Yoga S240 loses browsing ability after disconnecting power adapter - Help

Q: Yoga S240 loses browsing ability after disconnecting power adapter - Help

After a reset of win10 my Yoga S240 loses browsing ability after disconnecting the power adapter (on WiFi\ethernet usb adapter - in different locations). Outlook can still send and receive but I can't browse (Chrome/Edge/Incognito), I can still ping the web sites in command prompt. To get the browsing working again i must connect back the power adapter and logout-login\restart. I tried:Updating all drivers (windows\thinkpad\ manually in device manager\ intel).Battery on max performance.Would appreciate any help on this.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hello! This has been happening for the past few weeks, and the only solution I've found so far is restarting the laptop. When I disconnect from my monitors and take my laptop with me to meetings (which is several times per day), I lose my physical mouse (on the laptop, not an additional mouse). The pad just doesn't respond. I am forced to use the touch screen to do everything. I want to use my mouse, and I used to be able to. My little red button mouse also doesn't work. I've already confirmed that I'm still in Desktop mode, not in Tablet mode. Using Windows 10 Pro

This happens every now and then. Sometimes right after boot up (with the Desktop displayed), and sometimes after I have been using the system for sometime. It seems I can move the cursor anywhere on the screen, but if I want to select/activate say, an icon, nothing happens! In such a case, even clicking on "Start" (to shut down) has no effect. My only recourse then is to turn the computer off and re-boot. I don't like doing that but, so far, that seems to "fix" the problem (until the next time). Any suggestions?

A:CURSOR LOSES "CLICK-ABILITY"

Uninstall the mouse driver from within Device Manager. Reboot the machine to let the mouse driver be reinstalled by Windows. This should get you back to default mouse configuration....We'll see.

Not too sure but I know Yahoo! uses Java. Perhaps updating that will help.

Its been like this for a while now. That is every time i leave my computer on for over a day it loses its ability to load webpages. A simple ping to google.com gives a timeout while any other computer on the network can still access any other website (including google.com). I suspected a failure of my computers DNS to convert DN's into IPs however a flushing and reactivating of the computers DNS cache still does not solve the issue. If i still have MSN or uTorrent running they seem to be able to connect to peers over the internet which is strangely odd, however signing in and refreshing trackers no longer work. I have tried accessing websites with the latest version of IE and FF while this problem persists.

All network settings are on automatic and i use Windows 7 SP1. If you would like any other information please post back and ill get back to you straight away! I have a phone that alerts me to new mail and i have suscribed to this thread.

Thanks in advanced for any help. And sorry if this isnt the right place to post this i wasnt sure where i should put something like this.

A:Computer loses ability to load web pages after a day of being on

Hello Renren, it should probably be in "Networking"... but let's see what we can do.

Have you looked at your network settings when this happens? Is there anything strange there? i.e. can you still "see" your other pc in your LAN? Do the lights (leds) on your network adapter still flash? Does your PC still have the same IP given through DHCP?
If any of these terms don't ring a bell, holler.

To start with I'd be interested in an upload of the "detail" window in your network settings, that shows your IP and gateway.

The Yoga 3 Pro power adapter looks like a normal USB brick, and the cord looks like USB, except with a kink in the connector at the Yoga 3 Pro end. Can I charge my phone or tablet with it?

A:What's with the Yoga 3 Pro power adapter - it's a ...

Yes the Yoga 3 Pro power adapter is a USB charger too!

How does it work?

The special "fool proof" charging cord has two extra pins on the AC adapter end and two extra pins on the Yoga 3 Pro end. The extra pins only make a connection when the fool proof cord is plugged in to the Lenovo charger and the Yoga 3 Pro. When a regular USB cord is plugged into either the charger or the Yoga 3 Pro, it makes a regular USB connection.

Can I charge the Yoga 3 Pro with any USB charger?

No. The Yoga 3 Pro requires 2A at 20V, which is what the provided 40W Lenovo AC adapter supplies.

Can I charge a USB device with the Yoga 3 Pro AC adapter?

Absolutely. In addition to 2A at 20, the Yoga 3 Pro AC adapter supplies 2A at 5.2V (10.4W), enough to charge a phone or tablet. Works for iPad.

Where can I buy spare AC adapters and cords?

AC adapters with cords are sold in the accessories section of the Lenovo store.

Where do I find the part numbers for the AC adapter and cord?

Look for AC Adapters In the PDF Yoga 3 Pro Hardware Maintenance Manual.

What are the USB specs of the Yoga 3 charging port?

It's a USB 2.0 port. It provides enough power to charge an iPhone, but not enough to charge an iPad. If you want to charge an iPad, try the USB 3.0 port on the right of the Yoga 3 Pro.

Hello everyone, I purchased Lenovo Yoga 900 Ideapad and I am currently using it in India. The power adapter seems to have gone bad and I wasn't able to charge the laptop with the given adapter.  Since the laptop is under warranty, I contacted the warranty help line only to know that I need to take the laptop to the service center. At a service center, no one really knew how the USB 3.0 charging port works and couldn't check whether the cable was short or the adapter had gone bad. Anyhow, they decided to replace it under warranty but again, they weren't sure when and if the replacement would arrive (as it depends on the inventory levels with Lenovo India).  An exclusive Lenovo shop then offered me an original Lenovo power adapter with USB 3.0 charging at USD 70 but only when it got delivered, I see that it is 40W and not 65W like the original one I had.  65W adapter - the USB 3.0 connecter (one which connects the laptop) is orange. The wall adapter doesn't heat up while laptop is charging.40W adapter - the USB 3.0 connecter is yellow. The wall adapter heats up quite a lot while the laptop is charging.  The Lenovo store representative has assured me that this is the right adapter but somehow I am not convinced.  Can the community throw some light on this:- Is it safe to use a 40W adapter for a 65W specification?- Is there any way I can get the adapter replaced by Lenovo US (I can ship the faulty adapter to US)?- I... Hello, I want to get a spare adapter for my Yoga 910 and I want to make sure I get one that will not damage my computer. Does anybody know where I can get a replacement power adapter for a Lenovo Yoga 2 11? According to the manual, it should be 45W. It appears that neither the original nor any approve substitutes that are listed on the Lenovo site are available for purchase from Lenovo.  I tried to buy one online but ended up giving my money to an overseas scammer. There seems to be a facsimile available in the States, but reviews say that it is a fire hazard and wrecks computers. I'd like to buy one that works and is safe. This is for my grandson's Lenovo Yoga 2, 11 inch. It was manufactured in 2016. He lost the power supply while it was under warranty only a few months after buying it but the family was moving so they thought it would turn up. It never did. Hi there,  I am a new user of a Yoga 530 and was wondering if there is a possibility to charge the device with a powerbank? I know that the USB-C ports are not capable of charging the laptop and that the laptop needs to be charged via the small round plug (sry I don't know the technical terms). The question is rather whether there is a power cable available that has a USB plug on the "non-laptop" side so I can then plug that into my powerbank (or a USB charging station)? Hopefully, the question is understandable. Thaks for any help!

A:Yoga 530 Power cable adapter available?

Short answer is no. The USB Type A ports on power banks, et al, deliver 5V at around 1 or 2A. Your 530's slim-tip charging port is looking for Around 20 volts (I don't have the exact voltage available, offhand, but it'll be listed on the charger that came with the computer). Creating a USB to slim-tip cable could damage both the computer and the power bank.

Here is an article featuring several power banks that might provide the necessary voltage and current. As I haven't tried any of them, I can't say for sure, but if you're very careful to match voltage, current and connector polarity, you should be able to find one that suits your needs.

I think there is a short in the power adapter. It gets red hot and only charges when not fully (about halfway) inserted into the wall outlet or power strip. I can hear sparking inside of the power brick when i insert it and a spark flies to or from the outlet to the adapter as the prongs near the receptacle. Not sure but I think this might be a short where the prongs fold into the adapter for travel. I don't transport it much so there isn't a lot of folding in and out in which I could blame the issue on over use. Anybody else have issues with the power adapter shorting? I have not had this computer very long, well since about christmas, what are my chances of Lenovo swapping this out for a new one? I am waiting for a call back after contacting tech support. There isn't and there won't be an adapter.  The USB-C power delivery process involves a negotiation between the computer (or other device) and the adapter. The same adapter can charge a 5V phone or a 20V laptop. (also 9V or 15V) If the adapter and computer cannot negotiate correctly, no charging will occur. My USB-C charger will charge my thinkpad or my cell phone, but not my other laptops.

Here's the usual process:
Basic check for a proxy (internet properties/connections/LAN settings)
Boot to Hitman Pro Kickstart (or Sidekick)
If we cannot boot to Hitman Pro Kickstart we are usually not in the best spot to move forward. This is where the process needs work. On several occasions the customer cannot press the 1. or 2. key booting ether from the Hitman Pro USB or CD/DVD (Sidekick).

At this point I am usually looking to run something like AVG ZeroAccess removal tool or Malwarebytes Chameleon. We cannot run Hitman Pro (not the boot version) becasue it requires an Internet connection.

I see many people are running a process that includes, AdwCleaner, Junkware Removal Tool, ComboFix, Malwarebytes... I also know that from running Rkill lately that it does some ZeroAccess detection and repairs some Windows Defender related issues....

I hate not having a solid process for this issue... I really need the help of anyone out there in the know.

Thanks,
Eric

FYI... We just added RogueKiller to the process to dig out the real Proxy crap... Nice tool. Does anyone know if AdwCleaner does just about everything that RogueKiller does? Specifically at the proxy and DNS levels?

I just received my new L380 Yoga laptop. I plugged in the power adaptor to the rear USB-C slot and it charges fine. Now I cannot remove it. I"ve pulled as hard as I think safe - and it seems to be stuck. Is there some trick to removing it? Or have others experienced this tightness?  Thanks for any info.

I have a Lenovo Yoga 72015IKB and it crashes without the power adapter. Itīs a new problem, it worked without adapter before and nothing happened to the Ideapad. The battery says its fully loaded (100%).But removing the adapter, the little orange light next to the power adapter slot blinks as if thereīs very low battery. Furthermore the Battery test with lenovo vantage says thereīs no problem with the battery. I canīt update the new BIOS either because it says it needs battery to do it (with power adapter of course but somehow it wonīt to the update).Does anybody have an idea what to do to fix the problem?  Thanks for your ideas!

Hello all users and Lenovo staff, looking at my type C which is used daily for power delivery, I'm thinking about how to reduce long-term damage and rendering the process more comfortable.Insipired by my wife's MacBook with MagSafe connector, I stumbled upon magnetic tip adapters, like that for example: https://goo.gl/U7bnNR Can I ask if anyone has a satisfactory experience of magnetic tip adpters for type-C ports on Lenovo laptops? Lenovo: is possible to use those devices? Is it safe? Which tech specs to look for? Thanks.

Hi, I bought a new Lenovo Yoga 920-13IKB in Czech Republic and the delivered package contained the following AC power adapter:  model: ADLX65YLC3A, P/N: SA10M13945I want to buy another one, but it is no-where available ! Can somebody warrant me, that the only-available AC adapter with USB-C, the Lenovo ThinkPad 65W AC USB-C, S/N 4X20M26272, will work fine with my laptop please ? Btw, I am wondering why, when I tried to find the original AC adapt., all web sites returned me result that it is not dedicated for my country. I bought the computer with that AC here, so **bleep** Lenovo ? Thank you all

Everyday it gets a little harder to get the my Yoga 3 to charge. The adapter plugs in fine but I don't get the plug symbol next to the batter icon without a lot of blowing and holding it just right. Once it's in and begins to charge there are no problems. I don't have to hold the cable a certain way or anything. I don't want to wait until I can't charge my notebook to take care of this. Is there any precedence for this problem? Do I need to get a new cable or is the problem the adapter in the notebook?

Help!  My Lenovo Yoga 3 14 is no longer accepting the charge from my power adapter. And, naturally, it could not have come at a more inconvenient time. When I unplug and plug it back in, it gives me the following message in the lower right-hand corner:"USB device not recognizedThe last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it." When I click for details, it gives me this:"The last usb device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. Try reconnecting the device. If Windows still does not recognize it, your device may not be working properly." Except this isn't just any USB device - it's the ever-loving power adapter for this thing! I've tried everything and I'm at my wit's end. Any help?

I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 Laptop with Vista. I currently am able to connect to the internet: via IM programs such as AOL and Skype, I can download Windows updates, and I can send/receive packets and ping the wireless router. However I cannot load a webpage through a browser. I have tried IE, Firefox, and Chrome, and all display error messages citing connection issues. Chrome displays "Error 103 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_ABORTED): Unknown Error. I have read other forums that state the problem may originate from a firewall blocking the browser from accessing the internet. Most cited as the culprit is Norton, however I have never had Norton on my computer. I had the free trial of McAfee that came with the computer, but it has long since been removed. Windows Firewall has also been disabled. I do have SpyBot, AdAware, AVG, and IObit installed, though they have been there for years and never given me any issues, so although possible, I have my doubts that this is the reason.

Any suggestions would be very helpful!!

Does the USB Type-C AC power adapter jack of the Lenovo Yoga 910 allow data transfer, like some USB hubs allow (for example, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y3YMZLZ/?tag=aboutcom02lifewire2-20)?

Hello,  this has been solved here, but the version of "defect" is indeed the opposite. (sorry my english)  As other users solved this problem with - it did not help using more powerful adapter with 90W 4.5A or upgrade BIOS. Power Saver off, no other power saver activated. Many times HW tests from Windows Troubleshooting and Lenovo Vantage - everything OK.  I attached here HWiNFO specification. - Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 460 (Windows 1709, all current drivers updated - no change with update 1803 - same situation)  The power adapter (and also i use many others - no change) will immediately reduce the processor frequency to a constant of 0.39GHz and using the bounce between 0 - 15% .Reinstall Windows, HW test and drivers etc. everything is OK.  Even no help from Settings - Windows - Options of Power - set min. usage processor 100% - no affects. The problem persists. ..omg... , whats that? Common opening of Explorer, Word, copying etc., and other elementary activities are now a matter of minutes - big loss of performance. Thank for your help
