I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I've had a happy first year with this machine. A few days ago it all went south.  No USB mouse (is a Lenovo Wireless USB dongle thing). No Touch on the display. The Lenovo Monitor that I use it with is a touch display and the touch on that is also stopped. In device manager I see this: I've tried all the usual stuff like deleting all the bad marked devices in the device manager and restarting and nothing works. I've ran all the latest Lenovo driver updates and that makes no difference. I've tried a hard wired mouse, but that comes up in device manager as bad. They all show: The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)There are no compatible drivers for this device. HELP!Without Ext MonitorWith Ext Monitor

Hi Senyo,

Welcome to Lenovo Community! And happy to have you here.

As I understand that you are facing issue with your display in T450s.
Looks like you have a bad LCD panel & it needs to be changed so better contact Lenovo & replace under warranty.
Also you can try moving the LCD lid at certain angle whether display is coming or not.

I hope the above information helps.
Please feel free to post in Lenovo Community Forums if you have any further queries!

Hi everyone, I bought a Lenovo ThinkPad P50 Signature Edition with a 4K matte display. Over time, I noticed that my display got laggier and laggier at full 4K resolution. If I lower my display resolution to 1920x1080, my display is fairly smooth. I'm not sure why my display isn't smooth at full resolution. I also noticed yesterday that my volume hotkey buttons above the full keypad don't work properly. My volume hot keys above my keyboard work fine, however. Is there any way to alleviate or fix these two issues?

Hello- This is the first time I've needed to post here - I wouldn't say I'm an advanced user, but I have a pretty good idea what I'm doing. So please bear with me. My specific problem is that, seemingly following one of the attached (screenshot) windows updates, I can no longer use the Fn+F keys properly. Some of them do work (I can adjust brightness, hibernate), but I cannot for instance open WiFi controls (Access Connections) with Fn+F5, Communications Utility with Fn+F6, or connect to a projector with Fn+F7. Also, the accompanying screen overlay isn't right. The manual volume adjust button doesn't show the volume change on screen (same for mute button); neither does Fn+F8/F9 for brightness; ditto for CAPS-LOCK key, so I don't know whether caps lock is on or not! But these buttons/key-combinations do at least work. I have spent a long time trying to fix this following for example treads like below: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-11e-Windows-E-and-Edge/E530-special-keys-FN-F4-FN-F5-etc-are-n... https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-T400-T500-and-newer-T/T530-Fn-keys-and-quot-On-Screen-Display-... Updating HotKeys feature integration manually did not help. However, when I did this via a full scan with Lenovo Solutions Centre it did something (e.g. screen overlay came back briefly for brightness controls Fn+F8/F9, but has since gone again after re-starting). But still nothing for opening WiFi controls, Communication Utility, caps lock,... Read more

Got new X1 Yoga 2nd Gen OLED, having problems with the display settings.  The screen colors are incredibly rich and the colors are borderline neon and strain the eyes after more than 15 minutes of use.  I finally found a way to reduce the neon glow by going to the Intel Graphic Settings and adjusting the color gamut option slider from vibrant to one step down toward natural colors.  The problem, is that after a the computer is put to sleep or restarted, it goes back to the neon colors.  Is there a way to get these settings to stay without having to change it every time I open up the computer?  The display is amazing for viewing movies with super vibrant sharp colors, but when it's in vibrant factory settings its very bad.  The colors on webpages and onscreen keep increasing and decreasing in brightness randomly.

Hi, I 'm having problem with my new laptop screen display. (Thinkpad X1 Yoga 2nd  signature edition)I have noticed that there is like 2 different color areas. It's really visible when i'm displaying a white page. There is an 'external frame', 2cm  width from the screen edge, all around. In the external rectangular form, the white color seems yellow.  At contrary the center one has perfect white. As you can see here : Note: The problem is permanent. It also appears in the bios and in the display checking control. My laptop costed me almost $3k, I'm really disappointed. Is anyone experiencing the same problem ?

Now, (may be after some automatic updates) my screen is completely off - I get a full black screen. I am able to access my laptop screen by connecting an external monitor and duplicating my screen. I have tried to reset the computer using recovery options but even that doesn't work. Dear community,

maybe you can help. I just made aquisition of a thinkpad yoga S1 (DXdiag here attached) DxDiag TP-Yoga S1.txt

I am very happy with it, except when I want to use an external display with the mini-HDMI-VGA dongle delivered by Lenovo:

The extended desktop on this external display is quite bad quality. This is happening on different external monitors which are very good when attached to my other computer.

What problem can it be? Graphic card? Dongle? driver?

Thank you in advance for any advice.

Elwood

A:Bad display quality on externel screen / Thinkpad Yoga S1

I'd say the dongle is where you want to start. Have Lenovo send you a new one. You've already demonstrated that it's not the monitor, so that leaves items supplied by Lenovo and you'll have a significantly easier time getting them to agree to send you a dongle that probably costs them very little to produce compared to anything else. Plus it's easier for you to test and the most likely scenario to fix your issue. If there were something wrong with the GPU on the unit, you'd expect it to affect the internal display as well as external and do so equally/uniformly. The driver idea is possible, but highly unlikely, but if there's an updated driver and you want to install it while waiting for a new dongle to show up, knock yourself out.

I recently upgraded my W700 to a clean Win7 Pro x64 install, downloaded the latest Win7 drivers from the Lenovo website, and did a manual install of all of them. Mostly there were no problems, however the OSD for mute, volume up/down, and brightness did not work. Here is the page for the Hotkey Features Integration package, which contains the OSD program: Hotkey Features Integration for Windows 8 (32-bit, 64-bit), 7 (32-bit, 64-bit), Vista (32-bit, 64-bi... The problem appears to be a bug in latest version of the OSD program, for the W700. I collected data on the various versions of the OSD utility; see below (I have used the overall package version as a reference, although the OSD program itself has a different version). Here is the fix: 1) Install the latest Hotkey Features Integration package. This gets the latest other packages, plus a broken version of OSD.2) Manually uninstall the OSD program (in Control Panel:Uninstall); reboot.3) Download and install the Hotkey Features Integration package version 3.85.0000. This is last version which works fully with the W700. Run the package installer, the run the installer itself. Make sure that only the OSD component is selected; run setup; reboot. That should fix it. It appears that the bug also exists in Win XP. Here is the info I have on the various versions: 3.33.0002 - OSD Works with W7003.81.0100 - OSD Works with W7003.84.2000 - OSD Works with W7003.85.0000 - OSD Works with W700 <&l... I am installing updates on a T400 system running WIndows 7 Pro 64-bit. The system has been freshly factory restored and all features work properly... After running System Restore to update to the latest drivers and recommended software, I find Thinkpad Hotkey Features Integration 3.89.0000 breaks features. I am able to use Hotkeys to change brightness up/down, Fn+F5, Fn+F6, etc. The volume up and down keys work to change volume. The mute button does not work at all! The version information table at the bottom of the software download page is inconsistent compared to what is actually reported from the 3.88.0000 setup.exe: Setup shows:On Screen Display 6.71.00Full Screen Magnifier 2.40 The table shows:On Screen Display 6.72.00Full Screen Magnifier 2.41 The System Interface Driver is 1.05 on all the recent versions. With the 3.89.0000 version installed, I cannot uninstall and go back to the older version to get it working. I have three T410 laptops. Two of them have intel graphics and one has an nvidia graphics chip. I have the exact same problem as RChesley with the two that have the Intel graphics. The latest Hotkey Features Integration driver 3.89 from system update has disabled my on screen display. Removing it with windows system restore brought it back. Uninstalling it and installing an earlier version would not work. My T410 with the Nividia graphics chip does not have this problem. It has the 3.89 Hotkey Driver installed and the on screen display works fine. My two T410s with the Intel graphics do have the latest Intel graphics drivers offered by Lenovo System Update. Lenovo System Update indicates that the 3.89 driver is required in order to install the latest power manager driver which enables the CPU turbo boost. I would like to have turbo boost working. I just figured out how to correct the corruption of the Lenovo Toolbox from an incorrect driver that was pushed by Lenovo System Update, now I have this to deal with. I would appreciate it if Lenovo would look into this and report back on this thread.

I've just updated my X1 Carbon 3rd Generation to Windows 10. and there are three problems. I'm posting them in one message because they may be related. The Intel Chpset Driver from the support website will not install. It geest as far as the Intel branded installer then says it can't find "setupchipsetx64.msi", even if you browser to the file location.Intel Management Engine 12 appears to install without error messages but every time I run System Update it says it needs to be installed, so either it hasn't installed or it has but System Update doesn't recognise it.The cellular connection option has disappeared from Windows 10 and the Lenovo Wireless Power Settings app. My Sierra Wireless EM7345 appears without error in Device Manager under Network Adapters, it also appears as a GNSS Sensor undeer Sensors, but Windows cannot start this device because its configuration information is missing or damaged in the registry (error 19). It appears in Network Adaptors with a strong signal and is enabled but there's just no way of using it.I have of course installed ALL the updates from th support website apart from the two I've noted which won't install and the two enterprise updates which I don't need.. Windows Update also says the system is up to date. Very disapointing because the 4G adaptor was an expensive option to add to this laptop.

Hello
I have recently purchased a lenovo thinkpad x230 tablet from ebay. The seller specified that the laptop supports both touch and pen input. But only the pen works, the touch screen doesn't work.
After searching online quit a bit, I discovered that some models of x230t are only pen input (no touch).
But I don't know if that is the case with my laptop or is it some hardware or software problem, and I wasn't able to find any online documentation about the models that support touch.
My model number is: 3438-2S1, and my serial number is: XX-XXXXX.
Also attached is a photo of my laptop screen, if it helps in anyway.
Can anyone please help me?

Hi, My issue is that my Thinkpad x230t screen is somethimes just freez. More accuratly maybe will be to say as it seems like someone put a gray or sometimes black box on the screen. Sometimes you can see few lines on pixel from the screen and if i press the winkey over and over i can see something happen, and sometimes everything is just grey or black.  Basiclly i have a docking station so i can say the following:1a) when this happens and i connect it to external monitor - everything works fine. So i guess its not the GPU.1b) Also i guess it is not a program issue.2) Lenovo test program doesnt detect any issue.3)The issue seems to randomaly appear. Also the time the screen freezing is randomanly. It can be 5 sec or 5 min.  Anyone had something similar?I thought maybe this is the cable, but than i would expect that if i move the screen i will see a response.Thanks.

Hi all,I'm not sure if I posted in the correct forum and I'm new to this so bear with me.  So I bought this laptop around 5 months ago and only about 1 month ago the left side of the touch screen is not working. It would register that something is touching the bottom left side because I have my visual feedback turned on and after a half a minute of that, you can see it go haywire and register nearly the entire 1/3 left side. After 30 seconds of it going haywire, it would stop. And then either the entire left side or just the bottom left side would completely not register any touches at all. This wouldn't happen all the time, just every other day and definitely enough to be extremely annoying.  I bought my laptop in to get fixed for a completely unrelated problem because it's still under warranty and I told them about this issue but it doesn't seem like they fixed it and I'm thinking it's because it just didn't happen to happen to them when they had it. Also, I'm not sure if it's a software issue (since I don't think that's covered by warranty) or hardware. I have Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit OS, pen and touch support with 10 points.  Is there anyway that you guys can help me on this? It would be much appreciated.

I just received my brand new ThinkPad L380 Yoga yesterday and went through all of the regular set up steps.  The touch screen worked when I first opened it, but then after Windows 10 finished installing, the touch screen and pen no longer worked.  I have done all of the troubleshooting I've found listed in the forums and on the website aside from sending it back, but it still doesn't respond to touch.  The change happened right after Windows 10 was finished updating.  Is there something I'm missing?  Do I need to get an external mouse to try to disable the touchpad?  I'd really like to avoid sending it back if possible.  I know it has to be something I did and I just don't realize it.

This began about six months ago. I picked up my laptop and it was unresponsive and the red logo lights was blinking. I forced shutdown with the power button and restarted it. When it was back on I could get power but no data transfer from any usb ports, the touch screen didn't work, and if i let it sleep it automatically went unresponsive with the same error light. I checked for viruses. None. I updated all possible drivers. Nothing. I even restored my computer to factory settings and reinstalled windows. Nada. I use it heavily for school, so I haven't had time to send it in for warranty. One day, I turned it on and everything worked again. Wonderful. A couple days later I opened it and it was back to its previous state. PLEASE HELP
