Realtek Audio (Intel DG31PR built-in) problem after Vista re-install

Q: Realtek Audio (Intel DG31PR built-in) problem after Vista re-install

It was just fine. After re-installing Vista, I installed the the latest Realtek HD Audio drivers. The volume is way too low. Sound from most applications has noise and I've fiddled with all possible settings. I don't remember what drivers I was running before re-install. Is there some way to bring it back to how it was? Some misconfiguration?

Hey, don't people ever reply in this forum?

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

does intel motherboard DG31PR support usb HID(human intervention device)

if yes, can it recognise this device?
and also is there any significant diff b/w usb and usb HID

IOGEAR - GKM581R - 2.4GHz Wireless On-Lap Keyboard with Optical Trackball and Scroll Wheel

A:does intel motherboard DG31PR support usb HID

Sure, pretty much all computers support USB HID devices such as keyboards and mice. And its really more up to the operating system then the motherboard. Full support of any special keys on the keyboard or mouse may still require additional drivers from the manufacturer, such as IOGEAR, which come with the device if needed or are available to download.

P.S. HID stands for Human Interface Device, of which the most common are mice, keyboard, joysticks, game pads, remote controls, and the such.

A:graphics support for intel dg31pr

Hi raja basak,

Mentioned below is the system-board layout of 'Intel dg31pr':

It offers that following 'expansion capabilities':
- One PCI Express x16 bus add-in card connector
- One PCI Express x1 bus add-in card connector
- Two PCI Conventional bus connectors

Please share exact details about the 'Graphics Adapter' that you are exploring. Is it a 'GTX 500 series or 5 series' card? You may point at the 'desired GPU' on the following website: Graphics Cards: ZOTAC - It's time to play!
Also share the 'Power Supply' that you're planning to use; will need to verify if it is good enough to handle the 'GPU load'

Do reply with the findings; will take it forward from there.

I think my question is this: how do I set up VSX-1124 (a Pioneer AVR) in Control Panel/Sound and Hardware/Sound so that its driver is Realtek HD Audio and not the Intel Display Audio one?

In Device Manager under Sound, Video and game controllers, I have two sound card drivers, Realtek High Definition and Intel Display Audio. I don't understand how Realtek High Definition Audio drivers work in relation to the Intel Display Audio drivers. If I go to Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Sound then Playback, there are four options, as you can see from the picture below.

I'm guessing that if I choose the receiver as my default device that I'm using the Intel Display Audio drivers and any of the other three options that I'm using the Realtek drivers. Is this correct? If the receiver is the default device, everything works fine; I get sound from sites like cnn.com and I can listen to internet radio, etc. However, if Speakers are the default device, I don't get sound. Is this normal? If so, what's the reason for having Realtek? If it isn't normal, will I notice a difference if I use the Realtek drivers? If I would see/hear a difference, how do I get them to work?

A:Realtek High Definition Audio and Intel Display Audio

The RealTek is for the regular PC sound. The Intel Display Audio is for HDMI sound. If an HDMI cable is plugged in Windows will automatically default to the HDMI as the "default playback device". If you have an HDMI cable plugged in and want the PC sound you must manually change the playback device. If you want both HDMI and PC audio, you can't have that as Windows will only allow one default audio playback device.

Does this answer the question?

I've been attempting to use this setup to record audio, and keep running up against the same issue. How do I monitor microphone input (either from the inbuilt mic or the 'pink in' socket) through the speakers whilst recording? There doesn't seem to be any way to enable this function, the result being that I can only hear what I'm recording by playing it back afterwards.

On most other systems, you can normally monitor mic and/or line-in input by simply clicking on the system tray speaker icon to get the mixer, then turning up the relevant slider. The Realtek control panel has options for 3D sound, mic boost, default sample rates etc, but no mixer and no option to enable playthough for the mic.

I've tried a number of drivers, including the latest updates from both the Realtek and Acer sites, and also some older versions. While there are differences between these drivers, none of them seem to provide the option I need.

Having Googled this issue, it seems it is a common problem. A few places (like this one) give a workaround that involves changing a Registry setting. However, the settings given don't correspond with what I have on my machine. I've trie... Read more

Hello. I want to ask a question about my problem. I tried to search about my case, but it's seems I'm the only one in this world who has problem like that.

I have Asus P2W DH Deluxe motherboard with buit-in Realtek audio card (ALC882). My 5.1 audiosystem is connected via analog outputs.

A problem is:
When I start PC with Windows 7 Ultimate, first application that plays sound make huge noise to my audiosystem. In background of this noise I can hear quiet sound that must been played. After first noise played the other sounds plays properly. (For example - if you use sound themes - noise will play then your system is starting). Except only one application (only one that I recognize) that doesn't play noise - small mediaplayer AmpView.
This noise plays only with Realtek (I try to use my old SB Live - no noise at all, but SB Live supports only 4.0 audio). And this noise plays only when I use 5.1 mode in realtek (in 2.0 or 7.1 mode - no noise, but I don't want to use 2.0 and I don't have 7.1 audiosystem).
I tried to use different drivers - 2.37 and 2.40. Problem is still exist.
When I used this hardware with Win XP I doesn't have this problem.

Is there someone who has problem like mine? What way I can solve this?

Thank you in advance.

A:Audio noise when first sound is played built-in Realtek

I may have been experiencing a somewhat similar problem. For example, if I play some music and after that leave the computer idle for a couple of minutes, the next time I do anything to produce a sound: starting playback of another song, opening a folder, emptying the recycle bin-I can hear a short, cracking sound just before the sound corresponding to my action.
I am also experiencing a constant sound from the TV card stream in the background, but I can only hear it when I turn up my speakers pretty loud without producing any other sound...
I never managed to find out what's causing this.

Hey everyone. First time poster with a problem that has really got me stumped.
Had a look around on line & it seems to be quite a common issue but have been unable to find a fix that works for me :-(

I'm running Vista 32bit on a Toshiba Satellite A210 laptop and for the past few days my speakers have been emitting a strange static/white noise buzzing that is driving me insane. It sounds similar to the static received when tuning a radio & gets worse as I increase the volume, there is also often a weird high pitched squeal thrown in there too.
Now when I plug headphones in I still hear this static so obviously the speakers are not blown. It seems to get worse anytime a system sound plays or i try to listen to music, watch videos etc. I can still hear the music/system sounds etc behind the static but they often sound garbled, not ideal for watching movies etc!

I've uninstalled & reinstalled my Realtek HD Audio drivers numerous times, all with no result. I also heard mutterings that this may conflict with my graphics card? Worth uninstalling my ATI Radeon card you think? Although this has not been a problem in the prior 2 years that i've had this machine....

Worryingly, I reformatted & reset my laptop to factory settings to try & resolve this yet it made no difference at all which leads me to think it's some kind of hardware problem or bad connection inside the machine? Although i've not knocked or dropped the machine to c... Read more

OK, so I've tried three 955x boards now, all using the Realtek HD audio chips, and none of them have worked. I install the drivers, reboot, nothing happens. In Device Manager, it says unknown PCI device. The three boards were the Intel 955xbk, the Asus P5WD2 Premium, and now the ABIT AW8-MAX. Yeah, I'm getting real good at installing motherboards. The Abit board is the best, by the way. But why the heck won't the sound work? Using Windows XP SP2. I thought maybe it was the ATI PCI Express card that was messing it up, so I'm now using a GeForce MX 4000 PCI card. Still didn't fix it. Other than the video card, no other cards. Audio is enabled in the BIOS. I have just regular speakers, hooking to the computer with a line out plug and a mic in plug.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is just very strange. Also, I'm using two SATA devices, a hard drive and a DVD-RAM drive. The CPU is a Pentium D 830. 1g of 667 MHz Non-ECC DDR2 RAM, forget the manufacturer.

A:Realtek Audio on Intel DZ77GA-70K - no controls

Do you have the option to set the "Stereo Mix" as the default recording device? (Stereo Mix or may be called System Mixer, is needed if you want to record streaming audio from the internet). Then, what options show up. Each RealTek control panel is customized by the PC or Motherboard vendor. e.g. my RealTek came from my Motherboard Vendor (Gigabyte) and its fairly basic too, however they also included the Creative SoundBlaster MB software enhancement and it has an EQ and several other effects that can be used.

To check for the System Mixer, go to the Control Panel/Hardware and Sounds and finally the Sound Panel. Click on the Recording Tab. If the System Mixer is shown, enable it if needed, then set it as the default recording device. If its not show, RIGHT click in an empty space in that panel then click to Show "Disabled" and "Disconnected" devices. If the Stereo Mix now shows, make it the default recording device.

HI,
I have audacity for audio recording. I bought a headphone with mike. Intel mother board sound card which i have been using in windows xp, is not working in windows 7. When i Installed win7, it auto detected the HD audio drivers from Microsoft and updated to win 7. There is no problem in audio playback, but only in recording. I plugged in the pink jacket at the rear for mike, but the recording tab shows that in front jack. I do not have audio jacks in my front panel. How come this?
I went to Realtek and downloaded their specific drivers from this link and it install but windows alert compatibility of these drivers , by saying that it has no signature alert. If i install despite warning, it installs and somehow show. But, the microsoft sound icon still remains in the tray and it only has the sound meter control. If i click realtek nothing happens. How to solve this problem ?

A:Realtek audio drivers (intel motherboard) does not work for win 7,

Hi,
And why the mike jack is shown in front instead of its usual plugged in position at the rear of the computer

I have problem with the realtek audio drivers, which was supplied by the vendor intel. INtel totally stopped support for this product at their web site. The peculiar problem is when i downloaded the authors drivers for vista, Which they say support win 7 also, the windows shows compatibility alert and if i click on for the online solution, it goes to the same page from where i downloaded the drivers.
It is a curse to have the intel mother board to have the xp version driver and now they would not support. Hell to them. Now even Intel interactive utility, when clicked, show that i do not have intel desk top board alert.Funny is int it?. Moreover if i download their offline utility, they show, the mother board details as intel desktop.
So, really what is the solution that would work for me?
If i just installed and reboot, the win7 os auto detects and update the drivers for sound, invariably microsoft HD audio drivers. When i insert the mike in Pink jack at rear, it shows, in front.

When i plug the mike at the rear of the PC, the Microsoft recording device tab show it as if i plugged in front. I do not have any jack . how to change this to the rear position.
When i was using Realtek, there was no problem. How to disable in Microsoft HD recording devices tab.

Hi everyone

Ive just bought my new Asus K42f laptop, wich works all fine. But the microphone is terrible. Using recording software or skype test-calls the sound is all pitched and muffled, and even if I boost the mic sound and sets all the levels on high, I still only gets a vague voice recording, while the backgroundsound it somehowe amplified. Ive adjusted all the Noise suppresion and "echo" buttoms but that makes little different. Basically its useless as a mic for e.g. skyping...

If I use an plug-in mic it works perfect. Somehow it seems to be the in-built mic or the software.

Ive read many threads on realtek mic problems in here, but they all seems to be detached to older versions of either software or hardware. Now that might not mean a thing, but since Im no expert on cp I cant dechifer the various suggestions, and those I try do not work.

Ive spend and incredibly long time trying to fix this on my own, being very stubborn by nature, but now I must reach out for some help.

Can any of you tell me what to do?

Thanks!

If the mic is really that bad, then it would probably be the fault of the manufacturer. Either deal with it and update the newest drivers, or get a headset with a mic.

(although I could be talked out of that, if it matters).   I would, ideally, like to install Realtek Audio Manager to replace the Beats Audio that the machine came with.  From what I've read online, it seems that it may not be possible.  I plan to do some audio recording on this new machine, and I don't really want everything filtering through Beats, with its kooky settings and sound manipulations.   I tried to download the Realtek Audio Driver, but after the install it doesn't show up anywhere (other than Add/Remove Programs, strangely).  It doesn't appear in Control Panel, or Device Manager, or Programs.   The only file that shows up in a computer-wide search is the setup file, which I've run twice.  I certainly don't have the option or access to choose it over Beats.  I have a feeling it's simply not compatible.   So I guess my question is this: Is there a modification I can make to this machine (ie, new sound card?) so that I can install and use Realtek? Or is Beats simply hardwired into the motherboard in such a way that there are no alternatives.   Thanks for reading,Nathan

You're re-assing? lol

Yep, usually better to have the most up to date drivers, if for nothing else but stability of the system.

I am trying to adjust my mixer to accomodate my new speakers, the voice is too low, and the base is too high. I have accessed the mixer and tried to make it tollerable, but have failed. There is no direct bass and treble adjustment, and there is not a "user" or "custom" setting. There are only presets, the problems with these presets, is that they work in certain situations, but not in others. Any advise? Am I looking in the worng place? Can I put software in place to adjust the levels indepent of each other?
I am using the onboard sound card on an Abit IP35 Pro, and I am using Home Premium 64. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

A:Realtek HD Audio Manager in Vista 64

Hi Homer and welcome to Vista Forums

Sorry, but at the moment there are only preset options in the equalizer for the Realtek HD Audio Manager. There is a possibility that this feature might be introduced in a subsequent driver, but I wouldn't hold your breath. All I can suggest is that you keep an eye on the download site just in case a newer driver has this feature.

I'm currently using Windows Vista, and have trouble using the Realtek HD Audio Manager. It's quite unbelieveable that I tried quite a few things, but still no solution.

Not only is there no response to when I plug in the speakers and the microphone (no noticifcation if jack is plugged or unplugged), the speakers do work.

Things I've tried:
Update the Driver itself,
Checking if Playback and Recording is disconnected or disabled,
Fully doing a System Unit Recovery, and when I checked the Realtek HD Audio Manager, it suggested an update because the driver is unsuitable for the Vista.
And searching on the internet, but the only conclusion I can come with this is that many people have the same issue as me.

Running an Acer laptop with Windows Vista that has Realtek HD Audio. Vista had first installed a generic HD Audio driver that worked the internal speakers, but the headphone jack did not work when it was plugged in (Worked in XP). I've recently updated the driver per Realtek's website that was made for Vista, however I have the same problem; The internal speakers work. When I plug headphones in, the internal speakers turn off of course, but no sound through output though

Hi I've looked around for a fix for my problem, but could not find a solution, so sorry if I'm repeating a question. Okay so just recently upgraded my graphics card from.a gtx 460 to a gtx 560 Fermi, but had to go back to the 460 because my newer one broke a few days after I got it,, so when I put the 460 and put back in everything worked fine except my computer's audio jacks wouldn't work. My moniter's audio works though(nivida driver). So I tried reinstalling the drivers from realtek's site, gigabyte's site(my motherboard), and even cnet's version. All these downloads bring up their install screen and tell.me restart but their are no.changes to where they supposedly were installed , so the drivers weren't installed. Also this may not matter but when they install they extract the files, are these files supposed to go.to my program files? Sorry for the run on sentences.

A:Realtek audio drivers pretend to install. How to fix?

Depending on the version of Realtek driver you are installing
The first time you install the driver, it uninstalls the older driver.
Then when you reboot, you must again run the driver install software.

The newer driver from Realtek do this automatically.

So I'm working with an HP Compaq DC7700 Ultra Slim here, it has a mono onboard speaker. It runs Windows XP Professional 32 bit

I installed a Nvidia GT710 and the drivers for it, I forgot to uncheck the Nvidia audio drivers since i wouldnt be using HDMI and didnt need them anyway. This broke the realtek drivers already in the system.

So after removing everything audio related, and the nvidia drivers, i reinstalled the nvidia drivers without the nvidia audio.
Then went to install the realtek drivers again to get my onboard audio back.
Nothing seems to work, the drivers from HP dont work, the drivers directly from realtek dont work, their newest drivers dont work, a few different driver finder programs dont work, ive got nothing. I dont even get an audio mixer panel, opening it up in the control panel just shows "No Audio hardware"

I know its not a hardware issue, i still get the occasional beep from confirmation boxes and such.

I have no idea what to do about this, any help is appreciated, thank you.

A:Unable to Install Realtek Audio Drivers

Hi, and welcome to TSF.

You said that you uninstalled everything audio related but, to completely clean everything from the system usually requires a special tool.

https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/dow...r-uninstaller/

Its named Display Driver Uninstaller but.......

Quote:

Display Driver Uninstaller, or DDU, is a driver utility programs that allows you to remove all traces of NVIDIA, AMD, and INTEL display and audio drivers from Windows.

Maybe worth a try?

Hi guys, im in a serious trouble here and i need help from you guys. My computer is working fine , but just recently , i've download the latest realtek driver,R228, from the realtek official website. During the installation , the program requires me to uninstall the current audio driver , which they did it automatically for me when i click the ok button. After they had uninstall my current driver , i reboot , following all the instructions given , and now im not able to install the realtek audio driver. I recieve "Install realtek hd audio driver failure error code : 0x00000057".

I did search for solutions for days, but all the solutions doesn't apply to me. I've tried the famous solution , which is to disable and uninstall the UAA driver, but the problem is, i don't even have the UAA driver in my device manager. Im using Window Vista business 32 bit. My motherboard is biostar g31-m7 te.

I've uninstall all the realtek drivers , and do a driver cleaning with a driver sweeper program. I've even disable the on-board audio in the bios setting.

Any idea how can i solve this problem? Really need help. Thanks alot in advance.

I'm running windows Vista 32bit Home Premium. I wanted to install the Realtek audio driver. I went to their website and downloaded the HD audio driver. I installed it. I restarsed my PC. I go to Device Manager, and I look under sound, video and game controllers. There is no Realtek audio driver. Can someone please help me install this properly?

A:Realtek HD audio driver not working, vista

"I went to their website"

I assume it was the Realtek website you went to?
Drivers direct from them are fine if you have a Realtek add-on PCI sound card.
If your system uses an on-board (integrated) sound controller, you need to get the driver either from the PC/laptop maker's website or the motherboard manufacturer's website.

The PC maker's website should be used wherever possible though.

The reason why you should use the PC maker's website (or the motherboard maker's website) for integrated sound devices is that they often need custom-made drivers which are specially written for the PC maker. Realtek do not have these drivers for general download, they only supply them to the PC or mobo manufacturer.

I just bought myself a new Intel Core 2 Duo 1.86GHzwith an Asus P5L-MX socket 775 Intel 945G + ICH7 Chipset, and a 5.1 Channel Realtek High Def onboard Audio. I'm running Vista Home Premium.

My problem is that the audio card doesn't seem to work. Vista tells me the drivers are installed properly, but when I try to play a sound, nothing comes out of my earphones. Vista also tells me that there is audio outputting - the green bar bobs up and down when I'm playing a sound.

I've downloaded every driver I can get a hold of: Vista drivers, old XP drivers I ran in XP mode, but it doesn't seem to change things. The device manager tells me that it's outputting to an optical port, but the card doesn't even have one. I've uninstalled the driver and tried to install Realtek's in their place, but Vista seems to install its own drivers in their place.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Ok so I've had this problem before but now it doesn't seem to want to be fixed.

Windows Update installed Realtek audio drivers, which effectively disabled my sound altogether. Great. So I went looking for a fix. Apparently that fix is to download the Realtek '97 drivers, and install them, after uninstalling my previous driver. So I do that, but during the setup for the driver windows says it cannot verify the author blah blah blah, what's new? The problem is, when I click install anyway, it pauses for a minute or so and prompts me again.. I went through this little runaround about six times before I gave up. Any ideas?

A:Solved: Vista and Realtek audio drivers...

Run the exe as administrator and it could get through more likely.

Anyways. Go to motherboard/computer(if it's a factory-built box) manufacturer site and download latest audio drivers, not just any Realtek AC97 drivers some random person on teh intrawebs links to you. Then do the above.

I recently installed the Windows 7 beta, and it's great. There's something bugging me though; after installing the latest Realtek HD audio drivers for Vista (v 2.17) I can't have two sound outputs anymore. I want to run the same sound through my headphones and my speakers, but only the Front Speaker out port works, so I can't have both plugged in at the same time. This worked fine under XP, but I just don't get the new audio manager. Is there a way to make two ports work at the same time, and if so, what am I doing wrong?
