I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

My xp have been restarting itself occasionally before, however in the past few days it has become a frequent problem, i already turned off the automatically restart option and on the blue screen this is what i get:

STOP: 0X00000050 (0XF9EDF0DA, 0X0000000, 0X804DABC3, 0X000000)

this message changed too, before the 0XF9EDF0DA was different but the other parts remains the same

any help would be high appreciated!

Hi there, I hope I'm not breaking the rules here but I'm in a tight spot. All I have is a minidump file from a computer, which randomly crashes and displays 'Driver Power State Failure'. This is all I've got to go with so, can anyone help me decipher the minidump file? I need to have it fixed for tomorrow.

A:Minidump help

The memory dump is about 2 weeks old. And it's not real common for us to fix things with one lone memory dump.
Please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis: Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Rt630x64.sys Wed Oct 19 08:12:55 2011 (4E9EBEC7)
Realtek PCI/PCIe Adapters
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=Rt630x64.sys

Try uninstalling these programs, then reinstall a freshly downloaded copy:
- Video drivers
- antivirus software

If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics. Let us know the results and we can move on from there. (Start with the hard drive tests)

My client has got a Vista computer that is 3 months old; it kept getting Bue Screen of Death, flashed the BIOS and updated Windows, none worked. Then I downloaded the Windows Debugging Tools to read a minidump which I couldn't do because I didn't have the right permissions, so I set them, and it still didn't work.
I haven't got the right symbols to read the minidump? Can someone read it for me?

"Probably caused by : ndisuio.sys"

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=ndisuio.sys
Most likely the root cause is a wireless driver, which use the system file ndisuio.sys

You can set windbg to get the symbols from the internet, open windbg and go to File > symbol file path

Copy and paste this into the window

srv*c:\symbols*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols

hit Ok, then load your minidump file, after it finishes its analysis you can use the "!analyze -v" (without quotes) command to do a more in depth analysis of the file

Hi, I'm having a crash problem which seems worse now because I am not getting any minidump after the crash. Basically, my computer restarts randomly, regardless or what I'm doing and regardless of the workload of the job. It doesn't create minidump even thought it's activated under Startup and Recovery. This sounds like a heat issue to me... Download CPUZ and post a screenshot of your temps... Make sure that you have sufficient ventilation.. Use a can of compressed air to throughly clean any dust that may be collecting in your fans, PSU and GPU... Also what PSU are you using??

Also run SFC /scannow to check/repair your core windows files...

Ive been reading a lot on these forums about debugging with minidumps. Not that I want to get into debugging personally, but want to know in advance of any problem how to access the minidump (for debugging by others). Prior Planning and preperation and all that......

The problem is that I have had a look into the windows directory for "minidump" but there is nothing there (file or folder). I was wondering if anyone could advise.

PS I have temporarily unhidden system and hidden files/folders but still no sign of minidump!!

A:MiniDump

Your desire to be prepared is commendable, and I'm happy to say that if there's "nothing there", it's because your machine is not in the habit of crashing due to bugcheck errors

The default settings lead to the creation of a minidump - should a crash occur.

Hi,

Both dumps are crashed at IRQL x'FF' and this is sign od faulty ram mis-installed driver. The stack trace of your minidumps are corrupted and it it impossible to confirm the culprit.

Suggestion
1. Run memtest to stress test the ram.
2. Make sure your PC is not overheated
3. Re-install windows
4. Report the problem to Microsoft

Hi and welcome

the minidumps (if created) are usually in C:\windows\minidump.(*.dmp) they need to be zipped to upload. They can be uploaded using the attachment icon on the reply form ( shaped like a paperclip see pic)

If they arent in minidump you can search *.dmp. Some crashes (mostly in memory) dont create dumps.

You may have to drag the dump files to your desktop to zip them.

Let us know if you need more help with any of this

Hi BSoDerror. . .

Welcome to the Tech Support Forum - Vista Support!

Nice name.

That one dump file told me more than a dozen of them combined in recent times has. However, it is just one dump file - a small glimpse of what may be a larger issue at hand.

The STOP Error code is:

STOP 0x1000008E, (0x80000004, 0x823b423b, 0xadf5f6ac, 0x00000000)

The debugger comes up with the Microsoft keyboard driver i8042prt.sys, but I don't believe this is the culprit here. Your driver version is relatively new (December 5, 2007), but there was an update that came through on March 11, 2008 - so check Windows Updates.

My conclusion based on its proximity to the memory address of i8042prt.sys, that the GEAR Software, Inc., CDRom Class Filter Driver GEARAspiWDM.sys, time stamp Mon Aug 07 13:11:27 2006, is the one. Look into updating this driver and see if this makes the BSODs go away.

Speaking of which, I am on my way out and will return tonight, so if you have questions, I am sure that someone will be along to help. If not,l I'll answer later. Good Luck.

Regards. . .

Hello TechSpot members! I joined the site today because I saw many people around who are able and ready to help those in need

I guess that's me, the one who's in need of help today... The thing is that my laptop (Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo) is crashing to BSOD while playing TrackMania online, but sometimes even when I'm offline. Every other game runs smoothly even on high details and computer doesn't crash at all. It happened to me once before 2 or 3 months, while I was playing IL-2 Sturmovik (just a month after I bought the laptop), and I never played that game on this machine again, since I didn't want to mess it up like the one before Before I bought this laptop, I had another Fujitsu Siemens, and it had the same problems, but with more games and even some programs. As far as I remember, the STOP error was almost exactly the same and with similar error numbers. Unfortunately, I don't have a chance to test that laptop right now, so I'll post the minidumps from this one. This laptop's config is :

Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo
CPU : Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.0 GHz
2 GB of RAM
Intel Chipset GM965 , with integrated GMA X3100
WesternDigital HDD - 250 GB
Windows XP Home Edition with SP3 installed (The same OS that was on the previous laptop, except it was using SP2)

I read the rules about posting the minidumps on this forum, and I'm pretty sure that this isn't a memory issue, because I had the same problem with my previous l... Read more

I am solving BSOD's that my client has had intermittenly over the last couple of months - the attached being the first minidump that I got on 8 July. After analyzing it with WinDBG, I decided to do some more analysis by using .reload;!analyze -v;r;kv;lmnt. However, I am still none the wiser. With this deeper analysis, I am meant to be able to tell what process, program or device is causing the BSOD. However, I can't find it! Can anyone help?

Hello tommy2k8, welcome to Vista forums!

A:minidump please help

This doesn't appear to be a complete analysis.
That being said, the error is with the NTFS file system that organizes the files on your hard drive.

The first thing to try would be to run Startup Repair from your installation DVD. That will, in addition to other things, attempt to repair the NTFS file system with chkdsk /r

I would also run a bootable hard drive diagnostic to ensure that the hard drive isn't starting to fail on you. Instructions are here: Bootable Hard Drive Diagnostics - Vox

Requested data was not in memory. An invalid system memory address was referenced. Defective memory (including main memory, L2 RAM cache, video RAM) or incompatible software (including remote control and antivirus software) might cause this Stop message, as may other hardware problems (e.g., incorrect SCSI termination or a flawed PCI card).

As your debug log noted the faulting driver could not be identified. So,,,

Occasionally, on startup or shutdown I get a BAD_POOL_HEADER bsod. Sometimes it mentions ticalc.sys. I read somewhere that I should use the microsoft kernal debugger to analyse the minidump files and this would give a clue as to what is causing the bsod. I have tried it with one minidump file and I am attaching the txt here. However I don't know how to interpret it. It seems to say that ticalc.sys isn't working... what to do?

A:Could someone please take a look at this MiniDump?

Hi Kevin.

STOP 0x0000001A: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
Usual causes: Device driver, memory, kernel

Your latest dump file lists ntkrnlmp.exe as the probable cause. This is a Windows System file and for it to be the cause of your crash is highly unlikely.
Old and incompatible drivers can and do cause issues with Windows 7, often giving false error codes.

For Info:
Memory Management as the probable cause = Memory_Management usually means your RAM/RAM settings are mismatched or incorrect.
Memory Corruption as the probable cause = Memory_Corruption usually indicates out of date Drivers or Bad Memory.

Outdated Drivers. Update:

What are the specs of your computer?

When system crashes what exactly are you doing on it?

All are 0xD1 errors which are usually caused by bad drivers, but sometimes by failing hardware. In this instance, two crashes was caused by yk51x86.sys (probably your network card driver stack file) and Bit Defender firewall driver.

I am getting BSOD and I can't figure out what is causing it.
I think my problems started about two months ago when I uninstalled my anti-virus program (avast) at the request of playon support, and while it was down I got some malware, a trojan I think. I have since cleaned it out and come up clean with malwarebytes, super antispyware, avast, and various rootkit sweepers. However after that incident, my system seems unstable. i am getting BSOD quite often - 1 or 2 day. i have also run a scan disk with windows and it says that all of the files are fine.

after doing some reading about BSOD and the minidump files, I wanted to update my BIOS as it is older. I cannot seem to do it because my USB thumb drive will not show up. It is formatted Fat32 and USB legacy support is on, so I don't know what I am doing wrong (or even if this is the cause). I don't have a floppy drive.

Also, now I am having problems with my boot-up. A few times the computer has been stuck at the post where is says "verifying DMI pool data........." This took me a while to figure out, but I succeeded in repairing the boot file with bootrec commands. I have had to do this on three occasions in the last week. Sometimes I can just reboot after a BSOD, sometimes I have to do the bootrec thing.

Anyhow, below are the two most recent minidumps. The 8/14 dump was the most common(hal.sys). Any help is appreciated. Please note that avast is turn off as of 8/15 and is not monitoring anything. Thin... Read more

I've been researching this issue for the past several days and cannot find an answer.

My computer has crashed to the BSOD on close to ten occasions now. The only common factors that I've pinpointed are:

1, it occurs while viewing video on Hulu.
2, working in Photoshop(CS5).

I've searched tirelessly for answers and believe that my ram might have something to do with it. After many google searches on ntoskrnl.exe & fltmgr.sys I still haven't found anything

I've reformatted twice now and that did not correct the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi.
In this order,
Run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker you may need to run it 2-3 times to "fix" everything.
Download and install Driver Sweeper

Download the most recent software\driver for your NVIDIA

Uninstall nvidia software\driver,restart in safe mode, run driver sweeper, choose only NVIDIA-Display and clean, restart in normal mode.

Install the new ati software\driver,restart.

Update DirectX
Run the nvidia-video-card-test

Run RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Finish and post back with any results.

first one appeared out of nowhere (8/4/06) - just booted the pc one day and windows tells me it recovered from a serious error (although it was from a cold boot, and i'm pretty sure it shut down correctly)

second one i dunno, could be due to nero showtime or something?

I have a computer that keeps crashing with a blue screen with 0x00000000a. The blue screen does not give me a file or any other info to track down the error. It does it randomly and have tried trouble shooting with different hardware disconnected and programs running, but have not been able to replicate the problem on a consistent basis. I have some minidumps, but I can not seem to figure out how to read them. I will attach them to this thread. If somebody can tell me what is behind this chaos, I would really appreciate it. I do not want to do an rebuild if I don't have to...not to mention that might not fix it.

Hey, I have a friend who needs his minidump read. Because his computer restarts for fun.. Here it is..

A:Read Minidump

It`s difficult to be sure from only one minidump.

Your friends minidump crashes at nv4_mini.sys. This is part of the Nvidia graphics card drivers. It has a bugcheck of EA.

0x000000EA: THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER

A device driver problem has caused the system to pause indefinitely (hang). Typically, this is caused by a display driver waiting for the video hardware to enter an idle state. This might indicate a hardware problem with the video adapter, or a faulty video driver.

As you can see from the above. It can be caused by a faulty driver or a faulty graphics card.

You friend should start by updating the graphics drivers and seeing if that helps.

A:minidump file

Uour log shows the crash was probably caused by 'netr61.sys', a driver for your wireless adapter. One log isn't sufficient to determine if there is a problem with the driver or just a random occurence. Try zipping 4 or 5 if you have them.
