I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have Microsoft Picture it 7.0. Someone scanned a logo from a business card and send to me by e-mail. The size is too big. On Picture It, lower right hand corner, there is a way to reduce it. After reducing when I save it as a file, the size is the same as if I had not reduced it. Is there a way to "lock" in the change in size?
Or some other way you might know to reduce the size of a pic.
I tried sending it to myself a few times since XP lets you send it the same size or "make it smaller" but when I use the make it smaller option, it still arrives in my mailbox the same size.

First off let me start by telling you I can't crop this picture due to content...

It has a width of 2086 pixels (6.95 inches) and a height of 1451 pixels (4.835 inches)

I want to make this a size I can resize down to a 4x6 exactly.

Right now when I resize it down to 4 it shows a 5.751 width...

How many pixel width do I need to add to this picture (its a blank background).

Also along these lines is there an online calculator to help with determinig things like this? I know it involves math but I am horrid at it.

Thanks for the help.

All I did was I created a 4x6 and then I got the pixels and then subtracted what I had... boy was that easier...

I was wondering if there is a setting which automatically changes the size of a picture which is actually in the mail and not attached.

Many times I have a picture to put on Facebook as my "cover" picture, but find I can't drag to get the entire picture in, so I have to cancel. Is there any software out there that can keep my aspect ratio and make the size of the cover picture on face book so I can entire picture in and away from my profile picture? I wild I could make my profile picture smaller also, but I think facebook controls that. Thanks.

A:Resize picture or canvas for facebook cover pictures

You could use Irfanview to resize the image and change the canvas size.
The Cover photo is different than the Profile picture.
I use a cover photo of 960x320 pixels and a profile picture of 300x300 pixels.
I'd use Photoshop where it's really easy ... (cause I'm more familiar with it) ...
can you get me the pictures ???

Somehow I've lost the ability to right click on an image file and resize it. I used to be able to right click on a file, go to "send to", "mail recipient" and have a wizard pop up that would allow me to resize images for the email.. but no longer. I don't think I've installed anything lately that would compromise this feature, but who knows... I've tried downloading and installing the image resizer power toy from MS, but it doesn't seem to register and I don't get any options that allow me to resize images if I right click on them...

Good; that means you have a backup. Especially important when doing any partitioning work.

Can it be done and how?Click to expand...

Delete the 334 GB partition. Then resize the 116 GB partition to include the (newly) unallocated space. If the unallocated space is immediately to the right of the 116 GB partition even Disk Management should be able to do the task. Else use a partitioning tool; I use the free EASEUS Partition Master.

I wasn't too sure where to stick this, so I figured Vista was ok. I'm running Vista Home Premium SP1 x86. I'm after the ability to resize my C: partition (NTFS) without loosing any data. Now I know that Vista's disk management allows the shrinking and expanding of partitions, however as I have a small chunk of unmovable system files in the middle of my free space, I can only shrink around 4GB (when I'm after about 10). I want to add an OS, but can't afford to loose all my data currently on the partition (along with Vista).

Basically my quest here is to find either a defragmentation tool for Vista that can relocate these system files out of the way, or a tool that can safely resize the partition without loosing the current data.

I've been hunting all evening, and have tried 2 offline degrags; both of which failed (1 due to vista incompatibility, and the other claimed to have other driver incompatibilities). I have also looked at Acronics Disk Director, however the trial version doesn't allow me to "resize" my partition; and I am also not sure if this will retain my current data.

So if anyone knows of:
- A defrag that can move the system files out the way.
- A partition program that can resize anyway without data loss.
- Or whether it'd be safe to purchase Acronics and use that.

That's a bit long-winded, but hopefully everything's there. Thank you in advance,

I'm finding (and have been since Windows 7 was launched) that the columns in detail view are VERY often not set wide enough for the contents of the folder. It's not just the name, it's even the date or size too.
So I might have a file that's 145GB and instead of seeing 145,321,678 KB I see 145,321,6...
and I get the same for file type and for file name and for date modified.
It's completely understandable if there's not enough room. After all, what else should it do?
But if I've got my folder contents area set at for example 1200 pixels wide, and I need 500 to accommodate the longest filename, 150 for date modified, 150 for file size, and 200 for type that's a total of 500+150+150+200 = 1000. Easily enough,
and with 200 pixels to spare.
What I would expect in that situation is that Explorer would be clever enough to figure out "hey, I can maximize each of the columns to accommodate the widest values in the folder". But instead it decides to not do that. It'll size the columns
slightly too small if we're lucky and far too small if we're unlucky, and it'll leave (in that example above) 300 or 400 pixels unused at the right side.

I just installed Vista home premium in a dual boot con figuration with XP home (which has been on my system a while). I used the vista installer to add another partition by shrinking my XP partition. It shrunk it by almost half. I now have an approx 500GB partition that XP is on, and an approx 400GB partition that vista is on. I have now uninstalled a bunch of programs from the XP partition and want to shrink it again. What I want to do now is shrink the XP partition to around 80GB, and make a new 20GB partition for Ubuntu, and give the rest to the Vista partition. I think I should be able to do this with vistas built in partitioner, but when I try to "shrink" a partition it says it can shrink by 0MB. It does this for the XP and the Vista partition, but it is able to shrink another 1TB hard drive in my system. Oh, I forgot to say that the hard drive that vista and XP are installed on is actually two 500GB drives in RAID 0. How can I get vista to shrink the partition? A:Solved: Outlook Notes Resize Problem

When you have any window already at the full screen size, then trying to resize via the bottom right corner will not work.
You have to get it off of "full screen size."

In most windows that is done by just clicking the middle button (in the top right 3 buttons) . That would get you back to a re-sizable window, ...
HOWEVER! (there is always an exception, isn't there... ) the Notes window does not have a top right 3 buttons. There is only a [X] (close) button.
To get the Note window back to a re-sizable window just double-click the header bar.

I’ve found that many bulk image resizers noticeably reduce the quality of the image. But I know that this doesn’t have to happen when you resize an image because when I use Roxio to resize individual images, the result (as far as I can tell) looks just as good as the original. Roxio also has a batch image resizer. I would like to know if the Roxio batch resizer works the same way as with Roxio individual resizing. I could conduct an experiment fairly easily, but I thought someone here might know conclusively – and just in case the Roxio batch resizer is inferior, I would like to know if anyone can recommend a batch image resizer that doesn’t reduce the quality of the image, or reduces the quality so little that the difference is unnoticeable or difficult to discern.

Someone here said that the Lanczos Filter (Irfanview) is superior to normal resizing. Is there a process better than the Lanczos Filter? If Lanczos filtering is the best way of resizing (smaller) then I suppose I should just use Irfanview.

A:Microsoft Office Word 2007 picture paste Bug *same picture is repeated

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
I would not advise pasting images in doc files like that,
I would use ms Paint to paste or save picture as
I would really recommend using the windows snipping tool to get the images that way no bugs are being transferred to the machine or programs,
Then use the Insert image option in word...
It's just a safer way to do an operation,

Hi all,

Super bizarre.

So I woke up this mornind to login into my PC and see that my profile pic is changed back to the previous one. I have not any changes myself.

skype is linked to microsoft account. (skype had my old picture)

other option is that someone logged into my outlook and chaged profile picture then it got synced...

I cannot find any information on why or how picture would revert. ( even more so on a specific date )

any ideas or leads ?

Hello newbiew, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Since you Microsoft account is synced by default, then it most likely automatically changed back after syncing.

If you wanted to have the same user account picture for all devices, then changing it for everything should help.

If you only wanted to change it on this PC, then you could turn off syncing for Appearance under "Personalization settings" using the tutorial below.

My desktop (windows xp) has a handy little feature that I downloaded from WIndows that allows me to simply right click an image and resize it. Usually I make it smaller. Makes it so easy for sending gobs of pictures to my friends in emails.

I can't seem to find a simple way to do this in Vista, nor a place to download the tool. Any other simple options?

I have an HDMI cord running from my laptop to my desktop computer. I have the laptop outputting audio through the HDMI cord perfectly fine. However, my desktop will not relay the audio through the built-in speakers unless I have the HP Picture in Picture software open on the selected HDMI Input. I was wondering if there was a way I am able to bypass using the HP Picture in Picture software. The HDMI Inputs do not show up in the 'Sound' window through the Control Panel in either the Playback or Recording tabs. Thank you!- Bubbyfong
