Preferred Solution: Lenovo n22 Windows is not booting

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Try and boot with charger plugged in. If this works try installing the latest updates you may have restart and install more than once so be patient. If this doesn't work check with your device maker.

Hello sagarap and welcome to the forum! How did you create the pendrive, from an ISO and where from? Any errors during installation? What OS was on it before? After install did you make sure the BIOS was set to boot from the hard drive?

Some more info would help.

Hey guys, i've seen some similar questions asked about this, but the solutions to those problems haven't been able to help me so wanted to ask you guys if i missed something or you can help. Maybe i've overlooked something, but i wanted to write this post, before going to bed in hope i could try the suggested possible solutions. -By the way, i am new to this forum thing so if i am doing it wrong, please feel free to correct me or give me advice on that as well.I got a used Lenovo G500, with windows 8.1 (64-bit) from a friend, so i used the feature in windows to wipe it from all files and reset it. But after it had run for about 10-11 hours the screen had just been black for about 6 hours, so i decided to turn it off, although it was still running, to see if that would help. Now when it boots, it just gets stuck at thLenovovo logo right when i boot it, without no signs of loading or anything, when i leave it there for some time, nothing happens. The NOVO button is not working, and i can't access the BIOS menu or Booting menu with any keyboard shortcuts. Unplugging it and removing the battery and holding the power button, then rebooting, also does nothing. I don't think anything is wrong with the hardware since it was running perfectly before i wiped it, but now it just gets stuck at the lenovo logo right when i boot it.Is it because windows did not get installed correctly, or some drivers were corrupted, or something with the BIOS (which i am not really sure what is, i do... My Lenovo Laptop recently has stopped working. It turns on and everything, it just cannot boot up.The loading screen pops up and everything, but it won't go to the login screen. When I power the laptop on, it goes on the loading screen, and stays like that for a good 5-8 minutes, then gets an error message that says"Process1_Initialization_Failed"Then it tries to go into System Recovery, but after "Loading Files" it goes into the loading screen, then transitions into a black screen. There are no options, just a black screen.I wait for an hour, and absolutely nothing happens.I made sure nothing else is plugged in except for the Charger. The laptop is a Lenovo Y51.If you need anymore information, please ask. So, I have a Lenovo Thinkpad Z61T 9660CTO which I bought in 2007. It has served me well. Yesterday, it was working perfectly, albeit with some exxtra high heating at the bottom, close to 60-70 degrees Celcius. Then , I wanted to put in a new SSD into it. So, I took out the old HDD and then connected it, and the other SSD via USB casing to another computer running a disk cloning software. Tried it did not work. Now, I put back the old HDD into the Thinkpad, it does not start up again at all. Even the first screen which says "Thinkpad" press Blue button for recovery" does not come up now. Hard drive is not it, since the screen does not switch on at ALL. If it was HDD failure, it would say something like HDD not detected. But in this case, it does not even show the initial Thinkpad screen. So, this may be a loose connection somewhere (even though I did not remove the casing at all while removing the HDD) Both times, I removed and reattached the HDD, with the power cable removed from the Thinkpad, but, the battery was still inside the chassis. Short circuit? Bad! Someone help.

In case its not clear, when I press the power button, I do not arrive at the press Del to enter BIOS screen at all. No THINKPAD screen. Just black screen and no HDD activity

Hello,I recently bought (used) a Lenovo H520 that will not boot. When I press the power button, the fans spin up and the power button stays solid on. The disk read/write light quickly flashes about every three seconds. Absolutely nothing happens on screen so I cannot access the BIOS. I got it cheap due to a bad hard drive and used an old Windows 7 drive instead. I upgraded it to Windows 10 (x64, wiping the 32-bit 7) and it worked fine. I do not know what changed between then and now but now it will not boot. I have already attempted booting without the hard drive to the same effect.Thank you.

Hidy ho all,

I have a Lenovo G505s I bought in august. Up to this point, its been a great machine. This morning (11/20/2014) I installed some updates from windows update. around 4:30 PM today, I rebooted the machine, because I had an hour break in between classes. During that reboot it tried to install those updates, and it said it failed. After the failure it said it was reverting back to the prior state before the updates were installed.

It then rebooted again. It got to the Lenovo splash screen, and some little white text on the bottom of the screen has said for the past half hour "Updating your system (5%)" with the windows 8 little circle thing spinning around just above it.

I did try restarting it by holding down the power button, but it came right back to this screen.

Google has turned up nothing yet. Has anyone else had this issue? If so, have they (you) been able to fix it?

A:Lenovo G505s not booting

I think the quickest way around this issue is to let the OS try to install the updates it might take a while to do so(which is a pain) but I would wait because you don't want to mess up your system you might loose more than the time you will wait

My Lenovo B590 was working fine yesterday, today suddenly I can't make it boot up. I have recorded a video that demonstrates the behaviour of the Laptop on Power On:https://youtu.be/T9IcxsIgRcE It remains in an endless loop of powering up for a sec, making some click-sound and turning off immediately. Longpress power button ends the loop. AC cable is connected, battery is inserted. Things I tried that didn't solve the issue:Power On only with AC cable (normally and with 20 sec long Power press)Power On only with battery (normally and with 20 sec long Power press)Removing both RAM and trying it with one each in each of both RAM slotsProbably an issue with the motherboard? Anything else I could try?

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

Sorry to hear of the problem you are experiencing.  I would try removing the optical drive and then try powering the laptop up.  If that doesn't work then remove the hard drive and power up.  Since the click sounds mechanical in nature, that would lead me to suspect either one of those devices.  If the laptop powers up with a drive removed then suspect that drive as being faulty.

Your model's User Guide will explain how to remove those drives.  Here is a link to that manual for your reference.....

I am having issues with booting my laptop. The other day I tried turned on my laptop and it came up with a message which disappeared before I could check what it said. It then put me in a loop with restarting my laptop with options and now it isn't booting at all. Each time I try and power on the machine the screen goes black and the lights on the front to show power and charge light up. Then after about 20 or so seconds, it shuts down. I also tried pressing the OneKey Recovery button on the left side of the device however this did the same as the power button. I stripped down the laptop to check the CMOS battery to see if that was the issue but the battery was healthy and showing 3.19 volts. What else could this issue be?  Thanks, James W.

Hi guys,I fresh reinstalled windows yesterday and allowed it to collect updates overnight, including drivers. This morning I wake up and powering on the machine, I am greeted with a recovery screen. Selecting exit and continue brings me back to the recovery screen.I tried refreshing it from that screen, though it asks for recovery media, of which there appears to be none, even when I have a properly configured and bootable recovery media USB key inserted. As a recovery bootable device I use a lexar 8 gb USB drive. The machine has no optical drive. The only thing I can gather is that USB and or legacy boot mode are not enabeled. As I am totally blind, I have very little knowledge of the bios of this particular device, and any decent explanations are scarce.I know how to get to them (press f2 for bios and f12 for boot menu I believe) though anything else is beyond me.Could somebody tell me what to press at the keyboard to enable USB mode, and or legacy mode, if that particular option is needed? And by the way, for those curious about how I gathered information about the recovery screens, I use an app called seeing AI, which takes screenshots of anything you tell it to, and tries to tel you what it sees.Even with good lighting, the seeing AI app isn't of much use to help navigating the bios menu. Most problematic, I can't tell exactly what order the app sees the options, as compared to what order they are actually in.I would be most greatful if anyone could help, as this is the only ... A:Booting for the first time in my Lenovo G500

Hi Stathesp,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that your G500 Laptop is booting to Black screen, I suggest you to change the Boot priority of CD/DVD drive 1st and HDD (Hard Disc Drive) to 2nd, below are the steps to access BIOS:

Turn OFF the computer and then click on NOVO button which is located at the left side of the computer.
Then under Boot tab change the CD/DVD as 1st boot and HDD to 2nd device.
Now press ?F10? Key to save the changes, the computer will automatically restart.
Then check inserting the Disc and check the issue.

Do post us back if the issue still persists.

Best Regards

I adjusted the partitions of my lenovo g480 and accidentally deleted the hidden partitions. I restarted and the laptop just boots up with a blank screen. I tried pressing the novo button and the selection menu shows up. Whatever I select on the popup (normal startup, bios setup, boot menu, system recovery), nothing happens; and all I'm left is a blank screen. I tried connecting the laptop into an external display and still nothing shows up in the external display. I tried removing the battery and the 30s power button pressing, and it didn't work. Need this laptop for work. Hard disk when used in another computer the files are still there.

A:Lenovo laptop not booting up (G480)

hi RZPogi,

After removing the AC adapter, battery, and HDD, can you try to hold the power button for 20secs to remove residual power again on the machine. When finished, plug the AC adapter only then power up the machine and try accessing the BIOS via the F2 key or Novo button..

If successful, hit F9 to load defaults and hit F10 to save and exit. On another machine, connect the HDD and  backup your files then format it. When finished, put back the HDD on the G480 and boot from a Win7 installer via the F12 key to reinstall Windows 7.

Guide:
How to Create a Bootable Windows 7 Installation USB Flash Drive
How to Create a Windows 7 Universal Installation Disc

Note:
if the G480 came preloaded with Win7 Home Premium 64bit, reinstalling this same OS will automatically find the product key that's embedded in the motherboard and will activate your copy of Windows.

If the above steps doesn't help then there's likely a problem with the BIOS and needs to be reflashed. I would recommend you check these authorized service centers and report the issue:

We use a variety of model of laptop and workstation and build them using Microsoft ConfigMgr (SCCM), using PXE boot to get into Windows PE, where SCCM then applies the image and software. We are finding the Lenovo units take a long time (between 7 and 15 minutes) to proceed from when we start the PXE boot and when the unit loads into Windows PE.  It sits there saying "Loading files..." and thats where it sits for that time. Lower spec'd models, such as DELL 7xxx series, proceed much quicker.  We are using Secure Boot, with UEFI when we PXE boot.  We use same settings on DELLs when we PXE boot. If anyone is also experiencing this issue, we would love to know a fix, as it is adding build time to what is otherwise a fantastic unit.

Typing this on mobile device so have to be succinct.  Upon pressing power button: No backlight on monitor appears (monitor remains black) Fan remains running at normal speed Little lights indicating battery/power status of unit work normally removing/alternating ram has no effect on occasion when the laptop works, the slightest nudge will crash/power off system i know it sounds bad (motherboard damage maybe?) but any thoughts would be appreciated

A:Lenovo G500 fan running, no booting

The nudge & crash symptom is concerning.       Did the laptop get dropped or have anything happen to it that might lead you to believe the motherboard would be damaged, or result i the screen failing?     Do you have the ability to try connecting and external monitor to see if the system is actually booting?Does the position of the screen have any effect?    (I ask because there is a cable between the screen and base that can become damaged overtime, and perhaps could be shorting. Best of luck, Lenovo G400/G500/G405/ G505/G410/G510 Hardware Maintenance Manualhttps://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/lenovo_g400g500g405g505g410g510_hmm.pdf

I have searched all forums including this one and have been unable to find a resolution to my issue.I have had my laptop (Thinkpad T460s) for just over a year now and use it for work daily. I was using it with no issue at lunch, but when I opened the lid around 3 hours later - the screen was black and the laptop seemed to be stuck in sleep mode. I tried a hard reset and now I can not even get the Lenovo post menu to show.If I press the power button, the keyboard momentarily turns on the backlighting and the power button stays illuminated, after about a minute the power button turns off. This entire time the laptop screen is completely black, I don't see the Lenovo post menu and therefore have no acces to the BIOS or OS.I have tried using the hardware reset button on the bottom of the laptop, removing the 2 discreet batteries, removing the CMOS battery, removing all batteries and resetting the RAM. None of this has gotten me any headway on resolving this issue. I am going to try contacting technical support but am hoping someone may help me find a quick and simple resolution to this issue.

Turns out there were quite a few updates including a bios one. So I clicked em all and began updating. Then I had to restart my pc so I clicked restart and update. Ever since the restart the PC will not boot anymore. Since the screen is broken (I've been using HDMI and a tv) I can't see what's going on either. I have tried running it without the battery but that doesn't change anything. Here is a video of the booting https://youtu.be/SCtI0HZXRcsThanks for your help

I turned my Lenovo laptop on Friday to see the usual splash Lenovo on start up and then nothing else happened it kept continually doing that and going no further. Just so you know my laptop has no warranty left as I got it last Christmas second hand. I have been looking at demonstration videos on you tube and what I have tried so far is. I plugged in an external usb keyboard and got into bios and checked it was detecting my hard drive and it was. The next step I did was disconnect internal power/ battery and did the hold of the power button for 30 seconds to 1 minute  with the power cord connected only. And it was still doing the same. I then got advised to remove the cmos battery turn on laptop and then back off and put the battery back in. This has also failed to work so now I am looking for help here as I don't know what to do next and am hoping someone here has a different suggestion for me to try and hopefully get my laptop back up and running. Thank you in advance for any help given.

A:Lenovo v570 shuts down while booting

Well since the hard drive is the only real wear item, that would surely be suspect.    Does the hard drive make any strange sounds?    If you can get into Window and open a command prompt, you can check the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive by typing the command below and pressing enter.     You can also run that command from Safe Mode (command prompt)   wmic diskdrive get status It will return a status of each drive of OK, Bad, Caution or Unknown.    If is returns anything other than OK, then your drive may be bad. You might also try removing and re-seating the RAM modules by following the steps outlined on page 45 of the user manual linked below. Lenovo V470/V570/ B470/B570/B570e User Guide V2.0https://download.lenovo.com/UserFiles/UserGuide/en/User's%20guides%20and%20manuals/B570e/Lenovo%20V4... Note:   If you cannot get Windows to boot at all, and you have not backed up your data, you may want to have it looked at by a computer shop right away, because they can remove the drive, attempt to backup your data, and replace the hard drive if needed.   If the drive is failing, the more you use (or try to repair the system) the greater the chance the drive will fail completely. Best of luck,

Yesterday I had this issue with my Lenovo R400 and I alredy solved but i want to post the solution on this forum for other people.  The ProblemMy laptop entered in hibernation mode and in the morning that i tried to turn it on it didnt. I pushed the power button i see the lights of 1 and A turned on and off twice, but didnt show the boot screen.. The screen was blank doing nothing. Solution 1Disconnect the power cable and battery and push the power button 11 times and in the 11th push the button for 30 seconds. Connect power and push power button. Then you can connect the battery. Solution 2 (The one that helped me)Removed the power cable, the battery and the internal battery of CMOS and let it disconnected all for 15 hours. I dont now the exact time that it have to be disconected but i read a post saying 15, maybe with few hours if enought.  Then you connect the cable and push F1 (until beeps)  and turn on the Laptop to enter in Supervisor Mode to set date and time F10 and exit. Connect the CMOS's battery and normal battery and is all. WARNINGIf you reset the CMOS and the laptop have a Supervisor Password enabled and you dont have it  you will be in big problems. Mine laptop didnt have it. I was luck because i didnt know it. Without the Supervisor password you cant set the date/time and the laptop wont boot again. You will need to change the MotherBoard. Or maybe you can find another solution but wont be easy. So be carefull about... Read more

I don't know which OS in on this unit, if it's 8 or 10 but when I power on the only screen I am seeing is the Boot Menu screen with 2 options showing exactly as below:

1; Windows Boot Manager
2. eMMC Card0: Sandisk iNAND 64gb

Any option I choose between those two then ENTER brings it back to that same screen, pressing ESC does the same thing. I tried F111 and F12 at power on to see if there is a recovery or reset option but only that boot screen shows up, help please?

I'm attempting to boot to a Win7 DVD, but in BIOS I'm unable to set the boot priority to any type of optical drive. The BIOS boot devices menu is the same. I know I can use the USB tool, but that also didn't work. Is there any Lenovo BIOS patch I can apply, or an alternate solution to be able to boot to the optical drive?

A:Booting up from the optical drive on a Lenovo H430

Hi, On the Lenovo H505s you have to change a few options in the BIOS to install Windows 7 which requires booting from the optical drive. It's probably the same in the H430 Restart the computer at the white Lenovo (BIOS) screen, hit F1 to enter the BIOSGo to Security tabGo to Secure BootDisable Secure BootReset to setup modehit Yes to "Do you really wish to reset platform to setup mode?" Change the boot options to look for USB devices if you are installing from a flash drive, or make the DVD drive the first boot device. (Select SATA dev 1 not the DVD drive or whatever it's called and hit the - key) Go to the EXIT tabDisable OS Optimized DefaultsSave and Exit. That's now I did it on the H505s, not to sure what impact that has on the OEM installation of Win 8, probably destroys it, so be aware you might not be able to go back after. -Cheers

Hi all I have recently bought a Lenovo M91p thinkcenter Desktop as an upgrade to my old i3 PC. Old Spec is as follows:Coolermaster Thunder 600W power supplyIntel DH55HC motherboardi3 CPURadeon HIS HD 7950 Graphics card8GB RAM500GB HDDI have transferred my old 500GB HD and Power supply to the new Lenovo desktop and everything booted fine. Then I installed 2x 2GB extra into the Lenovo M91p (Making it 8GB), and upgraded the 500GB HDD to a 1TB. So my new spec is as follows:Coolermaster Thunder 600W power supplyLenovo Q67 motherboardi7 2600 3.4 Ghz CPU8GB RAM1TB and 500GB HDDEverything Booted fine. Then I tried to install my old Graphics card (The Radeon HIS HD 7950 Graphics card). All i got was a blank screen, no beeps, no BIOS... Nothing. At first, i thought my power supply wasn't enough... So i tested a 750W power supply in the pc. Still nothing. Then I thought the motherboards BIOS was outdated... Updated it... Still nothing. I even tried updating the firmware of the graphics card. Nothing. The graphics card definitely works because I tested it in my old machine and it worked 100%.However, I took my graphics card to my supplier, and he tested it on another one of his PCs... Didn't work there either. My PC's BIOS doesn't have support for secure boot, in case anyone wants to know.I have run out of ideas now... Any one able to help?

A:Lenovo M91p Desktop not booting with new graphics ...

There's a white list of graphics cards the BIOS will recognize. The HD 7950 is a 180w card, well in excess of what the factory power supply can provide for (and the case/fans sufficient cooling for), and is not one that Lenovo would provide BIOS support for.

Use the search engine above to see what cards other owners have successfully used in their M91p.

First thing I did was download a Windows 10 boot file onto a USB. I go through Repair Your Computer and all that until I get to trouble shooting. When I go to command prompt, right after i type in "Bootrec /rebuildbcd" and I type A (for all), it tells me "The requested system device cannot be found."
I've tried looking up help but I can't find any answers that help me. :/ What am I doing wrong?

Good morning everybody,

I have bought my laptop 1 year ago and everything was going ok, i installed many programs (Adobe illustrator) and games (PES2011) and many others and i faced no problems.
One day, my cousin used the laptop to watch a new movie but he forgot to charge the battery during that time until the laptop shuts down alone due to empty battery.
On the next day, i tried to power on my laptop it starts normally until it reached the Windows 7 logo it automatically shuts down. I tried again for several times with the same result then a blue screen with white writings on it was displayed on the screen (harddisk failure).
I bought a new Toshiba 500GB HDD and burned a new Windows 7 Ultimate x64 DVD to install a fresh new copy of it but i have faced the following:
1- when I power on the laptop it works normally.
2- I press F12 to choose the device to boot from (Boot from DVD)
3- It starts normally and a windows 7 screen appears with a loading bar. It is filled quickly in the first time then a new screen appears with a loading bar starts to fill but after around 75% of the loading bar is filled the laptop shuts down.
I tried to restart it for several times with the same result.

I make the following points to try to restart the laptop but always with the same result:
1- Remove the new HDD and then insert it
2- Remove the Rams and then insert them
3- Remove the battery and then insert it.

- Are you replacing the original laptop hard drive with the new Toshiba or is the Toshiba an external USB hard drive?
- Are you trying to clean install Windows 7 Ultimate x64 to the original laptop hard drive or to the new Toshiba?
- Where did you get the ISO file for Windows 7 Ultimate?
