power Suply to Take 12 volt DC Input?

I would very much like to hear from you, or any one you may of heard of that has done this.

I wanted to Put a desktop case etc. in my car and use it to listen to music...

Thanks to anyone who replies...

A:DC Input Power Supply (12 volt input)

A standard Computer PSU rectifies the incoming mains (120 or 240 volt) and the "chops" it in a switchmode type power conversion.

Therefore as it starts with a high DC voltage (120 or 240 V AC rectified to DC) there is no easy conversion to make it use 12 V instead. Without a complete rebuild and redesign of the PSU.

By far the cheapest and easiest way is to use an off-the-shelf 12 V inverter that converts 12V to 120 or 240 V AC, and then you dont need to bother rebuilding the power supply from scratch.

Has the advantage of easily sourced power supply units for the PC. You would likely get away with a small 200 Watt unit.

If you have an HDMI OUTPUT on your PC, on many you have to manually set the HDMI on the Video card as the default playback device, rather than the usual "speakers". Go to the Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Sound Panel and on the Playback you will probably have an icon for the HDMI, select that as the default playback device and you should get the PC audio in the HDMI signal.

I have an HP Pavilion A6421.uk computer with an HP w2007v monitor. (The OS is Windows Vista).I've been getting the message "VGA Input - No Input Signal" and the monitor appears to be in sleep mode permanently. I've checked all the connections, cables etc and I have also connected the monitor to an old computer, where it worked fine. I'm guessing I need a new graphics card but don't know how to go about changing it. I have

Could I take out the graphics card from the old computer and put it in the new one? The old computer is a Dell Dimension 5000 (Windows XP).
Or would it be an option to swap hard drives? (I urgently need to access my work but the old computer got a virus and doesn't work properly).I don't know the first thing about hardware really, so wondered what any of you would recommend I do:
1. Just buy a new graphics card and replace the old one - in which case, what would I buy?
2. Put the graphics card from the old machine into the new one. How do I do this and does anyone have any diagrams?
3. Swap the hard drives so that I use the old box with the new monitor. (this is probably a stupid idea, but who knows).

It appears that my touch and pen input failed today. When it first happened I was drawing in Autodesk Sketchbook, the window deselected suddenly and pen input stopped working. I have an Acer Aspire M computer with a touch screen that runs Windows 8.1. I was having issues with the touch screen, so I went to download the drivers from the Acer website. However, when I restarted my computer to complete the installation, it wouldn't allow me to use either the mouse, touch screen, or keyboard.
Normally, after loading, a personalized picture will appear on the screen, displaying the time, connectibility, and strength of the network. The user is then supposed to swipe up, click on, or press space to move the picture, at which point the login screen appears. My computer loads normally when starting, but won't allow me to use the mouse, touch screen, or keyboard to move the picture out of the way, so I cannot access the login screen.
I have already contacted the Acer company support and attempted to use the battery reset pinhole, but to no avail. Is there anything I can do, besides a factory reset or using it as a cat bed?

A:No touch, mouse, or keyboard input after computer reset

using it as a cat bed

Probably best.

You could uninstall those drivers, looks like you will need to do it from outside windows.

You would need a decent winpe., which you probably don't have, nigh on impossible to make one given your situation.

System restore to just before the problem may do the job.

Try that and see.

Everytime, when I am moving from one place to another I have to turn the keyboard around, rather than simply put it into the standby mode by turning off the screen, like I do with my tablets or phones. Till now I fought that setting the power button to turn on and off the screen should act like the standby mode, but when I hit the power button and the screen goes off, it still turns on by touching it. I am not interested in putting the laptop into the sleep mode, as I am using it to different situations and it is to slow to wake up a machine from it. I would be suprised if there would not be any way to enable the standby mode in my TPY like it works with other tablets/phones.

so i keep having to (re)start the service. (note: the problem only occurs after i had stopped the service one time before)

so is there any way to make it stay up, and not keep having to restart it? yes i have tried setting it to Automatic, and Automatic (delayed start)... all the Recovery options (in case the service fails) are set to "Restart the Service" (reset fail count after 1 day), (restart service after 1 minute) i checked for dependencies, and couldn't see any.

I have a brand-new ThinkPad T560 (20FH002DUS) that is experiencing ghost input with the touch screen. I've left the laptop sitting next to me and occaisionally it will light up with random inputs all along the bottom left corner of the monitor. The driver pack I used for imaging is the latest one found here: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/olddownloads/ds112139I've also updated the BIOS.

Got my Spectre X360 15.6 2017 edition few days ago and immediately notice this very annoying issue. In short, the touch function is disabled for about 2 seconds after using the pen, which means everytime when you finish writing something with the pen, you have to wait for about 2 seconds before the touch screen responds to your finger input.  This is really annoying, it slows down my workflow dramatically. And I have never experienced this kind of issue before on any other devices using NTrig digitizer, and I have used a lot NTrig devices (Fujistu 550, HTC Flyer, Sony Vaio Duos, Vaio Flips, Microsoft Surfaces). But I did noticed similar issues on some Wacom AES devices like the Thinkpad Yoga 14. I do remember HP mentioned somewhere that the pen uses Universal Windows Pen protocol, Is this part of the new protocol? Anyway, please please please, HP! Fix this problem and release a firmware update ASAP, I really like the Spectre X360, You guys did a good job in general, but this is a deal breaker, I would hate to send it back.

Hey to everyone. I have a question since lenovo seems to lack on a informations when it comes to this. I bought a used X220 and cant identify if it should be multitouch or pen input only model. Screen part number is (according to lenovo page):04W3462Model Number is 42962WUTouchscreen with finger doesnt work ( if it has any).I dont have a pen (stylus) currently since it was not provided with laptop BUT:Windows in properties says : No pen or touch input is available for this display .Reinstalled windows freshly twice along with drivers (once manually downloaded , second time used Lenovo System update)Still says the same, and there is no tablet or pen and touch settings in control panel. In some other topics , someone suggested to similar problem as a solution installing wacom pen drivers, lenovo digitizer drivers etc.Tried provided drivers , and with every driver throws the same error : a supported tablet was not found on the systemMaybe it has to detect pen near the laptop and it should be fine?Did I just got ripped off? Thanks a bunch!

A:X220 Tablet Screen type identify ( and touch input...

Ok, so the lcd is definitely multitouch , which is now a reason to concern .Basically , windows recognize it as a laptop, no hid touch input devices in device manager whatsoever. Is this a common issue? Tryed unpluging and plugging back in LCD micro cables but nothing.

HiI am getting very frustrated with this problem and I would love it if someone were to help me out. I prefer to use my touchpad by clicking with my thumb and then dragging with my index finger. However, the bottom of the touchpad still has touch input so when I want to click and drag, it doesn't always work or the mouse doesn't move smoothly. This is because the touchpad thinks I want to move the mouse with my thumb, and doesn't read the input from my index finger. In order to solve this, I would like to find a way to disable the touchpad in only the bottom (i.e. create a deadzone), so that it only reads clicking inputs, and not touch input. If anyone knows how to do this please tell me! Thank you!

I have a fairly serious issue on my hands.
2 days ago, my computer decided to stop taking input from anything (mouse, keyboard, and touch). I am unable to do anything past the Windows splash screen. Going into the BIOS shows that the computer is working normally, and my mouse, keyboard and touch screen work there without issues. I really hope I can get this thing working again, as I haven't backed up files to a cloud. Please help ASAP as I need my PC running!

USB, even USB3 was never meant for transferring large amount of data needed for HD video, too much conversion has to be made. Laptops are limited by number and type of outputs but desktops can accommodate multiple video cards and even basic cards with Display port that use power of existing GPUs to provide video signal to more monitors or TVs.

Dim piesky As Double

On Error GoTo Cancelled - On Error resume next
piesky = InputBox("amount to find", , 196.96)
onerror goto 0
If IsError(piesky) Then Exit Sub Else MsgBox 77
If IsNumeric(piesky) Then v = 1 Else Exit Sub
If piesky = "false" Then Exit Sub
If piesky = "" Then Exit Sub
If piesky = 0 Then Exit Sub

piesky is used to find row number

In blue is the code I tried. Nothing seems to work and if cancelled or blank entry gives an error

Why am I diming the input as Double? Cause nothing else works to find a $196.96 amount in a column
with my program except the double. Column is formatted to accountancy.

A:input box error when using double as input

Okay guys, found a solution, the best I could with my limited knowledge.

dim wonky as double
userinput=inputbox (" xxxxxxx")
if userinput="" then exit sub

this then finds sums in a col like 99.99 which if the input is normal or currency or whatever
does not work in my program. Perhaps there is another dim function that can be used
that does not require all the above

My X1 Yoga touch screen stopped working after BIOS(V1.40), Touch firmware(V4.20) update. My Win 10 is still at ver 1803.I downgraded BIOS. But that doesn't help. Can't find a way to downgrade touch [email protected], any solution? Obviously, I am not the only victim. It is ridiculous that your recommended update will cause such trouble. In other thread, someone mentioned to replace screen. Really? The new update caused hardware damage?
