Mic not sensitive enough

Q: Mic not sensitive enough

Recently i have been having problems with my microphone as it is not sensitive enough. I was using astro a40s and they worked fine and everybody can hear me in discord but after those broke i have tried using razer, an beat headsets and they still can barely hear me in discord even though they said that they put me at 200% volume. I thought getting a newer headset (astro a50 gen 3) would fix it but it did not. My volume in recording devices is all the way up and my input device in discord is as well.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Stange isn't it. I post a question about an AOL problem, nobody answers it so I say I'm fed up with AOL and I'm going to dump it.
Suddenly, my post is no longer available and I'm not able to log in. Couldn't be because AOL doesn't want to hear the criticism could it?
As a "from the begining" AOL user, I'd still be marginally happy with it if any real help was available when they decide to change things that we don't want and don't work.
AOL has gone so far from it's original premise that it's no wonder it wouldn't work for Time Warner. In fact it's a wonder anybody is still sticking with it.
How about wising up and getting some real time help even for us "free" users? After all AOL was the one that wanted us to stop paying for their service.

A:AOL - a little sensitive?

Your other thread was deleted because you said your fix was to delete AOL - "Listen -- that sound you hear is AOL being flushed down the Computer Commode."

And your other comment led us to believe you had no further use for this forum - "Seems like this "help" forum is just as useless as AOL is."

Help!  I am new to the HP forums and really appreciate any help you can give me.  I have an issue with my HP  laptop and its built-in mouse pad.  This started after I upgraded to Windows 10.  Since then, out of nowhere a black BIng search screen will appear.  No joke - this happens at least 20-25 times an hour.  Plus, as I move the mouse around, the screen will zoom in or out.  My 2-window screen will divide into 4 or 8 screens, unwanted websites will appear, some of my folders will get moved into other folders, and several times my computer has rebooted to my surprise.  I know that i did not punch certain keys because I am a one-finger typist and I have to carefully watch what keys I hit.  The issue is in play whenever I am moving the mouse.  My frustration is slowly turning to anger.  I have checked very setting I have found and nothing fixes the problem.  PLEASE help me?
Thanks for any consideration

A window is maximized. When I click and hold the title bar and drag it a bit, the window resizes to a smaller window.

What Win7 feature is this?

Initially I had trouble with this. I know I wasn't double-clicking on the title bar for it to be resizing, but it was.

Interestingly, on Win7 Ult RC at home, I never noticed this happening, only on Win7 Ent at work.

That is Aero Snap. Can be disabled. I love it, but it can be touchy.

I recently upgraded a Dell Inspiron laptop to Win 7 from XP. Since then the computer has become possessed. Unintended programs open, text appears other programs, the cursor moves in unintended ways- such as from the end to the beginning of a line.

This is the second time I have written this post. The first time was interrupted by text suddenly appearing from an old email. None of this was experienced during years of using XP.

Can anyone explain this or offer a solution? I'd sure appreciate it!

A:Over sensitive interface

Did you install all of the Windows 7 drivers for your laptop, making sure the Chipset drivers were the first to be installed. What is the model of your laptop?

When you say 'Unintended programs open', do they just open when you aren't even touching your machine, or when you are typing something?

What exactly does "case sensitive" mean?

A:Case Sensitive

Case sensitive means when your Caps Lock is turned on. The letters can be BIG, like that, or can be small. That is especially important when you're logging into an account. Don't turn Caps Lock on when you're typing in a password, but if you have capital letters in your password then using Caps Lock could help.

Hello everyone!

I am using my sister's notebook and having major issues with mouse sensitivity.

Windows XP on HP Compaq 6730s

The touchpad seems to be overly sensitive to the point where basically lightly grazing it will move the mouse. It also seems like the cursor jumps randomly making typing on this or even using it at all nearly impossible!

I have tried to check the settings in the control panel but I can only find settings for a regular mouse, nothing about touch sensitivity... unless i'm looking in the wrong place... would these kind of settings be found in Mouse or Keyboard settings in Control Panel? Or somewhere else?

I am wondering if it is a driver problem?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Even typing this paragraph has taken me too long and the cursor has jumped 7 times already

A:Mouse TOO sensitive

ok..... so i decided to go with my gut and update the driver AND IT WORKED but then i kept getting an error message saying there was an error and "send or do not send" to report problem.. i kept closing the error box and it would just pop back up... so then i tried updating the live updates, and when i rebooted there were no more pop up error messages...

i went into control panel and opened the mouse settings and it was ALL THERE, finally! so I changed the sensitivity and it seems to be working PERFECT now!!!

thanks for taking the time to read it, for those of you who did, and even tho i resolved the issue myself, i figured i should at least post the update on how i fixed it (in case anyone in the future stumbles upon this same issue)

I bought this microphone for recording audio to my computer. It seems extremely insensitive though. I have to literally press my lips against the microphone to get a decent volume, and that's even when the mic sensitivity is cranked all the way up on my audio program (audacity). I don't think it's the program's fault though, as I also tried it in Windows Sound Recorder to the same effect. Is there anything that can be done?

Oh, if it helps, I use an adapter to get the 1/4" plug into the 3.5 mm jack.

I was with 3 for mobile phone, but I have moved to an area where the signal is very poor. It seemed that T-mobile would be better, so I ordered a SIM to test. Itís better, but the signal still yo-yos up and down: I get from zero to 4 bars on 2G. 3G only shows up sometimes, but often with no actual detectable signal Ė very unreliable.
BUT my phone is quite old and basic (Sony-Ericsson Z601i) and I want to get a Smartphone for the first time. Thinking about the Samsung Galaxy S2. My question is: is this likely to have a greater signal sensitivity than my old phone? Ė assuming I hold it right of course...I really want to upgrade and also to be able to use my phone where I live, but donít want to sign up for 24 months if it is going to be as unreliable. Orange network is no better where I am. Vodafone and Virgin are useless.

A:Are Smartphones more signal sensitive?

I was one of the very first to get an HTC Desire Smartphone in the UK (yes, I got it a 2 days before the official release date) Best gadget ever and does so many things. I'm on Vodafone network and don't have too many issues and I travel/drive about loads in the UK.

I think a lot of it has to do with atmospheric conditions when signal strength fluctuates. For instance, sometimes I can have no signal at all at home and the phone can be sitting in the exact same position, day in day out. Most of the time, it's a full bar. It really makes no sense why it fluctuates, when the phone can be in the same position all day. Once, I had a whole weekend with no signal and now learnt that switching it off and on again, corrects the problem and a full bar reappears when the signal vanishes for long stints like that. Not sure why this works but it does for me every time and it works on my dads phone as well when this happens. Go get your Smartphone, you'll not regret it.........awesome bits of Tech and I don't think they are any more sensitive than any other phone apart from the crappy iphone which I despise anyway, but that's another issue.

In the last week I've added nothing to my computer but the left clicker on my mouse has become extremely sensitive. Most times when I try to click on anything whether it be in a free cell game or on excell it acts like I clicked two or three times. I've been to "mouse" on the control panel and moved the double click to the slowest setting but no help. Now before this I'd never been to the "mouse" on the control panel so I could not have accidently done anything.

Does anybody have any ideas. It's really hard to do anything since I've got to be so careful hitting the left clicker on the mouse!

Thanking you ahead of time.

Bigger or smaller? We need a better explanation. Bigger or smaller has nothing to so with sensitivity. That sounds more like a zooming feature of your mouse.

And do you really mean "mouse"? Or are you talking about the notebook's touchpad?

Sorry for delayed response. Forums have been really busy. If you still need help with this do following, please.

Please download exeHelper to your desktop.
Double-click on exeHelper.com to run the fix.
A black window should pop up, press any key to close once the fix is completed.
Post the contents of log.txt (Will be created in the directory where you ran exeHelper.com)
Note: If the window shows a message that says Error deleting file, please re-run the program before posting a log - and post the two logs together (they will both be in the one file).

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here or here or here.
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds file to run the tool.
When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:

Save both reports to your desktop. Post them back to your topic.

I was just about to post my logs when my computer gave me an error message "Your PC needs to restart.." something about "CRITICAL STRUCTURE CORRUPTION" (Win 8).

I was on Craigslist, clicked a link to view pictures of something someone was offering for sale. The page said I could not view the pictures without a GIMP plugin (like you see when you try to watch an flv without flash). I downloded the "plug-in " because GIMP is a well known, trusted product.

Following that, I got the typical annoying browser malware issues - my homepages were changed, nasty advertizing toolbars, super slow performance, firefox stopped responding for no reason every time I tried to even open it. The virus even synced with my Android and started downloading apps without my permission.

I thought I could handle this myself so I downloaded Adaware, ran a full scan, deleted the traces. Downloaded SpyBot S&D, ran a scan, removed traces. Downloaded REVO, uninstalled the process that was syncing to my phone (don't remember the name) as well as completely uninstalled Chrome and Firefox. I reinstalled FF after.

My biggest concern is that I am a web-programmer and I have a ton of extremely important sensitive data on my computer for tens of thousands of clients including Social Security Numbers, important passwords to financial records, and not to mention thousands of lines of code that I my entire company RELIES on.

Hello everyone,

The problem is we run spare-parts programs on our computers that have a date lock on them, after approx. six months from issue they shut down which can be a real pain, especially as we often need info from older machines in the database. So far the only way we've found to overcome it is to reset the computer date, but as you know this upsets a whole load of other settings, not least the e-mails.

Is there a standard file in the imported program that's set to count down the dates that we can insert a 'patch' in to?
look forward to your replies

many thanks

A:Date Sensitive Programs

I presume the date lock is included in the application for a reason. What you are asking for is seems to be in violation of the BC Forum Rules:"No subject matter will be allowed whose purpose is to defeat existing copyright or security measures."

I would think that a better means of avoiding this recurring problem would be to use a spreadsheet or database application that would not be subject to any time interruption. I am sure you could find someone to prepare either for a very reasonable sum.

::HtmlHelp(0, m_pszHelpFilePath, HH_DISPLAY_TOC, NULL) ;

But, here i found that i am not able to display help according to my context.
In many places in my application i had set the Help IDs of different dialogs like:

Now i am not sure how to use these HelpIDs for context sensitive help.
I have tried passing "HH_HELP_CONTEXT", "HH_TP_HELP_CONTEXTMENU" but couldnt seem to get this right.

I installed the latest Nvidia display driver last week. After the reboot there was the green win 8 logo then the screen went black and stayed that way. I left it running for an hour and it stayed that way though the mouse cursor moved against the black background. I did a restore from a backup using Shadow Protect made right after win 8 install to get it back. Then a few days later I installed a skins program that was supposed to give background color to windows instead of the default white. The same problem with the black screen happened again and I did the same restore. This never happened with xp. A bad program would freeze, I'd use task manager to end it, the desktop would come back and I'd remove the program. I imagine an update will fix this, but till then I'm keeping a backup handy whenever I install new programs.

Nice topic which surely deserves a deeper insight as I'm looking for something similar too.

I'm interested in something similar in order to feel more secure while doing online banking transactions and in general everything that involves sensitive data (e.g. ordering things on Amazon and paying via credit card).

Live CD/DVD surely has the advantage of being an optical disk which has been closed and finalized, so each and every time you boot it you know for sure you're in a clean environment.
On the other hand (and this is the reason I probably won't use it) it's not persistent so you cannot save data on it. I'd like to have an environment in which all my banking documents/Amazon receipts and so on can be directly stored (and having to use an additional, external USB drive for persistent storage defeats the purpose somehow).

Indeed, I decided to go for a Linux Mint install on a 32GB USB 2.0 pen drive as first choice, thinking that it would boot nearly everywhere without me having to tinker with drivers and/or activation problems if I ever used it also on another computer (so maybe during holidays on my GF's laptop for example).
Unfortunately it ended up being so slow and sluggish to be nearly unusable probably because of the USB 2.0 data transfer rate being too small (480Mbit/s is actually slower than an average IDE drive). Need to try it with a USB 3.0 pen drive or external disk and see if it behaves well, as it looks like the best solution for me right now.

Dear Tech Guy(s):

I am running an HP Pavillion 6630, with WIN 98, Celeron Processor 500MHZ. CD-ROM 40X, CD-Burner HP8250I

I have been accessing a reference CD-ROM, which I own, that contains time sensitive technical data. Recently I have been LOCKED OUT, from accessing the data, and I would like to continue using it. I get a window telling me "The CD-ROM is dated May 2001 and you need to install an updated version."(Which I Don't Have)

I have tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling, the software, but this hasn't helped. I was also able to edit a couple of notepad files, on board the CD, entitled "Version" and "Volume", but that still didn't allow me access.

My Questions:
How can I continue to access this information? What files on board a CD of this nature, are usually responsible for allowing a computer, to identify its date? (The CD"s Date)

Any suggestions, or information on which files I need to access and edit will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

A curious question.
I would like to have VLOOKUP case sensitive.

Let's say that on sheet2, I have a list of names: "Bev", "BEV", "BeV", "bev" beginning columnA, row2, and quantities of "12", "2", "5", "6" in columnB. I have that range defined as "NameBev", $A$2:$B$5.

On sheet1, I want to add a list of names in columnA, "BeV", "BEV", etc., and in columnB, I want VLOOKUP which will pick up the appropriate value for the name in columnA.

"=VLOOKUP(A1,NameBev,2,0)" will pick up the first value in the table. I can change the name, but it will continue to pick up only the first value. Have tried a couple of things such as &A1&, with and without ", as well as other iterations, but can't seem to get it done.

Have also tried:
IF(EXACT(A6,VLOOKUP(A6,NameBob,1,FALSE))=TRUE,VLOOKUP(A6,NameBob,2,FALSE),"No exact match")

NOT a top priority!

A:Case Sensitive VLOOKUP

Hi Dick. VLOOKUP is not case-sensitive, as Help says. Some functions are (eg: EXACT, or FIND/SEARCH (one is, one isn't ; can't remember which way round)). I don't know if you could work something with them, personally I'd go for code instead.

For Each Cell In Selection
If InStr(1, Range("D1"), Cell) <> 0 Then
Range("D2") = Cell.Offset(0, 1)
End If
Next Cell

Hi all-

We have some information that we want to provide employees on a monthly basis that is of a rather sensitive nature. We want to be able to present this information to employees somehow without allowing them to print, copy, save or e-mail the page. I know with PDF you can lock it down so they cannont print or copy, but the Save functionality is still there as well as e-mail. Are there any programs that can be used to lock down documents in this fashion? We had been considering sending the information as an attachment in an e-mail but there does not seem to be any way to stop them from saving the attachment or forwarding it outside the company. We have considered setting up a link on our corporate intranet site as well but want to be able to lock down the documents still.

Any suggestions would be wonderful!

Since I've exchanged my MOBO from MSI B85-G43 to Gigabyte sniper Z87, my mouse (Roccat Savu) started to behave strangely. Sometimes, upon turning on the PC, the mouse gets SUPER sensitive. It literally flies around the screen with the smallest touch. Also, the mouse's LED stops working. What works is unplugging the mouse, and plugging it back in. It happens in all 2.0 and 3.0 ports. It doesn't occur every time, but it only happens after I power down the PC (by turning the PDU off). Which I sadly do every night, so I have to unplug my mouse pretty much every day. It doesn't happen on reset.

I've updated the Savu driver to the latest release.

The mobo is second hand, and it might have been sold because of this flaw (the price was low), but I fail to see how the USB port itself can cause this. Seems more like a software issue to me? It happened both on previous & new installation of Windows 10, which I had to reinstall due to mobo change (activation).

Any ideas? I'd rather not RMA the mobo because of something that insignificant, but it's strange. All other periphrals work just fine on the same mobo, same USB ports. On the other hand, this problem began after I swapped the mobo...

I've looked for new USB drivers for this mobo on Gigabyte site, but haven't found any.

A person that I know has some information about one of my friends that he shouldn't have and it is quite personal and sensitive data. I have asked him to delete it but he refuses . Is there any way that you know of that I could remove this data? I thought of using a batch file, but he is quite technically literate and wouldn't run it. I don't know of any other ways though I am sure that there are. I'd appreciate some help on this one.

Hi guys.
So recently I built my first pc, and had tons of issues which I have fixed by now.
However there is still one, mighty annoying issue that I still have; its that my pc is either turning off randomly (my cpu and gpu temperature's are fine) or its turning off because something is touched on my pc. I for example touched my pci wifi adapter from the outside, it instantly turned off. Tried it with the GPU, it instantly turned off. So I figured: that's ok, I'll just close the case and place it where it needs to be and not touch it. However it appears even if a wire is touched, or heck even if a piece of dust (or whatever) gets inside my pc and touches a piece of hardware my pc shuts off. Either that or like I said: its something completely random.

So my question is: is there a way to fix this? I mean this issue is extremely annoying as I'm trying to play games and keep on having to turn my pc on again because it shut off. This doesn't only happen during gaming either by the way.

My pc specs are:
asus m5a78l-m/usb3
NZXT source 210 Elite
R9 380
FX 8320 3.5 ghz (I'm not OCing this, ever.)
EVGA 600W Bronze PSU.
Seagate 1TB HDD

A:PC is extremely sensitive to touch?

Hello Quinn0909 and Welcome to PCHF

Are you sure there is no issue with grounding?
The fact that just by touching the system you cause it to turn off is suggestive of a short.

If I faced such an issue I would disassemble and reassemble the system to make sure.

Thanks for help in advance.
I am using Windows Vista on a Toshiba Satellite

My mouse is so sensitive that when I am working in Explorer I cannot avoid dragging and/or opening files. I use gmail and the only changes that I have made that I can recall was to add some gadgets in that program.

This problem is so bad that it is fouling up my filing system and causing me to lose files.

I just received my Dell Inspiron 17R laptop with Windows 7.  I am loving the laptop, however, the keyboard seems extra sensitive to me.  In the middle of what I'm typing, the cursor will jump back a line or two and start inserting type there instead of where it was previously.  I thought I was maybe dragging my hand across the mouse window while typing to cause this, but I've been typing with my hands raised above this and it is still doing this.
Is this a defect or are these keyboards really just that sensitive?

A:Ultra Sensitive Keyboard!

I have the same problem.  Just started a day ago.  I thought it might be a virus, so I scanned everything and nothing was there.  Then I started searching for answers.  One other post said it has to do with a Dell upgrade.  If you find a solution, let me know!

I have a Dell Inspiron 3532 with touch screen capabilities and I am wondering if there is a pressure sensitive stylus that will work with it. I don't want to use a captive stylus because those dont have the same capabilities for making digital artwork.
Thank you in advance!

A:Pressure Sensitive Stylus?

Not with this model, no.  There is a major difference between a touchscreen and a tablet-style screen with a digitizer  - you have the former, not the latter.
There are not that many 15" and larger systems with digitizer screens - even the 12-14" units that have these start just south of $1,000 -- most are over that price.  You won't find that feature in a budget-level notebook like your 3532.

I'm on XP right now, so I don't know the exact place of things in Vista. But in control panel, classic view, you should have an entry related to the keyboard.
When you enter it, you should be able to adjust the repeat delay and the repeat rate.

I am facing a strange problem, about a week ago my right click got well.. hypersensitive.

Sometimes when i click it once it turns out that it double clicks the right click and the other time i might send a right click and then a left click.

This gets really annoying, im afraid to right click links to open new tabs because i often end up left clicking the link aswell...

A:Right click hyper sensitive?

Go to Control Panel/Mouse You can change the double click speed. You can also go to the mouse manufacturers web site and see if there is a driver you can update.
All else fails, try a different mouse.

Hello, I would like to know how I can rid my PC of specific data, permanently.

You see, I am in possession of some... sensitive material. Material that must not, under any circumstances, be discovered. What material is for me to know only. I'm sorry if this complicates things, but my mom will flog me if she finds this!

I have already stored the data on a flash drive and deleted all left overs I could find, but I know that there are still traces in my laptop.

How can I track down every little piece of leftovers and erase, shred and incinerate them permanently?

Help is greatly appreciated!

A:Sensitive Data Incineration

The only way to do it with any certainty is to wipe the drive clean and run a couple passes of 0's over the drivehttp://www.killdisk.com/http://www.dban.org/

But now, with my new laptop, there are a bunch of things listed, and I'm concerned that I might have some kind of trojan on my computer (though I haven't shown any signs of such that I know of). I don't know if I'm on a LAN or am using NetBIOS (I use dial-up, ZA Free and AVG Free) -- though I guess if you do use these, there could be certain listings that are normal. I wasn't before on my old computer, as far as I know (since my netstat.txt log would come u... Read more

A:Is There Any "sensitive" Info In A Netstat.txt Log?

Hello,I wouldn't worry about it, the log lists your IP address and what ports are open and what you are connected to. for example...protocol UDP Local address foreign address ESTABLISHEDThe protocol is UDP, which means essentially it is connected to the internet. The local address is your IP address, it is essentially a phone number which people can use to find out where in the world you live. the : symbol tells the reader what port you are using to make the connection.Foreign address is the site or server that you are connected to.The state merely says what condition the connection is in. At worst the reader of the log will only be able to find out the area you are and what ports you are using. The reader could use the information to attack your computer, but with an effective security set up you should be fine. http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/cports.html this tool will display your connections in real time allowing you to see what application is connecting to the internet. The 1394 connection is safe it is part of windows, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307736 this article will tell you more about it.Hope this helps

You hear all the time that the build up of static electricity from your body could short the components on the mobo. I know if you ground yourself you greatly reduce this risk but I was just wondering where the sensitive parts on your mobo were? Just any exposed metal part? Is the entire back of the motherboard sensitive? should you avoid touching the back at all? If so, how do you pick up and install your mobo?

A:Where are the sensitive parts on mobo?

All parts on mobo are joined somewhere, so discharging your static on any place will be bad.

Just watch out for the capacitors and any spikey exposed bits, and yes the back.

Pick it up from the sides, like a CD.
