Preferred Solution: I want to allow Adobe Connect to access my Webcam

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, I have a problem that appeared on your forum but has now expired. I want to use a webcam with Adobe Connect. An image appears but it is upside down. When I try to share the image with others, Adobe Connect crashes.
All software is up to date: Adobe Connect, Flash, Webcam software IE.

I bought a new camera, (Logitech 170), installed it and disabled the laptops internal camera. Rebooted several times.
The problem is precisely the same with each camera.
Perhaps it is an add-on in IE?

Appreciate any help.

Hello,

I have an Adobe Connect meeting scheduled for tomorrow, and when I click on the link to test my connection to Adobe Connect, which I just installed, I get this message- what can I do? I am connected to the Internet, so Firefox

I attempted to connect using this link, in an email, and got the message below:
If you have never attended an Adobe Connect meeting before:

Test your connection:

This isn't a real USB webcam or built in one.  It's one of those video 2 webcam programs like coolwaremax webcam max or Manycam.
It's where you can play a video and transmit it as a webcam on services like yahoo or other online cam sites.

It was working fine for many months until a week ago.  One day, it just wouldn't connect anymore to any site such as Yahoo.  I double checked it on my 2nd computer it and works
fine there still, but on my main computer, something must've happened that has conflicted or interferrred with the driver?

When I go to yahoo and look at "camera source" it'll say it's: Microsoft WDM Image Capture (Win32), Version: 6.1.7601.17514

instead of saying "webcammax capture" like it does on my 2nd computer.

I've tried smart uninstall with Yamicsoft, and reinstalled different versions with reboot, but nothing works....still the same "cam not detected/found" and it says the source is: Microsoft WDM Image Capture (Win32), Version: 6.1.7601.17514

Does anyone have any clue what is causing it not to connect?

Hi Everyone, I am having problems with the notebook webcam. When I open Cyberlink YouCam 5, I get the following message:"YouCam found a new webcam (HP truevision). Do you want to begin use it?" If I click "yes" the camera starts working for 1-3 seconds and then the warning message appears again. The same problem occurs when I try to open the webcam with Skype under "Tools>Options>Video" I have restored it to factory settings twice but the problem persists. I have tried updating and installing new drivers offered by HP Support Centre, with no results. Anyone could help me out with this issue. Is there anything I can do to fix this?  Thanks,Riccardo

I need help trying to install Adobe Connect Software for my grad school courses. I click on the download link and then open the files as directed and a pop up shows the download progress. Hi

Any ideas why I can't connect to www.adobe.com? I get an error message saying "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". Same problem when I try using Firefox. Also happens if a do a Google search on Adobe.com and try to connect to the Adobe site via the link.

I am using a HP laptop operating on Windows XP.

Probably related to this problem: When I try to download a pdf file from an internet link, I get an error message refering to the file adobepdf.dll. I downloaded the file and installed it, but the problem persists.

Really frustrating, since I use pdfs a lot!!

Hi all,

I originally had a JL550A Toy Camera that worked, then one day it stopped. Whenever I opened it in MSN Messenger, ArcSoft Video MVP, or the computer's Camera/Scanner application there would be no streaming video.

I thought the 5 year old webcam just ran it's course so I bought a new one. It was a Logitech QuickCam Express. Whenever I turned it on, it would play for about three seconds and then I would get a blue screen error. I figured another faulty camera, so I returned it.

This time I bought a GE MiniCam Pro (either a 98067 or a 98667). Same problem as the first camera I had. No video, no nothing. I installed the driver from the website and the cd. Nothing. A little "MiniCam Pro: Connected" button is on my toolbar. When I plug it in to the USB, the "found new hardware" balloons go through and says its ready for use. No dice. When I pressed the button to take a snapshot I got "Error During Capture, Error Code=00000000." I checked the device manager and nothing is out of line. I've gone in safe mode and installed, and when I went back into the regular mode I got "This Graph Cannot Preview," and other than the button on my toolbar that says the cam is connected, no other devices recognize it anymore, let alone stream video.

I'm at the end of my rope and will convert to any religion the prayers of which will fix this darn webcam. Any help is greatly appreciated! I have Windows XP Home Service Pack 3. Thank... Read more

It is probably the auto update feature in Acrobat accessing the web to search for updates.

You can check to see if it is set to auto update by opening Acrobat and going to Edit > Preferences > General and scroll down to "Update" and see if it is set to update weekly, monthly or manually.

A:Adobe Connect camera freezing

We see this freezing camera issue too. We believe it is related to the other Windows 8.1 issues with Adobe Connect. Here's a forum thread discussing Windows 8.1 issues; http://www.connectusers.com/forums/topic/10006/recording-issues-with-connect-922-and-windows-81/ Adobe has suggested the Windows 8.1 issues would be fixed in 9.3 and 9.4 but they weren't. They are now telling us it will be fixed in Connect version 9.5, due out later this year.

Hi,

I not able to watch recorded lectures on Adobe Connect. Other people are able to do so, however.

I have tried everything on Adobe's website to solve this issue. I have also tried uninstalling the applications and re-installing them. I reset the laptop this morning, but to no avail. This is a new computer, which got delivered 3 days ago.

My exams will be over by Dec 11. I have 44 days to watch the lectures, study and appear for assignments. I had taken two days' leave from work to catch up on my studies. Those days have been wasted trying to open a single lecture.

I would be very grateful, if someone could help me in sorting this out.

Thank you for your valuable time.

Lenovo A7 touch screen i5 running win7/64, avast antivirus,  About 6 months ago, lost the ability to cut and paste files among directories.   I Googled the problem and found lots of solutions not at all relevant to me.  sigh.  A pain, but sort of livable-with.   Now in the space of 2 days, Skype wont recognize my webcam and dropbox and Internet Explorer both do not think I am connected to the internet at all.  I have done the standard reinstall / update programs, uninstall/reinstall drivers on Device Manager.  Malwarebytes scan ok.  Dropbox forum helper thought it might be avast antivirus, but I disabled that and still no joy.   Could not run F Scan at all. I think that the problem started when I tried to download some screen capture freeware.  I've cleaned out as much as I can, but still no joy.

You will also see from the logs that K9 is installed.  However, it is not working now.  I uninstalled/reinstalled IE 11 two days ago, and when I did that K9 deactivated itself.

Recently I got a Lenovo P1 Gen 2 and everything was going great till a couple days ago when I couldn't access my webcam anymore. I tried reinstalling windows, resetting my drivers, enabling and disabling privacy mode and updating Lenovo Vantage. When the camera app on windows 10 would be opened after 3-5 seconds the grey access to camera denied filter would show up. I could access the webcam through my browser and skype but not natively in windows. After hours of troubleshooting I realized that if I kept the Vantage app or my browser (Brave) open and then opened the camera app the webcam would load normally. However the instant I closed or minimized the vantage app the grey filter would come back.  Is this a vantage bug? or a windows bug?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All,

Starting to tear my hair out with this one now, any help appreciated.

I'll set the scene: PC is running XP home SP2, 3Gb RAM, AMD Athlon 3200+. Windows firewall and AVG8

The PC is running through a B/B router (BT2700HGV) as part of a small home network of three PC's. I have a USB webcam connected which i'm wanting to use as a security cam to view whilst at work. The cam is running through Active Webcam V9.9 which acts as an HTTP "server" and generates a basic web page so an outside PC can see the streaming webcam. I have set up the appropriate port forwarding through the router but cannot connect from outside the local network. Connects and displays fine from inside the network (on one of the other local PC's) but not from anywhere else.

I have tried putting the router into DMZ mode - same result.

I have tried turning off the AVG and firewall - same result (but you may know something i don't here, is the program still running in the background??)

The IP addresses do not change either outside or in.

I have followed the instructions on www.portforwarding.com which said to do exactly what i'd already done as above.

My ISP is not blocking the port. I have tried port 80, 8080, and a variety of others to no avail. If i go onto www.canyouseeme.org it says the port is open and working.

I have also tried Yawcam and Zone Trigger software with the same outcome so i don't think it's the software

I believe all the correct Windoze components ... Read more

Hi, If you are not able to uninstall Skype in the usual way from Programs and Features ( Control Panel ), you could try a third party uninstaller such as the application detailed below. Download and install the free version of Revo Uninstaller from the link below. http://www.revouninstaller.com/download-freeware-version.php Run revo and use it to uninstall Skype. Right click on the icon of the program and select Uninstall - this will initially try to lauch Skypes own uninstall routine which may fail if some files have been deleted, but just continue with the process. During the rest of the process you may be asked to delete registry entries, just select all and then click delete. Do the same for any left-over files and folders. Once the uninstall has completed, restart the notebook. When windows has fully reloaded, try installing Cyberlink YouCam again. Regards, DP-K

I've been having a on-going problem with allowing internet sites to access my webcam directly (justintv, blogtv, youtube)

When the adobe message pops up where the video is played back to you and says
"something.com is trying to access your webcam
Pulldown menu of cams
Accept Decline"

The adobe section just freezes. I can't click decline or accept.
I have the latest flash player. (Uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled)

It does this with any camera source I try to use, my video capture card, and webcam.

I'm running Windows vista 32, HP dv6500 laptop (built in webcam; see review below)
http://techtaxi.blogspot.com/2007/09/hp-pavilion-dv6500-notebook-pc-review.html
And I'm using FireFox, the most recent version.

HALP!

Have you just used a 'generic' word here for the message that 'something' is trying to access? If so, it sounds like a firewall issue. Open the firewall and give the web cam-ans/or Adobe Flash- permission to access the internet.

Check the add-ons section of the browser and make sure the shockwave flash Active X Object is enabled.

Adobe is not opening the pdf files when someone emails them to me. And I can't get adobe.com to open. What is going on and how can I fix this please?

A:Can't access adobe.com

Adobe.com is working fine. Is this the only web site that you're having problems with? Maybe it was just down while you were trying to visit.

Hi everyone - I have a beauty if anyone can help.

Story so far ( I'll try to keep it short )

had drive problems with PC so got new SSD drives and a Hybrid drive.
All new drives so did tortuous route install win7 - upgrade to win 8.0 all worked then started acting up. My tech support worked on it for 2 days and gave up said I should backup and do a clean install from start. So I did.
Not yet put any backup files on so only operating system and devices (printer, wireless keyboard/mouse, wireless headset and 3webcams ( One Pluscom and two PCline ) checked device manager and found cameras with yellow exclamation mark and checked properties and saw this webcam.JPG . Contacted my tech support again they gave up after 20 mins and guess what they suggested. gave appropriate answer which ended in off and went to Microsoft answer desk. After chatting for 1 hour 40 still no further other than some services which should have been running were not so he suggested starting services and check windows update. download, install and do a reboot and see what happens. If I would purchase a support plan from them then they would connect to my PC and troubleshoot and sort.

Not willing / able to pay $150 at moment so I have come to the REAL expert for some help.

I am obviously logged in as admin as I am the only user who Can use PC and checked permissions which are OK all users having full access.

Hoping someone has an idea before I go completely bald / mad ( as in do lally not angry )

A:How to access my built-in webcam 1.3M on emachines E528-2821

Hi gnam786. Welcome to the forum.

This is a common problem. You need software that uses the webcam.

Most people use Skype. There may be a program pre-installed that uses it too, HP computers have "Cyberlink".

Otherwise do a web search for "Webcam software Windows 7" and you will find many!

I took some photos, and made some videos, now I'm stuck in this "gallery"

When a menu appear is like: "crop ------ delete"

How can I come back to the default menu?

Thanks guys, I know its probably some very durrr thing xD

See ya

A:Webcam problem: can't access the menu (only crop/delete)

Welcome to the forum. It would really help if you would put the make and model number of your laptop in the system specs in your profile. Plus, tell us what software you are viewing the gallery in. There are a number of free webcam applications on the web for adding effects and taking photos, even surveillance using the webcam.

Running a HP Pavilion Media Center with AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core and XP.

I had to do a PC Recovery last week due to malware and have been having number of issues. I've been able to work through most of them, but just realized yesterday that I could not open Adobe reader. When I tried to download an updated version, I discovered that I could not access adobe.com either. I have had the same problem with trying to download Flash also.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I do have Norton Systemworks installed on this computer. I know it does some crazy things sometimes....

Thanks
